Hi again, it's the crunchy fish stick! (oops, late reply...been busy lol) You and your QPP are really cute and I'm happy for you guys!!

Honestly I reached out to begin with cause at the time there was this online friend who I wasn't sure if I was squishing or crushing on or not at the time (he felt similarly, but without the squish part) and we agreed to give it some time to see if we should try dating or just leave it as is...and I felt like I should research because of that to find out if a) maybe I'm arospec, b) maybe we should QPR, c) is it really that difficult to be long distance.... After an evening of research and some thinking afterwards, it turns out that I feel aroflux! (and if you feel aroflux then that means you are one, like with everything else) Soooooo we had a conversation and now we've been dating for almost a month despite being half the world apart/having a 10 hr gap (funny how that's kinda similar to you and your QPP lol) and it's nice

He's allocishet (is that actually offensive?? I still don't know ^^;) but it felt great that he actually listened to my idea of "should we QPR" (even though we didn't go with that) and he didn't mind that I'm aroflux and yeah, it was a good feeling. Hopefully we won't miss each other too much cause we're both kinda busy people and also unable to travel for some years...though I guess ping spree-ing (spamming) each other on Discord in our spare time helps lol

Ummm idk if it's okay to be prattling on so much with technically irrelevant stuff ^^; but it felt right to share. Tbh I feel like that other anon who said sex was like donuts to them, but for me it's romance--it's good and fun, enjoyable when it happens, but I could see myself living my life without it just fine. (though I've only been in an online situationship that ended badly before, until recently with my now-bf...) I think the idea that being without a romantic partner for life or being a forever virgin is the worst thing ever to happen...I think people who have that idea and mindset stuck in their heads are kind of silly tbh--there's so much to life outside of romance or sex! (I'm sure you know that fully well too lol, this is me agreeing) Although I'd like to try kissing and other romantic gestures or maaaaaybe sex in the future, they don't seem like goals to me atm--is this something allos could think too?

Hi t!! I just read Reaching New Heights and I've never liked a fic so fast. Bless that anon for sending the ask and thank you for making it come true in the best way. I have to admit I'm a sucker for soft virginity/first time trope, maybe because it's something I've never had. It's so soft and sweet and smoking hot all at the same time and the epitome of fictional men written by women (I mean this as a compliment and I'd choose fictional men over men in real life any day, duh) it instantly reminds me of the episode on Unwaxed podcast where Emily Morse talked about how some so many portrayal of sex scenes in movies and stuff aren't realistic like women actually need time to properly warm up and it's just not realistic for them to have an orgasm in two minutes in an elevator or something. I mean we can all dream in fictional world, but it's just awesome from time to time to read something that has the proper build up (the part with the kisses rather than just rushing into it....top tier writing) I saw dee reblogs it with the tag "men take notes" and I 🙌🙌🙌 I am on my period and anxious as f^ck because of a task I have for tomorrow but coming cross this piece of art feels like a kiss on the forehead. bless your heart for making a stranger feel so soft, mushy, and happpy that she cries a little....THANK YOU SO MUCH. Hello, lovely 🤍 let me just say, your words have kept a smile on my face all day long. I wanted to take a minute to formulate a proper response, because you have no idea how appreciative I am for you!

I have also found myself enjoying the virginity/first time trope, and I tend to believe that it’s because my first time was nothing short of awful (and that’s putting it… lightly) and I have spent my entire life dreaming of fictional men that would treat me better than real life men.

I was so nervous to post it, as well as Picasso, which I posted some time ago, now. It was my way of airing out my desire for someone who treated me well, yet I still recognized that first time fics are very difficult to write well. I also fear that with a request like such, that I cannot capture the readers vision as clear or well as they would like me to.

As I posted it and read some messages and comments, I realized that there’s a lot more people who have had the same types of experiences and feelings about the topic than I originally thought. To hear that this made you feel such a way makes me incredibly happy, and I cannot express my gratitude enough.

As for the details, sometimes I feel like it’s easy to forget the build up in lieu of the main event. Especially when there’s so many fics out there that are hot, and exceptionally well written. I hate to say that I did end up cutting out quite a bit of stuff from the main draft, and now that I read this, it makes me feel as though I should have left it. To know that was the part that stuck out with you makes me incredibly happy, because it stuck out to me, too. (I swear I could write a novel about good foreplay and only that, because that’s how much it means to me.)

Good banter and build up are just as essential as the main event to me while creating a scene, as well as a relationship to the story. In a world where it’s normalized for men to leave women unfulfilled, I think it’s quite important to focus on that more than anything else, especially in these types of fics.

I am so grateful for your kindness, and for everyone else who took time to leave a comment. Messages like this and people like you are the reason I come on here and share my work, and I would not be here without your support. HAH okay i have an answer for this one: my steddie two night stand au!!!!! it was going to be my fic for the steddie big bang but i had to drop out of that bc irl got in the way, but i have like. at least half of the fic written already and a solid plan for the rest and i was totally loving what i had for it, and ive been DYING to write a two night stand for literally any fandom i've ever been in so i REALLY want to finish this one at some point... i hope i will!!!

What are your writing strengths? i would probably say my characterization!!! i try really really hard with that and i've gotten lots of comments that have pointed this out specifically, which makes me extra proud!

What are your writing weaknesses? i feel like sometimes when i get too in my head about things i end up, like, getting kind of repetitive, like i'll start using "smile" or describing eyes too much lol. i always try to like fix this when i edit before posting, but it's definitely something i notice myself doing.

Oh, soooooo.... you’re really coming at me with that level of half-baked assumption to bring down "Gilded" right? Let’s break this down, because it sounds like you’re making a whole lot of noise without even reading the material.

First off—I'm 137,881 words deep, six chapters in, and I’m yet to show any kind of abuse between Elrond and Galadriel.

Nothing.

Nada.

Not even a trace of the dynamics you’re hinting at.

This is The Hunger Games inspired, so yes, it's a world where tension, psychological games, and manipulation are part of the larger framework—but not between my main characters.

Elrond and Galadriel are each other’s anchor in a brutal world, not each other’s trauma, thank you very much.

If you’re seeing something else, kindly direct me to the exact scenes where you believe I’m showing anything close to “abuse.”

Go on—I’ll wait.

Ah, nothing? Well, of course not, because those scenes don’t exist.

You’d know that if you’d done anything other than skim a few tags.

For someone tossing out accusations, it seems you’ve got a pretty selective memory (or, rather, no memory at all of what actually happens in the fic).

And let me clear up your confusion while we’re at it: the only manipulation implied around Galadriel is in that one confrontation scene—the one near the end of a chapter where Elrond, Nimue, and Gil confront Celeborn, exposing his behavior and schemes. That moment is explicitly set up to call out Celeborn's actions and lay bare his plans.

But naturally, you wouldn’t know that, because reading to the end of a chapter is apparently too much to ask, right?

If you’d even skimmed the prologue—or, let's be honest, any part of the fic—you’d realize that the entire Elrond and Galadriel dynamic here is intentional, layered, and deeply nuanced. Their relationship isn’t some surface-level romance; it’s an exploration of love and loyalty in a world that’s actively hostile to them. That dynamic demands a level of complexity, and if you’d taken the time to actually read the story, you’d know that. But alas, here we are, with you clutching your pearls over content you haven’t even tried to understand.

It’s almost funny that you’re so hellbent on proving my Elrondriel is “abusive” when, if you actually followed the narrative, you'd see an entirely different story. I mean, come on—I’m more than happy to break it down for you with actual text if that’s what it’ll take!

Here, let me share a few choice snippets for you, so you don’t even have to work for it:

Chapter 1:

Before she could react, he grabbed her hands, his fingers wrapping tightly around hers, almost too tight as he knelt next to her seat. The suddenness of it made her breath catch in her throat, her heart pounding in her chest. She felt the tremor in his hands, the barely contained rage that still burned beneath the surface, but she also felt something else. A desperation, a need to make her understand.

“_ Look at me, Galadriel…”; He said, his voice low, almost a growl. His hands gripped hers firmly, pulling her closer until she had no choice but to meet his gaze. “ I chose this. I chose to be here with you. You didn’t force me into anything.”

His words, though meant to reassure, only made her feel worse.

She could barely look at him, her vision blurring as her eyes filled with unshed tears. The intensity of his gaze, the way he held her hands like a lifeline, it was too much. She was shaken to the core, her entire body trembling as she stood there, feeling more vulnerable than she ever had before.

“_ I’m here because I want to be.”; Elrond continued, his voice quieter now but no less fierce. “ I will not abandon you. I will not let you face this alone.”

Chapter 3:

“_ Galadriel, listen to me.”; He whispered urgently, his voice low and fervent, eyes searching hers for any sign of reassurance, any glimmer of the strength he knew she held, but which had been chipped away in those moments. “ Don't you dare listen to them.”

His words came out fast, tumbling over one another, his need to comfort her overpowering his usual measured way of speaking.

“_ You're perfect, do you hear me? You are strong, you are beautiful, and there is not a single thing about you that needs their approval. Not now, not ever. Do you understand?”

Galadriel's breath hitched as he spoke, the warmth of his hands grounding her, but the fear was still there, bubbling beneath the surface. The words of Lady Aldreth echoed in her mind, twisting her confidence into knots. She tried to speak, tried to tell him she was fine, that she could handle it, but the lump in her throat only grew tighter.

Elrond's grip on her tightened slightly, his fingers brushing through strands of her hair as he leaned in closer, lowering his voice to a tender murmur, now speaking in their shared language, his beloved Elvish.

“_ You’re perfect Galadriel.”; He whispered, his forehead pressing gently against hers. “ Your light shines brighter than any of them can see. They are blind to your beauty because they do not know your heart.”

Chapter 4:

“_ Can I brush your hair?”; Elrond’s voice broke through her thoughts, gentle and tentative, as if he were afraid to intrude on a sacred moment.

Galadriel blinked, surprised by the request. It was something so simple, yet so intimate. Celeborn had never asked to do something like that, and the thought of Elrond’s hands in her hair sent a warm flutter through her stomach.

She hesitated for a heartbeat, but then nodded slowly, her heart racing.

“_ I’d like that…”; She replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

A warm smile broke across Elrond’s face, his brown eyes sparkling with genuine happiness.

“_ Really? Good!”; He moved to gather a brush from a nearby table, his movements fluid and confident. Galadriel settled onto a plush chair, the soft fabric welcoming her as she felt a mix of anticipation and calm wash over her.

Elrond stepped behind her, and the moment his fingers first glided through her hair, a soft sigh escaped her lips.

He was gentle, his touch delicate as he separated the strands, untangling any knots with utmost care. As he worked, she felt a warmth spread through her, the tender intimacy of the moment washing over her like a comforting wave. Galadriel closed her eyes, allowing herself to be lost in the sensation, in the sheer domesticity of it all.

The fact that this felt so real and natural with him made her heart swell.

“_ Your hair is beautiful.”; Elrond said softly, his voice a warm murmur in the quiet space between them. “ It’s like spun gold.”

She opened her eyes, glancing up at him through the mirror’s reflection. Elrond’s gaze was focused on his task, a gentle smile on his lips, and the sight made her stomach do a flip. The way he nuzzled into her hair, inhaling deeply as though she were a treasured flower, made her heart race even faster.

“_ Thank you.”; She replied, her voice soft and sincere. “ I don’t think anyone has ever taken the time to do this for me.”

He paused for a moment, his fingers stilled in her hair, same for the brush.

“_ Then it’s about time someone did.”; He replied, his tone serious yet tender. She felt the weight of his words sink in, a promise of care and affection that felt profoundly different from anything she’d known before.

Just as she was about to respond, Elrond scooped her up effortlessly, lifting her from the chair in one fluid motion. Galadriel squeaked out in surprise, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck as he cradled her against him.

Chapter 4:

Elrond cradled her face gently, his thumbs brushing softly against her cheeks as he leaned in closer.

“_ You’re far too beautiful to be weighed down by tears.”;He murmured, his voice soothing as he pressed his lips against her damp skin, kissing away the remnants of her sadness. Each gentle kiss was a balm, a reminder that she wasn’t alone in this moment and Galadriel leaned into it, sniffling softly.

She felt the warmth of his body enveloping her, a cocoon of safety that made her heart flutter. He pulled her closer, his hand tangling gently in her hair, coaxing her head to rest against his shoulder. She nuzzled into the crook of his neck, inhaling his familiar scent, a scent that felt like home, wrapping around her like a comforting blanket.

“_ Let it all out, my star.”; He whispered, using the pet name he had affectionately bestowed upon her. “ You deserve to feel everything—every joy, every pain, every moment of tenderness.”

With a soft sigh, she tightened her grip around him, the warmth radiating from his body soothing her frazzled nerves.

“_ I just don’t want to hurt anyone, Elrond. Celeborn…”; Her voice trailed off, but Elrond could sense the turmoil swirling within her.

“_ I know.”; He said, his voice firm yet gentle. “ But you have to remember that Celeborn made his choices, and those choices do not define your worth.”

He paused, taking a deep breath, as if choosing his words with care.

“_ You deserve so much better than to feel like a burden. You deserve to feel cherished, to be treated with the love and tenderness that you so freely give to others.”

His words resonated deep within her, and for the first time in a long while, she felt a glimmer of hope begin to break through the fog of her sadness.

“_ It’s just hard to let go…”; She admitted, her voice muffled against his neck.

“_ Letting go is a process.”; Elrond reassured her, his fingers continuing to play gently with her hair. “ But it’s a process you shouldn’t have to face alone. You have so much strength within you, Galadriel, more than you realize. You’ve fought for others, defended those you care about, and yet you find it difficult to accept that you are worthy of the same care and affection.”

Chapter 6:

“_ You are the light in my darkness, Elrond.”; She whispered, her voice thick with a sorrow that mirrored his. “ The one thing I cannot lose.”

And then, as if drawn by a force beyond either of them, they kissed again, more fiercely this time.

A kiss full of longing and years of unspoken yearning, a taste of something they could never fully claim but could no longer deny. Her hands traveled over his shoulders, feeling the solid strength beneath her touch, while his fingers traced her face as if he feared she might vanish if he stopped touching her. Each caress charged with desperation, an acknowledgment of all they’d fought through, the sacrifices and the heartache, and all that had brought them here.

He felt her tears mingle with his as they kissed, felt her shudder as his hands moved to cradle her face, his thumbs brushing away the dampness from her cheeks. And he knew—knew with a certainty that went beyond reason—that he would do anything to keep her safe, even if it meant giving everything he was.

“_ Galadriel…”; He murmured against her lips, the words breaking, barely holding back the wave of emotion in his voice. “ I would tear down mountains… forsake every oath… just to keep you safe. You’re my beginning, my end.”

The words shattered her, his resolve a balm and a wound, because she knew what it cost him to say them. Her hands cupped his face, her thumbs brushing along the line of his cheekbones, feeling his skin warm under her touch, feeling the tremor of restraint in his breath.

“_ I would have you, even if it’s fleeting.”;She whispered, her voice a fragile thread, woven through with both love and a sorrow she could no longer deny. “ I would have every part of you… even if the world should burn for it.”

Their mouths met again, a desperate, searing kiss that felt like both a beginning and an ending. His hands slid down her arms, wrapping around her waist, pulling her closer until there was no space left between them, only the rapid beating of their hearts, a frantic symphony in the stillness of the night. As he deepened the kiss, one hand moved to the back of her neck, holding her there as if afraid to let her go, as if this moment could hold them forever.

When they finally pulled apart, breathless and teetering on the edge of both joy and despair, he rested his forehead against hers, his voice a broken murmur in the quiet.

“_ I am yours, in this life and the next… no matter the cost. Remember that, meleth nin. Whatever happens tomorrow-...” 

She didn’t let him finish. She leaned in again, as if unable to part from him, part from his touch, her lips meeting his.  As their lips met yet again, the flood of emotions surged forth like a river breaching its banks.

What had begun as soft, tentative touches quickly turned into something fierce and uncontainable. Elrond felt the dam within him finally crack and then shatter altogether, letting loose all the feelings he had so carefully buried for years.

He held her as if letting go would mean losing a part of his soul, his fingers gripping her waist with a fervor that bordered on desperation. His other hand cradled her face, thumb brushing the dampness from her cheeks, but new tears slipped from her eyes to replace those he wiped away.  Elrond’s shoulders shuddered as he broke for air, his forehead resting against hers. 

And there is even more.

And so, dear reader, here’s a thought for your next critique: try actually reading the material before attempting to dismantle it. I know, a shocking suggestion, but even the wisdom of Númenor would have counseled nothing less! Because while you parade around with baseless claims, those of us who actually invest time, heart, and effort into crafting these worlds understand one simple truth: true strength lies in knowing the material before you dare to challenge it.

If you’d done your homework—if you’d braved even the smallest fraction of the journey I’ve mapped out across these chapters—then perhaps your words would carry the weight of an actual critique instead of the feeble tremor of someone who can’t tell Angband from Aman. I won’t stand here in the shadows debating figments of your imagination while the real story, rich with its own light and shadow, lies unread before you.

Oh, and one last point: if you'd even taken a minute to glance at the comments, you'd have seen the energy, the depth, and the love I’ve poured into this story—and that readers have recognized and appreciated. The feedback alone would have clued you in to the layers of complexity and respect embedded in Elrond and Galadriel’s dynamic, but clearly, you couldn’t even be bothered with that too.

Why did you do it, you could've just said nothing" Also, please. Stop it with French or ask me. I'm willing to help you with French but don't post something in French without proofreading because there are A LOT of English sayings that are REALLY weird (in a creepy-pedophilic way) in French (all the things including "girl" or "boy", like PLEASE DO NOT TRANSLATE "MY DARLING GIRL").

SORRY i keep coming here to yell !! you got me thinking about cdramas (& t dramas) i enjoyed and then forgot about :"] i watched 如果奔跑是我的人生 earlier this year and the ending lost me, but i was quite captivated by its 20+ episodes before. it centres around parental relationships (asian) and, i don't know much about dance at all but a main character is a dancer and her story made me feel things. the performances were sick, in my unprofessional opinion! I'm Fine is a gorgeous ost track. btw.... i've started rewatching 不良执念清除师 again and i CANNOT RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY ENOUGH. i've been thinking about it (on ep 5 LOL) and i actually don't think the ending dropped the thread or ball or 链子 or however that saying goes (im fever SORRY.... i think it was cathartic and beautiful in the way a galaxy is— i just could not get enough of those guys T__T 不良执念清除师 is about sulky teen (??) guys moving through the world with so much heart. it's about LOVE and ART and how the living go on after tragedy, it's about how. how (PARDON ME....) we get to keep everything we've ever loved for even a fraction of a moment & what we are doing is worthwhile even if it is very small !!!!! it is a show that is, in Voice from IMBD's words, an outstanding Taiwanese drama that excels in every aspect, because it was made with so much care and love...(meta!) also, gay people

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? With the angstiest ENDING? I’d have to go for Until the dance ends… (I usually write happy-ish endings even to extremely angsty fics) Also The Girl of Silver ends on a fairly depressing note (but gods I still love the fic!)

I write loads of happy fics and happy endings, but among my longer (and finished) works, I'd say The Knight and the Dragon and A Lonely Place both have very sweet endings!

8. Do you get hate on fics? I think there was a bot commenting something about Jesus and how homosexuality is a sin dfhgjkjsfg But other than that and from actual users, no!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? No. I have written a few suggestive scenes and making out, but nothing going beyond that.

1) oh god, I actually don't listen to music while I write so this is kind of a tough one. I do have this one 'theme song' for the evil version of Kisuke in Imperfect though, it is..

...which is this gratingly happy electronica track that I'd have a hard time recommending to anyone. But uh.. lol this hard to explain. It reminds me of having a revelation while in a really unstable headspace, like the euphoria that might come with that. And 'for me' is how he views Mayuri so🤷

4) Hmm I actually don't have that many that are officially in the works (as in I have words written down for them).. there's just my AFK Arena fic, which is more on hiatus than wip status🤔 And my Mayuri x reader that i want to turn into a compilation. But I have like.. 3 or 4 other ideas I wish I could just manifest into existence lol

15) good question, I don't! Fic titles are the bane of my existence and I am soooooo bad at coming up with them. That's why Imperfect wound up being called Imperfect and not something more unique... that's also why I have a FFVII fic called 'at least he's hot'🤦 my brain just shuts down and I can't think of jack shit lmao. Chapter titles are awesome and I used to do them for my older fics, but somewhere along the line I stopped. For me, I think that ships are normal for fandoms, especially for kpop fans, something I've read a lot is that "It's better for them to have relationships with each other than other people" and I feel that it is a very toxic thought, if at all. Are you really a fan? Shouldn't you be happy because your idol is happy? I'm fine with ships where they don't involve +18 things, because at least I know people who consider their idols to have such a beautiful friendship that they don't consider that someone other than the other person in the ship can know them and treat them better, so I think it's not something bad, however, I also don't like the idea that they assume someone's sexuality because you don't know how the other person feels, of course, being a public figure they must be used to that kind of comments, making it uncomfortable but "bearable"? , but already, the comments +18 do make me uncomfortable and something that should not be mentioned because they are messing so much with the integrity, friendship, and sexuality of the idol.

while most idols i don’t believe give a rats ass about the ships (you know part of the job description and if they’re okay they play that role well) there could be some that DO have a problem with it. if the idols are participating and show clear signs of not really caring that’s good they can have fun with their fans as long as both sides realize that it’s just all fun and games and not get their wires crossed. when i think about nct ships that seem to have fun it’s renhyuk and yumark. i want to say markhyuk but mark has shown clear signs that he does have boundaries lol sorry haechan 😂

i also wonder and this is through the words of my mom (which i never thought about till she said it) but i wonder if fans realize they are inadvertently obsessing (i wanted to say f*tishizing) over male x male relationships. i see this in both male kpop groups and with the anime community as well. ppl drawing pictures, writing stories about male characters and real life people acting in a sexual nature with each other. while i myself take part in fan fiction i don’t write bxb stuff at all. because that could really make someone super uncomfortable depending on their own personal beliefs. (but there was this one baekyeol story i read YEARS AGO that had me crying it was soooooo good!!!! 😭😭😭😭 don’t ask what it was called cuz i tried to hunt that story down but i think the person removed it 😩 it was soooo good….)

i see most of this behavior on twitter and not on tumblr. on tumblr it’s fans “claiming” an idol is theirs. though it’s for fun their words are still 😬😳😬😳 like if i were an idol i’d be scared of a few of them lol 😂 maybe i just end up on the perverse side of twitter and tumblr somehow 🤷🏽‍♀️😅 it is funny to read some of it🤣
