Harry tore his eyes away from the man on the catwalk. The merry party of wizards were advancing on him with Moody at the helm, leaving Uncle Vernon to smoulder a few metres away. He was asked if he was ready to go, which he didn't respond to. He simply let Moody's gnarly, root-like hand clamp onto his shoulder and lead him away.

They followed all the way to Uncle Vernon's Mercedes. Some of them gave Harry hugs while other whispered reassurances that they'd see each other again soon. That the weeks would fly by and that they would come to get him before he knew it. But Harry knew very well that he was doomed. He knew that this would be the last he ever saw of any of them.

Headcanon: dream manipulation

There are typically two main ways that Yugi can manipulate dreams.

The most complicated being when he dreamwalks into other peoples dreams. Doing this, he can observe the surroundings and the little details that lead to specific outcomes or meanings of the dreams an in subtle ways shift them around or intervene to help the subconscious work through things. This of course is the more dangerous way for himself, since he can sustain injuries from dreams, and should the dreamer become consciously aware enough to lucid dream, he can be at their mercy since at the end of the day it isn't his subconscious to control. But because doing it this way helps the brain work through things, it can lead to certain dreams showing up less frequently sometimes.

The most direct and quick way is while someone is asleep, Yugi can pull the dream 'out' and shift it around. To him, it looks like pulling out a delicate and intricate wispy spiderweb dotted with pinpoints of light. It clings to the dreamers head, of course, and his fingers. From here, he can shift the lights and pluck and weave the threads around, pushing away and quelling nightmares (Darker, redder lights that seem 'angry') and bringing the calmer things (gentle and soft lights) to the forefront. This is the easiest, but he can't see what the dreams are or get to the underlying problems, just merely keep the nightmares blindly at bay.

This also requires him to stay awake to keep control throughout the night, because sometimes he can quell the nightmares but they might crop back up since the subconscious is finicky like that.

when I saw that cookierun was coming out with a Venetian, celestial dreams themed they/them jester I was just like. COME ON. I had grand plans of documenting the full creation process but well. The best laid plans of mice and meaces and all that. I did get some pictures of the patterns though still if that’s useful!

Slipping into your dreams to treat your body to absolute wonders, over and over again. Saying all the things you want to hear. Treating to you to heavenly desires that you always wanted but were too shy to open up about. Sex that feels a little too real. And if you happen to abruptly wake up, don’t worry, they’ll get right back to it as soon as you rest your head on that pillow.

Waking up feeling breathless and antsy, eager to dream of them again. 🩵

The Dreamweaver series returns with Part Two - To Grow a Heart on December 13th 2024

Hello Friends!

The continuation of The Dreamweaver series will begin posting on December 13th 2024 under the name Part Two: To Grow a Heart as planned. This is a direct sequel to Part One - The Solitude of Suffering.

As those who read the last chapter of A Murder by Crows already know, I have hit a rough patch in my brain's health and currently cannot handle answering comments. I try, but I'm slow. I will get back to it eventually, I promise <3

Anyway, posting will proceed as planned. Part Two is already written into something sort of postable, so when I have a cooperative mind, I'm working on Part Three.

However, I keep hitting walls, and since toxic perfectionism has already won the battle for domination over philosophies fronted by more reasonable braincells, I might need breaks this time around that I didn't during the posting of Part One.

I have to stay comfortably ahead to accommodate the supreme Queen Perfectionism. It cannot be helped. I will post a warning if/when I need those breaks, and the breaks will not be longer than 6 weeks.

As for Crows, it is a back-burner project that I do have a lot of ideas for and I do know the broad strokes of the whole story, but I need to sit down and sort those thoughts - which I can't allow myself to do while the high-priority project is in the state that it is in. It makes me anxious.

That said, there is a chance I recover and find some miraculous font of inspiration over the holidays that solves everything.

Why am I telling you all of this?

Well, this is to reassure worried people that posting will go on as planned, and to warn everyone that engagement on those first few chapters might be met with silence.

It's not because I don't care anymore or don't want to hear your thoughts - I still read them and they still mean the world to me! - it is just a lot harder to find words to put out into a realm that isn't fantasy-land right now.

Case in point: I've tried writing this post for weeks.

"No matter how many times I've tried to do that, yet an evil source prevents me from changing it..."

I felt like I have an idea about Dreamweaver Cookie feeling pity for Casalily for having an only dreadful nightmare about the Beast Cookies. They tried to change the young Cookie's nightmare into a good dream but the Beasts' dark source in the nightmare is too strong and much stronger than Dreamweaver Cookie's powers. If they had to enhanced their powers much more or the Beasts' evil corruption had ended; Casablanca Lily Cookie won't be able to have a nightmare anymore.

No Dream for You! (Dreamweaver Cookie)

Dreamweaver Cookie: “There are all kinds of dreams I collect. Dreams as colorful as decorated trees, as warm as a winter hearth, and as pure as fresh-fallen snow!”

Peppernut Cookie looked around the tree, seeing the many wonderful dreams that cookies had across the land! Until she spotted a peculiar sight, the formation of the ornaments on the tree was off with one missing ornament!

Peppernut Cookie: “It looks like a real decorated tree, I’m curious about this missing space here. Are you missing an orb?

Dreamweaver Cookie: “Y/N Cookie’s dreams. No matter how quick I am to open the gates, their orbs tend to not be among the ones I collect! Even when I’m fast, it’s like they vanish right before my eyes. I can never tell if they ever have sweet dreams or bad!”

Peppernut Cookie: “Y/N Cookie must have the happiest of dreams with Cookies all around liking them! I can’t think of them having a bad dream!”

Dreamweaver Cookie: “I want to believe that if I could get my hands on one of their orbs! I’ll figure out how to catch one, I want to see what they desire the most!”

You stir awake sometime in the night, having felt a presence approaching your dream before waking up. It was an all too familiar presence as you chuckle to yourself.

You: “Hehe, sorry. Even my very dreams should be kept from prying eyes, ha ha.”

You reached the side of your bed and brought the dreamcatcher to you, grabbing and holding the orb in your hand. The contents of your dream held within, you simply smile to yourself.

You: “Better luck next time…”
