authors note: i loved writing this so much! my initial idea was to write something inspired one taylor's song, but i ended up doing something completely different. anyway, this is probably my favorite story.

Charles Leclerc had just begun his career in formula 1, driving for Alfa Romeo. He had always dreamed of racing for Ferrari, but he knew he had to work hard and prove himself on the track first. That's when he met Y/N, a new driver who had just joined in the grid.

Y/N was determined to make a name for herself in the world of racing. She had a natural talent behind the wheel, and Charles was immediately drawn to her. As they got to know each other, they realized they had a lot in common - their love for the sport, their drive to succeed, and their dream of racing for a top team in formula 1.

One day, Charles and Y/N were talking in the paddock before a race, when Charles couldn't help but express his desire to drive for Ferrari. "I know I still have a lot to prove, but racing for Ferrari has always been my dream. I want to be the one to bring them back to the top." he said.

Y/N nodded in understanding. "I know how you feel. It's my dream too. But we have to focus on the present and do our best now. The future will come in due time." she said.

Charles smiled, feeling grateful for her support. "You're right. I need to focus on Alfa Romeo and trust that my hard work will pay off in the end."

As the season went on, Charles and Y/N continued to impress on the track. Their rivalry became friendly competition and they pushed each other to be better drivers. They also grew closer off the track, spending time together during their downtime.

One day, after a particularly grueling race, Charles and Y/N found themselves alone in the paddock. The adrenaline was still pumping through their veins as they talked about the race. And then, in a moment of courage, Charles leaned in and kissed Y/N.

They both pulled away, looking at each other with surprise and uncertainty. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that." Charles said, feeling embarrassed.

But Y/N placed a hand on his arm. "It's okay. I felt it too." she said, smiling.

Charles felt a rush of relief and excitement at her words. He had never felt a connection like this before, and he couldn't deny the attraction he felt towards her. "Really?" he asked, unable to hide the hope in his voice.

Y/N nodded. "Yeah. But we should probably keep it between us for now." she said, looking at him seriously.

Charles knew she was right. They were both young and starting out in the competitive world of music and fashion. They couldn't afford any distractions or controversies that could affect their chances of making it big in their respective industries. "You're right. We need to keep this between us for now." he said, understanding the importance of privacy.

Y/N smiled, relieved that he felt the same way. "Exactly. We don't want any unnecessary drama or attention." she said, nodding in agreement.

They spent the rest of the night talking and getting to know each other better. Charles found that he was drawn to Y/N's intelligence, wit, and determination. She had a passion for racing that matched his own, and he admired her drive to succeed in a male-dominated sport.

Over the next few weeks, they continued to work hard on their careers while also finding time to spend together. They continued to keep their relationship private, they found comfort in the small moments they shared together - stolen kisses in the garage, secret dates in exotic locations, and late-night phone calls just to hear each other's voices. Charles felt like he had found his soulmate in Y/N, and he couldn't imagine his life without her.

But their relationship was not without its challenges. As they gained more attention in the racing world, they faced scrutiny from the media and their teams. Rumors began to circulate about their relationship, and some people even questioned whether they could handle the pressures of racing while also being in a romantic relationship.

Charles and Y/N tried to ignore the rumors and focus on their work, but it wasn't easy. They both felt the pressure of trying to prove themselves as drivers while also trying to maintain a healthy relationship. With the constant traveling and racing schedules, they often struggled to find time for each other. And as their careers continued to skyrocket, the pressure to maintain their privacy only grew stronger. It was a balancing act that required patience, communication, and trust.

Despite these challenges, Charles and Y/N continued to support each other and chase their dreams. And in the end, their hard work paid off. Charles was offered a contract with Ferrari, and Y/N was signed to a top team as well.

As they stood on the podium, holding their trophies and basking in the glory of their success, Charles leaned over and whispered in Y/N's ear, "I couldn't have done this without you."

Y/N smiled, feeling her heart swell with love for the man standing beside her. "And I couldn't have done it without you." she replied, knowing that their love had helped them both achieve their dreams.

As they walked off the podium, arm in arm, the cameras flashed and the media buzzed with rumors about the nature of their relationship. Speculation had been building for months about whether Charles and Y/N were more than just teammates, and their display of affection on the podium only fueled the fire.

The next day, headlines across the sports world read "Are Charles Leclerc and Y/N Y/L/N more than just friends?" and "Romance on the track: Leclerc and Y/L/N's relationship heats up." Fans and commentators alike weighed in, with some speculating that their relationship could hurt their performance on the track, while others cheered them on, hoping to see their love blossom even further.

Charles and Y/N tried to brush off the rumors, focusing instead on their upcoming races and training sessions. But as they spent more and more time together, both on and off the track, it became harder to keep their feelings hidden from the public eye.

The media frenzy that followed was intense, but Charles and Y/N stood strong, supporting each other through every step of the way. And as they continued to win races and make history on the track, their love only grew stronger, proving that nothing could stand in the way of their passion for each other and their shared love of racing.

The anticipation was palpable as the engines came to life, ready to face the winding curves and high-speed straights of the race track. The fans packed the stands, waving flags and cheering for their favorite drivers. Among them were Charles Leclerc and Y/N, two rising stars in the world of motorsport.

As they made their way to their cars, their eyes met and they exchanged a small smile. They both knew the stakes were high, and that this race could make or break their season. But they were determined to give it their all, pushing themselves and their machines to the limit.

With a final wave to the crowd, they donned their helmets and revved their engines, ready to take on the challenge ahead. The starting lights blinked to life, and the race was on.

As the checkered flag waved and the roar of the crowd filled the air, commentators couldn't help but marvel at the incredible performance of Charles Leclerc and Y/N, who had once again shown their skill and dedication on the track.

"Leclerc and Y/N are an unstoppable duo!" one commentator exclaimed. "They work so well together, it's like they can read each other's minds out there on the track."

"And just look at their teamwork in action," another commentator chimed in as they watched a replay of a particularly impressive pass. "It's clear that they have a special connection both on and off the track."

As they stood on the podium, champagne spraying and crowds cheering, Charles couldn't contain his emotions any longer. Grabbing Y/N by the waist, he lifted her up and kissed her passionately, the cameras capturing the moment for all the world to see.

"Wow, what a moment!" a commentator exclaimed. "Charles Leclerc and Y/N Y/L/N, not just a winning team, but a winning couple!"

"And what a way to celebrate a victory," another added. "I don't think anyone will forget this podium celebration anytime soon."

Amidst the excitement and the noise, Charles and Y/N shared a quiet moment, gazing into each other's eyes and knowing that they were meant to be together, both on and off the track.

Y/N spoke to the journalists first, her heart still racing from the surprise kiss on the podium. "I'm thrilled with the result today." she said, trying to keep her composure. "Charles and I make a great team, and I'm so proud of what we've achieved together."

The journalists couldn't help but ask about the kiss, and Y/N couldn't help but blush. "Well, I guess you could say that was a spontaneous celebration of our win." she said, trying to play it cool.

Charles joined them shortly after, still grinning from ear to ear. "I couldn't resist kissing the most beautiful and talented driver on the grid." he said, earning a round of laughter from the journalists.

"You're incorrigible." Y/N teased, playfully pushing him.

"I know, but you love it." Charles said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

As they walked away from the press, Y/N couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement and happiness. She and Charles had decided to take their relationship public, and the response had been overwhelmingly positive. They were both fiercely committed to their careers, but they also knew that they wanted to be together, no matter what the future held.

Charles leaned in for another kiss, and Y/N melted into his arms. And as they continued to win races and make history on the track, their love only grew stronger, proving that nothing could stand in the way of their passion for each other and their shared love of racing.

I have a bit of an odd question for you tonight, and that is --

Have you thought about Little You lately? About the little person you were years ago when you were younger? Little You could be a kid, or a teenager, or really anyone you were before today. Do you know how much Little You loves you? Do you know how proud they are of you for getting this far? Even if you're not in the place you want to be, that younger you is so grateful you're still here, and you're still trying. Little You loves you more than anyone else on this planet-- even if you didn't love yourself when you were them. They are still rooting for you every single day. Little You can see how far you've come, and Little You forgives you for all the things you hold against yourself. Remember to give your Little You a hug sometime, they're always here for you if you need them. Sometimes Little You's need the you you are now to help them heal the places they were in at the time--sometimes you're not ready for that, and that's totally okay too. One day you will be, and Little You will still be there, still loving you, and still rooting for you, and you can give them love right back when you're ready. You are wonderful, and unique, and beautiful, and brilliant and always have been lovelies---when you were Little You, and how you are today.

Even if your brain tells you otherwise sometimes-- You are so very loved, and you always have that Little You in your court if you need them. Feel free to exchange hugs with them whenever you need it, they're always there. I'm thinking of you lovelies, take care of yourselves and get some rest -- tomorrow is a new day.

Beaumont Estate

“Good morning, Auntie Bethany.” Sophie sing-songed as she entered the huge country kitchen of the Beaumont estate. 

“Morning, sweetheart, you are up early this morning.” 

Sophie nodded, kissing her aunt’s cheek. “Breakfast smells so good! What are we having today?” 

Maxwell smiled, already seated at the table, “my favorite...blueberry pancakes with maple syrup and bacon.” 

"mmmm...sounds good!" After pouring herself a cup of coffee, Sophie took a seat at the table across from her cousin as the waitstaff began to set down breakfast plates of food. 

“So, Sophie, tell me what happened yesterday? Maxwell mentioned that you found a horse.”  

“Yes, I did!” Sophie was beaming. “Oh Auntie, she is beautiful! Her name is Marabelle, and she is a retired Derby winner. She is black with white socks and has a star on her forehead.” 

“That’s so exciting, my dear! Maxwell tells me that she will be arriving this morning with the other horses that Bertrand bought yesterday.” 

“Drake and Melanie should be arriving very soon. I think I will get changed now to get ready to go help.” Maxwell finished his coffee and stood up. 

“Are you coming out to see the horses, Mom? "

“Oh, definitely, but I’ll let the horses be settled first, though. I don’t want to get in the way.” 

“Sophie, I will see you outside.” Maxwell grabbed one more piece of bacon and winked at his cousin. “I know Sophie won’t wait!” 

Sophie giggled at his comment. “Try and stop me, Max.” 

Bethany paused and looked at her niece, noticing the look of happiness and sparkle in her eyes.  

Unbeknownst to Sophie, Maxwell had already mentioned to his mother that it was Prince Liam who had arranged for Sophie to ride Marabelle for the first time.

“What’s that look for?” Sophie asked her aunt, noticing her grin.

“I am delighted that the boys found the horse for you so quickly. And, I hear that a certain ‘gentleman’ also had a hand in the find?” 

Sophie blushed furiously, “Yes, well, actually...” 

She hesitated, then blurted out, “It was Prince Liam.” 

Bethany looked pleased and patted her niece’s hand, “Well, that’s certainly a nice surprise. Prince Liam must think very highly of your riding skills to suggest a prize winning champion for you.” 

"I was thinking of thanking him with a small gift. I could present it to him the night of the Bash."

"That's a lovely idea, my dear."

"Auntie Bethany, for the Beaumont Bash this weekend, I am not sure what I should wear. Talking to Bertrand, he says to wear a formal ballgown. When I asked Max, he said to wear a party dress. 

What do you suggest?" 

"First of all, you will look lovely in anything you choose. Second, if I had to choose between the two dresses, I would choose the party dress. It looks more modern than the traditional ball gown." 

"Max invited the princes, shouldn't I dress more formal?"

Bethany chuckled, "No dear, I am pretty certain that the princes would prefer a more casual evening. I tell you what. Tomorrow, I am taking you up to the Capital to find your dress. We can pick up a gift for Liam as well."

‘...I may not know it 

    But these are the moments, that

It was an hour past sunrise, as Drake maneuvered the long horse trailer into the driveway and then through the side gate of the Beaumont Estate grounds. Stopping alongside the horse stables, he texted Maxwell to come out and unlock the doors for the new arrivals. 

Unhitching the trailer door, Melanie stepped up into the long horse trailer and entered the main compartment. Upon seeing Melanie, many of the horses started to whinny. 

“It’s all right, this is your new home,” she spoke soothingly as she walked down the row of horses. Melanie loved talking to animals, especially the horses; she understood that they were social creatures and could display a wide range of emotions. They were definitely anxious, at the moment. 

“Good morning, Mel,” Maxwell, wearing casual jeans, jacket and boots, called into the trailer as Drake followed in after him. 

“Beaumont, there you are; I just messaged you.” Drake tapped his shoulder and began to also prepare the horses for their transfer to the stables. 

“Morning, Max,” Melanie called back, the horses nickering softly. 

“My two stable hands are ready for them.” Maxwell stated and started to help Drake. 

“Perfect Max, thank you.” 

The stable hands entered the trailer and began untying the horses from the railings. They led each horse inside the stable and settled them into their individual stalls.

The Tavern Beer Garden, Capital 

Later into the evening, Bastien had positioned two royal guardsmen discreetly inside the beer garden, well before Leo and Liam were set to arrive. 

Drake and Rashad, already sitting at a table, watched as a black SUV rolled to a stop at the entrance of the beer garden. As Leo and Liam stepped out of the vehicle, Bastien approached them, “Your Highnesses, please follow me.” 

Leo didn’t waste any time in ordering a double scotch as soon as he sat down at the table. Liam greeted Rashad with a handshake, while Drake slid a cold beer over to Liam’s seat. 

“Why so wound up, Rys?” Drake looked over and questioned Leo with a smirk.   

Can you say M..M..Maddy?” 

Leo scowled back, clearly annoyed at his comment, answered, “Don’t go there, Walker.” 

The less time Leo had to think about Madeleine the better. Since she is betrothed to Leo, and rumors were circulating that King Constantine was planning to relinquish the throne sooner than expected, Madeleine had become unbearably obnoxious. She felt that she was more than ready to assume the role of Queen now and made a point of reminding anyone and everyone in the Kingdom that would listen to her.

Liam shook his head, knowing that his brother was agitated, and rightly so. His father’s announcement to his sons last week that he was gravely ill was a shock. News of his potential early abdication explosive. The tension of having to face an arranged marriage for Leo, palpable. 

“So, Liam, will you be attending the Beaumont Bash this weekend?” Rashad asked, trying to change the direction of where this conversation was going. 

Leo glanced at his friend, silently thanking him for correctly reading the room. 

“Yes, let’s see what Bertrand and Max have planned for this year,” Liam confirmed. 

Both Princes Leo and Liam were expected to attend, since King Constantine and Queen Regina were stepping back from some royal duties, letting the princes represent the monarchy.

 “I am assuming that you will be attending this year? I know that your father has asked Regina for assistance in finding you a marriage match.” Liam questioned grinning. 

Sighing, Rashad nodded yes. His parents were adament that he take a partner this season. “I hear that there are several new faces joining the social season this year. Anyone interesting?”  

Smiling knowingly, Drake joined the conversation, “one of the young ladies caught Liam’s attention yesterday. Isn’t that right Li?” 

Liam’s smile was huge, as he remembered his day with Sophie on the trail at the polo club and horse ranch, when she asked...

'I bet you’re used to putting everyone else first.'

'And why would you say that?'

From the short time that they had talked earlier, she already had an accurate insight of him. She asked about his thoughts and feelings, showing a genuine interest. They were having a heartfelt and sincere conversation. She had just met him! 

Gathering his thoughts into words, he began... 

“I have never in my life met anyone like her. We connected on so many different levels.  She is incredibly sweet, interesting funny, and had a great sense of humor. I could talk to her for hours. ‘I haven’t laughed like this in a long time.’” 

Rashad chuckled, “well, that answered my question.” 

Liam nodded, looking delighted, continued. “Sophie was more concerned about why the horse she was riding was startled that morning at the ranch, than about herself; she was fearless. 

...and when she found out about me being a prince, it didn’t change anything for her. 

‘No one’s ever seen me as just...me. No one’s ever listened to me the way she did.’ 

She brings a new, fresh and exciting perspective to everything.

…and her eyes, I could stare into those beautiful blue eyes forever! She is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out.” 

As Leo listened and watched his brother speak, he remained silent. He mentally erased his current thoughts and ordered another drink.

Beaumont Stables 

Drake and Melanie had already left to drive the trailer back to the horse ranch.

Maxwell was speaking to the stable hands when Sophie entered the stable to see Marabelle. 

"Hi guys, good morning," Sophie greeted.

"There she is, ready to ride Marabelle?" Maxwell smiled.

"Yes, yes," Sophie exclaimed, excitedly.

The stablehands led Sophie into the stall where Marabelle was standing.

"Hey girl! Come here," Sophie cooed as she stroked Marabelle's neck.

Marabelle nickered happily in return, nuzzling her cheek.

"Come on then, let's get you saddled up. We're riding today."

Sophie rode Marabelle down to the winding stream, that was adjacent to the vineyard of the estate.

Memories flooded back of her time with Liam.

'We walked together hoping forever, please don't let go of my hand,

It’s the first day of the holiday break, and JT was adamant that the only item on his agenda was to do absolutely nothing before family arrives tomorrow. So, when you wake up before him to find him still asleep, you take a moment to admire the softness of his features, the dip of his nose, the fullness of his lips, the steady rise and fall of his chest that’s smattered in coppery hair. Being on the road so often during the season, with morning practices all of the times in between, it’s rare that you get to spend a lazy morning with him, and even more rare to be able to appreciate how handsome your man is without him becoming bashful.

Once it’s clear that he isn’t waking up any time soon, you carefully slip out of bed and make your way downstairs to put on a fresh pot of coffee – something you know he’ll appreciate whenever he does rise from his slumber. It’s quiet in the house, peaceful, with a subtle but excited air as it awaits company and newly-created core memories with JT and his family.

The decadent smell of fresh brewed coffee begins to waft through the air as the pot fills up, and you pour yourself a mug. Grabbing a blanket, you wrap it over your shoulders before you move to stand by the window and watch the way the sun rises over the mountains in the distance, admiring the beautiful view.

You can hear the vibration of your phone against the countertop, pulling yourself away from the window to retrieve it. Smiling to yourself when you see JT’s name flashing at the top, signaling an incoming FaceTime call, you swipe to answer.

“Good morning,” you greet, giggling at his hair that’s sticking up in every direction. He looks disgruntled, a sign that he slept very, very well.

“Baby,” he whines, his voice muffled by the covers, “come back to bed.”

“You were asleep, J,” you say, “I didn’t want to wake you up.”

JT huffs, looking at you through the camera, a slightly bashful expression flitting onto his handsome face. “I wanted to wake up next to you.”

You can’t help the smile that forms despite his cheesy confession. For a guy who can be such a grouch, he sure loves to show his affection behind closed, locked, and firmly vaulted doors.  “You better hope EJ doesn’t catch you being the world’s softest simp.”

“You wouldn’t dare,” he challenges with a grin.

“No, but don’t test me,” you wink.

“Are you coming back to bed?” he asks again with a pout, offering his best puppy dog eyes.

“I’ll be up in a sec,” you say, hanging up before he can reply, prompting him to shout down the stairs, “Hurry up!”

He’s more apologetic, though, once he sees that the extra cup of coffee in your hand is the reason for your delay. He accepts the faded University of Michigan mug from you — his favorite — but is quick to discard it on his side table before turning to tug you into his arms. With a squeal, you earn another whine from him when you tell him you have to set your coffee down, too.

“Do you want me to spill it? Then we’d have to get out of bed to wash the sheets,” you point out. 

JT huffs again, conceding defeat, and releasing his hold on you just slightly so you can lean over to set your own mug on the end table. As soon as he hears the ceramic scraping the wood, his arms lock solidly around your middle and pull you back into him. 

“Much better,” he murmurs, lips pressed to the side of your head. His beard scratches the skin of your forehead, but you don’t mind, nuzzling into him even further. You’re content to listen to the beat of his heart, his fingers stroking slow circles into the skin on your arm. 

It’s warm under the covers, due in part to the thickness of your duvet, the other part simply from the heat of his body against yours, as the two of you doze on and off for the next few hours. When JT’s hands inevitably begin to wander, the coolness of the air on your skin as he strips off your pajamas is welcome, heat of varying kinds soaking into your body.

It’s simple, but more than fulfilling, as you enjoy the peaceful moments together, soft calls of his name into the quiet of the morning. You’re in love, drowning in it, and you know you’ll never forget days like today, when all of the stresses of the outside world are locked out, dulled by the arms and lips of your lover.

And though your coffee has gone cold on the nightstand, you have all the warmth that you need inside two strong arms.

The iconic Cruel Summer: a lyrical dissection!!

by the iconic Taylor Swift

Obviously, one of my favorite songs, one of her best, truly. I've always wanted to do an analysis on this poetic song so here we go!!

Note:

This is not intended to be a speculation on Taylor's personal life or feelings!! Just my interpretations of this amazing song!

In this song, she sings about an intense love in the summer, meant to be kept secret and hidden from the rest of the world.

Similarly to her song "Slut!" (written earlier as it was a vault track), she describes this love as a "sickness/fever" perhaps not in a toxic way, more of the fact that it makes her feel nauseous, giddy and flustered. In "slut!", she sings "Got lovesick all over my bed"

Interestingly, another reference to "Slut!"-- "Bad bad boy, shiny toy with a price you know that I bought it" is a lyrical parallel to "I'll pay the price, you won't." She refers to him as a "Shiny toy" something attractive and appealing, but comes at the cost of her emotions.

Perhaps the price she paid was the deep feelings that developed?

"Killing me slow, out the window" gives me that Romeo and Juliet scenario where Romeo calls for Juliet outside her window. Her initial anxiety about this relationship is encapsulated in "I'm always waiting for you to be waiting below". She is unsure if he is there to catch her if she falls, but she's blindly hoping he's there regardless.

Their situation is described as hopeless in the line "Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes" --Challenges (depicted as "devils") come their way in the relationship, while miracles (depicted as "angels") don't come easily.

"What doesn't kill me makes me want you more"-- a reference to the line "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger" which is often meant as a term of resilience. As the love proves to become stronger and more intense, her hopes for this relationship become higher.

The relationship is a wholly fresh and new experience that she has, and yet she describes this feeling as "blue".

With reference to the song, "Gorgeous" - "You make me so happy it turns back to sad." Blue can mean a multitude of things-serenity, peace, melancholy and sadness. Perhaps she means that she felt happy with him, but sad at the same time as she was unsure (at first) if it was going to last, making her feel melancholic.

"Its cool, that's what I tell 'em" shows the feigned nonchalance that she adopts when telling others about their relationship. Another reference to a previous song "Come back...Be Here" ("If I had known what I'd known now, I never would've played so nonchalant") Perhaps this is the type of defense mechanism that she has developed.

"No rules in breakable heaven" suggests at the fragile nature of this relationship (she describes is as "heaven"). As referenced in State of Grace, "Love is a ruthless game", this love has no rules, perhaps giving her a sense of loss in control.

Thus, she describes this love as a cruel summer, perhaps not just the season, but as a kind of cruel happiness and joy as summer is mostly associated with a glowy kind of happiness and freedom.

"Hang your head low" suggests that he tries to keep his identity a secret in perhaps a public space...? (as depicted by the presence of the vending machine)

He points out that "In these trying times, we're not trying" which could perhaps mean that during that period of time where she was trying to keep the relationship a secret, they weren't doing enough.

Thus, the next line "So cut the headlights" makes sense, as now they try to hide each other's presence by not using headlights at all. This is an echo of her previous song, "Style" where she sings "You come and pick me up, no headlights." All these hints towards a secretive rendezvous.

"Summer's a knife, I'm always waiting for you just to cut to the bone" shows how anxious the starting point of the relationship used to be. She was always waiting for the other shoe to drop, how her happiness in this relationship could ultimately hurt her in the end.

"and if I bleed you'll be the last to know" suggests at the defence mechanism that she has adopted. She is terrified to be vulnerable with him and get hurt in the process, as echoed in the chorus "It's cool, that's what I tell 'em."

LET'S CROSS THE BRIDGE!

The bridge paints an emotional and vulnerable scene, in contrast with the nonchalance that she portrayed earlier. Despite her distress, she still tries to maintain a cool facade "Said I'm fine, but it wasn't true." This line reminds me of "I might be okay but I'm not fine at all" in All Too Well.

"I don't wanna keep secrets just to keep you" shows how the anxiety and nervousness she faces while trying desperately to keep the relationship a secret has taken a toll on her. She wants to be able to love him openly.

"Just to seal my fate"---Seal my fate is an interesting choice of phrase. Seal my fate basically means if an event or situation happens to you, nothing can stop some unpleasant things from happening to you. Thus, I believe this phrase means that the more time she spent with him that summer, sneaking into the garden gate at night, she fell harder and harder for him uncontrollably.

The next line reaches the emotional climax of the song. "For whatever it's worth, I love you ain't that the worst thing you ever heard?" She's honest with the true depth and intensity of her feelings after claiming that "it's cool" and feels fearful of his reaction.

"He looks up grinning like the devil" perhaps shows his delight at the statement; her feelings are truly reciprocated. "Like the devil" tells us how her feelings regarding him have been tormenting her all summer.

Conclusion:

I love how this song incorporates all these metaphors and phrases that truly captures the anxiety and fluttering feelings of the fragile start of the relationship. The bridge is honestly one of her best and shows how the intensity of her emotions blow over into an honest, vulnerable confession. :)

Cealey Godwin on Endurance: High Sierras

I'm not going to lie and say Cealey and Alex deserved to win their season. I felt like they snuck through the final thanks to their connections with the Purple Team and got lucky with the final mission (and Kelsey losing her contact, apparently). Sure, Green winning their season was karmic justice twicefold (Blue for betraying Gray, and Purple for carrying Green as far as they did), but the whole thing rubbed me off the wrong way.

When I was rewatching High Sierras, however, what intrigued me was how tough and determined Cealey was, which contrasted with the more abrasive parts of her personality. She had a competative spirit and basically willed the Green Team to victory in "It's A Drag", shaping up to be the badass queen we saw with Erika or what we could've had with Lilly. She had a great sense of banter and was kind to others, and was willing to switch her team before that plan got hijacked.

On the other hand, some things about her and her alliance made me want to back off. When discussing about why the four-team alliance of Purple, them, Orange, and Red went after Yellow, Cealey tried to justify it by saying Lilly and Aric were sweet but really quiet, which only added fuel to the fire that e5 was actually a popularity contest (it also didn't help she wore purple shorts before a challenge, which probably lead to that twist). Worse still was when she falsely accused Taylor of cheating in a mission, and then made fun of her for crying, and then tried to deny it when confronted about it.

While not one of my favorite contestants, Cealey's arc showed the dichotomy of a person, in how they have both their high and low moments. She just had that shift in the course of one episode! And there's always a little room to reflect and try to improve oneself.

So I finally watched Top Gun: Maverick and now I’m going around and bothering(affectionate) my mutuals about their ocs.

I am so glad you finally watched Top Gun. Not just so you can join the fandom but because dang, it's one of the best summer flicks in a long time.

Her real name is Katelyn Thomas. (birdiefliesaway is her social handle to avoid hometown people following her. This has not worked since she's now an Influencer.) Hangman calls her Katie.

She became big after appearing on a Netflix reality TV show called The Network where wannabe influencers live together and complete challenges in order to gain a following & audience. They stay in the house based on an engagement metric & of course task perks. She placed third but was a fan favorite because of her small town charm and witty one-liners about the other contestant.

Grew up in Coolidge, Texas with Hangman. Was prom queen, homecoming queen, and well known as the pretty face who was gonna make it out.

Has a terrible relationship with her parents but is really close to her sister Emily who is 6 years younger than her.

Has a love life reminiscent to pre-Joe Alwyn Taylor Swift and the media is treating her just as kindly about it.

People who know her find it somewhat difficult to believe that so many people like her.She's not exactly warm or kind.
