Trial 3 - Kotoko Voicelines (English Translation)
杠琴子。よく、私の前に顔を出せたものね。あまり近づく嚙みつくわよ。 Yuzuriha Kotoko. How brave of you to come here and show your face in front of me. Get too close and I might just bite you. T/N: Kotoko pronounces 私 (watashi) as "watashi" in this voiceline, a neutral way of saying "I/Me/Myself". In the previous trials, she pronounces 私 as "atashi", a feminine way of ascribing oneself. An equivalent in English would be her adding "/fem" tone tag after she says "I/Me/Myself".
私はあなたが許さなかった人間に制裁を加えた。ここで私を見放すというのは、おじけづいた証拠でしょう?罰を加える覚悟もないのなら、人を裁く資格なんてありはしない! I have delivered punishment on those humans whom you did not forgive. If you abandon me now, is that not proof that you've become too afraid to carry out your own verdicts? If you are not prepared to mete out punishment, then you have no right to judge others! T/N: Kotoko actually pronounces 私 (watashi) again as "watashi" in this voiceline, a neutral way of saying "I/Me/Myself". In the previous trials, she pronounces 私 as "atashi", a feminine way of ascribing oneself. An equivalent in English would be her adding "/fem" tone tag after she says "I/Me/Myself".
人が死んだわ? 私を止めてでも、あなたが守りたかったであろう人間が。せめて、私の手で罪を償わせていれば。は… もったいない。 Someone died? Someone you would have wanted to protect, even if it meant stopping me. If only I had at least made them pay for their crimes with my own hands. Hah... What a waste. T/N: Kotoko uses the わ (wa) particle in this voiceline which demarcates her feminine way of speaking. An equivalent to this in English would be adding a "/fem" or "/feminine" tone tag at the end of her sentences.
悲しいでしょう… 苦しいわよね。それが、悪によって大切なものを失う気持ちだ。私を肯定しろ… エス!お前の怒りと悲しみ、私が返してきてやる。 Isn't it saddening... It must be painful, right? The feeling of losing something precious because of evil. Affirm me... Es! I'll return your grief and sorrow. T/N: By "I'll return your grief and sorrow", Kotoko means that she'll return back the grief and sorrow towards whomever or whatever made Es feel that way. Kotoko will return that grief and sorrow for Es' sake in order to help them in some manner (as indicated by the てやる (te yaru)).
まあいいわ。泣いても笑っても、これでおしまい。私たちの決着をつけましょう、エス。 Ah well. Whether you cry, whether you laugh, this is the end. Let's settle this [together], Es.
T/N: Additional Translator's Notes will be found in the replies. Check the original post before reblogging as TLs are occasionally revisited and edited.

How A Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom: 2nd Season (2022)
Plot premise:  Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki Together with his talented aides, the "Realist Hero" Kazuya Souma continues his quest of reinvigorating the Elfrieden Kingdom through administrative reform. Having successfully conquered Van—the capital city of the Principality of Amidonia—Kazuya now faces the envoy from Gran Chaos Empire, who wishes to impose punishment for breaching the ban on war established by the Mankind Declaration Treaty. Despite the dire situation, Kazuya sees a path to avoid unnecessary conflict whilst gaining new allies. With his plan being seemingly perfect, the only barrier to success is gaining approval from the envoy.
Network: Funimation Episodes (and episode length): 13 (23 mins) Creator: Watanabe Takashi (director) Cast: Kobayashi Yuusuke, Minase Inori, Ueda Reina, Hasegawa Ikumi, Ichimichi Mao, Kahara Moe, Okitsu Kazuyuki, Terakawa Aimi IMDB | RottenTomatoes
± As the second season expands into external issues after managing to unite the kingdom, it does finally step into a couple of actually Machiavellian courses of actions and not just ideology. It still remains a smart political story and starts to cover the international relations that a kingdom could develop. It's pretty fun, even though the harem part went a little over the line by basically hypnotizing Souma into revealing his feelings rather than letting the characters talk about it, eep. But i suppose it's at least nice how they all genuinely care in some way.
