Still milking academy phase, huh? IS won't touch war phase unless players literally force them through CYL and stuff. Sometimes I wonder if they regret what they did with 3H, or just don't have any attachment to the characters because they let KT do most of the work, and only use them as easy cashgrabs. Also, where is the Lance of Ruin? And the Sword of Moralta? Sword of Seiros? And why is Luin an arcane weapon? Won't people turn into demonic beasts??? Why is Ingrid the only one from Nopes???

I'd say given how IS is allergic to giving the side eye to Supreme Leader, if an unit has a post timeskip design said unit will talk about how sad and shitty war is, thus shit on Supreme Leader (since saying "it's their fault for not dying when I ask them to" can't really work in a game celebrating the franchise).

Since Rearmed Grima the "lore" behind those weapons has been lost to existence, but yeah, it's a really bad move, especially considering how Rhea is in the banner ! As much as I'd have loved a sword version of her with her sword, it just won't happen.

Ultimately I think IS through heroes tries to retrofit/retool the characters KT, uh, developed in Nopes, while still trying to sell alts of course, so they focus on some traits while ignoring others...

Granted, FE16 characters have always been, imo, complicated to write since they should be able to join Tru Piss, Nopes fleshed out the BL more as a result, and I'd say it's no wonder the largely houses banner that comes after Nopes is a BL banner.

I mean, how are you supposed to write academy Leonie now that Nopes exposed she dgaf about villages being pilfered and refugees being hunted by her Supreme Allies ? Or won't give a fuck about attacking neutral third parties because her house Leader/king is completely stupid ?

for each game:

fe13 - frederick, when i finished pairing up everyone else he was the only dude left that i didn’t feel totally neutral/negatively about. then he grew on me & is a perfect father for morgan imo so it all worked out in the end, i like f!robin/fred as a character thing too. they’ve got a fun dynamic.

i’ve started a LOT of awakening runs over the years so he’s the only one i’ll mention since he was the first

fe14 - uhhhh shura for my conquest run? in general i kinda pick a vaguely interesting dude at random when i can’t marry ladies, he was neat & a corrin-sexual so it worked out for 2nd gen purposes too. revelations was my eternal wife charlotte (as f!corrin too!!) of course, by far my most fulfilling marriage. she deserves it

fe16 - manuela in golden deer, seteth in black eagles (silver snow route obv). marrying the students is never in a million years gonna jive with me (tbh i think i’m literally incapable of looking at them with romantic intent) + i would’ve chosen these two anyway, manuela for self-insert purposes and catherine & shamir are already married & byleth’s no homewrecker. seteth bc i ended up liking him an unexpected amount

Veteran – Which FE games have you played and what was your favorite?

as of now i’ve completed: genealogy, thracia 776, binding blade, blazing blade, sacred stones, awakening, fates (conquest + most of revelations), shadows of valentia, & three houses (golden deer + black eagles, both crimson flower & silver snow routes)! currently playing: heroes, for some unfathomable reason

the current fave right now… is thracia, to all of 0 people’s surprise. it’s not a perfect game by any means but i had loads of fun playing it thanks to the map design diversity, wide array of gimmicks/mechanics (for better or for worse), the story was engaging & had a good course and i found the cast very likable despite the small amount of screentime they get. jugdral’s worldbuilding is fascinating & thracia kept up the usage of interesting lore without getting too overwhelming or large-scale like genealogy. possibly unpopular opinion: most of the series’ protagonists don’t have very interesting arcs, which is fine, but leif has good character growth over the course of the war. i dunno, i just find it to be a very tight, well-constructed (for the most part) game & interesting experience overall, with the bonus of good pixel art. i’m definitely going to end up replaying it eventually, which can’t be said for every entry in the series
