The first step is always a leap of faith.
Alo Jeneto is the main character of Into the Foglands, a comic I'm hoping to release next year. Until then, I'll be releasing more little glimpses into the world of the Foglands whenever I can.

i might have talked about it before but i kinda wanna rant a lil how nonsensical both the "getting of the time reversal" and "giving zelda the mastersword" things are
bc ... to get the time reversal powers you touch a ... ghost of the enigma stone that used to be there .. and i GUESS it was the one zelda has now but used to be raurus and since its now linked to her we get .... link being astral projected into ghosty dimension similar to the other sages and we get zeldas sage power, but .. how does that even work, zelda, having supposedly long lost her soul to being a dragon is somehow still able to do the whole sage thing of taking you to fogland mclight dimension, just doesnt tell you the same stuff the other sages do word for word (thank GOD)
but how did that even manifest? even ignoring her soul being GONE how can she make that oath or whatever while shes not awake and just floating there, what business does the ghost engima stone have there and why dont the others have something similar to where they were once stored (in the forgotten temple backrooms tm bc we cant have the sonau NOT touch a thing in this world all of the sudden-)
is it bc they were like ... released of their holder from the old sages since they had long died and those go back to being big floaty stones (for whatever reason .. shouldnt have sonias stone done the same when gan took it then??)- also zeldas ability being put into the hand ability wheel while we gotta chase down the damn sages any time you want to use one of their abilities is so unfair .. you could have made the sages usable .. but no ..
its a relatively small complaint compared to the rest but it still bothers me bc it just ... feels so contrived, like it feels to be so clearly just some loose string to get you that power
the same with the weird ass time bubble to get the mastersword back in time to zelda just so she can have a flimsy reason to do what she does (we wouldnt want the character this series is named after be an actual CHARACTER instead of a pretty prize at the end now would we??) and its jsut so .......... why not have her grab the broken master sword as shes falling into the past (SOMEHOW) or it falling down with her bc really link shouldnt maybe not be able to hold it anymore- wait he reaches for her with that hurt hand .. so he did drop it .. and it somehow got back to him instead of being put into the past WITH zelda right then and there?? why??
(also ..rauru just teleporting him to the sky island ... wasnt that arm the last bits of raurus physical body? was his ghost just chilling up there the whole time- ... can ghosts in totk control and teleport their physical, dead limbs to whereever their ghost is? why can a ghost even be so far apart from the rest of his remains .... or was that spiraling energy stuff just him slowly turning into a ghost there ... but my point about ghosts controlling their dead limbs still stands- WAIT he ALSO has to be able to ... SEE somehow bc he grabbed link before he fell too .... the way he talks when you find him chilling on the island tho is like hes seeing it all for the first time too .. so .. he wasnt a ghost yet and still knew where to go .. even tho the place is somehwere totally different to where it used to be and if he became a ghost right there why couldnt you see him when he grabbed link... if the hand that grabbed link wasnt actual the one that fell off gan why does it look like it then? bc gan hand was long and thin with long ass class and raurus actual ghost hands are barely different from typical human ones- .. i think im having more thoughts about this point thant nintendo had over the entirety of making the game .... also fuck rauru for doing the fake out "oooh noooo im fading awayyy" thing just so he doesnt have to answer any of your thousand questions i guess, only to return at the end going, "actually, i want my arm back and yours was fine anyway lol, and here sonia is here too for some reason! also check this out! zelda is back and you didnt have to do shit, isnt that cool?")
the weird time bubble makes me so angry when i remmeber it exists bc it just .. makes NO sense?? what even is it?? if it was a foreshadowing to zelda learning to use her new time powers and you find more over time in the game where she manifests mroe and more until she manages to return on her own like it was kinda teased with sonia tellign her shell find a way to use her new powers to go back since she (SOMEHOW) also got herself here and that point going nowhere like so many other points (hows it going impah, foudn a way to get zelda back yet? dont bother, turns out the solution was 'beat the bad guy' and it all solved itself) OK fine, that works
BUT ITS NOT a foreshadowing of anything, the time bubble thing is just THERE and it drives me nuts, it really only adds to this whole game feeling so weirdly held together by loose strings and it just gets worse the more you think

Chronicles of Descendaria’s artwork {original project}>>
They always warn them about the fog, saying that only the soulless people can enter. But they never return ,they say. The powerful northern folks avoid the narrow pass like they do the diseased that lead to them. Even the notorious cannibal tribes and the Exiled ones that occupied the lands near it don’t venture too far. Each have a separate tale about the foglands but they all say the same thing-
‘Something evil, hateful and rotten lives there.’

Did a Cannibal Hunters playthrough.
The squad, dubbed Meal Team Six, consists of a Greenlander named Lunch and a Shek named Dinner. Clearly, I didn't have to much faith in their chances.
Right out the gate, they start out surrounded and I just had them book it. Lunch was able to get pretty far ahead of the cannibals while Dinner was immediately swarmed. He put up a decent fight but ended up getting dropped and caged. I had Lunch make a break for it only to end up trapped on a cliff. I spotted a group of cannibal hunters passing so I sent Lunch to try to at least make it to them. He took a few hits but managed to make it to them. He fought alongside them for a bit before getting dropped. It looked like he was going to die before one of the cannibal hunters healed him up before leaving him behind surrounded by unconscious and dying cannibals.
Meanwhile, Dinner was in a cage and just all beat up. Luckily, Lunch and Dinner started out with med kits with Dinner getting a splint kit as well. I had him mend his wounds while picking the lock on the cage. Dinner had the higher lockpicking and stealth stats of the two so I had him get out and slowly sneak closer to the entrance. A massive fight between cannibals and shrieking bandits was happening and the cages were getting filled up. After popping into a cage closer to the entrance, I decided to try and wait until nightfall.
Lunch on the other hand was still unconscious. Most of the cannibals near him had died so I was hopeful that he'd just manage to not get seen until one of those little cannibals came up and grabbed him. This was a way from the village so while I was trying to keep Dinner alive, I'd check back in to see Lunch being slowly carried back to the village.
Eventually, a group of Tech Hunters and Cannibal Hunters showed up and just started cutting through everyone. I had Dinner escape and run to the guy holding Lunch. After a quick fight, Dinner picked up Lunch and tried to make a break for it. A limping cannibal showed up out of nowhere and dropped Dinner again. They end up back in a cage.
Finally, Lunch regains consciousness and starts picking the lock to the cage. His lockpicking skill is low so it takes longer but he manages to get out. He also manages to pick the lock on Dinner's cage. At this point, the entire village has been pretty much carved out. I have Lunch free a couple of the Tech Hunters that had been caged and then sneak away.
From there, they had a couple of close calls including:
Getting attacked by a baby beak thing. Getting attacked and dropped by a broken Skeleton. Getting swarmed and dropped by Shrieking bandits after I picked the wrong dialogue option. Heading into the Foglands, making close enough to discover Mongrel, and then getting swarmed by Fogmen.
Lunch was able to run but again, Dinner got dropped and carried off. Once I saw Lunch make it through Mongrel's gates, I switched back to Dinner. Luckily, he was conscious when they set him down because the Fog Prince immediately started chewing on him. I managed to pick the lock and have him get far enough to sneak as it was night time. Somehow, he managed to slowly sneak towards Mongrel.
While this was all happening, Dinner was dangerously close to starving and we had no money so I had Lunch quickly collecting Fogman weapons to sell so I could at least buy some food. While doing that, I come across a Fog Heavy. A Fog Prince must be close so I search through the bodies, find the Prince, and collect the head. Just as Dinner makes it to the gates. After selling the head, getting food so Dinner wouldn't starve, I had them grab beds at the bar so they could finally fully heal.
Tumblr media
I'll be honest, that was super stressful. I didn't expect either of them to make it so to have gotten both of them to safety was a W I will happily take. It only came down to several lucky breaks but what a brutal game start.

Mystery/Thriller Monday
Tumblr media
Had me at New Zealand. Nina Rai disappeared ten years before the book is set, but no one paid much attention. She was thought to be a trophy wife who just left (this story was supported by the fact that when she disappeared, so did $250,000 in cash. But, then, the ten years later, her bones are found in the woods that surrounded her neighborhood.
Not surprisingly there are secrets upon secrets in this elite cul-de-sac. Especially since the same families have lived there for years and years. Nina’s son Aarav thought that he heard a chilling scream the night NIna disappeared, and now, he wants to find out the truth about that night. But, is he ready for that truth (are we the readers ready either). Not to mention, he’s recovering from a car accident, and on the drugs relating to that, so, how are those maybe messing with his head too.
It’s a psychological thriller to the nth degree. As I said above, so many secrets, and so many twists and turns. And the characters are all so unique and larger than life within the story too. It was an intense read, and a great read.

A Geographic History of the People
Tumblr media
Independent Republic Cities
A string of lakes and rivers on a relatively isolated northeastern peninsula is the main home of humans. Perhaps early people developed extensive trade because of the connected lakes providing quick transport of goods and people between even small settlements. Now there are 4 cities - Veristade, Seristade, Lavistade, Penstade - who (they tell outsiders) are equal and independent administrations. In reality of course the headland is a hotbed of rivalries and intrigue as each tries to one up the other. Very small remaining forests exist in a delicate state of the these fierce competitors trying to use them for themselves without completely destroying them.
Flat Sands
A mostly desolate area just south west of the peninsula, constantly eroded by endless hot winds. The aptly named hamlet of Oasis provides a breather for those travelling across, along with outposts near the twin coasts.
Bay of Chooms
A warm bay of fish so plentiful that boats move through them like sludge. It cuts into the continent’s eastern shore.
Freeholds
Many hamlets and farms dot these lands. Although looked down upon for their simple lives, the people here are content to live this way, tucked between breathtaking mountains, forest, and sea. This is the largest mass of land within the continent and takes up the full south eastern quarter.
Mountain Hold
A somewhat mysterious dwarven city in the mountain, height of their culture and provider to everyone else of gem and ores. A fascinating trail though the mountain range starts here - (mostly) above ground roads and underground dwellings (largely roadside inns) allow peoples to traverse the otherwise impenetrable landscape. It is just east of the centre of the continent, with the train heading west.
Jeese and Jeese River
At the centre of the continent and end of the dwarven trail is the city of Jeese. Although built in dwarven vernacular this is a cosmopolitan city. Every kind of creature finds a comfortable home, from underground halls, to sunny houses carved into the side of the Jeese Mountain, to riverside mound-houses. The wide river is famous for its yearly salmon runs and many ferry services for getting across.
Foglands and Mushroom Shield
Wet, foggy plains surround these 2 strange settlements. This cartographer unfortunately cannot tell you much of them as I left when I realized that they both happily count goblins among their inhabitants. They hinted at underground settlements although I cannot see how that is possible with the relatively soft ground. This area is reached by going north after leaving the dwarves trail (Players may discover underground caverns held up by giant hardwood-like mushrooms and dangerous dwellings within them)
Thamberland
An entirely forested island home to 2 elf ‘tree forts’ - Silvate and Warstona. Inhabitants grew trees over centuries shaped into pleasant (for the stout-hearted) homes. This large island site northwest of the mainland.
Soft Shoals
“Islands” that sit below the water’s surface instead of above, providing sun warmed hard ground for the gilled and finned people living here. Several house boats offer quarters and markets for others. Kelp and coral products are the main exported resources. This is the most western point of the map.
Goblin Blight
A dangerous “city” of goblins in the marshlands. The deltas, shores, and wetlands provide enough resources for the small mean creatures to thrive despite and unwillingness to cooperate even among their closest kin. The nearby craig bluffs and lone Craig Mountain even provide ore for their rudimentary weapons. The delta is on the westernmost part of the continent and the Blight its self is on the western coast.
Lacarno Beaches
A series of long beaches provide a pleasant stop on the one’s journey. The laid back inhabitants (fish and land dwelling) mostly live in fishing villages. Warm - despite its southerness - due to warm currents from an unknown source. (Players may discover underwater thermal activity).
Mayne Island
Despite being the largest island, Mayne island is crowded by mountains, sea, and forests, leaving little room for the people. Due to the cold southern climate they wear heavy skins as clothing, making their makeup hard to discern. Their buildings are likewise ambiguous in nature.
