"The Go-Go happens to be a highly-respected classical art form. It is interpretive dance in a Rock 'N Roll format . . . in bikinis.": "Assault of The Killer Bimbos," a wildly enjoyable Sexploitation "Three-Girl" Comedy falling somewhere between "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" and "Thelma & Louise," two go-go girls, wrongly accused of the murder of their boss, going on the run and taking a truckstop waitress hostage in the process. The women here are lively and really quite harmless when not provoked, stopping on the way to the Mexican border for makeovers and giggly desert frolicking. The plot's also quite sparkling and forward-thinking, the leader of the trio a former Broadway dancer whose career was derailed by refusing the advances of a sleazy producer, the waitress enduring sexual harassment on the job, the doe-eyed naif struggling to find a stable sense of self beyond her sexuality, and the three collectively escaping the lecherous clutches of corrupt police and extremely low societal expectations, their union remaining intact at the closing scene. GO, BABY, GO!

Subspecies (1991) Directed by Ted Nicolaou Cinematography by Vlad Păunescu
This is my favorite Full Moon movie, by far. I love Radu Vladislas' raspy voice, the soundtrack, the atmosphere, and the criminally underutlized red minions. Great stuff. I ended up watching the entire series in a week, though I have quite a few gripes with those and none of them come close to how great the first one is.
There is however one film in the series/universe that I'll be posting Halloween night because it was surprisingly good, and the main actor shares an uncanny resemblance to a certain popular streamer..

SAVAGE ISLAND (1985) Grade: D+
No idea how this movie ended up on my list. But at least I could cross it off. Just a old "B" movie / grind house type film. Will actually be an interesting/average #Netflix movie w higher budget.

Subspecies Ted Nicolaou Romania/USA, 1991 ★★ Watching this, I started to wonder if they shot in Romania because communism was (recently) over and I guess shooting in location was cheaper and all that (after the movie was over I looked and yeah, that was exactly the case). Lovely places and great vistas but looks alone does not a good movie make.
Cool score, though. And when it comes to silly vampire movies, you could do a lot worse than this one.

Subspecies V: Bloodrise Streaming Exclusively on Full Moon and Screambox!
Full Moon’s Subspecies franchise returns with brand new fifth installment Subspecies V: Bloodrise, a glossy, high-quality prequel that’s now streaming exclusively on SCREAMBOX and Full Moon Features!
Subspecies V: Bloodrise follows the descent of Radu (once more played by series regular Anders Hove) from a noble warrior of the Church to a depraved, blood-hungry creature of the night. Stolen by crusaders on the night of his birth from his demon mother and vampire father, Radu grows up with no knowledge of his monstrous bloodline. Trained and exploited by a brotherhood of mystic monks to slay all enemies of the church, fate brings him back one night to his father’s castle, armed with the monster-slaying Sword of Laertes, to destroy the vampire Vladislas and reclaim a holy relic, the Bloodstone.
Filmed in Serbia, in and around historical castles and ruins, and co-starring original series star Denice Duff in a surprising role, this sensual, violent, and operatic exploration of evil marks a stunning return for one of the screen’s most beloved monsters.
“This is a rich, Gothic, visually striking horror movie and I’m thrilled that our fans will have the chance to see it on the big screen, where it belongs!” said Charles Band, Full Moon Features founder and Subspecies V: Bloodrise producer.

The Shrunken City (1998)
My rating: 6/10
Utter bollocks, of course, but in rather a fun way - isn't it odd how 25000 years ago, there was a civilization that spoke fluent English and was really into baroque type interior design?
