Hello! So this was originally going to be an ask but it spiraled out of my control and it got too long so here we are :D I hope you enjoy my ramblings. Also I'm not a writer so I'm sorry if I sometimes don't make sense (⁠•⁠ ⁠▽⁠ ⁠•⁠;⁠)

Your legends reborn AU has given me brain worms and ideas and I would like to share them if you don't mind! :D

It's mostly about Zero.

So, in one of your posts you said that you view the guardians' animalistic traits as a sign of freedom and that got me thinking about Zero.

I'm not 100% sure on how you interpret him, or how you want him to be in the au but from what I've gathered you like to see him as a Creature™ and it's how i view him too most times!

I love your head cannon that Zero can go on all fours because was not only made to be the ultimate weapon but also the ultimate predator (or hunter I don't remember the exact word you used)

So I was thinking that in your legends reborn au, since it's a time of peace and he is not a war machine anymore, he's (mostly) not a weapon anymore! :D

So, his predator/ hunter side is more present which makes his animalistic traits more prominent then the guardians. He can run on all fours, has paws :3, I like imagining him using his hair/mane as a bed or a blanket, and maybe give him some wings to reflect the absolute armor and the mother elf a little since she was based on him. (I still think he wears armor though)

I just want them to represent how free he is in the new world. I see the world of megaman legends as being very freeing for a being like Zero.

I think he has always lived in very restricting conditions. As I said before this man is a Creature™ and I don't think Wily ever intended for him to be a social one or to live in crowded places like a city (cuz he was supposed to Destroy those). I imagine living in the hunters HQ with so many reploids never felt quite right to him.

And Sure he could act like other reploids and mostly blend in but his mind was still so different he had to work extra hard to fit in. (Basically he's had to mask so hard for most of his life)

I think the only time he felt most like he was in his natural habitat was in the Zero games when he was mindlessly destroying thousands of enemies in large spaces to achieve a goal, and mostly not talking to people. It was still not very fun for him though, since missing most of his memories, and missing people he did not remember did not feel nice.

Then he wakes up in a world where there is no war, no virus, no mavericks, no great or good he needed to die for. Only (relative) peace and a strange new body that needed to sleep and eat.

His body is hard to get used to. The prospect of hunting is not new to him, but eating definitely is, and sleeping is just as hard. Getting used to it is challenging enough that it distracts him from thinking about his situation too hard at first.

After a while, it starts to hit him that he doesn't have a purpose. He had always had something he had to do, something or someone to fight for. But now there was no one and the peace he and his loved ones had fought so hard for was achieved. Now his only purpose was to keep himself alive and help some of the people he finds in trouble, because what else does he do?

This makes him feel empty at first but then it's starts to feel so natural. To just exist, to hunt and help people he finds along the way, to learn about this new world and finally live.

He had never really lived before, not like this, his life was always dominated by being a weapon first. And later, accidentally adopting someone will really make him feel like he's alive.

He still misses X, Axl and many others terribly, but he tries to keep himself busy

Aaaa anyway, what I wanted to get at is that he's finally truly free. Like X is. And I like to portray that as him being able to be more wild.

Hi, it's me, the pollrunner. I'm tired. Like, sleepy tired. Half of tomorrow's polls are written. I'm gonna try to scrape up the energy to get the other half drafted, but I need to go to bed at a reasonable time. On the plus side, the semesters almost over! I graduate in like. Two and a half weeks!!! And after this and Redemption Round Two, the rounds get significantly smaller, so they should be much easier for me to write and schedule and all also I won't have to keep copying and pasting every single link

I will absolutely get on my Bearable soapbox

-i would actually say its primary function is as a symptom tracker app, but mood is absolutely one of the other main things it's designed for

-it is fully customizable. You can select from preset symptoms or add your own, and they can be grouped into preset categories or custom ones (I use physical, mental, and digestive, preset categories also include acute illness, reproductive health, and other)

--all symptoms are trackable with given levels (none, mild, moderate, severe, and unbearable) and can be configured to be one score for a whole day or split into 6-hour time blocks (time blocks/whole day applies to all symptoms, but it is easy to set all four blocks in one go)

--easy single button to set any unfilled blocks to none!

--Bleeding is a preset under reproductive health; for added privacy you can change this to a different name or move it to a different category to obscure its meaning ro others

-other trackable categories include mood, energy, sleep (importable from select devices), food/water, meds/supplements, factors, bowl movements, custom ratings, health measurements, gratitude, and extra notes

--these general categories are not customizable in terms of adding new ones, but custom ratings is there as a general purpose other

-you can also track menstruation as a yes/no check box under the Other Factors category. You can also create a custome named option. The paid version recently added scales (similar to symptom scales) for custom factors, but the yes/no option is still available for free users. Some factors are automatically scales, but I promise this is a logical decision which ones that change applied to.

-custom goals! This is where I put my reminder to floss my teeth and genuinely just having that be there for the first few months of building that habit helped so much.

-as a symptom tracker, it has insights! This tab is of course limited in the free version (and I don't spend much time playing around in there) things like general overview, trends, prevalence of symptoms, and factor count are available here, but the ability to highlight a factor (easily) to see how it may have impacted you is a premium-only feature. (There is a way to highlight one factor at a time in calendar view)

Overall not only is it great if you have any sort of chronic pain/illness, it is a great option for discreetly tracking your period. It won't give you notifications that it's coming up like other more dedicated apps would, but if you just need a place to keep the information that's convenient, it is perfect for that!

I'm seeing some talk of people deleting period tracking apps and I imagine that's tough to do, so I wanted to put a suggestion out there -- Bearable is an app meant for tracking mood, but with Premium, which is $35/year, you can add custom metrics and track them several ways. I know at least one person who uses it for reproductive health tracking, and you can name the custom metrics whatever you want. Some of mine are "meds" for when I've taken certain weekly medication and "social pos" for when I feel I've had a positive social interaction. The free version isn't as customizable but I still think it may be of use.

Bearable can be passcode locked and has very fast and simple export and delete data functions. And because it's designed for people struggling with mental health, it has a specific commitment not to sell your data. They encrypt your data automatically and deliberately don't even ask your age, gender, name, etc. I use it for mood, anxiety, and pain tracking, and I really like it.

i need to introduce more Fun Fantasy Books Actually Meant For Adults into my literature ecosystem, all i’ve read in the last like three years is discworld and legal textbooks/treatises and it is doing WEIRD things to my brain. & my discord friends have some good solid novel recs, but they’re 90% nonfiction/realism Issue Books about characters dealing with Serious Societal Problems… and i am like perpetually burnt out on Serious Societal Problems these days courtesy of the legal textbooks and treatises so i just find those works exhausting

i should probably pick up dn bryn’s new thing, i read their mermaid book that came out like 3-4 years ago and it was very nice, but like apart from that one author i just have no clue where to start

anybody got any decent suggestions? especially for secondary world SFF the genre love of my life, since my only functional familiarity with that genre For Adults is shit written by dudebros in the 80s who don’t understand paragraph breaks and who were probably jerking off to it, and that is not my jam these days

Extremely rough first stab at the Taz Vs. Dracula lineup bc I love them all so so much already and don’t have the time to finish a lineup of characters for fun rn 🥲

Travis’ characters are always the hardest for me to design idk why, but I made him very western inspired with some vampire hunting flair. Lady Agatha Thistle’s breed was one I hadn’t heard of before but I love a good blood hound. I always end up making Travis’s chapters warm toned, they’re all very red/orange coded to me. (Beef would be the exception I think he’s very pink and blue in my mind)

Clint always makes the sweetest roundest characters I love designing his. I wish we had a cannon spelling because there’s so many directions you can go with “Filo” also his characters are usually green or green adjacent to me. I cant wait to see him bust out more booger potions

Justin never misses with a character and I cling onto every single one he makes so quickly and violently it’s getting embarrassing. I like the idea that she would still dress extremely fancy and posh even tho her new body should be in some battle ready armor. Also I made her blue since she is a Frankenstein’s monster and most likely wouldn’t have the blood flow to have a human color. Plus I love the monster high color palettes so I’m referencing a little bit. Justin has very cool coded characters to me, lots of blue and purple and forest greens.

Probably not sticking with this Dracula design but I want him to love a bit more silly and slick, I think having him be lanky and shorter will pair him very well against our rough and rowdy boys
