Bad Credit Term Loan Canada - What You Need to Know
If you have bad credit, it used to be difficult to find a lender to work with. These days, there are many lenders that will work with people who have poor credit. These loans are easy to apply for, and are easy to repay as well. But before you apply, it's important to know what to expect.
Tumblr media
Short-term loans are unsecured
A short-term loan in Canada is an unsecured loan that is payable over a short period of time. These loans usually involve less money than other installment loans and are paid back quickly. Most lenders in Canada offer these types of loans online and in person. These types of loans are deposited directly into your bank account and require you to make a set payment schedule. These types of loans can cost anywhere from 3% to 60%.
The application process for short-term loans is usually quick and easy. There is no credit check required and you must be working full-time and live at the same address for six months. In addition, you cannot be in a state of bankruptcy or wage garnishment. You must also be able to demonstrate a need for the loan, and that you will repay it in a timely manner.
They are not repaid over a long period of time
Term Loan Canada are loans that are not consolidated, and they can be used to fund various business needs. These loans are often used to finance the start-up costs of a business, such as paying for inventory and production expenses. They are also helpful for business owners who need to finance a new location, hire more employees, or refinance existing debt. Term loans are also helpful in funding the training of new employees, and can help free up cash flow in the long run.
The repayment schedule for term loans can be flexible, with monthly or quarterly payments. Some loans also have a fixed maturity date, which can be anything from a year to 25 years. Some term loans require collateral and require a rigorous approval process. This reduces the risk of default. Also, early repayment is not penalized.
They can be secured or unsecured
Secured and unsecured personal loans offer different advantages over the other type of loan. Unsecured loans can be easier to get, but come with higher interest rates. They are often used to pay for things like car purchases, education costs, medical bills, or other personal needs. Secured personal loans may be more difficult to get, but can give you more money in a shorter time.
Depending on your needs and financial situation, you may want to choose an unsecured loan. Secured loans can be secured or unsecured, but you will have to meet certain criteria in order to qualify for one. You will need to have a good credit score to qualify for an unsecured loan, and lenders will check your credit. You may also have to provide collateral such as a home or a car.
They are easy to apply for
Applying for a term loan is easy and quick. You don't need collateral and you can borrow up to $3000. You can use this loan for a variety of purposes, including paying for medical expenses, buying a new home, paying off your mortgage, and covering unexpected events. The process is quick, and you'll receive the money you need in as little as a few days.
Term loans are available from many banks and online lenders in Canada. Unlike installment loans, these loans are paid back over a relatively short period of time. Term loans usually require a repayment plan that includes a fixed payment schedule. In most cases, a loan of this type will require repayment within one year.
They are available for people with bad credit
When it comes to borrowing money, your credit score is a big factor. For most Canadians, your score ranges from 300 to 900, and is based on your payment history, canceled or closed accounts, and debt settlements. A lower score means that your chances of getting a loan are lower, and the interest rates that you will pay are higher as well. However, there are some loans available to people with bad credit.
If you need money fast but don't have the time to visit a bank, you can apply online for a short term loan. Using this loan option is quick and easy, and you can obtain the money within one business day. You may be surprised to learn that a short term loan can help you deal with an emergency.
They are flexible
Most Canadians want flexibility when it comes to choosing a lender and a loan. This means being able to choose a repayment schedule, interest rate, and loan product that suits their needs. Flex loans are one way to achieve that goal. These loans are available in a variety of different payment options, including fixed and adjustable rates.
These loans can help people in financial distress by providing short-term funds. People can use the funds to cover a bill that they cannot afford to pay in full until their next pay check arrives. These loans are available online and in physical loan stores. They operate similarly to traditional bank loans, except that the application process is more flexible and the requirements are simpler.

There has been a recent surge in repatriation/give everything back posts in Museum Tumblr so I thought I would share a story I found out about recently.
Background; I did some volunteer work for the Canadian Museum Association that included looking pretty in depth at a few exhibitions from 2023. One of them really caught my eye because it goes into an aspect of Originating Cultural Relationships that I don't see reflected in the public sector a lot even though its not that uncommon among my coworkers.
So back in the 1860s the Prince of Wales was gifted a series of baskets from the Michi Saagiig [Mississauga] women. These were a gift and have remained in the Royal Collection Trust ever since.
It is agreed upon by all parties that the Royal Collection is doing a good job caring for the baskets. However, the baskets still represent the women, the ancestors, who made them. They are family. And the living Michi Saagiig missed their grandmothers and aunts.
So the Peterborough Museum and Archives [Peterborough Canada, not the one in the UK] worked out a temporary loan from the Royal Trust Collection to bring the ancestors back 'for a visit' to their ancestral lands of Nogojwanong-Peterborough.
This was facilitated by the Museum, but the partnership was multi way, between Hiawaitha First Nation, Mississauga Nation, Museum, and the Trust.
This exhibition ran from April to November last year and was ALWAYS meant to be a 'visit' - that language is deliberate. The baskets came home for a visit before returning to their new home in the UK.
here's an article about it
Now, from a layman's perspective this might seem like a small victory - the baskets, the makakoons, didn't even stay in Hiawatha which is the modern location of the village they were made in. And it was only a few months, but still cool. Still pretty neat.
But from my perspective this is MASSIVE. This means that the ROYAL FAMILY has agreed to send things home - at least on the short term. This will bring about change in British collection law. It won't be quick. But we will see more and more British institutions sending things on visits. And eventually we will see repatriation. It is going to take a very long time, and this is by no means the first rung on the ladder. But
THE MAKAKOONS CAME HOME FOR A VISIT

I hate to crosspost this to tumblr so soon, but I need help.
I've been working so hard to save for tuition this fall for my second (and final) year of my diploma, but with rising rent costs, it's just not enough. I'm an international student (Belizean-American) attending college in Canada to live with my partner, so student loans are not an option for me, though I am still exploring other loaning options for the second semester. I need to complete this diploma if I have any hopes of remaining in the country longer-term.
All of my commissions are open, as well as donations for those who want to help without commissioning. Please DM me here or on discord (friedtiiger) if you're interested in a commission! COMMISSION INFO: https://friedtiiger.carrd.co/

you are not to shut your hand to your kinsperson in need
Tumblr media
Just a reminder, if you’re Jewish and in financial distress:
Check whether there’s a Hebrew Free Loan Society in your area.
HFLSs provide interest-free loans to Jews in need, for things like unemployment help, rent, medical care, etc. They usually adapt repayment terms on an individual basis, depending on your situation.
They differ depending on where you live, but here in Washington state, they provide:
Mini-loans of up to $1000 that don’t require a guarantor
General loans of up to $6000 with a guarantor
Loans of up to $7500 for education
I know that when you’re unemployed or going through financial hardship, it’s easy to do things like go off meds you should be on or not get medical care. I also know that evictions can absolutely wreck people.
Remember you’re not alone and you have a community who can help, even if you’re not a member of a synagogue.
(Also, remember that JCCs and/or JFSs often have food banks. It’s okay to use them if you’re dealing with financial hardship. That’s what they’re there for.)
Here’s a list of agencies in the US and Canada.
And if you’re Jewish and doing well, consider donating!

RIP, Roger Wood, genius assemblage sculptor
Tumblr media
Last week, my dear old friend Roger Wood died, very suddenly, of cancer. He was 80. Roger was a brilliant sculptor, a Canadian veteran navy gunner, and gay. He was my neighbour for a decade. I miss him already.
Roger and I both lived in an old WWI munitions factory in Toronto, which had been turned into 15 illegal live-work studios with 20-foot ceilings which leaked, massive south-facing windows (which leaked), and a warm and collegial vibe of weirdos and artists.
Roger was a self-taught sculptor, a mad collector of all sorts of junk: scrap metal, old toys, discarded electronics, decorative items. He tore these apart, painted and mutated them, and turned them into whimsical assemblages.
Many of these were built around clocks; often with a small feather attached to the second-hand that quivered as it revolved around and around the clockface. Roger was making things that could be called “steampunk” before the term existed — and once he learned it, he embraced it.
In those years, I was working very long hours on the early web, but I was often and easily sidetracked at Roger’s studio, where I’d sit and smoke cigarettes with him and hear navy stories (his time with the big guns had left him somewhat deaf) or just tour his beautiful new pieces.
Roger, too, had an incredible work ethic. He told the Toronto Star’s Barbara Turnbull, “Even on Sunday mornings, when good citizens are off to church, I’m off to the local flea market, always scrounging different bits and pieces.”
https://www.thestar.com/life/2007/10/13/timepieces_of_art.html
And he was content: “But I survive, so why complain? I think mere survival as an artist in Canada propels me into the top 10 per cent of the ranks in this country.”
Turnbull really captured Roger’s studio when she wrote: “But it’s the overwhelming number of storage containers, loosely labelled and filled with the items he uses for his fanciful designs that makes the jaw drop: picture lamp bulbs, lamp parts, wooden balls, drawer pulls, buttons, clock springs, gears and faces, dials, jewellery, candlesticks, shoemaker moulds, picture frames, musical instrument parts, vacuum tubes from old radios, gas lamp parts, typewriter keys, bottle caps, old gauges, camera lenses and nameplates.”
Roger loaned me dozens of his largest, most impressive pieces for my wedding, where he was resplendent in a hall that was filled with his sculptures. I was living in the UK at the time, and shortly after, high Toronto rents pushed Roger out of the city and to Hamilton. I saw him again a few years later when he came to an event of mine in Hamilton and we had dinner.
But then he moved back east, to Nova Scotia, where, he emailed me, he built the studio he’d always dreamt of. I didn’t see him after that, though we corresponded some. Mostly, I felt in touch with Roger because I’ve got so many of his sculptures in my home, including the diptych he gave us as a wedding gift.
Knowing Roger is gone has left an ache in my heart. He deserved to be so much better known, and better treated by the cities he graced with his art and his presence. He was a sweet, kind, talented, funny man and it showed in his art.
In Roger’s obituary in the Globe and Mail, his family says, “Donations to the Charity of Your Choice or support an artist, buy an original piece of art.” Support the artists in your life, folks, and cherish them. Goodbye, Roger. I was very lucky to count you a friend.
Here are some of my photos of Roger, his studio and his work:

RECENT ECOMMERCE NEWS (INCLUDING ETSY), LATE JUNE 2024
Tumblr media
Welcome to my latest summary of Etsy and other ecommerce news, relevant for small and microbusinesses online!

TOP NEWS & ARTICLES
Etsy has yet again changed how processing times work for some countries, and this time, they’ve opted everyone into working on every national holiday. [post by me on LinkedIn, with screenshots] Many people are happy they can officially opt out of working on some days, but not so happy Etsy opted them in. The next day, Etsy clarified that this is currently only available for Canada and the US, and is only for national holidays, not regional or provincial ones.
The old Etsy listing form disappeared as promised on June 25, and the new one is still a mess [post by me on LinkedIn]. Etsy claims to have fixed numerous issues with the new listing form, including manual translations, bulk editing, and sharing to Pattern. No word on the numerous pricing issues that have affected non-US sellers in particular through the domestic pricing tool, and that have apparently changed both variations and shipping prices for US sellers. The latest new listing form fix is the inability to save drafts, although it doesn’t seem to be working for everyone.
USPS seems to have reused its tracking numbers early recently, with widespread reports of labels created June 18 and later showing as already being delivered in April or May. I’ve updated that linked Patreon post with info on how to get Etsy to correct their own records, so that seller protection and Star Seller status are not affected.
ETSY NEWS
Wondering if your images meet Etsy’s minimum size requirements? I did a video for you [on Patreon] so you can easily check for yourself.
Etsy is still pushing shop loans through YouLend, “up to two times your monthly revenue.” Thanks to Michele from Artologica for the screenshot of the dashboard notification, and some of what you see once you click it:
Tumblr media
and a link to the Etsy program at YouLend. Please read the terms carefully, as they get repaid through your future sales. It appears to be US-sellers only.
There’s a new “Made for You” page with a lot of links to various features for buyers, but I don’t see it linked anywhere on the desktop version of the site. I also don’t really see the point, but maybe we’ll have to wait and see how they use it.
Apologies for missing this one, but sellers in Turkey must now use “ShipEntegra” to mail orders, unless they already use another service. In effect, this means all new shops in Turkey are required to sign up and only ship orders through ShipEntegra, as of June 3.
Apparently the “Buy More and Save” badge Etsy applied to some listings that already had multiple quantity discounts is just a test [item 2] per Etsy.
ECOMMERCE NEWS (minus social media)
General
Facebook appears to be removing links to EcommerceBytes on its platforms.
Amazon
Amazon's "Subscribe & Save" feature will be available for products that are not Fulfilled By Amazon items, as of June 27.
Amazon's Prime Day 2024 is July 16-17th.
“Ad Relevance” is Amazon’s proposed solution to the end of ad cookies; it has AI at its core.
North American Amazon orders will stop using plastic air pillows by the end of the year.
Amazon is facing another lawsuit on copying successful sellers’ products and manipulating the Buy Box, this time in the UK.
eBay
As of July 1, eBay will be charging most of its sellers more for Express Payouts: $2 each time instead of 1.5% of the total.
eBay is now charging buyers of luxury wallets and handbags an optional $40 for authentication, for items between $200-$499.99. Items $500 and up are still authenticated for free.
The eBay Summer 2024 Seller Update included new tools and renamed programs, but some of them had already been announced.
If you are using the eBay seller app, watch for draft listings disappearing.
Shopify
Businesses selling through Shopify can now apply to sell on Target Plus, a third-party marketplace that currently has around 1200 sellers.
Shopify now has a chatbot for site owners, called Sidekick, but it is currently only available to English stores in North America.
Walmart
Walmart+ Week started June 17th, almost a month before Amazon’s Prime Day.
All Other Marketplaces
Just a few months after ending selling fees, Mercari is laying off a substantial portion of its US-based workers. It’s also still looking for new sellers, offering credits that can be spent on the site for opening a new shop and inviting friends.
Payment Processing
Apple Pay Later is being phased out in favour of “Affirm”, a third-party Buy Now Pay Later app that will be available in more countries than Apple’s own product.
Shipping
USPS hopes to change its non-standard package surcharges by region, charging more when the package travels further.

Financing GreenBlade Lawn Care: Exploring Future Financial Sources
Starting GreenBlade Lawn Care with $50 has been exciting. As we plan to expand, we need more funding. The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) article, “4 factors that could affect financing your start-up,” helps us understand our options.
Personal Investment and Bootstrapping
Reinvesting profits (bootstrapping) is great for early stages but might limit quick growth.
Angel Investors
Angel investors are individuals who fund start-ups in exchange for ownership equity or convertible debt. They offer:
Experience and Mentorship: Valuable guidance for business decisions.
Network Connections: Access to potential customers and partners.
Flexible Terms: More flexible than traditional lenders.
We’d have to give up some equity for their investment.
Bank Loans
Bank loans are another option. We need to consider:
Creditworthiness: Good credit and a solid business plan are essential.
Collateral: Banks often require assets to secure the loan.
Repayment Terms: We must ensure our cash flow can handle repayments and interest.
Government Grants and Subsidies
Government grants and subsidies offer non-repayable funds, especially for businesses with goals like ours:
Non-Repayable Funds: No need to repay, preserving cash flow.
Support for Sustainable Practices: Aligns with our eco-friendly mission.
Application Process: Competitive and time-consuming but worthwhile.
Factors to Consider
BDC highlights four factors affecting financing:
Industry Risk: Lawn care is stable but seasonal and weather-dependent.
Market Potential: Strong growth projections attract investors and lenders.
Business Plan: A comprehensive plan with strategy and financial projections is crucial.
Management Team: Skilled management increases credibility and funding chances.
By exploring these options and considering these factors, we can secure the necessary funding to grow GreenBlade Lawn Care and bring our eco-friendly services to more customers.

Funding Plan for Chandan House Painting
As the owner of Chandan House Painting, I have devised a comprehensive funding plan to ensure our business is well-capitalized from the start. Here’s how we plan to secure the necessary funds:
1. Personal Savings
Source:
I will be utilizing my personal savings to provide an initial injection of capital into the business.
Rationale:
Control and Ownership: Using my own savings means I retain full control over the business, making strategic decisions without external interference.
No Interest Payments: By leveraging my savings, we avoid the burden of interest payments and debt, allowing us to reinvest profits directly back into the business.
Commitment: Investing personal savings demonstrates my commitment and belief in the success of Chandan House Painting.
Action Steps:
Assess and allocate a portion of my savings specifically for startup costs, ensuring personal financial stability is maintained.
2. Friends and Family Funding
Source:
I plan to raise additional funds through loans or investments from friends and family who believe in my vision and business plan.
Rationale:
Trust and Support: Friends and family are likely to offer financial support due to their trust in me and my business acumen.
Flexible Terms: These loans or investments often come with more flexible and favorable terms compared to traditional financing options.
Low-Cost Financing: Typically, these sources may offer lower interest rates or even interest-free loans, reducing the financial burden on the business.
Action Steps:
Prepare a professional business plan and presentation to clearly communicate the business potential and financial needs to friends and family.
Set clear, formal terms for any loans or investments, including repayment schedules and interest rates, to ensure transparency and maintain good relationships.
3. Small Business Grants and Loans
Source:
We will explore small business grants and loans available through government programs and financial institutions.
Rationale:
Non-Repayable Grants: Grants from government bodies and private organizations do not need to be repaid, providing essential funds without adding to our liabilities.
Favorable Loan Terms: Small business loans often come with favorable terms, including lower interest rates and flexible repayment schedules, making them a viable option for additional financing.
Support Programs: Programs such as the Canada Small Business Financing Program (CSBFP) offer valuable support and resources to startups.
Action Steps:
Research and identify suitable grants and loans specifically tailored for small businesses in Ontario.
Prepare comprehensive business and financial plans to strengthen our grant and loan applications.
Engage with local small business development centers and financial advisors to navigate the application processes effectively.
By combining personal savings, funds from friends and family, and leveraging small business grants and loans, Chandan House Painting will have a robust financial foundation. This diversified funding approach not only ensures that we have the necessary capital to start and run our business but also minimizes financial risks and fosters sustainable growth.

My stand on the Transgender Genocide
For the last week, I've been online, and researched, and warned, and read... All about two topics:
Cat Pictures - I just can't live without them.
Genocide - and about this I should continue writing this post. No more cat pics.
What's a genocide?, you may ask. Well, it is not necessarily systematic murder in camps of specific groups. It is any kind of an attempt to remove a group from society. It can be any kind of group:
Individuals of Species, a Sub-Species, or a Race within the Species
Individuals that carry a specific look, gene, or attribute
Believers of an ideology or religion
Basically, any kind of group. And no, it is not necessarily related to genes.
What's the problem with a genocide, then? If genocide means a removal of a certain group from society, what's the problem? If one honestly asks this question, they probably have been brainwashed at least once. And that's a completely different topic. I'll assume (and believe) genocide is bad for the entirety of the post.
What's the danger for us? For us, trans people - or any person - that is a huge danger. Genocide usually continues to murder, and usually doesn't stay restrained to a single group. The Nazis started with killing trans people, too. It means loss of our rights and our ownings - and later, our lives.
I accidentally deleted this paragraph. Oops. I'll rewrite it the best I can remember. I DELETED IT AGAIN I HATE MYSELF.
That won't happen to me. That's what the Jews thought pre-WW2. People really don't like their bubble being poken - the brain tries to protect itself, by the most valid strategy at the time - complete denial. No offense intended.
But the children! There are two responses to this sentence:
Your children will feel much safer being able to express themselves without crappy ideologies restraining them from doing so.
Children growing up in a place where rights are being taken from a group, will know very well not to join nor declare themselves a part of said group. That's just human survival instinct.
I deleted another paragraph accidentally. I hate myself so much. I'll just shorten it from ten sentences to one.
I'll stay and fight! Your choice. I'm a scared piece of crap, so I won't. Heavily unrecommended.
How can I flee? Here's something I wrote about that in a Reddit comment.
The Jews thought the same thing before WW2. They didn't believe the Nazis would murder them. They didn't want to run. Six million of them were wrong.
Run for your life. Now. Take all your assets. Cash only. Take digital stuff, and papers that prove you own something - but they'll be worth something only AFTER the genocide will end, so make sure you have physical valuable stuff. But the country CAN and WILL revoke your ownings. And not in USD - take it in another currency. You don't want your money not to be accepted because of sanctions, or the value of the money to drop because of a war.
You will want to move all the ownings you weren't able to take with you to the ownership of someone you trust, or to another country's banks (recommending the swiss).
Plan ahead. There'll be lots of refugees. The genocide won't stay restricted to only trans people. You will want to have valuable stuff to pay to people for food and a place to live in the country you'll be in. Secure a place to live.
And most importantly: flee. Tell all LGBTQIA+ people. Especially trans people. And don't say "I'm stealth", the government will seize your medical history and find out. The government will track you online. Don't say "it's illegal", because genocide is illegal, and they'll take any step possible to exterminate us.
Flee from the US. It's not about keeping those who will find out they're trans, and don't know yet - they'll grow up with enough internalized transphobia not to dare to say anything to anybody. It's not about a long term plan. This is about IMMEDIATE SURVIVAL.
Take a loan, to afford the tickets and housing in Europe or Canada or whatever place you wanna go to. It'll be invalidated when the law declares us inferior and non-human, when they'll forbid us from having bank accounts.
I'm NOT crazy. I'm Jewish, and German. My great grandfather was smart enough to run away, before he was murdered. His entire family - dead. This is a reboot of my culture and family's most remembered and important event. This, my friends, will be a holocaust.
They'll systematically murder and exterminate us. No remorse. They won't even see us as human beings. Flee the country. Please. Don't let hell collect another six million people.
And no, Hitler didn't go this far. He just said we're inferior, and should be murdered so "natural" selection will do its job. *They* are trying to finish Hitler's job. The monster that systematically murdered people, Jews, people of color, trans people, gays, intersex people, autistic people, and more and more - still has a legacy. We must run, and we must defend ourselves.
Canada seems like the best option - refugee status - but we know not if a genocide will be the only thing to happen. As far as we know, the USA could start WW3. After all, transphobia and racism commonly come together. If the republicans will win the elections - those who stayed are doomed. If the democrats win - it is only a delay, not a win.
Yeah, it's a bit fanatic. But it's written that way to scare people, make them actually think about it. I'm sorry, but I can't put a "read more" bar on mobile - I'll do it when I reach my PC. Thank you for reading this whole thing - and even if you don't agree, please reply!
