In one timeline, Zelda cries. She spends her late teenage years and young adulthood sobbing, emotionally a widow by the design of her own plans. She spends years heartbroken and mourning the Hero she loved and sent away in hopes of restoring the childhood stolen from him.
In another timeline, Zelda is confused. She thought the fairy boy who helped her save her kingdom was her friend, and that he would always be there to play with her. She spends her entire youth wondering why her Hero is so haunted, and why he can't look at her without seeming like he's about to cry.
In both timelines, the kingdom needs a Prince-Consort and an heir, not just a young Queen pining over a boy from the forest, so she agrees to an arranged marriage. She marries a man she does not love, and bears a child, and tries to be the best Queen that she possibly can.
In one timeline, her love and loss are not a secret, it becomes a common saying that the rains beginning to flood the land are a reflection of the tears their Queen sheds for her long lost love.
In another timeline, she pines silently for her Hero, simply watching in heartbreak as his inner demons drive him mad until he is merely a shade of his former self and disappears.
In both timelines, her heir grows, marries, and has a daughter of their own.
In one timeline, this princess - not the Sacred Princess but one of the sacred line nonetheless - grows up with stories of her grandmother's life as a Sheikah and the Hero she loved and lost. She grows up with stories of how when you fall in love, you should hold on tight, never let it go, and never waste a moment with them. As the flood waters rise, she swears she won't make the same mistake as her grandmother made. She won't let a second with her love be wasted, so she runs away from the palace, following the sailor she loves out to sea.
In another timeline, that same princess grows up with firm and unwavering expectations of what her royal duty is and how exactly she is expected to see that through. She grows up with a grandmother who married for duty despite her love being right there, knowing that she too is to marry an appropriate suitor when she comes of age. It never even crosses her mind that she could have fought to be with her love.
In both timelines, this princess bears the next Sacred Princess.
In one timeline, the next Zelda is born free as the waves beneath her. Her name is Zelda as her mother couldn't bear to break that far with tradition, but such isn't a name fitting for a pirate, so her middle name is all she ever knows. She grows up free and feral, sunkissed and smirking, allowed to be wild and go wherever the wind takes her.
In another timeline, the next Zelda is born as the sun begins to set over Hyrule. She grows up sheltered in a palace of rules and expectations. She learns to hide both smiles and tears, nevermind any improper impulses that might cross her mind. She grows up as a proper princess, internally screaming for anything more than the darkness around her.
In both timelines, Zelda finds her Hero. She finds Link, or rather he finds her, and they don't let go this time. In this lifetime they will get their happy ending, together, and they will fight anyone who tries to take it away from them.
(Aka: my brain realized that both TP and WW are next lifetime direct sequels to OoT. And now all I can think is that TP Zelda got ALL the anxiety in the timeline split, and that if Tetra ever met Midna they would get along like a house fire in that there would be no survivors)

Tetra - The Captain
Age: 14
Link: Hero of the Winds
• Definitely the wild card of the team, she has a very wide skill set and excellent combat abilities despite not knowing magic.
• When she met the other Zeldas, she wanted to suppress that side of her and thought that they would all be stuck up princesses, but after she got to know them and learned more about her heritage, she learned to embrace being Zelda while still staying true to herself.
• Unlike Flora, she isn’t very interested in learning magic and is much more interested in exploring the new lands she is brought to and learning how to fight better.
• She likes to prank the others every now and again, but she can sometimes take things a little too far. She is too afraid to prank lullaby, however because despite her calm exterior she can be very intimidating when needed. She is also the most competitive of all the Zeldas with her, Sun, Athena and Fable usually getting into intense contests and competitions.
• She can sometimes be a little immature when it comes to important tasks or issues, but the others don’t hold it against her.
• She is a great storyteller and tells the most amazing tales of her adventures at sea.
• Often ropes Dot into her pranks, much to Dots dismay, and likes to wander off with Flora.
• Has the stickiest fingers in all of Hyrule, and is a bit of a Kleptomaniac. The Zeldas have to keep a very close eye on her whenever they’re in markets or Castletown as she is all but guaranteed to pickpocket someone. Whenever anything is missing the blame always falls on her.
• Suprisingly fierce for her age, the others admire her a lot for her bravery and strength.
• A lot more savvy and world weary (wise, if you will) than Wind. Even though she is just three months older, she acts much more mature than him.
• She is an out-of-the-box thinker and always comes up with creative (if not chaotic) solutions to the problems the Zeldas face. No matter how outlandish her plans are, they always work out in the end. They drew the line at Aurora being shot out of a canon though. Tetra claimed it was a perfectly adequate form of travel.
• Whenever anyone argues with Tetra, to their annoyance, she somehow always ends up being right. This pisses off everyone she knows to no avail. No matter how absurd-sounding her side of an argument sounds, it’s always correct.
Relationship with Link
• She and Wind are best friends. Unlike Fable and Legend who have known each other for nearly ten years, they have only known each other for two
• After what they have been through she feels like she can trust him with her life.
• She finds how gullible he can be hilarious and gets him to believe stories she made up. He falls for it all the time.
• When they are older they will realise they have romantic feelings for each other and continue the royal family after they rebuild Hyrule.
• Wind is Tetras first mate and plays a very important role in their pirate crew.
• She is EXTREMELY superstitious and has Wind believing every old wives tale she knows.
• Sometimes when Wind is feeling homesick or can’t sleep, she makes up stories to help him take his mind off of things.
• Wind collects things he thinks Tetra will like in hopes of showing them to her when they meet again.
• Tetra had been hardened a bit by her life out at sea, but Winds childish wonder had never faded no matter what was thrown at him. He helps her to heal her inner child.
• They’re just chaotic together and bombard anyone they come across with their pranks and childish antics.

What about Dusk AND Midna experiencing everyone's adventures?
Oh buddy that’s a gamechanger
Skyward Sword: Ghirahim was expecting a sky child.  He was not expecting a she-demon from the black depths.  Or alternatively, Midna’s got a new plaything.  Dusk is just going to stand back and watch the carnage.
Minish Cap: Well it started with Vaati attempting to asset his dominance, and then Midna took offense to that.  Dusk is just going to stand back and watch the carnage.
Four Swords: She takes to having four Links to order around like a duck to water.  Dusk sort of regrets introducing her to the local Zelda though - they get along way too well.
Ocarina of Time: Ganondorf can’t get the Spiritual Stones if the Spiritual Stones are in another dimension.  But also, Midna’s getting Zant vibes off that creep.  Dusk is just gonna stand back and watch the carnage.
Majora’s Mask: She is gonna wreck Majora’s day.  Let’s go buddy, you and her, right now.  (Dusk is just gonna stand real far back and watch the carnage.)
Four Swords Adventures: This whole ‘Moon Gate’ thing seems awfully familiar.  Midna’s gonna stab somebody if she doesn’t get some answers,
A Link To The Past:  This whole ‘Dark World’ thing seems awfully familiar.  Why is there a second Twilight Realm, Midna’s about to stab somebody for a coherent explanation.
Oracle of Ages: This is probably the only time that friendship actually redeems a villain.  Or, well, ‘redeemed’ might be a strong word for it, really Veran and Midna are just wreaking havoc and terror everywhere they go at a ‘general nuisance’ level.
Oracle of Seasons:  Oh look, another big man talking big words like that makes him superior or something.  Midna knows his type. (She’s not impressed.) Dusk is just gonna stand back and watch the carnage.
Link’s Awakening: Twili are immune to dream magic, apparently.
The Legend of Zelda: Ooh, the lawless lands are her favorites.  Ganon is going down.
A Link Between Worlds: This whole ‘Lorule’ thing seems awfully familiar.  Why is there a third Twilight Realm, and more importantly, who are these non-Twili people living in it?  It’s a good thing Hilda is a girl after Midna’s own heart, otherwise she’d be about to stab somebody.
Wind Waker: The tropics are way too sunny.  She likes Tetra though.
Spirit Tracks: Oh look, a little man talking big as though that makes up for his height.  Midna knows his type.  (She’s not impressed.)  Dusk is just gonna stand back and watch the carnage.

Linked Universe Zeldas
Tumblr media
So last December I decided to draw my idea for the Zeldas on a whim. Found the WIP recently and decided to finish it.
Also, I typed up all my headcanons for them because I have a lot. They are below the cut.
And I put down nickname ideas, because I'm bad at naming things, and I think the LU discord has already decided on a set of nicknames that they like. Personally, I really dislike most of those though.
❖Corresponding Link: Four
     o Age: Teen, just older than Four. Not a major difference, just enough that she can tease him about it.
     o Status: Officially still holds the title of princess, acts more like a queen. Her father is extremely protective of her, but after Vaati he conceded that he couldn’t protect her forever. Since then she has been learning to fight, forge (not good at it), and taking over more and more responsibilities from her aging father
     o Nickname ideas: Light, Picori, Force
     o Fighting style: Mostly fights with a sword and shield. Has extremely strong innate light magic. (light force, although weaker now) Doesn’t necessarily know how to focus it yet (magic bomb, some healing). If you are going to be on the battlefield stop running around like that.
     o Current relationship to Link: Best friends, practically siblings. When they were kids there was definitely some major crushing going on. Then everything with Vaati happened and things got… complicated. Neither she nor Link really knows what type of romance they want for the future. They still play lots of pranks on people. She helps keep him stable on the days when his colors get a little too wild.
     o Random stuff: Hyperactive and cheery. Always something new to see or learn and she wants to do it. hates sitting still, she is always moving somehow (got turned to stone). Top is hers; Link made the sword (gift), rest is extras from four’s parts (stolen). Hair is naturally extremely curly, lets it down for formal things, tied up for adventuring. Helped four get back to functioning as Link after being four people. Will attack him to get him to take care of himself. Is taller than both four and wind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
❖ Corresponding Link: Hyrule
     o Age: At least a hundred. Was 18 when she was cursed to sleep, no one is exactly sure how long she was asleep.
     o Status: Was a princess before falling asleep, offered the crown once woken up. Really over being royal. Link helped her get a job and lodging on a farm at the edge of Hyrule. Really likes that.
     o Nickname ideas: Legacy, Farmgirl, First, Ancestor.
     o Fighting style: Healer. Lots of bandages to patch everyone up. Doesn’t like to fight, but will stab a man if the need arises. The world is cruel, be kind. Has weak magic, a little bit of healing, and lots of prophetic. Knows the best places to hide on a battlefield.
     o Current relationship to Link: They are good friends. He checks up on her from time to time, and she makes sure that he always has a place to rest and relax in safety. Their world is a little bit of a mess, everyone needs a support system.
     o Random stuff: Has insomnia. Afraid of not waking up. Extremely wise, or maybe just world-weary. On tense but good terms with current queen Zelda of Hyrule. Forgives her brother, has come to terms with her fate. Taciturn and calm, probably depressed. Extremely sensitive to dark magic. (like an old burn wound) Dislikes people who use it to forcefully get their way. Doesn’t outright hate the principle of it, but will actively shy away from the presence of it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
❖ Corresponding Link: Time
     o Age: Adult, mentally/physically the same age.
     o Status: Queen of Hyrule. She is married and has a daughter.
     o Nickname ideas: Destiny, Sheik, Queen, Lyre/Harp (what is that thing?), Sage.
     o Fighting style: Fights mostly with magic. Uses the harp to play songs (ironically fights like HW sheik) has basic sheikah skills. Has only been training to fight for a short time, is still fairly physically weak. One of the most proficient magic users all round. Can take down the basic mooks, but won't last long against a bigger enemy. Knows how to fight alone.
     o Current relationship to Link: Strained. Not OOT sheik. Is MM Zelda. Only knows link as the boy who showed up to save the day, then left. Has had occasional interactions, she visits the ranch, he works with the guard. Only in the past year or two, she has had dream glimpses of the alternate timeline. She knows that she and link killed Ganon side by side, that she helped link disguised as sheik. Does not know about the seven years or most of the trauma. Basically, seen like five cutscenes and nothing else.
     o Random stuff: Prophetic dreams. Knew she would be leaving on a quest. Kingdom is well set up to work in her absence. Loves her family, is an idiot who doesn’t know the importance of checking in via letters for anything other than politics. Snobbish, proud, put too much stock in titles. Best manager, not a great leader (doesn’t have the personal skills for it). Sees the world as extremely black and white.
❖ Corresponding Link: Twilight
     o Age: Young adult.
     o Status: Newly coronated queen, has been running the show for a few years now, it's just barely official
     o Nickname ideas: Dusk, Dawn, Shadow
     o Fighting style: Uses mainly rapier to fight. Also, a great archer. Because of temporarily sharing a soul with Midna, has access to powerful twilight magic. Not as strong as Midna, still strong. Has goddess magic (channel through weapons). Tries to hide twili powers mostly since it's “dark magic”, but only technically. She knows it's not true dark magic and really just wants to avoid a lecture (does not get along well with time’s Zelda). Knows her way around the edge of a battlefield.
     o Current relationship to Link: They barely know each other. Only really interacted through saving the world things. Then they went separate ways. She considers Midna a sister and wants to slap both Midna and Link for not realizing they like each other. Once she knows Link better, she will probably tease him a lot.
     o Random stuff: Unlike most of the other Zeldas, sees the world as being mostly shades of grey, rather than stark black and white. Somber and stoic. Secretly a massive gremlin. Has a few habits picked up from Midna's soul along with the magic. Is awkward around ‘normal’ people. Has spent almost her entire life in political settings. One of the best politicians. Rather open about her feelings, it's just small and easily missed. Feels guilty for the troubles that befell both Hyrule and the twilight realm. Hates having to stand back unable to help. Screw rules she is going to help.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
❖ Corresponding Link: Wild
      o Age: 118-120ish(?) I don’t know how long it has been since the events of BOTW.
      o Status: Technically queen, currently is focused on rebuilding Hyrule. Has no intention to take up the throne any time soon.
      o Nickname ideas: Scholar, Architect, Champion, Urbosa, Scientist, Little Bird.
      o Fighting style: Not a great fighter but she is learning. Decent with a sword. Gets a crossbow from twilight and then makes her own out of sheikah tech. (currently has no magic and good riddance). Learning to navigate a battlefield.
      o Current relationship to Link: They are good friends, but it's awkward. Neither of them are totally sure how to act around the other. Basically, either gremlin adventures, or awkward small talk. Past the first road trip, only interact a few times a month. She is caught between trying to mourn her knight and accepting her new hero. Cooking shenanigans.
      o Random stuff: Loves learning new things. Can and will study and find the effects of every plant. Knows poisons, antidotes, elixirs, potions, and everything else. Still trying to come to terms with everything that happened. Frequent nightmares. Claustrophobic/minor insomnia. Knows all the languages. Loves studying sheikah tech, and finally gets the chance to as much as she wants. Hates the castle. So many things change culturally over 100 years and she has no idea what to do. Awkward, but sincere.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
❖ Corresponding Link: Wind
     o Age: Teen
     o Status: Technically the queen. Hyrule currently consists of a single town on the mainland, and lots of plans. Queenish. Anjean is teaching her how to politics.
     o Nickname ideas: Name is tetra that’s it.
     o Fighting style: Uses a pirate saber as well as the phantom sword. (IDK if spirit tracks is part of Wind’s story, but I was not passing up the opportunity to give tetra a massive sword). Decent archer, and can channel light magic into weapons…. most of the time…... It’s a work in progress. Also has general goddess magic. Big explosion of light. Knows her way around a battlefield
     o Current relationship to Link: Serve on a crew together. Best friends and partners in crime. There is a lot that needs to be done to start a country, they will do it together. It’s not going quickly. They keep getting distracted. Why do paperwork when you can steal things.
     o Random stuff: Smol. Link hit puberty and got a growth spurt. She did not. Not a politician, this child should not be in charge, whose idea was it to let a pirate child run a country. Great leader. All the social skills. Shoot first… that’s it. Sassy. Trying her best to be a good princess and live up to her lineage. It's hard. There is no book. Feels like she is letting everyone down. Hates big birds. Occasional nightmares. Really hates being cold. (turned to stone)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
❖ Corresponding Link: Legend
     o Age: Older teen
     o Status: Queen. Has ruled for a while. Amazing support system. They regularly keep things running when she gets kidnapped. Good relations with all surrounding countries.
     o Nickname ideas: Maiden, Sage, Hilda.
     o Fighting style: Doesn’t. Pacifist. She can attack with light magic, chooses not to. Healing magic, team buffs, defense. Just because she doesn’t fight doesn’t mean she will let her team die. Strongest support magic. Does not know her way around a battlefield.
     o Current relationship to Link: Good work friends. They get along well enough. No massive personal relations. She asks him for help with killing monsters, he asks her for help with laws. It works for them. Occasionally they will get lunch together and catch up. (aka make sure he didn’t get himself killed.) Can use telepathy to contact Link at any time. Keeps it to emergencies only. Because he finds it massively annoying, and a little creepy.
     o Random stuff: Massive romantic. Currently single. Misses being able to gossip with Hilda. Kind and compassionate. Does not stand for injustice. Will forgive until the end of time. Just because she is kind does not mean she is weak. Strong-willed. Good politician. Loved by her people, even if Ganon has attacked like five times. Ganon is the only person on the list of people she would happily shank. So much paperwork. Give the girl a break. Keeps craft supplies on her for long imprisonments. Scrying magic, and a little bit prophetic.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
❖ Corresponding Link: Warriors
     o Age: Adult. Older than warriors, younger than time or his Zelda.
     o Status: Queen of Hyrule, and commander of its army. Her Hyrule has been in turmoil for a while even before the war with Cia.
     o Nickname ideas: General, Commander, Tactician.
     o Fighting style: Best fighter. Can use all the weapons. Summon a bow or rapier of pure light magic. Strongest understanding of how the goddess magic works with weapons. Mostly fights as Zelda (basically her gameplay style), still uses her sheik disguise sometimes (ironically fights similar to smash bros sheik because of extensive sheikah training.) Lives on the battlefield.
     o Current relationship to Link: They work seamlessly together in battle and are friends outside of it. They haven't actually known each other very long so it's awkward sometimes. She still has to occasionally remind him that she doesn’t need a title. If they were two kids in a village then they would probably date. But they are not, and things are complicated. Duty to the kingdom comes first.
      o Random stuff: Best makeup. Amazing, if ruthless, politician. Best historian. Blunt. No time for crap. One of the best leaders doesn’t have the pure charisma to outdo warriors though. Resting B Face. 90% of soldiers are scared of her. Comes across as harsh, rude, cold. Really, she is just a bit awkward and hides behind a mask. Can’t do people, can do basically anything else. Minor prophetic magic.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
❖ Corresponding Link: Sky
     o Age: Old teen/young adult. Older than Sky.
     o Status: Technically the queen, but Hyrule hasn’t been founded yet. Officially goddess Hylia reincarnated. She doesn’t go around flaunting the title, but sometimes the memories of Hylia she gained will overwhelm her. Full goddess mode. Doesn’t stand for dark magic.
     o Nickname ideas: Hylia, Sun, Swallow.
     o Fighting style: trained at the academy and knows how to fight with a sword. Not a good fighter. massive bursts of power usually win her fights. Sometimes she can channel a little bit of her power, but usually, she just gets overwhelmed by all of it. General goddess magic, cannot channel through weapons. Thinks she does, but in fact, does not know her way around a battlefield
     o Current relationship to Link: Do I need to explain? These two are head over heels. Sappy love birds all the way. Childhood friends. Everyone is surprised they're not engaged yet.
     o Random stuff: More adventure-ready style to reflect working on founding Hyrule. Fierce and determined. Kind. But she will get her way. Struggles to balance her mortality and newfound divinity. Feels bad that Sky had to fight for her. Loves her bird. Beautiful singing voice. She is trying her best but is in fact very bad at being an adventurer. Good at sewing. Loads of people skills, working on leadership skills. Best with children. 6th sense type prophetic magic. (aka see a shot before it is taken, but not a coming calamity.)
That's it. Congrats on making it to the end. You get a cookie. 🍪
Tetrachromat ||Harry Potter
Pairing: Cedrico Diggory x Reader // Hermione Granger x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: In a world where you can see 100 million different shades, every day means a new discovery. But among so many, you find something completely different in someone
Word Count: 2,6k
N / A:  tetrachromatism or tetracromacia comes from the mixture of two words of Greekorigin,"tetra" means "four" and "Chroma" which means "color". A tetrachromat person has 4 cell cones, instead of 3 which is more common, and this makes him sensitive to a wider color spectrum.
Part II
Tumblr media
 I had just come home after a tiring day at work, when I came across a scene that I hadn't seen in a long time. There was a brown owl on the steps of my house, I looked around and then walked over to it, took the letter that was tied to one of its legs, and a few seconds later I saw it flying across the London sky back to Hermione, after all there is no one but her that I know in the Wizarding World. As she was waiting for me there for a long time, I'm sure my parents haven't arrived yet, as they would have let her in.
I left my bag on the sofa and sat down to read it immediately, I hadn't heard from her in over a year and sometimes I feared the worst had happened. The last thing I received was a warning, she had told me that she couldn't get in touch because she had an important mission to do and that when it was over, we could talk again.
“Dear friend,
It has been a week since the war ended, the Wizarding World is turned upside down but we are at peace and rebuilding ourselves now. I'm sending this letter to let you know that I'm going to visit my parents' house in a few days and I would like to see you too. After lunch next Saturday it seems like a good time.
I have more things to tell you than I can put into words, I would also like to ask you a favor, but we can resolve this later.
 With love, Hermione. ”
This visit was only the first of many. We talked as far as she could tell me, some issues were still sensitive and very recent and I obviously respected that, but even without many details, knowing the things that happened was difficult to process and she also respected that.
We started seeing each other more than once a week, my parents managed to help locate Hermione's parents very easily, since our families have been neighbors and close friends for a long time. That was the favor she asked for and I immediately agreed.
Over the course of two months, things were returning to their proper place and I had been officially invited by the brunette to visit their version of London and of course, I accepted. I was looking forward to that day, in the last letter I received, she told me that she would like to introduce Harry and Ronald, her boyfriend, to me. It is strange to think that I had heard everything about them, literally everything that happened at Hogwarts I knew from letters, but that we never actually talked.
On the day that the visit was finally going to happen, I was more nervous than I had imagined. At 9 am, I was just getting ready when I heard a huge noise in the living room and for a few seconds I was scared, until I remembered that the girl warned me that this would happen.
I could hear my parents' voices downstairs and I didn't even have to worry about hurrying, the only thing that caught my attention were the steps on the wooden stairs and then a light knock on the door.
- Come in, Mione - I replied calmly, knowing who I was as I finished putting on my boots.
- It's really impressive how you always guess right - she replied with a smile and came in, sitting next to me.
- It's not very difficult, nobody in this house really knocks on the door before entering, although I keep complaining about it - we both smiled at my comment and I continued - I thought you were going to bring Harry and Ronald - I commented getting up and she immediately laughed , leaving me confused.
- It is weird to hear you saying "Ronald" so formally, it seems that you do not know him- she explained to me and I had to laugh too.
- I think so too, but as I don't know him personally, it doesn't feel right to be informal, I can't explain it, but anyway, I'm ready to go.
 We said goodbye to my parents before apparating to a street with several different stores. We walked a lot and it was nice to see how people were happier after all the terror that happened.
Many people stopped to talk to Mione, she tried to disguise it but I noticed perfectly how well it did her, as if the whole sacrifice was worth it because no one would have to suffer or be afraid anymore.
It was only at lunchtime that we met with the others at a restaurant, that I had to insist a lot to go and exchange my money because Hermione wanted to pay, since I was the guest of the day.
Along the way, I noticed how this London is more normal than I imagined it to be, I have to look closely to see the less drastic differences.
- Is it true that you see different colors from everyone ?? - the redhead asked unable to hold himself and I just laughed at Hermione's indignant expression - Ouch! What? It’s not true? - He put his hand behind his head, where he had been slapped by the brunette next to him.
 We had come in less than 5 minutes ago, I thought it was going to be a lot more uncomfortable than it really was. Right after the introductions, Ronald asked me that question and I admit that I was a little surprised. I had no idea that Mione talked about me for them.
- It is true, colors work in a different way for me. Around everything there are colors popping out before my eyes - I tried to explain as easily as I could with a smile.
- Around people too ?? Around us now, have colors ?? - his eyes sparkled with excitement when I agreed - what do you see around me ?? - he added with interest in his voice.
- Many shades of red, blue and orange - I said after analyzing him for a few seconds.
- Hey, it reminds me of that book you gave me. The psychology of colors - her smile opened immediately when she remembered.
- Psychology? It couldn't have a better word for a title? Nobody in their right mind would read that - Ron leaned back in his chair and Harry's posture changed, as if he expected what was coming.
- That book has the meaning of each color, I like to think that colors describe people but since you are not interested, I will not say it - the two went from water to wine in a matter of seconds.
- We are interested, how could I not have been told about this before ?? - The brown-eyed boy looked at her as if he had been terribly betrayed.
- We had bigger concerns Ronald, since the first year you two took me into trouble that could have cost our life or our expulsion - she stared at him seriously and not a trace of remorse stamped his face.
- But you don't regret living all these adventures, right? It was fun at least, most of them - he replied leaning over to her with a wide smile.
- Well, some choices could be decided much more sensibly, we weren't that much of a child - she said moving away to the side as the other approached - what are you doing, Ronald? - her cheeks burned a light pink.
- What is the definition of red? - Harry said suddenly, taking my attention from the couple next to me, he looked as comfortable as I did.
- Well, usually strong emotions. Passion, love, anger .. I see it in all of you, but it is not up to me to point out exactly what it means in each case - I said looking at the three since I received attention from the lovebirds.
- And do you have proof of that? Is it really true ?? - He asked me again, even more curious.
- In terms of colors and meanings, yes, but as there are few people with my condition, no researcher has identified the relationship of colors with what is around them. I like to believe it's true, so far it's not wrong and I have tested it several times.
 We continued talking animatedly, even after our orders arrived. The topic of colors continued until everyone was satisfied with their definitions and then they decided to tell me some mini adventures that they lived together, which I still didn't know about.
- And after all this episode with the spider, he had the courage to say that they didn't do it wrong, as if my head had almost been eaten by mistake - Ron said with wide eyes while gesturing non-stop.
 We all laughed but I lost focus on the conversation as soon as two men stopped by our table, clearly father and son or something, due to the clear age difference. Both had friendly smiles on their faces, but the youngest one caught my attention the most.
I just managed to hear an echo in my head of what the conversation was about, I obviously wasn't looking at him because it would be rude and it's not the kind of thing I would have the courage to do shamelessly.
- We haven't seen each other in a while, Mr. Diggory, oh by the way, this is a friend of mine - Mione nodded at me and I smiled, just before I introduced myself and they did the same.
 Cedric, it’s his name. I remained distracted by my own thoughts until a tap on the shoulder woke me up, they were no longer there but I could tell they were at a nearby table.
- Hey, I was talking to you - she said with an expression of indignation and a little bit of concern too - oh, finally back to this planet - she completed it as soon as she got my attention again.
- What were you going to say, Mione? - I felt my face heat up but I tried to hide it as much as possible, the less attention for this moment of mine the better.
 The brunette decided to leave the questions for later and I thanked her internally for that. After we finished eating, it was just the two of us again since apparently both of the boys had plans for the rest of the day.
- Did something bother you earlier? You didn't even look at us - I heard her say as we walked out of the restaurant.
- Yes, but you don't have to worry about that, I just needed a few seconds to put my head in place - I hadn't even realized what that could mean until I saw the smile on her face.
- Was just one "hello" enough for your head to get out of place? Not that I'm judging, that's usually how it was at Hogwarts - her tone was a little bit malicious and I instantly slapped your arm.
- It was nothing like that, I had never seen anyone or anything with so many colors before. He had a rainbow of colors, I couldn't even process it properly - I used the lowest tone I could, after all we were still in public.
- Are you sure?? Your vision may have confused him with the whole background -  the rational side spoke first and I shook my head - well, it doesn't seem like a coincidence. Cedric has always been the definition of Hufflepuff, I couldn't think of anyone else who could be a rainbow, literally speaking - her smile returned even more prominent.
 As a last stop, we went back to Diagon Alley because apparently the desserts there were the best. I was about to find out if this is true or not, when Hermione told me she was going to get a book, which really isn't a surprise to anyone, so I enjoyed my chocolate cake alone, sitting at one of the round pink tables.
- Hey, I didn't expect to see you here - it definitely wasn't a female voice, so as I looked ahead there he was again.
- I would go anywhere to have such a good cake - we both smiled and I motioned him to sit on the currently empty chair - and what is your reason? I asked with one eyebrow raised.
- I'm working as a house elf today, my dad ordered a huge order here and I came to get it - maybe I had paid more attention than necessary to his smile, but who can judge me?
- I don't want to disturb you, it must be important - I tried to be the most sincere in those words, but most of me wanted his presence for a few more minutes.
- He won't mind waiting longer, I couldn't miss the opportunity to spend a few more minutes with such a beautiful girl - he dared to wink at me.
 Before I could answer, the cashier who also owns the place came to our table personally and what she said made me blush hard.
- Hello, your father's order is ready, Mr. Diggory and we also have a special promotion for couples, if you are interested - her smile was loving.
 Cedric was as speechless as I was, both overflowing with redness in our face and the lady did not seem to understand the situation at all, she brought another menu with options for couples to our table before leaving us alone again.
- This is not what I expected to happen, but this colorful cake looks really good - I blinked slowly and couldn't resist it, I had to laugh and the confused expression on his face made me laugh even more.
- That was a very HufflePuff way of dealing with the situation and, by the way, you should try it. It suits you after all - I commented before eating my own cake.
- Do you study at Hogwarts too? I mean, studied when it wasn’t destroyed.
- Oh no, I'm not a witch. I know a lot about it ‘cause of Hermione, apparently you're quite popular - again I noticed the pink on his cheeks increase and I must say, it's amusing  to watch.
- Not quite popular for sure, what else you know about me? - He regained his confident posture and raised an eyebrow in my direction.
- Not beyond what I have already implied, but I would love to know more if it’s okay for you.
 Where did I get that confidence from? I'm not sure, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity and my attitude seems to have taken him by surprise as much as me. The words disappeared from his mouth as I grinned.
- Is there a problem Cedric? - I was having more fun than I expected this afternoon.
- I should have asked you out, but you were faster - he said so seriously frustrated but my only desire is  just to laugh.
- Oh, do you want to go out with me? I meant to get to know each other as friends - he stopped to analyze me and I tried to be serious but before he apologized, I held his hand - I was just kidding, I would love to go out with you - I winked at him before letting go.
- You are really ... my heart is not going to have a minute of peace from now on, is it?
- I will try to take it easy on you Diggory, but I don't know if I will be able to do it for long.
 An hour later I left to look for Hermione with a promise from Cedric, we would meet again next week.
First post of the new name/direction of this blog with my Linked Universe Percy Jackson AU! Meet the Demi-God boys!
After cleaning out my room a couple of weeks ago I found my old PJO & HoO books and my old obsession clashed with my new one along with my passion for mythology! I have a lot of stuff thought up about this AU and I’m going to keep riding the self indulgence juices for as long as I can!
Some info on the boys/the AU can be found below! Not everything is below, I would like to keep some secret/for the future ;) And feel free to ask/send questions about the AU, I would die of happiness if you did!
Wind -Son of Poseidon (God of the Sea, Storms, Earthquakes, Droughts, Floods and Horses) Counselor of Cabin 3. -14 years old. 3 years at camp. -He is a summer camper, and lives with his Grandma and younger sister Aryll when not at camp, they are unsure if his sister is a Demi-God as well. -Has gone on a few of quests so far, mainly ones that involved the sea including one to the sea of monster with his best friend/best rival Tetra.  -Really excited about all his new cousins and family. -Hates being underestimated due to his age, he’s been on quests, he's a son of Poseidon, he’s just as capable as the rest of them! -Favourite part of his powers is his ability to talk to fish and horses. Horses don’t like him back though. Wild -Son of Hypnos? (God of Sleep and the Personification of Sleep) -Doesn’t even know his age, let alone his birthday. -A year round camper, well he’s got no where else to go. First year at CHB -All he remembers is being inside a nice plush cabin with lots of pillows a tree growing in the middle that leaked a milky colored sap that was dripping over his hands and lips. -Slept for a really long time and he guesses now he has no memory? At least that’s what Chiron told him. But why does he feel so guilty? -No quests just yet, he likes practicing archery trick-shots with the Apollo kids. -A daughter of Athena keeps trying to get him to eat frogs and bugs. Some of them make him feel funny. Twilight -Son of Lupercus (God of Shepherds and Wader against Wolves), Champion of Lupa (Wolf Goddess). Centurion of Cohort 3. -19 years old. 4 Years at Camp.  -Summer Camper, goes home despite it being uncommon for Romans to do so. -Wasn’t found until he was 15, his father was too minor of a god to really draw any attention to Twilight. He liked it that way. He trained himself and it was enough to protect himself for a couple of years. -When he was 15, one of his mortal friends was killed the crossfire of one of the few monster attacks, afterwards he was taken to Camp Jupiter. -Whilst completing his training in the Wolf House under Lupa the wolf Goddess, the she-wolf took a liking to him and agreed to train him further than other Demi-gods and eventually took him on as her champion. -On a quest met someone and they teamed up and he fell in love with her despite knowing that she could never love him back. -Talk shit you get the stick Sky -Son of Zeus (God of the Sky, Lightning and Thunder. King of the Gods) Counselor of Cabin 1. -19 years old. 3 years at Camp. -Year round camper, but wishes he could be a summer camper like his girlfriend. -Very in love with his girlfriend who is a Daughter of Apollo, they knew each other as kids but never knew they were both Demi-Gods. -Has been on only two or three quests but they were very big/very important and needed the power of a son Zeus. Doesn’t like to think about his first quest.  -Prefers to use his Wind powers over his Lightning Powers. -Feels quite bad due to the fact ever since he and his younger cousin (Wind) showed up at camp the number of monster attacks have only increased. -Jealous of Wind’s ability to talk to some animal, he wishes he could communicate with his bird.
Four -Son of Hephaestus (God of Fire, the Forge, Metalworking, Technology and Blacksmiths) Co-counselor of Cabin 9. -18 years old. 4 years at camp.  -Summer Camper, goes home to his Grandfather during the year. -Quite small for an child of Hephaestus but that doesn’t put him down. -Known for stealing extra end of year beads from the Big House. -Sometimes seen talking to himself. -Is most skilled in weapons but has dabbled in creating automatons but all he ended up with was a cranky bird who likes to sit on his head, he named him E.Z.L.O. -”Yes I did flex and my sleeves fell off, shut up Legend!”
Hyrule -Son of Hecate (Goddess of Magic, Crossroads, Sorcery, Necromany and Light) -16 years old. 2 years at Camp.  -Year round camper -Still quite new at all this Half-blood Demi-God stuff . -His Saytr guide got killed while escorting him to camp, managed to make the rest of the journey by himself. -His magic goes a bit haywire when he is stressed, last time he turned 3 members of the Hebe cabin in an acorn, plank of wood and a toaster for a few hours. -A little scared cause he feels unworthy next to all his siblings and all the other heroes in camp, but knows deep down he might be stronger than most of them. -Keeps taking the new Hypnos kid into the forest around the camp and sometimes they don’t show up again for a few days.
Time -Son of Janus (God of Beginnings, Transitions, Time, Duality, Doorways, Passages, and Endings) Former Praetor of Camp Jupiter, Former Centurion of the First Cohort. -Age unknown, but he’s quite old for a Demi-god.  -Gave up the Demi-God life and his Praetor position years ago to go and live with his mortal wife. -Due to his powers he sometimes ends up walking through doorways through time and space. Thats how he ended up here. Not his first rodeo in this time though. -Was raised by a group of forest Dryads for the first years of his life before moving to Camp Jupiter.  -Been on many quests, including one which ended up with him having to battle against the primordial moon goddess Luna. After winning the fight he took her sword. - “Look, I didn’t ask to be a half-blood.” Legend -Son of Hermes (God of Roads, Travel, Athletes, Diplomacy, Thieves, Commerce and Trade. Messenger of the Gods) Counselor of Cabin 10. -17 years old. 7 years at Camp. -Year round/Summer Camper, it kinda changes every year. -Currently holds onto the record for the most quests at Camp Half-Blood. Kinda proud but also kinda over it.  -Hoarder of all sorts of items, unknown where he gets all these items from.  -Bonded with Hyrule while he was holed up in Cabin 10 before his claiming by Hecate. -He sees a possible opportunity in the son of Poseidon to help him return to the mysterious island he wash up on years ago. An island where he fell in love with a goddess who could never leave. But he is going to find a way, he will. -Stole a pair of his dad’s flying shoes, but turns out they were kinda a dud. Can’t fly but can run really fast. Warriors -Son of Mars (God of War and Destruction) & Legacy of Venus (Goddess of Love, Beauty, Desire, Prosperity and Victory). Praetor of the 12th Legion. Former Centurion of Cohort 5. -18 years old. 4 years at Camp. -Year round camper. He’s in charge so he’s got to stay. -At first thought to be another child of Mars with a pretty face he was placed in Cohort 5. He was quickly made centurion of the ragtag group of Demi-Gods and quickly the cohort was competing with the best of them.  -He caught the eye of the current female Preator and when her colleague failed to return from a quest, she promoted Warriors to Preator, despite him not having completed the minimum 5 years of service to be eligible for the position. -Most well known for helping defend Camp Jupiter during a war a year ago, which helped solidify his new position as Praetor. But he feels guilty for every life lost in each of the battles. -A bit of a heartthrob who can't help but flaunt his double legacy sometimes.
HAWK fails at a postapocalyptic future
I’m waiting for my copy of HAWK from the library, but from what I’ve heard from other readers, it sounds like it hasn’t changed much since the ARC. That’s frustrating. Partly because there were so many plot holes.
In Maximum Ride Forever, the world has been hit by a meteor, and then gone through not only that fallout but numerous weapons like a lab-created plague and nuclear bombs. Major cities are flooded, or cratered, or experiencing nuclear fallout. A significant part of the population is dead. We meet only a handful of adults. The vast majority of survivors who we see are children, and quite a few of those are mutants. The ending features a battle between child armies.
In MRF, we are given to believe that these are the people on whom the rebuilt future rests.
In HAWK, we get a completely different fallout.
Take all of that stuff from MRF and add in a four-year-long nuclear winter. The surviving child soldiers do have resources and can work on planning, but all the characters we know of go into underground bunkers to survive.
Eleven years after that – sixteen years total since the extinction-level event - there are multiple cities full of people of all ages. These cities feature skyscrapers, massive drug labs, evil science facilities, tanks, cars, guns with government chips in them, paved streets, plumbing. Film studios, movie cameras, animated cartoons! There is a hidden canyon city with houses carved into the walls, which one imagines would have taken a very long time, but which is apparently quite well-established. There are doctors and nurses. Where did they get their degrees? Are they all in their thirties and younger, or were they adults who we didn’t meet in MRF?
It’s difficult to tell the ratio of mutants to humans, but from what we see, mutants are occasional but rare. (So much for Itex’s plan to have their mutants rule the world.)
On to the social status quo. Now, bear in mind that Hawk never got an education and has lived in one place for as long as she can remember. Okay: Hawk does not know what the ocean is. She does not know what a squirrel is. She believes that horses and pandas are mythical creatures, and she talks about “Crismins” instead of Christmas.
More widely, everyone, including Americans, has adopted the metric system, people talk about the “gods” and some worship statues. Okay. Fine, I guess. I can even sort of take Max’s inspirational speech reminding the citizens that they deserve to be treated like human beings.
But it’s difficult to tell how much of this is Hawk being clueless and growing up in a hellhole of a city, and how much is meant to be genuine worldbuilding of “See! See how different this dark, gritty future is! See how much has been forgotten! Our main character has heard only a garbled version of the word ‘Christmas!’”
Except that it has been only sixteen years since the world ended. It has only been eleven years since they really had the chance to start rebuilding.  I know we only see two cities and one prison island, and it’s hinted there’s more of a connection to the previous world in the free city of Tetra, but this is ridiculous.
Technology, infrastructure and population should be low. Connection to the previous world’s pop culture and society should be high. There are adults running around for whom sixteen years is only a fraction of their lives. There would still be teenagers who would have been born before the apocalypse.
Instead, the book treats things as if it has been much longer. High population, infrastructure and technology. Low connection to the previous world.
After sixteen years, things have changed so much that a girl born at the pivotal point does not know the word Christmas. She does not know what the ocean is; she has never heard anyone talk about islands, or cruises, or going to the beach. In a world where TV is a constant presence, she thinks horses are made up. But Christmas is what really gets me. Look at how much Christmas takes over stores and media around December. Are you telling me that in under two decades, people forgot the word Christmas?! They have TV and cartoons, and in the past decade and a half, nobody has ever cranked up some old carols??
After all this, I want to try a quick worldbuilding of what the Maximum Ride future might look like. This is just spitballing; there are any number of directions it could go.
What HAWK could look like if the future followed a sensible pattern:
To begin: after natural disasters, plague, nuclear bombings, and a four-year nuclear winter, you’d have a vastly shrunken population. Most of the characters seen in Maximum Ride Forever are orphaned children. There will be huge gaps in the age population. I’ll hypothesize that most adults died in the plague. By the time of HAWK, you probably don’t see anyone over 65, and even that might be pushing it.
On the other hand, I expect there will be a huge emphasis on repopulating the planet. The survival of the human race is still in question. Let’s say there was a baby boom right after the nuclear winter ended and people started leaving their bunkers. You see a lot of kids around 10-11 years old. Hawk will hardly ever meet anyone her age; she was born in a patch of time when pretty much nobody was having babies. There are no abusive orphanages. Children are far too treasured. Even if death rates are high and orphans are common, there will be people anxiously collecting up those orphans and raising them in a safe place. Hawk’s orphanage could still be a weird place, but the kids wouldn’t be disappearing or taken off to evil laboratories. Although—more on that in a minute.
By the time of HAWK, the Apocalypse’s shadow still looms; anyone 20 or older can remember where they were and what they were doing That Day. They reminisce to each other or to their children about the old days. Hawk can be skeptical, as in canon, that some of these stories are true. Enough people that the world was struggling with overpopulation? How is that possible?
The survivors are people who went down into bunkers. Let’s say there were bunkers scattered all over the world. You’ll get a lot of wacky survivalist types, and also probably some of those scientists and major businessmen who were talking about the end of the world in the older MR books, and who could afford to build bunkers. Speaking of which: Himmel! This was the main villain’s bunker that the Flock and their army of child soldiers ended up moving into. Chock-full of advanced technology.
The groups in these bunkers would have lived together for four years in close quarters, relying on each other to survive (or maybe fighting to the death, I don’t know). Groups like the one in Himmel will probably be incredibly close-knit. Even after the nuclear winter is over, it will make sense for people to use those bunkers as bases. Towns, and one day cities, will grow up around them. Some people may still live primarily in underground apartments.
Maybe (I could be pushing it here) there are some people who stayed out of the bunkers and ended up in a hunter-gatherer caveman-type existence. If they survived, this could be an important allyship or a source of tension with the bunker-dwellers. Do they join up? Do they keep their distance?
Major cities do not exist (so no “City of the Dead”). The older cities are uninhabitable and being reclaimed by nature, long stripped of resources even if they aren’t just piles of rubble. Most people are not concerned about rebuilding them right now, and there probably aren’t even enough surviving workers with the right knowledge; a lot of professions will have to be re-developed from the ground up. Suffice to say there are no new skyscrapers going up.
The immediate concern will be food. Agriculture will have suffered from the nuclear winter. Some people are working on traditional farms, but we do have that advanced technology from Himmel, and the surviving scientists will be in high demand for developing new food sources.
I’m thinking of lots of farming communities centered around the safety of the bunkers. They will spread outwards only gradually. And there was a large population of mutant “Aquatics”, so new towns may not necessarily be built on land. We could have towns built on or under the water, and farms focused on fish and seaweed.
Mutants make up a major percentage of the surviving population. There’s no more of scientists coming after mutants and picking them off. Mutants are the scientists now, in many cases; the mutant kids growing up in Himmel would have been studying the resources there and learning to build things necessary for the new world.
However, there’s a possibility of prejudice against mutants. Perhaps some of the human survivors, particularly from other bunkers, resent the mutants or see them as tied to the Apocalypse. The question of reproduction and having the human race survive? Maybe some people want humanity to be “pure.” They don’t want bird or fish DNA floating around in there.
There will likely be a problem of ruffian bands who try to raid these settlements for food. Sometimes settlements raid each other. There may also be corrupt administrations, or gangs who offer “protection.”
There isn’t the same kind of worldwide connection. Although they certainly have the technology for long-distance communication, it will take a long time to rebuild the infrastructure and carry it all over the world. The postal system is gone. The transportation system is gone. Instead of booking a flight at the airport, you ask your buddy Susan if she can give you a ride in her crop duster to the next settlement.
There are no huge, high-tech prisons, either. Nobody’s got the time or resources to devote to that, and there simply aren’t enough prisoners to fill up something like that. Prisons in this world? I’m picturing big old pits like in The Dark Knight Rises.
So here’s a shot at reworking the beginning of HAWK: Hawk’s parents leave her with a babysitter in a farming community, but while they’re away, it’s hit by raiders. In the destruction, along with food, the raiders also take kids to sell them. Hawk ends up in a weird orphanage obsessed with raising the new generation of the world and ensuring humanity’s survival. However, one of the administrators is bigoted against mutants, and when it’s discovered that Hawk is a mutant, she’s put aside with the other "non-ideal” kids, who are treated like servants. The orphanage might be under the “protection” of a gang - the Paters. Pietro can even still be around—except please less boring and maybe with a name that doesn’t sound like a tongue twister—and he might be a rare kid born around the same time as Hawk, maybe a year older, whose parents made it through the Apocalypse and kept their infant son alive because of their wealth.
That’s something I could have accepted. I can’t accept smacking Hawk in the middle of a generic dystopian city that seems a century or further into the future, when it should be only sixteen.
Linked Univers(ity)
I know I need to work more on fics but…
That @linkeduniverse coffee shop au….
……..
DAMMIT
Ok so after seeing @miss-game-and-watch post about Linked University I have not been able to get it out of my head. So as a result, I have been unable to fully focus on linkeduniverse fics or the fic I’m making about the original Link because I AM THINKING OF TOO MUCH CONTENT FOR THIS AU OF AN AU.
So yeah here you guys go, hopefully you won’t see more of this but rather more of other content but here we are.
Time:
A professor in psychology at the Linked University, the second best university in Hyrule besides the Central Royal University. A bit scary to the young freshmen, but gets invited to dinner by the seniors. He’s always being shipped with the various female professors and the director Zelda Nohanson. Even though he’s married to Malon, a secretary working at the Lon Lon food Industry. Lost his eye due to a car accident when he was younger, but everyone thinks it’s because he got into a gang fight.
Twilight:
Time’s nephew? Son? Grandson? Adopted son?! Who knows man. He’s Time’s teacher aid, and goes where ever his professor goes. Currently majoring as a senior in forestry and agriculture and is an aid to Time as a job.  Liked by the freshmen for acting as an older sibling to everyone. Smuggles in stray cats and dogs to his dorm to take care of them until he finds someone else willing to take them.
Warriors:
A senior at the university but is training to be in the army. Is admired by nearly every freshmen female who he normally tries to hook up with at a coffee shop a block away from the university. Is never seen without his blue scarf, or a mirror. Even though he keeps a polished look he lives in his friend’s apartment because he is broke as hell and is struggling to get a job.
Wild:
A college freshman that works in a coffee shop to try and scrape up some money, pretty new to the area being that he just moved there. Skipped two grades in elementary because he was just that good. Not entirely sure what he’s going to major in.  Loves to cook and go rock climbing. At the high school he went to he was the star quarter back and was going to continue football into college, until a terrorist bombing occurred at the playoffs and was severely injured, ending his time as an athlete.
Four:
A high school sophomore, short due to a growth stunt he’s always had. Has dissociative identity disorder which makes it rare for him to show up at school. Wants to get a certificate in welding or manufacturing. Sells metal decor and furniture with his grandfather at the local farmer’s market on weekends. Made a sword once and now has it hung up in his room to show it off. Lots of people mistake him for a child, which leads to him being constantly pulled over by police when he’s driving.
Legend:
A runt of a nine-teen year old, dropped out during senior year of high school and now works at various jobs. Parents and uncle died when he was young so he jumped around different foster homes until he ran away during freshmen year. Joined a local but small gang when he dropped out but after they started to grow in numbers he left to be a loner. Has been to the juvenile detention center many times for getting into fights and pick-pocketing but that’s not stopping him. Says that there’s no way he’ll be found having a normal life but really wants to leave Hyrule and look for a new life in Labrynna, a country east of Hyrule. Is normally found loitering in the alley behind a certain coffee shop.
Hyrule:
A high school junior, skips classes often to either care for his mother or to hang out with his friends in the alley. Not really sure if he wants to go to college or not. Recently got a job as a waiter at some crappy diner after his mother lost her job due to being constantly sick. At night goes to fight clubs and tries to make a couple of rupees. Stays away from cops since they’ve to drag him into the station more than twice.
Sky:
A college junior, majoring in aeronautics. Is really sweet to everyone, which leaves them wondering if he had ever been mad or furious. In high school was crowned prom king along with his girlfriend Hylia. She now goes to the Central Hyrule University but always sends letters to him, which are always stored in a box hidden in Sky’s dorm. He has a job at a grocery store and shares a dorm with his friend Pitpit.
Wind:
A high school freshman, but is taking sophomore level classes since he’s extremely smart for someone his age. A transfer student from out of the country, was raised with his sister on tropical island in the Oceanic region. Misses his friend Tetra, but doesn’t miss the gang fights she always got into. Sometimes she’ll send one of her thugs to go check on him, which he doesn’t mind but it scares the sh*t out of his friends. His grandma takes care of him and his sister and is no stranger to receiving strange visitors in her household, accompanied by Wind.
Linked Universe My Hero Academia AU
Based of @linkeduniverse but I included a few extra Links. Not proud of the names, but there just there for names. Might write a fic about it.
Sky:
Name- Skylar Hero
Hero Name- Sky Knite
Quirk- Hereditary Spirit, after death, Sky has the power to grant strength to his decedents or temporarily control them. After this happens, his descendants permanently get some of his powers and memories.
Notes- People think his quirk involves his ears and his trained falcon. He fights with a sword, shield, and his falcon. He is one of the first heroes.
Minish: Son of Sky
Name- Adam Hero
Hero Name- Minori
Quirk- Minimize, can shrink down to the size of a mouse with anything on him also shrinking.
Notes- Not as big as Sky. Made his son’s weapon and encouraged him to be a hero.
Four: Son of Minish
Name- Manny Hero
Hero Name: The Four
Quirk- Four Sword, channeling his power through anything, like a pencil or a sword. Four has the power to split himself up into four different versions of himself.
Notes- can use anything to split, not just his sword. Hates his name, so he usually goes by Four. Has a slight split personality.
Time: Son of Four
Name- Link Hero
Hero Name: Time Rules
Quirk- Split Age, can change his age at will between thirteen or 20. He has never been able to grow up past 20.
Notes- No longer fights. Spends most of his time training his kids and grandkids as an adult. He is essentially immortal and he wants to die, but can’t. No one is really sure of his real age, because he doesn’t have a birth certificate. Four died before he was born and no one knows who the mother is. First in the family named Link. Will be a kid when he is feeling sad.
Warriors: Son of Time
Name- Link Hero II
Hero Name- Green Knight
Quirk- Weapon Overload, can take any weapon and make it 100x more effective. Can channel all his power at once into an attack.
Notes- Malon wanted their eldest to be named after Time. Loves the spotlight, but not too much, makes sure he doesn’t fight in cities. Has a strict honor code.
Wind: Son of Warriors
Name- Link Hero III
Hero Name- Wind Waker
Quirk- Wind Manipulation, can control any winds. He can make them stronger, go in one direction, or fly with the wind.
Notes- Warriors loved training him and kept the family name as an honor thing. As a kid, he had to channel his powers through a baton. Doesn’t need the baton now, but it helps his allies know what he’s doing so he uses it. Currently in school for being a hero, but has accidentally taken down a major villain already. Dating Tetra, a possible small time gang member, and he is trying to get her out.
Spirit: Twin of Wind
Name- Hugo Hero
Hero Name- Spirit
Quirk- Spirit, can see and become a spirit. He can make himself a spirit, but his body is left behind. The only other spirit he sees are monsters and Spirit Zelda. Spirit Zelda is the daughter of the Mayor and her quirk is Ghost, the same quirk except she can possess things and can’t see Hugo.
Notes- Originally going to become a support dev, but Wind dragged him into a battle and he helped take down a crime boss. This moved him to the hero program.
Twilight: Son of Time
Name- Talon Hero
Hero Name- Twilight Beast
Quirk- Night Wolf, he can turn into a wolf at twilight and turns human at dawn. The only way to stop or reverse the power is to give him something he has a strong attachment to.
Notes- Clear favorite of Time. Time trained him and gave him his sword to fight during the day. Would’ve been an underground hero if people didn’t find him cool and if he wasn’t the son of Link. Named after Malon’s father. First got his quirk with as a child Time have him a puppy and he was so excited he turned into a wolf.
Past: Son of Time
Name- Phillip Hero
Hero Name- Legend
Quirk- Item Attractor, no matter what, Past always gets the right item he needs to win a fight.
Name- Phillip Hero II
Hero Name- Acrylic
Quirk- Paint, can turn himself into a painting and travel through walls that way. The painting style changes based on his mood.
Hyrule: Brother of Worlds
Name- Link Hero IV
Hero Name- Link
Quirk- Adventure, he always walks into danger or finds unknown areas.
Notes- doesn’t think he’s that big of a hero, even though he is super famous. The youngest of all of the Hero family. Doesn’t have a hero name, but he is the only Link who is an active hero at the moment.
Wild: Adopted son of Time
Name- N/A Called Wild
Hero Name- N/A
Quirk- Champion, can call upon unknown forces that help him battle with different powers. The quirk also makes him find the biggest threat and help whoever needs it.
Notes- Amnesiac that was found passed out in the Hero’s mansion. Doesn’t remember his name and no one knows who he is. Got the name Wild because he didn’t know how to speak when found and tried to attack anything. Not officially a hero, but he is doing everything good and hasn’t harmed or destroyed anything, so they let him be. Has some connection to the family, but no one know it yet.
BASIC INFO.
Name: Aquamarina ‘Aqua’ Caulder Age: 28 Occupation: Journalist District: Four Parents: Glitter & River Caulder Sexuality: Homosexual FC: Alison Brie
BIOGRAPHY.
Being the middle child is never easy. You’re not indulged by your parents’ undivided affection like the first, nor the ability to get away with murder like the last. Aquamarina Caulder was born the second of three middle children, to parents that would ultimately have six children, three boys and three girls. Though many would complain about having so many siblings, never being able to retain their parents’ undivided attention for more than two minutes at a time, Aqua never saw her large family as a problem. Quite the opposite, in fact. She loves all her siblings, and growing up, they all managed to bring something different to the table. It kept things interesting. Perhaps too interesting for her parents at times, but they’d get over it.
Aqua grew up living within a fairly sheltered bubble. She had two older siblings and protective Victors for parents, wanting to shield her from any troubles in the world she may come across. To her, the Games were more of a nuisance than anything else. Travelling to the Capitol every year was exciting at first, but grew bothersome as Aqua got older, it seemed the novelty had worn off. Her reaping outfit was uncomfortable, and standing in the heat during the summer reapings was annoying at worst. To her, they never felt quite real. Both her parents were Victors, she knew that much, but she wasn’t there for their Games. They weren’t truly real to her. At least, until she was thirteen. Her fourth reaping, as dull and dreary as ever.
That was, until her name was plucked from the reaping bowl.
She barely had a chance to step forward before her older sister’s hand was up in the air, volunteering before Aqua was able to process what was happening. The next two weeks were the most harrowing of Aqua’s life. She was forced to watch her older sister fight for her life in the arena, and the only thing she could think during her sister’s Games was it should have been her. She was relieved, when Sapphire won. She thought, naively, that this would alleviate some of her guilt. That seeing her sister happy and healthy and alive would stop the voice in the back of her mind telling her that she should be dead.
Of course, nothing could ever be that easy. Sapphire just wasn’t the same after she came out of the arena. Her strong, invincible sister tried to hide how the Games had affected her, but Aqua watched carefully. She saw the haunted look in Sapphire’s eyes when her Games were mentioned, the same look she came to recognise in her parents, when she watched carefully enough. She hated seeing her sister traumatised by an experience that should have been hers to bear, and worse, she hated seeing her sister, her parents, everyone, pretend that everything was fine for her benefit.
Some part of her, a deep down, more sensible part, knew that had Sapphire not volunteered she would be dead. She would be dead, and she’d been handed a second chance at life. Even if that chance came at the price of her sister’s suffering, Aqua became determined not to waste it. She seized every opportunity life threw at her eagerly, and lived with a unique optimism that she supposed only came with knowing she was living on borrowed time. Those who knew her would describe her as easy going, but passionate. She chose her battles carefully, but once she started something, it was nearly impossible to get her to stop.
It didn’t particularly matter what she was passionate about at any one time, whether it be a girl or one of her many ‘causes’. She would adopt new causes to get riled up about throughout her childhood and adolescence. Whether it be the month she gave up meat, or boycotting businesses in District four because they didn’t align with whatever her values were at the time. It must have annoyed those around her to no end, but she loved to feel as though she was ‘sticking it to the man’, which was the oft-quoted reasoning behind her crusades.
For someone as opinionated as Aqua, journalism may have seemed a strange choice. They’re supposed to remain rational and report the facts, something she had never been particularly good at. She was fired from her first job at a newspaper in District Four for attempting to pitch a story painting the Games in a negative light. Looking back on it, even Aqua can see this was probably a mistake. However, a few weeks after losing her job, Aqua was contacted by one of her now former co-workers, claiming to be affiliated with an organisation known as the ‘Black Eagles’, something she was unfamiliar with at the time. He was offering her a job working for a small, independent paper in the Capitol. She would operate under a pseudonym and have the right to publish whatever she wanted. Aqua barely had a second thought before she was on the train to the Capitol.
Aqua has been living in the Capitol since then, for almost three years now. Though she knows that suddenly up and leaving District Four might be a little disappointing, and putting her life at risk might seem insane to her family, she knows she’s doing the right thing. Aqua is willing to do just about anything to get the story, even if this sometimes means putting her safety at risk. The people in power shouldn’t be able to get away with whatever they want, and if Aqua is the only person willing to shed light on their going-ons, then so be it.
PERSONALITY
MBTI: ENTP Alignment: Chaotic Good Hogwarts House: Gryffindor Positive Traits: passionate, optimistic, sincere, intense Negative Traits: flighty, impulsive, stubborn, emotional
Aqua has always been a little rebellious. She became a journalist because it was so different to what her other family members were doing, she dyed her hair blue when she was sixteen because she was told not to. She enjoys the thrill of her work, feeling like she’s breaking the law (which, technically, she is), and yet doing the right thing. Aqua’s moral compass, though sometimes slightly skewed, is strong. She believes she’s doing the right thing in her work, she knows that letting these people get away with whatever they want is wrong, and that being even a small part of reckoning the President and the Games will somehow make up for the fact that Sapphire volunteered for her.
Aqua is an odd mix of laid-back and ardent. She either takes things too seriously, or not seriously at all. She’s a very all-or-nothing person, and has never half-assed anything in her life. She’s endlessly optimistic, but she’s quick to sense when she is being lied to. Though naturally very open, she is quick to shut down when someone breaks her trust. She wears her heart on her sleeve, but is smart enough to know when to keep her mouth shut.
CONNECTIONS
Sapphire and Tetra Caulder - sisters
Marlin, Storm, and Neptune Caulder - brothers
Cordelia Kahuna - roommate. Apparently working as an anonymous editor for a paper that legally doesn’t exist isn’t as lucrative as might seem. Known Cordelia since the younger was born, when she opened up her florist in the Capitol, Aqua suggested they share an apartment, both to keep the rent down, and keep loneliness at bay.
Ex/current girlfriend - wanted
Coworkers - wanted
I am seriously open to just about anything, so please do not hesitate to hmu with ideas!!
what are your headcanon personalities for the 3d links?
OOOOOAAAAAAAHHH I LOVE TALKING ABOUT THIS!!!!!
I did post some of my headcanons in detail a long time ago but since I love talking about them it wouldn’t hurt to talk about them again. Fair warning though, this reply gets LONG.
SS: Basically a big cuddly bunny. Very sweet and affectionate. He’s always daydreaming and losing focus in class (mostly due to his ADHD). He’s also slept in every possible surface you can sleep on in Skyloft. And when he was younger Groose and the gang™ would even have a contests to see how many random objects they can place on and around him before he notices and wakes up (the highest record was 3 books, 10 sky stags, 30 small loftwing feathers, 7 eggs, 2 pot lids, 20 rupees, and a remlit). But there little contests eventually stopped when Zelda chewed Groose out for it. Speaking of Zelda, Link actually kinda enjoys how much she fusses over him. He likes having someone who looks after him, which could be partially because his parents died when he was very young so the only one who was every there to encourage him and make sure he didn’t get into any trouble was Zelda. Does Link have a crush on Zelda? Oh yes, ABSOLUTELY. But the kid has a tendency to be super oblivious to things sometimes and he can’t seem to figure out that Zelda likes him too. Almost all the other kids and even professors at the academy can see it (hence why Groose feels so threatened by him) but Link just seems completely oblivious to it all. He doesn’t even fully realize the full extent of his feelings for her until he has to save her from Gihrahim and The Imprisoned. Now as for his relationship with Groose, Groose was never the kind of bully who was brutal and beat Link up and try to torture him constantly. He and the gang™ would just throw some bad insults and pull mean pranks on Link from time to time. Even if he did want to be brutal he’d never have the guts to do it out of fear of Zelda getting upset at him. However there was ONE pretty bad incident where Link and Groose got in a big fight and Groose ended up giving him a bloody nose. (Groose did get suspended for a while after that.) However despite all this Link never really hated Groose, at most he just found him really annoying and irritating. But after the events the events that took place in Skyward Sword, Link and Groose actually became pretty good friends.Before Link went on his quest he didn’t think too highly of himself or think he was that special. All he felt like was some kid with barely passing grades trying to become a knight. He wanted to become partially to honor his parens who ere both knights and even met at the academy, and also because his grades at his old normal school were horrific and Knight Academy has easier academic classes (so like math, history, and english) but is seen as an acceptable alternative to normal school since being a knight is considered an honor. During his quest he began to mature a lot more. No matter how scared or exhausted he got he refused to give up because he knew Zelda needed him and the only way to ever see her again was to keep pushing on. His journey did get emotionally taxing at times but he did manage to pull through without losing himself. And he didn’t do it just because someone told him to, he did it to save the girl he loved. After Zelda was crowned as the first queen if Hyrule she did marry Link who then became the first king. When they were in their early to mid 20s they had some kiddos who Link absolutely spoiled rotten.
WW/PH: Weird awkward gremlin child. Doesn’t sleep quite as much as Sky did but he still sleeps quite a bit. Not the most socially inept Link and certainly was not the most confident Link when he started out his adventure. But his little sister Aryll looks up to him nonetheless. Although he was not anywhere near prepared for what he ended up getting thrown into on his 12th birthday he did always have some sense of adventure. He would often explore and play the forrest with his little sister. Growing up as the oldest child on the island, Link is used to playing and communicating with younger children. But unfortunately he also has a bit of a hard time socializing with children around his own age. All the other kids on outset island were like 4-8 years old, the only time he saw kids his age or older than him was on the rare occasion that a ship would stop by to restock IF it just so happened to have a family with children on board. The first kid his age he actually befriended was Tetra who is FAR from a normal child. At first Link was even quite intimidated by her until when eventually he got used to her shenanigans. Tetra did not like him AT ALL at first. Like Link, she never had much interaction with children her own age, but unlike Link, rather than growing up with nothing but younger kids, she grew up around nothing but adults and learned how to boss them around pretty well too. Link saw her as bossy and mean at first and Tetra saw him as kind of a pest who was just there to get in her way. But they did eventually warm up to each other and became close friends. They were an odd couple but somehow it worked out. Link never gave leaving Outset much thought until his sister was kidnapped. His original plan was to get her back as fast as possible and head back home. Buuut as we all know that didn’t work out as planned. Throughout his journey Link gained much more self confidence and wasn’t as easily intimidated by challenges. After the events of WW and after Tetra and the crew™ went out to find new land, Link wrote letters to home every day. He tried to keep his family updated on his adventures as much as he could. And years after the events of PH Link and Tetra did get married and became the rulers of New Hyrule. They had like… way too many kids…. Like… 10…. TEN CHILDREN. (4 of which they had before they were even married) The little gremlins could be absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to control at times but Link still adored them anyways. Link’s family came to the wedding. Grandma was still alive but very old and weak. If there was one last things she wanted to do it was to see her grandson as a full grown man with a family. Aryll was a grown woman and had a family of her own. And Linebeck was there too! And Grandma recognized him… and Linebeck recognizes her… she does not remember him fondly and starts threatening him… apparently he dated her daughter years ago and broke her heart, came back 4 years later, promised to marry her, and then fucked off again never to return…. Oh wait then this must mean…. oh shit… THE WEDDING RECEPTION HAS SUDDENLY BECOME VERY AWKWARD.
OoT/MM: Oh this one…. this one ain’t happy… Link was the only child in Kokiri Forrest who often dreamt of the outside world. When he set off on his quest he was cheerful excitable and ready to see new sights and meet new friends! He was a but scared of adults at first because up until then he had never seen an adult before (other than the Great Deku Tree that is). This carried into the part of his journey where he aged up 7 years. He still only had the mind of a young child so he still felt like he was on a fun adventure. But that did not last… he eventually became extremely traumatized, basically ripped away from his childhood and forced to grow up when he wasn’t ready. He had lost who he was before. When he was sent back to his childhood came back mature beyond his years but also traumatized. He could never be the same again. This only got worse in MM. He started to get angry more often, felt much older than other children his age. He could however, handle a lot more hardships than he could have in the past. He was not afraid to get up in people’s faces, he was not easy to intimidate, some monsters would even cower away in fear when they saw him. Despite how shockingly young he was he was able to give off an intimidating presence if he wanted to. After the events of MM he never really was able to find Navi, and it took him many years to find his way back to Hyrule. Along the way he ended up losing Epona in a battle. He was all alone. He NEEDED to make it back to Hyrule. During the events of OoT he did indeed end up falling in love with Zelda/Sheik and was hoping to ask her hand in marriage when he finally made it back to Hyrule. But when he finally did it was too late and Zelda was already married to someone else. He ended up marrying Malon instead and had children with her. He did love her very much, but there was always something deep inside that mad him yearn for his soulmate. Malon did notice this but decided never to bring it up. But even though Link never became the prince of Hyrule he was able to get a position as a high ranking Knight. One night before Link set off to battle, he felt in his gut something bad was going to happen. So did Zelda. They tried to convince themselves it was just nervousness but deep down they knew something was going to happen. So for that one night, the two let themselves give in to their feelings and they kissed. Just once before he left.Link never returned from the battle.
TP: He looks stern at first glance but he’s really quite gentile and kindhearted. He has a great love for animals, is very good with kids, and probably unironically uses the word “ya’ll'id’ve”.Teenage girls go absolutely crazy over him but he’s not too interested in dating or girls. He’s kind of a chill dude actually. Unlike Sky Link, he can focus on things easily and is very good at completing the task on hand quickly. He’s also nice to talk to because he’s a very good listener and never interrupts or speaks over people. He has very good manners for a boy his age. As for where Link came from, no one really knows…. Hanch and Jaggle just sorta found him wandering around aimlessly in the forest as a toddler and all the villagers in Ordon made it a group effort to raise him. There were some blod stains on his clothing when he was found that did not come from him, suggesting that his original caretakers were killed by monsters (who were most likely really after Link because of his triforce birthmark). He was never really around other Hylians growing up, so Zelda was the first Hylian he ever met, or at leasts remembers meeting. Link found Midna a bit irritating at first because of all the teasing but after a while he would start to playfully smart mouth her back and the two started to make it into this sort of game of who could come up with the best sassy comebacks. Before his journey Link never felt like he had a big purpose or anything like that. He didn’t even know that the triforce birthmark he had meant anything. He was raised by humans with human culture and legends, not Hylian culture. So he sure had a lot to learn. When he discovered that he was the hero of legend it was all a bit overwhelming. But he did it anyways. He wanted to make sure his friends were okay more than anything. After the events of TP Link stayed in Hyrule and became a knight. When he got older he started to fancy the (now queen) Zelda who he had become good friends with over the years. Unfortunately… he didn’t live long enough to propose to her. He died at the age of 20 of a serious infection from a poison arrow that went unnoticed. When he was still ill but knew he wouldn’t make it he requested to be brought back to Ordon so he could pass away at home, and he stayed in his wolf form the entire time so his friends would not be able to see how much he was really suffering. Zelda insisted to be at his side. She had a great respect for him and he was a good friend. She never fully knew how he felt about her, but the final look Link had given her when he looked into her eyes for the last time was a look of pure love. There is a legend that says each time the hero or princess dies they can see all of their past live’s memories in their final moments…
BOTW: Can be shy, very quiet, but incredibly sweet. Like Sky Link, this Link has ADHD. Except instead of not being able to focus, he has the type of ADHD that makes him VERY VERY HYPER. As a young child it was hard to keep him from climbing over and running over everything. And on top of all that he has incredibly high energy levels. He very reckless as a little kid but he saw it all as just fun and games. He would laugh, giggle a lot, and even speak loudly. But it all changed when his father started to train him as a knight… Most would assume Link chose this path. People think he did it because he wanted to be like his father. But truth be told, his relationship with his father was actually cold, controlling, and emotionally draining. Link’s father made him dedicate all his time to training. He was no longer allowed to play with the other children because his father wanted to discourage childish things like playing. He was deprived most of his childhood. He did however, become an exceptional knight. And he learned how to control his hyperactive tendencies. But he also developed high levels of anxiety. He was used to being severely punished if he slipped up so he made sure to try his best to never show what he was feeling or thinking when on the job. And when he found out he was the hero of legend his anxiety got all the worse. He couldn’t even speak anymore he was so terrified of making a mistake. He became selectively mute and only spoke around close friends like Mipha, or when someone who has a higher level of authority asked him a question, speaking in a very soft, quiet, and sometimes even difficult to hear voice. (this didn’t stop him from muttering smartass remarks @ Revali under his breath from time to time though)When he was assigned to be Zelda’s knight it changed his world. He was surprised how much he could relate to her, he LOVED listening to her ramble on and on about her interests, and every time she smiled it made him briefly forget all of his anxieties. However, fearing that he may say something he regrets, he rarely spoke to her. So all he could do was be there next to her, silently falling more and more in love. Eventually Zelda did get him to open up more and although he was shy at first he did greatly enjoy speaking with her. They related to each other a lot and felt an instant connection.After Link awoke from the shrine of resurrection, he did not remember anything of his past, including his father. So he no longer felt too much of a pressure to hide his emotions so much. He did however, carry on some habbits he had from back then. Things like rarely speaking unless spoken too and some of his anxiety issues stayed. When he regained all his memories of Zelda he remembered how in love he was. The emotions would hit him hard. And gave him more the reason to want to save her. On his quest he showed a lot of his old personality traits that he used to show when he was younger. Being a lot more cheerful, very friendly, and just wanting to run around and go on adventures. He also eats. A LOT. And this kid will literally eat anything (except live frogs). He’s literally cooked a pile of rocks before and he STILL ate it. He’s trained himself to be quite the chef even though not all the dishes always end up great (hence the rocks). Link also likes animals similar to Twilight Link. He is especially fond of horses. He’s one of those people who has this strange ability to calm down horses a lot more quickly than most people. Even though Link can hide his emotions there is one thing he can’t hide. And thats blushing. When he blushes his face and ears get very red and it is noticeable. And he blushed so much around Zelda that she just assumed that’s what he normally looked like. After the events of BOTW Link did eventually reagin the rest of his memories piece by piece. Some memories he was happy to remember, and others would sometimes make him an emotional sobbing mess and Zelda would have to stay up all night comforting him. When Link and Zelda finally revealed their true feelings for each other Zelda almost immediately wanted to ask for Link’s hand in marriage but she stopped herself out of fear of overwhelming him. So she waited to ask him a year later. They decided to start a family soon and to have many children because the Yiga clan was still out there and would not hesitate to kill Zelda given the chance, ending the Goddess’s bloodline. Having many children would be kind of like insurance. If one of them gets slain there will still be others left to continue the bloodline. A morbid thought that Link and Zelda did not like to think about but it was true. They ended up parenting 11 of their own children and 2 that Link adopted on impulse because he has a huge soft spot for kids and Zelda of course could not refuse. (yes know that’s more kids than Wind Link had but at least these ones were PLANNED).Link and Zelda made sure to give them the childhoods that they never had. Link made damn sure that he did NOT raise them like his father raised him. He did teach them how to climb, shoot arrows, and basic sword combat for survival reasons but he did his best to never force anything onto them. And surprisingly, the kids were usually well behaved (much unlike Wind Link’s kids). This could be because Link has a very calming presence around people. People no matter what age seem to be much more at ease when he’s around, especially Zelda.
I believe Breath of the Wild belongs in the Adult Timeline!
I’m going to talk a lot about several things that happen in BOTW that make me believe this. Just so people are clear, the Adult Time is Wind Waker, etc.
I’ll be going into spoilers, but I’ll do a cutoff point when I start going into that.
-
Koroks
I’ve seen the ‘they’re in it so it’s possible’, but no, listen... they evolved from Kokoris because of the Great Sea in Wind Waker (WW). This should be proof enough, right? I doubt the other timelines are capable of Koroks existing, unless somewhere they too have a sea of some kind.
Here’s the exact quote from the Great Deku Tree himself:
"Once upon a time, long ago, the Koroks took on human forms, but when they came to live on the sea, they took these shapes. Now they fear people... but to me, they will ever be my cherished little children."
Some of them even look like the ones in WW:
Tumblr media
This might not necessarily mean it’s canon that some look like this in BOTW, since there are 900 of them hiding in BOTW, so they used a few designs over and over again, thus, might just be a throwback to WW. Still, it’s a nice thought they maybe there’s still a connection, maybe even a bloodline from Koroks in WW to Koroks in BOTW.
Which brings me to my next point... there are a lot more Koroks in BOTW than in WW. In WW, there were only a handful, and BOTW having over 900. Design recycle or not, I still believe this to be canon. I also thought of something else I hadn’t before, but remember that mission in WW where the Koroks went to plant trees across the Great Sea? It only makes sense right that with more trees, they could thrive, hence, a bigger population.
In Spirit Tracks (ST), I believe there is no sea (I haven’t played that game yet, sorry), after Tetra found a new land and called it Hyrule, after the old Hyrule was flooded, so it only makes sense that BOTW takes place... I’d say well after ST.
Another thing I want to bring up are some of the Koroks are a lot older than most. Hetsu is over 100 years old, and there was a Korok elder too. In WW, the Koroks were all pretty young, or at least not elders or/and as big as Hetsu. The Great Deku Tree even referred them as children in WW, which makes me believe they’re still pretty young. Here’s a pic of said elder:
Tumblr media
-
The Great Deku Tree
He is still with the Koroks as he was in WW, and to my knowledge, he isn’t in the Child Timeline at all after OoT. I have nothing really to add to this.
-
Ritos
The Ritos were introduced in WW too, evolving from the Zoras. It’s unclear as to why they evolved, but it might be connected with the sea again. I have read theories that the Great Sea’s water may not be suitable for Zoras. My problem however with this is that Zoras do exist in BOTW alongside Ritos... so I can only assume not every Zora evolved into a Rito. Where they were in WW though is beyond me. Maybe they were living elsewhere that wasn’t of the Great Sea, it’s possible.
-
Nabooru and Ruto
Both Nabooru and Ruto are mentioned in BOTW for their heroics. I don’t recall when/where exactly Ruto is mentioned, but I know she is. Urbosa is the one that mentions Nabooru though. Both awoken as Sages though, which only happened in the Downfall and Adult Timelines. The Child Timeline was when Link was sent back to re-live his life as a child, meaning the events of Ganondorf technically never happened, so he isn’t remembered as a hero, the Sages aren’t needed, etc.
Here is the exact quote from Urbosa:
"Nabooru... Legend of the Gerudo, celebrated over ages. And you, who were named to honor her—you are a legend as well."
-
Other Sage references
I’ve just discovered something else (OMG I’m actually amazed at this!) The Divine Beast of Death Mountain, Vah Rudania... Rudania is an anagram for Darunia, who was a Goron Sage! I knew Rudania sounded familiar from the start, but didn’t really dwell on it until now. So they basically named it after him, similar to how Ruta for Ruto, Naboris for Nabooru, and Medoh for Medli. Interestingly, I believe the Japanese for Medli is Medor... which is very close.
-
Place names
My last point to make is the location in BOTW known as Linebeck Island. Linebeck (and Linebeck III) are characters that exist in the Adult Timeline only (as of now).
While there are 2 other locations in BOTW that might debunk my theory that BOTW belongs in the Adult Timeline (Toronbo Beach and Koholit Rock, which are play on locations in Link’s Awakening, which is of the Downfall Timeline), they are just play on those places, and I believe are words that can just be made up. Linebeck however was an actual character, so I believe they named that Island after him/them. Here is Linebeck Island:
As of now I can’t think of anything else to add, but feel free to respond in any way. I’d love to hear your opinions! :D
Note
Lore is good for a good laugh, how about doing the same for the rest of the leader Trio
A.k.a Gen, and Dusk
Gen’s Version
Minish Cap: He’s adopting this small-child Zelda, effective immediately.  Interestingly enough, Vaati still retains the Picori fear of being eaten by a large bird.  Why does he know this?  Oh, no reason.
Four Swords: This is bizarre.  But on the bright side, now he has three extra voices to shout at people with.
Ocarina of Time: He’s adopting this small-child Zelda, effective immediately.  Also, the Master Sword is here?  Wonder how Fi’s doing these days.
Majora’s Mask:  He’s adopting the Skull Kid, effective immediately.  And also punching Majora in the face.
Twilight Princess: Midna’s fighting the adoption process for all she’s worth, so he’s clearly just going to have to do this subtly.  Maybe if he punches Zant in the face she’d be more open to it.
Four Swords Adventures:  Still bizarre.  But on the bright side, the individual autonomy means that he gets quadruple the potion-carrying capacity!
A Link To The Past:  Zelda won’t let him adopt her, which, rude.  He’ll just have to make up for it by destroying all her enemies... starting with that one advisor who cackles madly in empty rooms when nobody else is around.
Oracle of Ages:  He’s like ninety percent sure that's actually Nayru in disguise.  Best to be polite, just in case.
Oracle of Seasons:  He’s like ninety percent sure that’s actually Din in disguise.  He’d be polite, except that she seems to prefer honesty.  Whatever works.
Link’s Awakening.  He’s adopting Marin, effective immediat- what do you mean, it’s not real?
The Legend of Zelda:  He’d adopt Zelda, except that he has to go through Ganon first.  Time to showcase exactly why you don’t piss off the medic.
A Link Between Worlds:  He’s adopting Zelda, effective immediately, and also her purple-haired counterpart.  Side note, he’ll also be adopting Ravio, just as soon as he convinces the poor boy to leave the house.
Wind Waker: The only thing stopping him from adopting Aryll is that they’re already related.  Tetra, on the other hand, won’t stop arguing with him about it.  That’s fine, he’s patient.
Spirit Tracks: He’s adopting this small-child Zelda, effective immediately.  There’s way too many creepy people hanging around her anyways, that one Chancellor guy just smiles way too widely to be natural.
Dusk’s Version
Skyward Sword: Turns out that his reflex response to being snuck up on is to stab the perceived attacker in the stomach.  On the bright side, Ghirahim won’t be bothering him much anymore.
Minish Cap: Ezlo is a less bossy version of Midna.  It makes him feel nostalgic.
Four Swords: Huh, it works on his wolf form too. Neat.
Ocarina of Time: Did nobody consider just burying the Sacred Stones in a cave somewhere that Ganondorf will never find them?
Majora’s Mask: He has this incredibly irrational urge to howl at the Moon, which seems... questionable, at best.
Four Swords Adventures: This whole ‘Moon Gate’ thing seems awfully familiar.  Midna has some explaining to do.
A Link To The Past:  This whole ‘Dark World’ thing seems awfully familiar.  It’s even got the animal forms.  Midna has some explaining to do.
Oracle of Ages: Possession is rude and uncalled for.  Also that is almost certainly Nayru in disguise and he really can’t let a deity’s avatar get piloted around like a meat suit, can he.
Oracle of Seasons: It’s not his first dragon.  Also that is almost certainly Din in disguise, and he really can’t let a deity’s avatar get fried to a crisp, can he.
Link’s Awakening: Wolves and Windfish whales apparently speak the same language, which is helpful for figuring out what is and is not real, but not so much for the actual problem-solving.  Thanks for nothing.
The Legend of Zelda: Literally nobody cares about the giant wolf running around when there’s a much more concerning giant pig kidnapping their Princess.  It’s a nice change if nothing else.
A Link Between Worlds: This whole ‘Lorule’ thing seems awfully familiar.  At least they seem to have fixed the animal thing.  Midna still has some explaining to do.
Wind Waker: He is never going to get the salt out of his fur.
Spirit Tracks: Wolves were not made to pilot trains, but humans were not made to see ghosts.  It’s a conundrum.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: It seemed, for the first few years of his life, like Jason Weir would be pretty normal. He was born in Toronto, the only child of a hardworking young couple who loved and doted on him, and seemed set to be a happy, ordinary kid. Things started to go sideways at the age of twelve when a devastating car accident killed both his parents. With no family members close enough or able enough to look after him, Jason entered the foster system. For six years he bounced between homes, trying to fit in wherever he was placed and utterly refusing to talk about or deal with the deaths of his parents. There were children in the system who had it worse than he did but that doesn’t mean Jason’s experience was easy. In spite of this unstable period, Jason managed to graduate high school with good grades and left the foster system at eighteen determined to become a police officer. The things he’d witnessed in foster care gave him the drive to become not only a productive member of society but also gain a position where he could help or do something about the parts of the system that were broken.
Over the next two decades, Jason achieved his goal of becoming a cop. By the time he was 37, he’d risen through the ranks of the Toronto Police Service and was a Staff Inspector working mostly on the gang problem in the city. Jason had proven himself to be an exemplary officer who could think on his feet but wasn’t overly impulsive. Work became pretty much all he had since, outside of the Service, he had few social ties. Instead of trying to improve this situation or wallowing in loneliness, Jason took on as many cases as he could to stay as busy as possible. He was well liked in the Service, by both peers and commanding officers, though some of them secretly thought he worked too hard. Still, most seemed to take that as a sign of his dedication to his work and he was generally a pleasant person to be around.
A few months ago, Jason and his partner were pursuing gang members across Lake Ontario. During the chase, Jason was shot and fell into the water. In spite of being a decent swimmer, he blacked out soon after falling, likely due to blood loss. When he woke up again, he was still in the water, completely alone and with no trace of the bullet wound aside from the hole in his clothing. Confused and shaken, he made his way out of the water and to the hospital. No bullet wound was found (how? He knew he’d been shot, he remembered the impact) and he was deemed to be in good health. Jason later discovered that his partner had been killed in the pursuit and that, coupled with the fact that he was sure he’d been shot and didn’t understand why he hadn’t drowned, made his superiors decide he needed some time off to deal with the trauma. He saw a therapist (because he was forced to) and sort of tried to talk about what he thought had happened, told them about the dreams he kept having of a woman’s face underwater, and how he felt different. Jason was drawn to the water like he never had been before and found himself swimming at odd times. He tried to pretend he didn’t notice the different colour of his skin in direct sunlight or the gills on his neck when he swam, and a sudden seeming ability to actually breathe underwater. Jason never told the therapist about those things and chocked them up to his imagination. As visibly shaken as he was and unable to resume his previous quality of work, his commanding officers decided it might help to transfer him to a small, quiet town in northern Ontario called Red Creek until he got his feet back under him. Jason packed up and moved, hoping the small town would help calm him and eventually stop the crazy hallucinations he thought he was having.
HEADCANONS:
Headcanon 1: Jason has no idea that he is now a tetra and knows nothing about the supernatural world. Unbeknownst to him, when he was shot and fell into Lake Ontario, Valentina De La Cruz found him and drowned him in an attempt to turn him and save his life. Frightened by the possible outcome, she left before knowing whether it had worked or not which is why Jason woke up alone and remains oblivious.
Headcanon 2: He has a chronic addiction to coffee. Given his propensity for working such long hours, he depends on it to keep him awake and alert. Jason can go through a few pots a day and while it can and often does make him jittery, he prefers the tense wakefulness to the nightmares that plague him and the loneliness of his empty apartment.
Headcanon 3: Jason avoids dealing with difficult emotions, especially grief, and tends to repress or ignore them. He still hasn’t really dealt with his parents’ deaths properly and while he was forced to see a therapist after what happened on the lake, he quickly decided that he just needed to push past it and all the strange things that were happening would go away. This repression hasn’t served him well throughout his life and he’s been on the verge of breakdowns several times but has managed to avoid it by throwing himself wholly and completely into work. Like a time bomb that will eventually go off, it’s likely that all of the things he hasn’t dealt with will eventually explode out of him and wreak havoc.
Backstory:
Eleanora was orphaned at the age of one. However, at age 3, her current mother and father had adopted her.
It was when she was taken home did she realize she could understand Pokemon when met with the family’s Meowth. When telling her parents, they didn’t really believe her. At age 5, when she was enrolled in school, her father started becoming more scarce in her life. While school seemed alright at first, many of the children quickly grew annoyed with her, because of her being way too talkative. As a result, they either ignored her, or bullied her into shutting up. Her mother always told her to keep smiling, as smiling would make even the bleakest of situations brighter. In the meantime, she had talked with the staff to do something to protect her daughter.
Unfortunately, the bullying only got worse when she had one day admitted to being able to understand Pokemon. They had viewed her as crazy. One particularly malicious child had forcibly cut her hair. While that kid was expelled for it, the bullying issues still continued, causing her to grow more distant from humans, and talking with Meowth pushed her closer to Pokemon.
When her father became basically non existent in the family’s life, her mother decided it was time to move. At one point, her mother saw Professor Kukui in the Indigo League and saw his Alolan Pokemon. Knowing that Eleanora loved Pokemon, she decided that she’d love to go there and have Alolan Pokemon of her own.
So she contacted the Professor, and asked him to get to know her daughter and basically pump her up for moving to Alola. And thus, her Alolan journey began.
Now the first champion of Alola, Eleanora is spending her days more thoroughly exploring Alola, completing the Pokedex, looking for remaining Zygarde cells and cores, assisting the UB Task Force, and somewhat considering traveling other regions. She is always up to battle, or just generally lending a hand to anyone that asks.
