Tuesdays 2pm - 5pm  EST Rules Free Radio With Steve  Caplan bombshellradio.com On the next Rules Free Radio with Steve Caplan, the entire show is a tribute to the late Quincy Jones. He’s one of the most important figures in music with a career that spanned well over half a century. He was a trumpeter, composer, arranger, conductor, and producer who put out many albums of his own and worked with a who’s who of musicians going back to the 1950s. He’s worked with everyone from Jazz artists like Miles Davis, Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, and Art Farmer, to vocalists including Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, and Billy Eckstine, among others. In the third hour, we’ll focus on a lot of those earlier Jazz collaborations. His own albums in the late ‘60s and ‘70s meld contemporary R&B with Jazz. He worked on a lot of movie soundtracks including In The Heat of the Night and The Color Purple. He worked with a wide range of pop artists including teen girl singer Lesley Gore, Donna Summer, Billy Preston, Little Richard, into the hip hop era. And of course, he collaborated with Michael Jackson to produce best selling album of all time, Thriller. I’ve been listening to this hyper ass jazz music lately idk what happened to me 😭🤚🏽. Just heard it one day, I was like “Damn 🧍🏽‍♀️” and then went to go listen to it. I wanna tell my friends about it but, like, every time I tell them ab something they seem so deathly annoyed so I’m gonna tell you 😁‼️
Some of the songs I’ve been listening to and rly like: Nuttville - Buddy Rich, Do It! - Battle Jazz Big Band, Wildwood - Art Farmer Septet.
Anything cool going on w you? Just interested and don’t want to make everything about myself, but you don’t have to say anything.
Okay, that’s it. I’ll leave you alone now. Sorryyyyyy.
-Anon #1 (i’m gonna try not to make this a regular thing bc knowing myself i’ll end up annoying the shit out of you by saying something every day)
Oooooo I’m gonna have to give those a listen. I haven’t really been doing much besides working really😭. But I have been trying to get into more music of different languages. Like I feel I’ve expanded outside but not by much (like I listen to kpop and Latin/Hispanic artists with a douse of French here and there but that’s it).
I’ve also been trying to get back into drawing, but as of right now I lack inspiration. Also don’t be afraid to hit up my inbox. I’m down to talk to you anytime, I just ask you to be patient on my replies bc work do be kicking my ass😭.

The Art Farmer Septet ‎– The Art Farmer Septet (Plays The Arrangements Of Gigi Gryce And Quincy Jones) New York City and Van Gelder Studio, Hackensack, New Jersey録音、オリジナルは #PrestigeRecords (LP-7031)、本盤はOJC-054(MONO)。 #ArtFarmer (tp) #JimmyCleveland (trb) #CliffSolomon (ts) #OscarEstell (bs) #QuincyJones (p) #MonkMontgomery (elb) #SonnyJohnson (ds) Recorded by #DougHawkins Supervision by #IraGitler Arranged by Quincy Jones The Little Bandmaster"、 Gigi Gryceが手掛けた"Up In Quincy's Room"。 Art Farmer (tp) Jimmy Cleveland (trb) #CharlieRouse (ts) #DannyBank (bs) #HoraceSilver (p) #PercyHeath (b) #ArthurTaylor (ds) Arranged by #GigiGryce Recorded by #RudyVanGelder Supervision by #BobWeinstock Note by Ira Gitler 1954年6月7日、Side 1の約1年後の録音。 Elephant Walk"(Quincy Jones)はファンキーでスイング。" https://www.instagram.com/p/B5MTzasJxWC/?igshid=llkna5l0f1kx
