The Accountant's Guide to Taking Down an Evil Vampire Lord Typeset

Not a free typeset this time, but one done for the Baldur's Gate fandom! A fandom that is one of my nearest and dearests...*coughs* Anyway, this typeset comes from @cinnamontails-ff's suggestion on my post yesterday! I was feeling stuck working on some pd typesets, and wanted to take a break and do some fanfic ones instead. They suggested this BG3 fic they had written, and as soon as I saw the title I knew I needed to typeset it! I'm a sucker for a good title...though not a bloodsucker, as is some pale elf's case! Thanks again for the suggestion! This was a lot of fun to work on, and I hope I was able to do a semblance of justice for this story! Some interior shots are below the break. Batstarion causing havoc

I imagine him being distracting during the great investigation, where Scarlett is working so hard to collect all the dirt on a vampire lord and he is just hanging out there, annoying her. Stealing pens as a misbehaving cat, posing seductively and when there is nothing else to steal, he would take Scarlett's inkpots as hostage and propose different little deals for letting her get her ink back. His demands may or may not involve biting, blood and chin scritches. 💙

We need the spawn Astarion to be able to turn to a bat, so we can have that small chaotic fellow in the fic The Accountant’s Guide to Taking Down an Evil Vampire Lord (and maybe bagging Astarion while you are at it) by @cinnamontails-ff as well!

2024 Writing Year in Review

Fine, I'll pull a @alwaysmauria and say that when enough people tag you, you finally give in to one of them, albeit begrudgingly.

Words posted (on AO3): ~370k, excluding those I share with @strixamans and @vakariansyndrome, so probably ~330k

Fandoms: BG3 & DAtV

Skipping past stats. No one but those who sort by hits or kudos should care about this. And if you do, that's fine.

Fic I spent the most time on: Fated, my first baby. It's a gruesome 162,186 words-filled monster, but I love her for all she taught me.

Fic I spent the least time on: The Lord, the Thief, their Mistress & Fart's Lover, only because @vakariansyndrome did most of the heavy lifting after the words spewed out of us.

Favourite thing I wrote: Does Emmrich still know how to do dishes. It started off poorly, I couldn't get Emmrich's voice to sound less like Sherlock Holmes and House MD combined, but this story made me reflect on the process of writing more than anything had before. And it's probably no coincidence that it's currently ranked my most-read one-shot.

Favourite fics I read this year: I saw you guys doing 4+1 here, but fuck that. #tageveryone

Resonance by @tthisonebites and, honestly, anything you ever write. But that one was viscerally good and stuck with me. One of my favorite authors.

Midwinter's Rest by Professor_Rye. And not just because this was a gift from them, but they truly hit me in the feels with anything they write.

Waiting, Jealous Little Thing, Reckless Little Love, Drizzt, darling? Really? by @vakariansyndrome - you are a writing machine, woman. You edge me (in writing) like no other. And yes, that Halsin fic will forever be on my mind.

Not an exotic pet by Cesela. You made me love bats and I love your butt(inside joke).

Strange Highways by @nocryptographer and your poetry. Still have not finished it, I am afraid I will no longer hate Cazador. You are too powerful and someone must stop you before you ascend.

Writing goals for 2025: Oh boy, do I have plans. Whether or not I act on them is another matter. My goal for this year is quality over quantity and I started taking steps towards that. Stay tuned.

New works for 2025: I will continue working on the short fics in the Bellara Lutare serials, which is currently the thing that brings me most joy to write about. And probably many short stories. I can't or don't want to commit to any long fics right now. I have too many wips that stare at me and I hope I might one day return to them, but likely not right now.

Salt the earth behind you : A Pirate Astarion AU in which our favorite vampire is the captain of a ship. He tries to save his crew from a mysterious curse with the help of Beatrice, a tavern waitress who holds the key to their freedom.

Life in the fast line : A fic I wrote as a gift for @davenswitcher and her wonderful story The Rockstar and the Groupie ! If you love Rockstarion and 80's music, please give it a read. I can't recommend it enough!

Deep rooted : Another fic I wrote as a gift for @cinnamontails-ff as a little continuation for her wonderful story The Accountant’s Guide to Taking Down an Evil Vampire Lord (and maybe bagging Astarion while you are at it). "Deep Rooted" for Cinnamontails

Here's my take on the prompt "Sun" for the @bg3-apprecimaytion event ! This fic is dedicated to @cinnamontails-ff and to her absolutely stunning story " The Accountant's Guide to Taking Down an Evil Vampire Lord ( and maybe bagging Astarion while you are at it)". In this short story, I tried to imagine what Astarion and Scarlett's life would like once they are finally settled into their little house near the harbour !

Here's a little snippet of it :

"The sound of her voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he jogged inside, finding her sitting on a little chair near the front door, cradling her now very round belly. Her copper curls had grown long, falling gracefully over her shoulders like a red veil when she bent down to try and put on her boots again. “This little angel in here is getting in the way of me doing the simplest of things lately,” she said as he kneeled in front of her and gently started to slide her foot inside the shoe. “Maybe it is a sign that you should stay home with me today. I would cook something nice and warm and then I would read you a book while you rest, hm ?” he cooed once he was done, nuzzling against her baby bump and looking up at her with what he knew to be his best puppy eyes."
