#Temperatures are weird

Sometimes I feel like a weirdo because while I like the beach just fine when it's warm outside (not hot, I hate it and it has made my spanish/Italian mom very sad), I actually love it more when it's not. It makes my grandma scared because we're very much on the beach and the sea gets very close but I think it's great (granted we are ready in case it destroys the apartment tho it hasn't happened in like 40 years).

It just feels more lively even if, technically there are a lot less people around (also we can't go swimming because of the pollution 😢 despite it being the best moment to get into the sea)

what if humans are the only species that could live in below zero and above 100 ° weather (Fahrenheit)

id like to think that aliens live in colder weather and they’re body NEEDS the temp only a few degrees around their body temp so whenever they hear about a human living in 90° weather AND that their average body temp is 97-99 they’d freak out, and I think they’d also be surprised that our muscle rapidly contract and relax to keep our body temperature near the 97-98 range when we’re cold

I was on a long car ride with some coworkers from a different department last week and at some point I mentioned my temperature blanket where I knit a row every day to record the temperature for that day. The guy driving was like “oh that’s kinda weird”

Hey y'all! It's weird question time again! I think I might've asked this one before but I can't remember 1. Does high intensity exercise measurably drop your temperature? (as measured by one of those forehead thermometers) 2. Can the "high intensity exercise" be just singing while playing piano? 3. When I tried to tell a doctor I am bad at thermoregulation a while back and he kinda condescendingly said "no, human bodies are very good at that"...like...most people don't go into opossum body temperature range when they try to exercise, right???? You don't get so cold the bones in your hands and feet ache when it's only like low 60s in the house???? edit: my normal temperature is around 98.6 fahrenheit but if my body kicks into "getting too hot better adjust temperature mode" it will easily drop a full degree. The lowest I've gotten was in the 96 degree range, which is in the range for opossum body temperature, and I said "hey I'm opossum temperature!" when I saw the thermometer and it's one of those phrases you cannot unthink so it stuck

You know, I had tried reading The Lef Hand of Darkness before, but the Spanish translation wasn't quite doing it for me. And now I am reading them go through the deep ice while seeing snow fall for the first time ever, and it makes me quite happy to unite both experiences. Reminds me a little bit of reading The Locked Tomb while visiting La Sagrada Familia and Valencia's Art and Science Park and mixing all of those sights together and sth sth. How nice a company a book is, going through new experiences!

The Tree People

Black silhouettes of people I see who stand, sit, climb, and run on trees. They can also be spotted on any far away tall structure.

Pros: they're always there somewhere so I'm never alone, it's like a constant roadtrip since they follow me, it's a fun game to try and find them in the trees (like eye-spy)

Cons: they're always there somewhere, so I'm never alone. It's not that I think they're trying to get me, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they did-- Also, I feel like wherever I am is constantly surrounded by them, lol

The Critters

Things I see moving in the dark. Creatures I can't describe of weird bodily horror and faces that smile. I can't always see them, but I know they're there in my room with me. Sometimes I can feel them breathe on my face.

Pros: friends?

Cons: personal space dawg, scary and makes me need to use the cope scope, not a fun time

The runners

The name is pretty self explanitory. They run down halls, stairs, and fields, basically just to chase me. Usually in the dark, but I can see them during the day, too.

Pros: cardio ig

The Voices

Again, self explanitory, I hear them a lot. People calling my name, screaming at me, crying, yelling, arguing far away, arguing close by, saying hello, conversations.

Pros: One time, one of them said cockadoodledoo right by my ear. That was fun. Makes me feel spiritual sometimes, cause I feel visited by someone when some of these happen.

Cons: scary, can't tell if someone is actually calling me, I want my private time go go :(

Further quilting delayed until the AC gets fixed because I, someone who has a long track record of doing very badly when it gets too hot, forgot I handle heat exceptionally badly I thought I'd been having an allergic reaction on and off for like two weeks now, and was concerned about why benadryl wasn't working well, but the overlap between "beginning stage allergic reactions" and "starting to overheat" for me is like a circle. Good news is the AC is still working downstairs, more or less, so I'll just camp out downstairs until it's fixed. Bad news is all my sewing stuff is upstairs and difficult to move, so that's delayed Also, and I wish I was joking about this: I've been having pretty bad muscle cramps (because of the dehydration from overheating), so I've been using hot water bottles. Like. All the time. That did not help lol
