Ugadi or Yugadi, the festival reserved to celebrate the commencement of New Year, is a day especially celebrated with huge fun and fervor in Deccan regions of India. It is assumed that Lord Brahma, the creator of the world began His creation on this day. The first day of bright half of the lunar month Chaitra is considered to be the day for Ugadi celebration, which generally falls in the months of March - April of the English calendar. The festival of Ugadi also welcomes the spring season when nature seem to be immersed in the festive mood and new leaves and new buds along with fresh breeze of spring manifold the Ugadi spirit.   1. Ugadi -  Andhra Pradesh :  Hevilambi nama samvatsara subhakankshalu !

The day is dedicated to Lord Brahma, the great creator of the world who began creation on this very day. It is also a belief among Hindus that Lord Vishnu incarnated in Matsya avatar on this day. As one of the major festivals of Andhra Pradesh, it gathers huge attention of public as well as the media. Celebration includes cleaning of house and surrounding, decorating entrances with green mango leaves, buying new clothes for family and various other rituals. They wake up early morning and use Sesame oil to massage their head and body, post which they take head wash and visit temples to offer their prayers. People make delicious dishes on this day which they share with their loved ones. Some places like Telangana celebrate the festival for three days. 

2. Ugadi - KARNATAKA STATE :  Ugadi Habbada Shubhashayagalu !

The day marks the beginning of the New Year and is considered to bring new hopes and happiness in life. At this auspicious occasion of commencement of spring, people make garlands of sweet scented Jasmine and offer them to God. They visit temples and offer prayers with sincerity while priests chant various mantras, developing spiritual aroma in surroundings. People whitewash their homes and decorate them with fresh mango leaves and flowers and they also practice the ritual of placing Kalasha beside their doors with coconut leave on it. For peace and harmony of their homes, they sprinkle cow dung water in front of their homes and make attractive Rangolis. Delicious dishes including Ugadi Pachchadi, Puliogure and Holidge are prepared for this occasion. At many places Bhakti songs and Kavi Sammelan are also held to give a platform to new blood so that they can reflect their literature and culture. 

3. Gudi Padwa - MAHARASHTRA STATE  :  Nutan Varshachya Hardik Shubheccha !

 Ugadi is famous as Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra, where it is believed that new ventures started on this day or purchases made give fruitful results. In Maharashtra, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is remembered on this day, so the day is seen as one depicting valiant Marathas who return home after a glorious victory in war. They raise swastika marked metal pot tied with a silk cloth which exhibits their victory and joy after successful expeditions in war. On this day, after washing and cleaning their home, people decorate it with fresh green mango leaves and rangolis. They visit temples to offer prayers and distribute bitter Neem leaves as Prasad.

4. Cheti Chand -  SINDHIS :  Cheti Chand Ki Hardhik Subhechcha !

The day is known as 'Cheti Chand' among Sindhi people and it is seen as the birthday of Water God, (Varun devta) Sai Uderolal or Jhulelal. He is considered to appear on material earth to protect Sindhis from dictatorship of a ruler and saved Sindhi culture and Hinduism. The day is celebrated by worshipping water gods - Lord Jhulelal and Behrano Sahib; Chej, the folk dance of Sindhis is also performed on this day. 

5. SAJIBU CHEIRAOBA - MANIPUR :   Sajibu nongma panba greetings !

 Manipur knows Ugadi by 'Sajibu Cheiraoba', where 'Sajibu' refers to first of all the six seasons that make a year and 'Cheiraoba' means end of a year leading to beginning of another. Hence, the spirit and motive behind the celebration is same in Manipur as in other states, only the way of celebration and the name of festival differ. On the day of Sajibu Cheiraoba, Manipuri people start rituals very early in the morning. Women of the house prepare Athelpot with the help of fine whole rice, raw vegetables, flowers and fruits of new season which is meant for offering to Lainingthou Sanamahi and Leimarel Ima Sidabi placed on southwest and middle north corner of the house respectively. Post prayers, food is cooked and offered to God spirits Hanu-Kokchao and Hanu Leikham with a prayer to protect the well-being of their house. At the fire place, Emoinu Ima is offered food in round-cut plantain leaves to defend the family from sorrows in the coming year. After rituals and prayers, whole family dines together, while married people visit their parents; this way the festival serves in strengthening the bonds in family.

Story Behind the song: 

This song was written on 8th June, 2016. In the year 2016, we had a national conference hosted at Hyderabad. While we were leading worship with a malayalam song called Yeshuve Nadha written by Jubin Kurian in the year 2006, we saw a fresh revival in our spirits. 

 After the conference, Nonita, one of our dear sisters approached our writer John Vittney to translate the song to telugu. He prayerfully created a whatsapp group with malayalis and telugu speaking folks to start the translation. But as we were in the process to traslate, Holy Spirit God whispered these four words "Bandhinaipoya Nelo Munigi Telaka" to the writer. These words were never used by any of us in the team. 

The same day, writer updated his whatsapp status with these 4 words "Bandhinaipoya Nelo Munigi Telaka". To his surprise, he saw 30-40 of his friends changing their status to these 4 words on the same day! We took this as a confirmation to God's whisper and continued writing the song differently, keeping the essence of thanksgiving in the song. We started writing the song giving thanks to God for He has filled us with the Fire, the Power and the Living Waters. Finally this song in Telugu has turned out to be a Thanksgiving Song instead of a prayer song. 

As we started singing the song in various churches, people were able to connect with each and every line of the song. We received hundreds of testimonies on how the song touched thier hearts and connected them with thier First Love - Jesus 

 As an act of courtesy, we called up the original malayalam writer Jubin Kurian on 7th March, 2017 to tell about how God has been using this song to touch many lives. Also we shared our interest in Producing the song in Telugu with all due permissions from him. Also we shared the brand new version of the lyrics. Jubin Kurian happily agreed to the idea and encouraged us to go ahead. Two weeks before finalising the song structure and journey, we were inspired to have a bridge for the song. One mid-night, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit God, writer started worshipping and God gave the bridge as a declaration. This is the best part of the song we believe.

Since then, as we were praying for the right people to produce music for this song, supernaturally God connected us to Jonathan Wesley. He is a Grammy Award Nominee. He gave us the sound which is in par with the international standards. 

 God pre-ordained certain people from Industry to help us in video making and editing. We shot the video using Red Camera which we never ever dreamt of.

Financially it was really very hard for us, But God was faithful in providing everything on time. God started this song, He himself intervened and finshed it in HIS TIME and in HIS STYLE!  To God be the Glory and Honor!

The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah played the lead roles. The film follows Shivudu, an adventurous young man who helps his love Avanthika rescue Devasena, the former queen of Mahishmati who is now a prisoner under the tyrannical rule of king Bhallaladeva. The film was made on a budget of ₹180 crore which makes it the most expensive Indian film at the time of release. The film was released worldwide on 10 July 2015, garnering critical acclaim and record-breaking box office success. This film then went on to collect worldwide box office gross of ₹650 crore. Prabhas gained a lot of popularity after the Bahubali series. Prabhas is also one of the tallest actor in tollywood

2. Mayabazar

Mayabazar is an Indian epic fantasy film directed by Kadiri Venkata Reddy in the year 1957 . The film was shot in both Telugu and Tamil with the same title, but the cast was different for both the movies .The story is an adapted from the folk tale Sasirekha Parinayam, which is based on the epic Mahabharata. It revolves around the roles of Krishna and Ghatotkacha  as they try to reunite Arjuna's son Abhimanyu, with his love, Balarama's daughter . N. T. Rama Rao ,S. V. Ranga Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao played lead roles in the movie. It was the first mythological film produced by , Vijaya Vauhini Studios. Mayabazar had marked a milestone for Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani. 400 studio workers which includines light men, carpenters, and painters participated in the development of the film. Director Reddy was very conscious with the pre-production and casting phases, which took nearly a year to complete. 3. Arjun Reddy

Arjun Reddy is a Telugu romantic drama film which released in 2017.It was written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. . The film revolves around the life of Arjun Reddy a high-functioning alcoholic surgeon who has anger management problems. Arjun goes on a self-destructive path after the marriage of his girlfriend Preethi Shetty , the film focuses on his downfall and subsequent resurgence. It stars Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead role. The director worked on the script for two years .It took around 4 to 5 years for the film to finally materialise. The film was made on a budget of around ₹40–51.5 million. It was released on 25 August 2017 worldwide. The film was a huge box office success, which collected around ₹510 million all over the world, It also received six nominations at the 65th Filmfare Awards South.

4.Arya 2

Arya 2 is a 2009 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by Sukumar.It is a sequel of 2004 movie Aarya. The story tells how Arya dealt with a love triangle between the three characters, Arya 2 revolves around the friendship between Arya and Ajay, two orphans who met at an orphanage but were raised separately. Arya grows up to become a psychotic who is always ready to sacrifice anything for the sake of his friend Ajay, who becomes a businessman and despises Arya but pretends not to. Due to this Arya undergoes a transformation,then  joins Ajay's software company as an employee, and later he attempts to rescue Geetha after she was kidnapped by her violent family members. 1: Nenokkadine is a Telugu psychological action-thriller film which was released in 2014 .It was written and directed by Sukumar. Nenokkadine revolves around the search by Gautham  for his parents, whom he believes were murdered by three men. Sameera is a journalist, she convinces him that he is an orphan and is hallucinating. When Gautham killed one of the imaginary men for his psychological satisfaction, he realises that the dead man is real and leaves for London to find his roots and the other two men behind his parents' death. The film features Mahesh Babu and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles.  It was Produced on a total budget of ₹700 million. It was released in 10 January 2014 on about 1,500 screens. Grossing over $1.27 million, Nenokkadine became the fourth-highest-grossing Telugu film in history at the United States box office. The film was made with a budget of ₹70 crore. The trailer is somewhat the same as Jon Favreau’s Chef. It is one helluva emotional ride loaded with scrumptious food and not to forget, father-son bonding.

Remake of Jon Favreau’s ‘Chef’

This 2014 movie starring Hollywood biggies, Sofia Vergara, Jon Favreau, Oliver Platt, Scarlett Johansson, John Leguizamo and Robert Downey Jr was loved by all for their amazing acting skills and unique storyline. The story revolves around Chef Carl played by Jon Favreau who quits his job at a renowned restaurant in Los Angeles after rejecting to compromise his creative veracity. As he is trying to figure out what to do, he lands in his hometown – Miami, where to decides to team up with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his friend and his son to start a food truck. Though the food truck, Chef Carl reignites his passion for food. What follows next is a beautiful journey of self-discovery, relationships and more. The movie was loved globally. Coming to the remake, Jon Favreau is quite excited to see how the movie translates to the Indian culture.

The remake rights for this movie was acquired from Favreau’s Fairview Entertainment by Abundantia, founded by Vikram Malhotra, former CEO of the joint venture, Viacom18 Motion Pictures. The Hindi version of this movie will adapt for the Indian taste while preserving the flavour of the original. Raja Krishan, the director of this movie, has gone to a completely new genre shift with Chef after doing a patriotic themed movie – Airlift.

Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Chef stars Saif Ali Khan (Roshan Kalra), Padmapriya Janakiraman (Radha Menon) and Svar Kamble (Ary) in the lead roles. The movie required a lot of preparations as it wanted to show Saif Ali Khan as a professional chef. To ensure the same, Saif underwent extensive training for two months or so to act and look like a chef. Saif Ali Khan believes in getting into the character and hence learnt the culinary skills, took cooking classes and even got trained under a skilled chef from both India and abroad. Raja Krishna Menon who is directing this movie made sure, the Chote Nawab of Bollywood is trained under the experts to under the nuances of basic cooking.

Saif Ali Khan was last seen as a chef in the movie – Salaam Namaste as the head chef. This time too he will be playing the role of a chef but with a twist. When asked to Raja Krishna Menon on why Saif was chosen for this role, he added that he wanted someone who was appealing and Saif perfectly fitted the bill. Saif was excited about this role and agreed to do the movie instantly. The movie also stars, Telugu actor – Padmapriya Janakiraman as the wife of Saif Ali Khan. This beautiful actress is quite a popular face down south as she has acted in a number of films across a number of languages – Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada.

The movie will be set in Rajasthan, Kerala, Punjab and Goa. While the climax was seen will be shot in New York.

The two and fifty-one-minute trailer received a significant and positive response from the audience. The trailer shows a father mending his not so good relationship with his son. This amazing story of their relationship has paved the way to an interesting storyline that is bound to touch your heart. Saif fits perfect for the role as you can see his training under the expert chefs has definitely being paid off. Apart from cooking being the highlight of this movie, there is also Saif and Syar’s camaraderie which looks promising.

The soundtracks of the movie too have received an overwhelming response. The song ‘Tere Mere’ sung by Armaan Malik takes you on an emotional ride, while ‘Banjara’ beautifully captures the actor and his son’s journey across the picturesque locations of South India. Sung by Vishal Dadlani, this song has a folk feel. Then there is also ‘Darmiyaan’ by Raghu Dixit which highlights the essence of love and relationships.

All in all, Chef is one movie you should not miss in October. Slated to release on October 6, 2017, ensure you book your tickets well in advance!
