@fallesto for a starter between Ember and Kaigaku.
Tumblr media
“So you are the new demon that I heard about.”
A new demon that Kokushibo had brought in and one that used to be a demon slayer too. She didn’t know the Upper Moons that well but she knew enough to know that it was rare for them to make new demons from humans especially when the human used to be a demon slayer. If it was her, she would have eaten the demon slayer instead. Or perhaps Kokushibo saw potential in this individual.

“I wonder what Kokushibo saw in you to turn you into a demon instead of eating you.”

"Is that so?" She wondered if Kokushibo saw a tormented spirit yearning for more, or a spirit fearing death and cursing his own weakness as a human. Nevertheless, this was Kokushibo's decision whether she agreed with it or not.
Tumblr media
"Careful, too much arrogance can be your downfall. I agree that us, demons are stronger and superior to humans, however, it is not impossible for humans to kill demons. You were once a demon slayer, I am sure you have slain demons during your life as a human. Even the powerful Upper Moon demons were slain by humans too. You are just lucky that the second strongest demon took you as his pupil." Ember emphasized the word, second strongest to Kaigaku. Muzan was the strongest, not Kokushibo.
"Words mean nothing if you are unable to prove them. If you are so strong, then prove it. How about we find a Hashira right now? You can fight against the Hashira and take back his head to show to Kokushibo and Lord Muzan. I am sure that will make them proud of you."
How many slayers has he dispatched? Too many to tally, far too many to keep track of in his relentless pursuit of power. On his journey to claim the title of the greatest, he has eclipsed all the Hashira, becoming an unstoppable force.
“Kokushibo-sama recognized something in me. He gazed into my soul and saw a tormented spirit yearning for more than this world could offer. He chose me. He could have ended my life, could have turned away, but he saw the potential within me and understood that all I needed was an opportunity—and he granted it.”

It mattered not what she claimed; the demon lord himself had selected him, cradled his face, pierced his gaze, and marked him as the new Upper Moon Six. The demise of the other upper moons was irrelevant; this title was everything he had ever desired, bestowed upon him by demons themselves.
“You speak as if you possess knowledge, yet you are merely a lamenting woman. A demon cannot be vanquished by a mere human; it is an impossibility. The strongest demon in existence has taken me as his pupil.”
To label him as weak was sheer folly. He was the second demon slayer to be transformed into a demon, the Upper Moon Six, destined for greatness in this world.
“I will eradicate all the Hashira, for my lord and master. I will bring them to their end to prove they were mistaken about me.”

Ember couldn’t help but laugh at the demon’s words. Even though he was a lot stronger than her, she was amused by his words.
Tumblr media
“You are only strong now because Kokushibo helps you become strong. You weren’t strong before you met Kokushibo, were you? I heard you were only a normal demon slayer. You were not even a Hashira. If Kokushibo turned a Hashira into an Upper Moon demon, I can respect that demon.”
Kaigaku only recently became a demon and was lucky to become an Upper Moon without any real show of power. She knew he was only a replacement for the Gyutaro who was dead. If Gyutaro never died, she bet he would have never become an Upper Moon. How arrogant.
“Besides, you are only chosen as a replacement for the Upper Rank Six. I am curious as to why Kokushibo chose you. Is it because you begged for your life? Or…”
Perhaps, she could play along with his arrogance and overconfidence.
“Or perhaps you are strong. Upper Moon demons are strong enough to kill Hashiras. Have you killed a Hashira yet?”
WE ARE NOT THE SAME, AND NEVER WILL BE.

That was the first true word that had ever left the lips of any pillar he had been unfortunate enough to work alongside with in his time as a demon slayer.
HIS EYES HAD BEEN OPENED AT LONG LAST.
He knew they had been holding him back all this time.
DENYING HIM WHAT WAS HIS.
He was meant to be the next thunder pillar -- and they had refused him. His master had spoken like an aging fool about sharing the title -- sharing it with some brat who was too weak to learn anything other than the first technique - how pathetic.
NOW HE HAS SURPASSED THEM ALL.
This body felt strange. He was still adjusting, everything was so new to him. He felt as light as a feather, but as strong as any ox. He walked forward -- as if he walked on thin air now. His eyes opened wide as he could see her clearly, hear her breathing and above all else.
HE COULD SMELL THE BLOOD RUNNING THROUGH THEM.
He knew what he was, but he cared little now.
HE HAD BEEN MADE AN UPPER MOON.
He had consumed every single drop of that blood -- and on his change they had granted him everything he wanted.
DEMONS ACKNOWLEDGED HIS POWER.
A small smile played on his lips -- he did not expect company this soon, not after he had killed so many people, destroyed so many lives, and eaten so many people all to shed his humanity and gain his power.
“Your weak and I’m strong, I think the difference is quite clear. ”
He would never have spoken to a true slayer before in such a manner, but now -- now he knew the gaps in power.
HE WAS AN UPPER MOON -- WHO COULD BEAT HIM NOW.
He remained still as he stared at her, why send the weakest of them all for him? What did she hope to achieve by coming her? To die without ever knowing love? He could assist her in that.
