i would love if you'd shared everything that might be in aelin's list in a world away, all the dream places she wants to go or already went 🤧🥺
First of all - I am so sorry it’s taken me so long to answer this ask 😭
Second - this list is in no way complete. I could probably double it if I gave it some more time (and maybe I’ll edit this post and add some later) but I wanted to answer this ask.
Third - some things listed are cities, some are attractions, some are landmarks or monuments…it’s really a mix of everything. And some major landmarks that cover more than one country are only listed once.
A World Away
So, without further ado, please enjoy

The Avenue of the Baobabs is a magnificent stretch of dirt road located in western Madagascar. It's a world-renowned destination, attracting visitors from all over the globe to witness the awe-inspiring sight of dozens of enormous Baobab trees lining the road.
One of the most famous Baobabs on the avenue is nicknamed "The Lovers" - two giant trees that are entwined around each other, standing tall and proud as a symbol of unity and strength. The unique appearance of these intertwined trees has captured the imagination of people from all walks of life, and they are now an iconic representation of the Avenue of the Baobabs.
Baobabs are known for their remarkable size and distinctive appearance, with thick trunks and spindly branches that often look like roots. They are an integral part of the landscape in many parts of Madagascar, and have become an important cultural symbol for the Malagasy people.
In addition to their beauty and cultural significance, Baobab trees also have significant ecological importance, serving as a source of food and shelter for various animals and playing a vital role in the ecosystem. They are also important economically, with various parts of the tree being used in traditional medicine and as a source of food, oil, and other products.
In summary, "The Lovers" are just one of the many awe-inspiring Baobab trees that adorn the Avenue of the Baobabs, showcasing the beauty and significance of these magnificent trees to the people and animals of Madagascar.

The city is famous amongst other things for the spectacular Avenue of Baobabs nearby at 20.251000°S 44.418403°E. These giant baobab trees are an 800-year-old legacy of the dense tropical forests that once throve here. Over the years, as the country's population grew, the forests were steadily cut down, leaving only the baobab trees, which the locals preserved for religious reasons. Today, deforestation still continues as large areas of this region, including some of few remaining baobabs, are cleared to make way for sugar cane plantations.

I could really do without the palliated captions. Facts. Please post more facts.

Merit Winner: Near the city of Morondava, on the West coast of Madagascar lies an ancient forest of Baobab trees. Unique to Madagascar, the endemic species is sacred to the Malagasy people, and rightly so. Walking amongst these giants is like nothing else on this planet. Some of the trees here are over a thousand years old. It is a spiritual place, almost magical.
