“Mission success! The patient is going to love the cookies that Misaka got for her, says Misaka as Misaka already envisions that person’s face from Misaka’s get well gift!”

Last Order said, walking through the halls of a certain hospital.

Seeing how she and the two people she were with were here, it was apparent that the protesting crowds that were in front of the hospital earlier had dispersed thanks to Judgement and Anti-Skill, though there were a few bad apples that loitered around, showing their displeasure for one of the patients that were housed here.

The time was currently 6:32 PM, the sun had just set and it was getting dark out, the time where other incidents would spontaneously happen, but that wasn’t deterring Last Order and the two others that came with her.

“Un! Cookies are always the cure for many sicknesses! Once we feed her some, she’ll be good as new! Un! Un!”

Said a girl with blonde hair who was also holding a small box. She appeared to be around Last Order’s age and the two had gotten along with each other when they had first met. Her name was Maria something. The two came up with an idea to visit a certain superhuman and surprise her with some cookies that were apparently homemade, All in the hopes that she would get better.

Of course they did not know what was wrong with her and that it was going to take more than pastries to restore her to how she used to be.

“You know, too much sweets isn’t good for a person’s health. Eating too much will cause more harm than good.”

The third person, Misaka Mikoto remarked as she accompanied the two children to the person they were visiting. Mikoto on the other hand had no plans to go to the hospital today but she just happened to run into these two by chance, and given how things were in the city right now, there was no way she was going to let those two wander around on their own.

“But cookies will surely do the trick!  After all, she is an incredible person so cookies won’t make her fat even if she ate the whole boxes, says Misaka as Misaka asserts her belief that the cookies are the key!”

“Cupcakes are also good for rejuvenation! When we visit her again, let’s bring her those instead! Cream filled ones are the best!”

“Agreed! Misaka will burn that into her memory, says Misaka as Misaka already plans for several more store visits in the near future!”

“D-Do these two plan on stuffing her with sweets...?”

It looked like those two were going to do their own thing no matter what she said. With that said though there was an air of apprehension when it came to visiting Violet on Mikoto’s part.

After all, she had been humiliated and defeated by the very woman that was in the room they were heading towards. The same woman that pushed Mikoto over the edge and made her lose sight of her original objective at the time.

Even so, she knew the monster that had driven her to that point was not the same woman who raided MINUS to rescue the girl who was happily chatting beside her. She knew based on what she saw in district 19, she saw the girl as family and would be damned if anyone laid a finger on her, even herself.

In any rate, she felt things would be fine. Even if she did defeat her and was associated with a certain level 5, she held no ill will towards her. Perhaps when she got better, she could---

*CRASH*

A loud sound resounded through the air.

The crashing sound was enough to startle not only Mikoto, and the two girls, but the patients and staff that were either in the halls or in their rooms.

Mikoto had a bad feeling.

There was only one person who was currently here that could make such a sound. It was hard to imagine that sound coming from anyone else aside from a select few.

Mikoto found herself running towards the sound and found herself in front of a certain hospital room, a hospital room that was ironically, the place where they were headed.

Its sole occupant was in bed, fast asleep as could be. One had to wonder how someone could stay asleep after a noise like that taking place. However, it didn’t look like she was the one who actually caused it.

“What in the...”

Mikoto looked and saw the destruction that laid near.

The wall had been completely destroyed as if some force had pushed through, and it looked powerful enough that it had destroyed at least two or three walls of the neighboring hospital rooms. In those rooms were the confused and terrified patients who had no idea what the hell just happened.

And Mikoto noticed that the window to Violet’s room was open, the cold winter air entering the room. There was one obvious question.

Violent Violet could not have done this. It did not look like she even moved a muscle in the time this happened. The only clue that was left was the open window, which meant someone else had been here, but who?

Who was here and what did they attack?

“W-Why is he on my mind so much lately....?”

“Toumaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....”

“You’ve got some explaining to do Idiot.”

“Wait, Misaka-san? Why are you biri-biriing all of a sudden? Index, please retract those teeth of yours! Why are you guys so mad?!”

“Come now Kamijou-san, we know about your secret ability. If you give us more information we promise you won’t be hurt too badly~”

“What’s with that dangerous smile all of a sudden? And who even are you?! What did I do to get you and those two so mad with me?!  Such Misfortune!”

Suddenly, these five were reminded of some horrific event and felt uneasy-

For some odd reason, Misaka Mikoto found herself in a certain area in district 7.

It was an area that had been the battleground of a monstrous woman who had utterly defeated her and what she felt like the entirety of Academy City. Even after she had been taken out of the fight, she had been witness to everything that happened afterwards and the chaos that had unfolded. She knew that had Accelerator not showed up, she seriously doubted that she would be here reflecting back on what happened.

Mikoto had no quarrels with the woman that had nearly killed her, since it was clear that she was not in control of her actions. someone or... something had twisted her into the thing that she was forced to fight. She did not know what it was, but she felt as if it were something that was beyond her understanding.

Even though the incident happened nearly a month and a half ago, it still struck her core. That despite her best effort, her power as the 3rd ranked Level 5 meant nothing in the face of such a monster.

But more than that, she had shown a side of herself that she would never have allowed to surface. One could say that she was driven by the flow of the battle, but she had been in similar instances before,and here, she was willing to become a monster herself in order to achieve a goal.

That was, to reach the same stage where a certain level 0 stood on. She had wanted to catch up to him so she could understand what it was he had been forced to deal with on what she felt was a regular basis for him.

There were other things in this city that was happening that she knew nothing about, some of which said level 0 was involved in. Was there a side to the world that Mikoto wasn’t aware of? Was Academy City plotting something? Or was there something else going on that was beyond the world’s reach and understanding?

“Sigh.... this isn’t getting me anywhere.”

The area she was in was full of destroyed buildings, torn up roads, shattered earth that looked unnatural. The entire area had caution tape around it so it was clear that she was the only one there.

Still, she wanted to investigate on her own to find out what exactly was happening in this city and what was driving the many incidents that took place in the past month. A clue, anything that would let her onto that stage she sought out.

Meanwhile in A Certain Town, a group of girls arrived at a certain hotel.

“Maaan~! It’s nice to finally get down to the shore! You don’t find places like this in Academy City.”

“I agree Saten-san. A nice getaway from the daily craziness was needed.”

“Ah, is this the hotel we will be staying in for the net few days?”

“It is. I read the reviews Shirai-san, while it’s not high class, it’s very popular in this town and highly rated.”

“Well, I suppose it’s fine then. Let’s go get set up in our rooms and change into our swimsuits, onee-sama~.”

“W-Wait a minute, we should at least get some food before heading down to the beach. Look, this hotel has a restaurant and everything.”

“I agree, Misaka-san. Let’s get lunch first!”

“If you say so Onee-sama...” She really wanted to see MIkoto’s swimsuit.

“Guess I’ll wait until later to see what Uiharu brought...”

“I don’t know what’s worse right now: the fact that Evie’s got some kind of weapon ready to destroy a city or the fact there’s clones of...him walking around.”

That last bit she said with disgust and a hint of fear.

“...I wonder what’s up with that guy all of a sudden?”

“So it’s snowing in places like England, yet over here in Japan, it’s almost 90 degrees... can we change into our summer uniforms already?”

“....Silver sister, Shokuhou, we’re finding out who this girl is. Now.”

tetsuwan-atom: "Hey, Mikoto, everything alright?" Asked Bowen, who happened to be passing by.

“It just... feels like everything is spiraling out of control, you know? Between the incidents, MINUS, that idiot and those royals from overseas, it’s like no matter how hard I try, I just can’t keep up with all of it.”

Mikoto let those words out as she gave another sigh. Come to think of it, this guy usually hung around him as well, didn’t he? Bowen was his name if she recalled.

“...The Honkai? What’s that?”

Mikoto asks, looking at a message on her phone that says, “The Honkai are coming. You have been warned.” It reminded her of that message she got a while back from the Republic of something.
