Went to Japan Expo today (anime and more convention) and I had so much fun !!! I was with a friend and my stepdad, cosplayed as a male team aqua grunt from pokémon Alpha Sapphire. I really LOVE pokémon teams, and I found out that there was a WHOLE group cosplaying as various pokemon teams. There was 2 Team Galactic, one Team Skull, at least 6 Team Magma (Omega Ruby) and one Team Aqua from the original Sapphire game ! We took pictures together. At the end, my stepdad and I noticed a duo of Team Magma grunts walking in front of us, so my stepdad said loudly "so what did you say, Team Aqua is the best ?" and lf course the two Team Magmas heard us. It was fun. Also, I had my slowpoke plushie with me. It's my only water-type pokemon plushie. I also found two peiple cosplaying APH FRANCE AND APH ENGLAND WOOHOOO !!!
As for merch, as I said, I found EVERYTHING I was looking for and even more ! I was mostly looking for Pokémon stuff (Blaziken/Torchic and Rayquaza), Sonic and Ace Attorney, and I found all of that and even some Hollow Knight stuff !! Here's what I got :
Pokémon
Torchic charm
Rayquaza patch
Rayquaza gba keychain
Ace Attorney
This AMAZING poster (in the process of being straightened)
THIS STICKER. I bought it because it is extrzmly funny but I honrstly don't know what to do woth it lmao
Sonic
Shadow badge. I looove the spiky collar, looks like something Shadow would actually wear.
Hollow Knight
Ghost badge
Hornet badge
ALSO !! I MADE OVER 10 STREEPASS MEETINGS. OVER 10 PEOPLE HAD THEIR 3DS WITH THEM ! I'M SO HAPPY IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I HAD A LEGIT STREEPASS WOOHOO

Okay so the new post about the Fake Online Mob Wife has me wondering what if S/O did wear a uniform or did a closet-cosplay at one point?
Maybe they get their hands on a spare grunt uniform, or maybe they get ballsy enough to borrow their Villian Dearest's uniform for a bit? In the case of the closet cosplay, maybe they use what they have to style a "what-if" admin outfit of their own (since the admins get more freedom).
So, even as a kid playing Dppt, I loved Jupiter's uniform. I still do. It actually heavily influenced my character design (I used to want to be a comic book artist so I technically have a shitload of abandoned OCs). I also like Mars's, but it's a little too overtly femme for me. Saturn's always felt like it was missing something but I'd take those sneakers over heels anyday.
Presumably, they do not go on TikTok and start claiming people are mocking their lived experience as a Villainous Team Leader's s/o. Though, that's a funny thought… “Real Villain Fucker experience is having your boyfriend climb that damn mountain…”
It probably would not be that hard for them to get a grunt uniform, since they most likely do have a bulk around HQ. Just go in, grab one, put it on, and give Cyrus a heart attack when you pop into his office. Saturn would not approve you as hire, he knows for sure. He wants to know where you got that and also to take it off right now because he does not like the idea of him viewing like one of his grunts. The Galactic Leader does hate how it makes his thoughts swirls, though. You do not look bad in it — no, not at all. It appeals entirely to his tastes. He feels so bothered by this.
As for getting his, well, if the cat is already out of the bag, he is probably leaving a uniform at home to change into instead of having to wear a suit out instead. Sneak it out and discover how ill-fitting it is on you (or maybe well fitting it is if you match his height and body type). Cyrus is mildly disappointed and confused as to why you are wearing his uniform. You are not trying to join Team Galactic and usurp him, are you? He asks you to take it off again.
If you style your own commander costume, he presumably walks in to your shared home to see you in it. He blinks a few times in confusion. That is certainly not one of the uniforms commissioned by him or a commander. It resembles the general theme well, but he is distressed by how you got that and why you are wearing it. Are you… pledging your support to his new world? He feels like he is left reeling by all this… You just get to watch Cyrus.exe crash before your eyes as he fails to process all this. In the end, you will be asked where you got the outfit and the explanation of wanting to try out a uniform in the style of his team leaves him bewildered and a little disappointed since he had hoped he could have your support.
(I love Saturn's uniform solely bc of the knowledge that it's meant to look like a Croagunk... He loves his frog. That's cute. I don't think I ever thought about being a villain when I was younger, maybe outside of going, "I'd marry King of Team Plasma N," lol. As an adult now, I'd steal Courtney's ORAS look, though. Also, debating doing this line of thought with the other villains lol)

Thursday Thoughts: Fanfiction Feelings - Reflecting on the Starcruiser
I’ve written here before about how I don’t really like making “five-year vision” kind of statements. But I do have certain scenarios I imagine for my future – experiences I dream of that will let me know I’m doing the right thing, that I’ve “made it” (for lack of a better phrase) as a writer and a storyteller, and that I’m living the kind of life I want for myself.
For example, there’s the scenario of me standing in a crowd in front of a stage, surrounded by people who don’t even know I’m there, but they’re all super excited about the show that’s happening on that stage – a show that I wrote. I’ve lived that scenario a couple times now, and I can’t get enough of it.
But there’s a scenario I’ve been looking forward to even more than that, and I got a little taste of it the other day.
This scenario takes a couple different forms. I imagine myself walking through a convention hall, or sitting at my desk, or scrolling on my phone. And then, in this vision, I see that someone else has made something. I see someone cosplaying as a character I created. Or I find a fanfic written in the world of a story I wrote. And I realize that someone has loved my story so much that it inspired them to the point of creation. That they wanted to stay in this story a little longer, to give their time and energy to it a little longer. That they felt about my story the same way that I have felt about so many amazing stories I’ve loved my whole life.
A recent episode of the podcast “Heroes of the Halcyon” brought five fanfiction writers onto the show – specifically, writers of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser fanfiction. One of them even made a Raithe Kole cosplay! I couldn’t stop smiling while listening to it. These are people who love the Starcruiser so much, even if they’ve never set foot on the ship, that they wanted to continue to explore it through as many angles as they could. They eagerly explained how the multi-track, choose-your-own-adventure nature of this immersive experience makes it fertile ground for self-insert fanfiction and how the many different actors portraying each role presents a “multiverse” of possibilities, especially regarding shipping (meaning relationships, not starships). They also lamented the gaps in their knowledge about characters’ motivations and backstories, and expressed hopes that the powers that be will eventually reveal, for example, the translation of Gaya’s poem in the middle of “Poverty of Love.”
Like I said, I couldn’t stop smiling. But to be honest, my emotions are complicated here. In a way, this is the fulfillment of that vision. I was a writer for the Starcruiser, and that immersive experience has captured the imagination of thousands and inspired its fans to the point of creation. I’ve seen the cosplay and read the fanfics.
But it’s not my story.
Admittedly, I feel a sense of ownership for the Halcyon – for Raithe and Gaya, for Ouanii and Sandro, for Lenka and Sammie and Captain Keevan and Lt. Croy and the Saja and everyone else on that ship. Given how many hours and how much of my brain and my creative energy and my love I gave to the Halcyon, especially to developing and documenting the non-scripted elements of the show, it would be impossible not to. At one point during the project, I explained myself to a friend like this: “Half my brain is like, ‘Oh my gosh, I get to think about where Chewbacca is on the ship!’ And the other half of my brain is like, ‘My god, I have done nothing for the last forty-eight hours but think about where Chewbacca is on the ship!’” It was bananas. I loved it. I love Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, and I’m proud of the work I did with that incredible team to help bring this story to life.
But the fact remains that I do not own this story. I love these characters, but their journey began years before I was brought on board. There are moments and lines I could point to and say, “That’s my phrasing; that’s my idea; that scene is there because I fought for it.” But I haven’t been in “the room where it happens” since last April, and I’m certain that the show has grown and changed beyond my input, as a live production should.
I truly love working with intellectual property and bringing someone else’s story to life. I am not complaining; I could not even begin to express how grateful I am for the experiences I’ve had thanks to the Walt Disney Company. But writing for companies like Disney means I must respect the NDA. I can only speak about my experience there in the broadest terms. I don’t get to decide when to reveal the things that the audience hasn’t yet gotten to see, as much as I would love to share them. I’m ninety-nine percent sure that I’m not allowed to write Galactic Starcruiser fanfiction, and as much as I love delving into the blogs and the vlogs and seeing how people are reacting to this show I loved working on so much, I keep a careful distance from the fandom. I don’t join the Discords or respond to people’s theories on Tumblr. If I comment on someone’s TikTok, I say very little beyond thanking them for making me smile. I’m even feeling a little nervous about that Chewbacca joke I made earlier in this blog post, but since he appears in the commercials, I think I’m okay to mention him!
Writing for the Starcruiser – writing for Disney Live Entertainment at all – was a dream come true, and I am eagerly searching for my next opportunity to do so. But this is not the complete dream. And that’s exciting; it means I have more to strive for. I strive for the day when I can run across that convention hall and say, “Oh my gosh, I love that cosplay,” and know that it was my vision that inspired it. I dream of the day when I can say, “Here’s the behind-the-scenes truth of what was going on in that scene. Here’s what they want; here’s what it means. I’m so glad you wanted to know. I’m so glad you loved my story as much as I do.”
But at least for now I can say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you to everyone who loves the Starcruiser to the point of creation. Thank you for giving your heart and your time to this story I gave so much of myself to. And thank you for giving me a taste of the future I’m striving for.
Ta bu e tay!

Disrupting the Galactic Cosplay Convention
(Image Description: Professor Rowan chews out a pair of Team Galactic Grunts. Text reads "Rowan: Quiet, you lot! Why must you be such a nuisance?")
We've escaped Interpol once again and are on our way out of town only to find the road blocked by two generic spaceman cosplayers harassing the elderly. Rowan gives them a lecture on etiquette before asking Lucas and I to take them on in battle and honestly, I'm a little disappointed. I'd really like to see this old man kick ass in battle. The old man gets what the old man wants however, and Lucas and I quickly dispose of the weirdos without breaking a sweat.
Yet another RANDOM GROWN ASS MAN has apparently been watching from afar and is so impressed he wants me to play dress-up with my pokemon... Uhuh... Welp, I've got time so I pop on over and give Joringel a quick little makeover.
(Image Description: A mustached land form Shaymin on a grassy background with a cloudy blue sky. The piece is titled "Regards")
Isn't he the cutest?
After that it's off to Floaroma town where we meet a lady who truly understands the value of Shaymin. She gives us a Gracidea flower, which means it's finally time to bring our other Shaymin onto the team!
(Image Description: A shiny sky form Shaymin. It has a luxury ball and is level 15)
She's level 15 and only knows Growth and Magical Leaf, but hey, we've got more than two now! I go ahead and teach her Return just in case.
Unfortunately, the Generic Spaceman Convention is in town and won't let me leave, so it's time to head to Valley Windworks and clear 'em out! With our little duo they prove not to be any trouble at all and we dispatch with them quickly.
(Image Description: Charon teases Mars about losing to the player. Text reads "Charon: My, my. Lose to a child, will you?")
Yes. Yes she did.
Looker is waiting for me as I exit the building. With two Shaymin now in my possession I'm starting to worry he's onto me, but after verifying that I did, in fact, scare off the Galactic goons, he congratulates me and runs off to Eterna city. Phew, safe for now!
And with that, I guess it's time to head to Eterna Forest!

Aight Sol we saw ur pokemon chart a while ago, now I wanna hear any hot takes you have on the Pokémon villain teams. And which ones did you feel was most/ least effective (in any regard)?
So this is a topic I have some mixed feelings on and I have ✨takes✨
So for me there are two types of villain teams; criminal teams and nuisance teams. Nuisance teams are what teams have been for the last 3 gens and I don’t think they are terrible. I think, in a way they actually do fit because you can only save the world so many times in these games before it feels old. Plus, it allows for other things to be the threat.
I would say gen 7 and 9 have both done this well in different ways. Team Yell are aesthetically cool and have a funny explanation but are the weakest
As for the criminal teams; the only one I would consider good/compelling is Team Plasma. As pee brain as the question is presented, they least presented well. Plus N and Ghetis are both fantastic. Plus the idea of a team having a civil war over their direction is fascinating.
Here are short and pithy insults towards the other teams not mentioned above
Team Rocket- listen it’s everyone’s first, I’ve even cosplay as a grunt. They’re the vanilla of the teams. There is an actual flavor to it, and there are little subtle intricacies with it(HGSS adding names to the admins and everything with Silver) but nothing great.
Team Aqua/Magma- stupid until salvaged by the remake. The remake at least made some of their goals, at least understandable, in terms of their aims and how they are two sides of the same coin.
Team Galactic- worst criminal team. Utter dog shit.
Team Flare- good idea for a team and could actually be the most vile if not for the aesthetics of the team and mishandling of Lysandre.
Final thing I would say is that, I have an ideas for a GEN six GEN seven mash up and Team Flare does have a role in it, but they are drastically different in terms of how they are run and the type of villain they are, while keeping what made them villainous.
