My daily berry harvest this time of year.
Tumblr media
I highly, highly recommend growing berries if your climate is suited to it. They are cheaper, tastier, and more nutritious than supermarket berries, and they are not that hard to grow. They are easier than most vegetables.
I thought I would give a review of the four berry varieties shown here:
• Blueberry 'Sunshine Blue': This is an ornamental blueberry. It stays small, has very pretty leaves and flowers, is mostly evergreen, and is self-fertile (most blueberry varieties are not). However, it is not as productive or as tasty as non-ornamental blueberry bushes, though it will still taste much better than anything you buy in the supermarket.
• White alpine strawberry: Alpine strawberries are fun to grow. They are very tidy, pretty plants and do not send runners everywhere. There are many different varieties, all of which make very small, cute fruit. They are famously very sweet and tasty. However, I think white alpine strawberries (which have a slight pineapple-like flavor) are not as tasty as the red ones. The big benefit of the white berries is that birds don't seem to notice them, so you don't have to use any bird deterrents to get lots of berries.
• Blackberry 'Chester': This is a thornless blackberry. I highly recommend only growing thornless or near-thornless caneberries (blackberries, raspberries, youngberries, loganberries, etc.) because they make picking fruit and garden maintenance so much easier. 'Chester' is an extremely vigorous and productive plant, and the fruit tastes better than both supermarket blackberries and wild blackberries.
• Strawberry 'Cambridge Rival': This is the yummiest strawberry I have ever tasted! It is not as productive as some strawberry varieties, and the fruit is on the small side, but it easily more than makes up for it in flavor. (Warning: If you try one, it may ruin other strawberries for you.)

F1 Livery Review time!!!!
quite late to make this but i wanted to wait until every car had been seen on track in some capacity to make this, rankings will be done out of 10 with 5 being considered average.
Red Bull 6/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As is expected from red bull at this point (sighs), not much has really changed, same usual design with the navy blue base (i prefer the brighter blue the older red bulls used), however it gets a 6 because whilst its the same thing as last year, it does still look pretty alright.
Mercedes 8/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was quite surprised by the Mercedes this year, i was just expecting another all black Mercedes. I do quite like the design for this year, mixing very well the silver and black. usually im not a fan of Mercedes liveries, i thought the black was kind of honk mi mi mi and the full silver ones (looking at you 2022) just looked kind of off to me, but this is easily Mercedes best design yeast (bread typo!?!?)
Ferrari 9/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok Ferrari, just go ahead and reveal one of the nicest looking f1 cars in while why don't you. ok but like this thing is smexy tho, i dont really have mucch to say here, it looks great. imo im prolly being picky about this but the only thing that would make it a 10/10 ferrari for me would be a bit more white but that might just be me
McLaren 5/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i have to be fully honest here, im disappointed. im really missing the blue, just the papaya and black is kind of boring, its why i didn't like the stealth mode livery from last year, and i mean its cool there's a bit of chrome, but its barely noticeable, im beginning to really miss the vibrant McLarens from 2019-2021
Aston martin 7/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
not much to say here, the green used this year is nicer, but the livery is held back by the carbon becoming a bit too noticeable for me, but its still quite nice
Alpine 2/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this isn't a unique opinion but this livery is a waste, imo alpine has the nicest colours on the grid, the blue they use is amazing (the 2021 and 22 alpines being some of the nicest f1 cars ever made) but its just wasted on this livery, there's so much damn black
Williams 7/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
similar to the aston i dont really have much to say, it looks alright, its not amazing but it works
Racing Bulls 8/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok with a livery like this i almost forgive you for the awful name, this thing looks great, the orlen sponsorship works alot better on this then it did the alphatauri, and idk if its intended or not but this looks alot like the last toro rosso cars which is pretty cool
Sauber 7/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this looks more monster themed than the team thats actually sponsored by them, similar to RB i almost forgive Sauber for the awful name, and unlike the other cars with alot of black the vibrant green works quite well and pairs well with black
Haas 4/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
its just kind of dull, the haas always looked good with alot of black but this is way too much, it looks unfinished tbh

#CrystalGeyser #CrystalGeyserNaturalAlpineSpringWater #BottledWaterReview
I tried the Crystal Geyser Natural Alpine Spring Water and it was pretty good.
This water tasted fresh and not having a plastic or a weird after taste.
This water was smooth and not hard tasting.
This water didn't taste salty like Dasani or other bottled waters that are similar
I would drink this again but mix it with a powdered drink mix or use in hot cocoa.
Got at Dollar Tree.

My Top 5 Books of 2023
In 2o23, I read a total of 71 books. Though I was far from my goal of 100, I have had some great adventures in books this year. My average star rating was 3.43, lower than I would like but unsurprising as I got on the hype-train a few times and read some popular but absolutely awful not-for-me books (cough Fourth Wing cough). But I did read plenty of great things too… I read more non-fiction,…

Ocon plays down rear-wing issues in Montreal but says Alpine 'need to review' why they finished P8
Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly left this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix disappointed for differing reasons. While Ocon was frustrated not to finish higher, Gasly was left ruing his poor luck that saw him unable to use the “potential” in Alpine's package. Ocon started the race from sixth on the grid, but a fast start meant he jumped ahead of Nico Hulkenberg into fifth in the early stages – before gaining a place when George Russell crashed into the barrier. READ MORE: Magnussen and De Vries offer differing opinions on bizarre Montreal run-off moment However, after pitting for the hards in his first stop, he lost track position to the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, as well as the Red Bull of Sergio Perez – with all three drivers staying out. And, after pitting for the second time, he ended up behind the one-stopping Alex Albon. Ocon then attempted to make his way past Albon in the closing stages of the race, but to no avail, with the Alpine racer forced to settle for eighth. And while he was happy to be back in the points, he was disappointed to not finish higher. Asked if he was pleased with the result, Ocon replied: “Pleased? No. Probably not. Happy to be in the points again, but we were fourth before all the rounds of stops. So, we need to review what happened, why we lost to all the other cars after the stops. This feature is currently not available because you need to provide consent to functional cookies. Please update your cookie preferences 2023 Canadian Grand Prix: Norris and Ocon, and Stroll and Bottas battle to the finish line “We ended up unfortunately behind Alex. It was good racing, but you can’t pass them. Doesn’t matter what car you have; their straight-line speed is really dangerous. We can’t try and do any moves. “It was good racing also with Lando [Norris] at the end. The consequence is we ended up behind, so we lost some points. So, we need to see what happens and come back from that.” READ MORE: Perez left ‘very concerned’ by lack of pace in Canada as he falls further off the championship lead TV cameras, as well as Lando Norris, noticed that the rear wing on Ocon’s A523 was oscillating quite hard, with the stewards also noting this issue. Asked after the race whether there was anything wrong, Ocon responded: “No. Carbon deflects massively. “We see it with planes, we see it with Formula 1 cars, with front wings in general, and our rear wing has been moving since the beginning of the year. This feature is currently not available because you need to provide consent to functional cookies. Please update your cookie preferences Ocon confused after dropping from P4 to a P8 finish in Canada “We need to see if that was a bit more than usual, to see if we were losing some downforce from that. But I don’t think there were any issues with that.” Team mate Gasly was the only driver to start the race on the soft tyre, from 15th on the grid, in an attempt to make up places in the opening stages. And, while he did gain a couple of spots, he found himself stuck in DRS trains all race long. READ MORE: 6 Winners and 5 Losers from the Canadian Grand Prix — Who made all the right moves in Montreal? “Clearly wasn’t our weekend in terms of luck, so we boxed the lap before the Safety Car," said Gasly. "We lost around five seconds in the first box and it just put us straight at the back of the queue. “I must say it was very easy to find the way back in the DRS train. Very difficult to pass, and all the time you lose from being at the back is extremely difficult to recover. So, I think we are back in 12th. “Just frustrating because we showed some good pace. We had some good speed from what the team were telling me, we were matching the pace from the Ferraris. “And there was clearly more potential, but we’ve got to start to the front. The quali and what happened in qualifying [on Saturday] penalised us massively for the race.” via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com
