I know I made a poll to pick which of these AUs I'd doodle, but after a long while I decided I wanted to draw all of them anyway.
In order we have:

Cabur Kad'edee AU Rex sulking because he's angy;

Note
Cody wouldn't even demand anything fancy, he just wants a large enough body of water to cool off so he doesn't smell like concentrated sweat all the time. Not something you'd come by on Tatooine very easily.
He'd even dive headfirst into any available ocean if it meant he could at least cool down for a few minutes.
Dealing with the dried salt clinging to his skin afterwards would not be as pleasant, but at least it would feel more refreshing than burrowing into the sand.
Not all giant clones get the smell like an ocean breeze on a summer's day, some smell like a gym sock roasted under the glare of twin suns UnU (someone please find Cody a giant shower, he is suffering from both the heat and terrible embarrassment)
Rex also smells awful, imagine a giant fish. Being in water doesn't mean he gets soap, the only reason nobody mentions it is because he's really going through it (and he smells so fucking awful even him can smell himself). He also has fish breath, so it's not very fun. At least Cody can shrink sometimes-
Rex 🤝 Cody
God someone get them cleaning supplies their size asap

Fic Idea Masterlist
Who He Is – Qui-Gon Jinn, right before the Naboo mission, is tossed forward in time where he meets a young Togruta padawan right off the coast of a battle. As she brings him to the base to meet with the High General, he talks a bit about his own padawan. (Time Travel)
Bending Jedi – The Jedi can bend the four main elements they have been keeping these specific abilities hidden away from the populous when they can, as people tend to fear them with what they can already do, the discovery of bending in Jedi would breed more distrust and fear. But the war has made that too difficult, as the Jedi are desperate to protect, and the clones are the first to discover the Jedi’s abilities, more than what they were told in their training. (Bending Jedi Avatar-Style)
Together Twins – An attack on Polis Massa forces Obi-Wan Kenobi to flee with both Luke and Leia Skywalker.
Chances – Trading their silence and obedience for the clones’ freedom at the end of the war, the Jedi find themselves nearly shunned and hated with the intense anti-Jedi sentiments that run rampant due to Palpatine’s influence. The clones refuse to accept this.
Order & Academy – After being rejected by Qui-Gon Jinn, initiate Obi-Wan Kenobi finds himself forward in time during that of the height of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy. (Time Travel)
Third Systems Unprepared – During the explosion where he received his iconic scar, Commander Cody’s chip was knocked around to the point of disuse. When the Chancellor calls on Utapau to Execute Order 66, Cody has no idea what it means, therefore unable to send the orders to the rest of the 212th Attack Battalion and much of the Open Circle Fleet. It changes a lot.
Reverse Psychometry – After coming back from his stint with the Dark Side, Quinlan Vos spends some time with Obi-Wan Kenobi and touches his cloak with an ungloved hand. Instead of his psychometry giving him flashes of the past, he’s fairly certain it gives him a flash of the future. One where Obi-Wan’s grief is overwhelming, everyone is dead, and Anakin Skywalker burns without his limbs. (Reverse psychometry)
Kamino Investigation – Instead of chasing Jango Fett off Kamino, Obi-Wan Kenobi stays on planet, giving the tracker to another nearby knight, while he investigates the clones and the events surrounding them.
Space Survival – An explosion goes off on the Negotiator, which is in low orbit over the Republic world for repairs. Obi-Wan Kenobi is aboard and holding as much of the ship together as he can for the evacuation of the wounded.
Bracca Detour – Upon an accidental detour to Bracca after being sent to Tatooine for exile with Luke, Obi-Wan Kenobi finds Cal Kestis.
Lothal AU – Owen Lar’s disbelief and mistrust of Obi-Wan chases him away and the Jedi leaves with Luke (or Leia), eventually finding himself on Lothal where he befriends the Bridgers.
Bit Age Swap – Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker has no intention on taking a padawan just as the war is starting, despite being a knight for nearing a decade until his master, Mace Windu, comes to him with an orphaned padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, whose Master died on Geonosis and is determined to fight in this war, whether the Order likes it or not. Skywalker quickly discovers there is more to padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi than first meets the eye. (Smidge of Age-Swapping)
Din Djarin Au – With the Sith and Separatists defeated, Obi-Wan Kenobi and the 212th are finishing the last of the battles against the droids and stubborn Separatist leaders. It is on a planet, during one of these battles, where the droids are invading a city, that General Kenobi rescues newly orphaned and force-sensitive Din Djarin.
Stay Out of it – Obi-Wan and the 212thare in bound to Coruscant for a few days’ rest, refuel and new orders when Anakin and Padme’s marriage comes to light. And then, Obi-Wan can’t get back to the front quick enough.
This is Different – Coming back from Melida-Daan has proven more difficult than anticipated for Obi-Wan Kenobi and it only gets worse when he wakes up, decades later, only to be found – and accepted – by a monstrous Sith Lord, who seems to have some odd soft spot for him. (Time Travel)
Lineage Reconnection – Obi-Wan brings it upon himself to contact Qui-Gon’s lineage and friends to inform them of the news of his death. Yoda does what he does best and meddles. At least, it appears this time, it worked for the better of everyone involved.
Back with Hope – Obi-Wan Kenobi, a while after Order 66 finds himself back in time, reliving events. He doesn’t entirely know where to start with changing things until something changes for him. The Jedi receive a call from an unknown source – it is tiny clone children calling for their only hope – Obi-Wan Kenobi. (Time Travel)
Undying – It is on Bandomeer when Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn discover that the former cannot die, and it is used to their advantage. Obi-Wan keeps his secret, even after Qui-Gon’s death, until he can’t anymore. It is the revelation of the Chosen One prophecy that his purpose is revealed – as a Guardian, Obi-Wan Kenobi cannot die until the Chosen One has brought balance to the Force.
Lineage Last – Anakin and Ahsoka both leave the Jedi Order after she is accused – and proven innocent – and although Obi-Wan understands, the fact that he they left, and he is the last of his lineage doesn’t hurt any less.
Amor – Obi-Wan has been to war before; no one needed to convince him to wear at least some armor. Now how much, that is a different story.
Canon Switch – Anakin Style – After saying something he would come to regret; Anakin Skywalker finds himself in a universe where Obi-Wan had died on Naboo... and Qui-Gon had lived. It is not nearly as he dreamed it would be. (Alternate Universe – Canon Divergence – Time Travel)
Canon Switch – QuiGon Style – A heartbroken Qui-Gon survived Naboo while his padawan did not. Barely surviving for the next ten years, Qui-Gon finds himself in a universe where the opposite is true. (Time Travel)
Dooku Set Up – Tired of Palpatine’s schemes, Count Dooku thinks of defecting when the master Sith Lord is killed. Someone is setting him up and Dooku reaches out to the only person he desperately hopes can help - his grand padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Extra Weird Jedi – The Jedi end up being different than the clones had expected. More odd, dangerous, intriguing. The Kaminoans had told them one thing, the populace’s view of the Jedi. But up close, working with them? It’s so much different.
Baby Counselor – Obi-Wan Kenobi is the youngest member of the Council and is known a bit as the Council baby – at least with other masters – and those on it, are not afraid to treat him that way. It just a tad changes things.
Crechemaster Obi-Wan – When the war comes to an end, Obi-Wan Kenobi decides to become a creche master while Anakin and Padme expect their first child. But when the Senator dies of a cause that is no one’s fault, Anakin is left bereft and leaves his children behind. Obi-Wan takes Luke and Leia into his creche clan.
To be Chosen – Jedi Luke Skywalker is thrown back in time to that where the Order still exists. Finding he cannot go back; he constructs a new life and home into the Temple. Several years later, even though Master Yoda tries to keep a specific initiate away from his sight, Luke encounters him anyways and thinks, perhaps he and Obi-Wan were linked, always meant to be. Perhaps it was Luke’s turn to give back to his master. To be Chosen. (Time Travel)
Kamino Defense – Peace is restored after the war, although the work isn’t done. In response to the controversy surrounding his padawans marriage to Senator Amidala, Obi-Wan accepts a post to protect the clones and their young from power hungry warlords and greedy businessmen on Kamino while the Senate debates what to do with them.
Burned Deep – A thousand years ago, the Jedi chained themselves to the Senate and Republic and dismantled their military as a show of good faith. Now the Senate controls the Jed strictly to keep them from taking over. The Temple becomes a beautiful cage, their stringent parameters for missions a leash. In this world, when the war begins, Jedi are let loose as more of attack dogs than Generals. (Alternate Universe – Canon History Divergence)
Jumping Ages – In an attempt to use what she thinks is a Sith weapon, Ventress just ends up causing some chaos for Obi-Wan and the crew as he ends up popping in at different ages and stages of his life over the course of an unknown amount of time. The only one who doesn’t seem to be rattled is Cody. (De-Aging/Age Regression)
Padme Lives – After surviving Order 66, Padme is forced to hide away with her children, leaving Obi-Wan free to find surviving Jedi and learn about the clones’ predicament.
We Are Burning Stars - Instead of on a faraway planet, fighting the last battles of the war, Obi-Wan Kenobi is walking aside his Commander in the Jedi Temple when Order 66 hits.
Revolving Suns - Raised by Obi-Wan Kenobi, teenaged Luke Skywalker finds himself back into the Clone Wars while General Kenobi falls into an unexplainable coma.

AU where Quinlan Vos’s mother survived the attack orchestrated by great-aunt Tinté. Between Mom’s testimony and Quin reading something of hers and getting a strong impression of her intentions, Tinté was convicted and imprisoned on Kiffex.
Tholme was allowed to continue training Quin, but when the time came to choose, Quin decided his mother and his homeworld needed him more. They parted ways amicably, however, and Quin still does the odd job for the Master of Shadows (absolutely including the mission that leads him to Aayla).
Quin still grows up to be irreverent and charming, but it’s tempered by a strong sense of belonging. He could skyrocket through the ranks of the Guardians if he wanted to, but keeps sabotaging the efforts of the higher-ups who try to promote him. He likes being on the ground and helping people, and when he isn’t on duty he’s usually acting as a sort of private eye for the common folk, helping them track down lost loved ones or providing the kinds of answers only a good psychometrist can give. He loves the work and the people love him.
One of his missions from Tholme sends him to Tatooine with Aayla in tow, where they encounter Anakin Skywalker several days before the Naboo contingent crashes there. He isn’t hindered by the same red tape as the Jedi and Aayla turns a blind eye as he manages to smuggle both Shmi and Ani to safety. He also crosses paths with a cocky stick-up-the-ass Jedi padawan named Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s an instant friendship. Of sorts. Quin offers to transport them all back to Coruscant, but runs into trouble with Qui-Gon, who is suspicious of a non-Jedi Force-wielder (even with Aayla to vouch for him), doesn’t buy his story that Shmi and Anakin are his cousins, and susses out that Ani is strong in the Force. Ominous rumblings of “Chosen One” are already surfacing by the midway point. Quin comms ahead to Tholme and dumps the whole mess in his lap before haring back to Kiffu (after procuring Obi-Wan’s comm code, of course).
Qui-Gon is very thoroughly sidelined, much to Obi’s amusement. Tholme talks with both Shmi and Ani and offers to teach him some basics so he’ll be able to control his abilities without causing harm. Maybe throw some Tholme/Shmi in there, depending on what the ages are like.
Officially the Council says Anakin is too old to become a Jedi, but it doesn’t take much persuading from Tholme to convince them that he does need SOME training. Which he was going to do either way, but having permission is always a bonus.
Anakin, meanwhile, transfers his affections from Padmé to Aayla, who’s not only beautiful but is also a Jedi, which is so wizard. Sorry, Padmé, but you get to live your own life this time around and have a chance at happier relationships. Aayla, alas, very much does NOT return Anakin’s crush (he’s nine and she’s sixteen, so ew). He’ll grow out of it eventually, and having his mother around provides more of a stable influence for him so hopefully he won’t grow up to be a possessive controlling bastard.
Quinlan gets a comm from Obi-Wan sometime after Naboo and Quin drags him to Kiffu for some much-needed emotional healing and probably a lot of physical distractions (both the sexy kind and the worky kind). Obi is feeling... unmoored after everything that happens and hey, if Quin plays his cards right he could have a fun new partner in crime. I mean, crime-busting. At the very least Obi might wind up on more Shadow missions with Quin.

First off I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone that follows me and deals with me 🥺💕 I kinda can’t believe I’m at 100? I have a lot more up coming so bare with me!! I also wanted to try my hand at writing a few headcanons for some of our favorite boys involving how they handle their emotions when they first find that special one! Will do some more later! And since I reached 100 followers I will also be releasing some of my world-building headcanons about my CEO Maul AU that is in the works!
Wolffe- This boy gets extremely, overwhelmed with his emotions and in turn, he begins lashing out at others accidentally. It's simply because he doesn't understand how to control all these new emotions he's experiencing and he's confused and scared. After all, he's not even supposed to be feeling like this so he feels as if he's failing:
*Ever since you convinced Plo Koon to aid his men to Aleen for support, Wolffe has started feeling weird. Any time you tried to approach him though, he was rather reserved and sometimes gave you the cold shoulder. That is until you kept pestering him and eventually broke that beskar like a shield he had up.
*He doesn’t understand what it is, and he’s convinced he’s picked up a bug or something while planetside. Though he refuses to admit being sick and keeps it to himself.
*Part of him doesn’t understand why he has the constant need to get off 24/7 either, and somehow his mind always ends up wandering to you.
*Maker is he spiraling in the hell of feelings.
*During a skirmish with the 501st, he starts lashing out at Boost more than usual because it’s a “life or death” situation, and any mistake they make during these drills reflect on the battlefield. Even though it’s just a friendly game Skywalker organized to keep the troopers entertained but also practice strategizing.
*As days pass, and the more you’re around Wolffe begins secluding himself more. Trying to deal with the weirdness he’s experiencing, still not able to pinpoint what the hell is going on with him.
*“Good you’re here.” When Sinker manages to locate his Commander and he barges into his quarters while starting to interrogate him.
*Wolffe felt like a blaster shot got him right in the chest. He felt like he couldn’t breathe, knowing he couldn’t escape Sinker’s questions. The commander hadn’t even noticed his emotions were controlling his behavior he was too wrapped up feeling like a defective clone.
*Wolffe knows clones weren’t supposed to have feelings, only to do their duty by serving the republic and that was it. Not even allowed to have possessions and yet, the idea of you being his was something he couldn’t suppress. It was wrong but anytime any other man spoke to you, held your attention he longed to stun them with his blaster.
*Eventually, Sinker was able to get Wolffe to unravel everything he was hanging onto. At first teasing, the commander was his first instinct, however, once he noticed how uncomfortable and shrunken the man in front of him was he immediately began comforting him.
*Wolffe made Sinker swear not to tell a soul, in exchange for relentless teasing and inside jokes between the two now. Something Wolffe “hates” but it’s better than everyone knowing, especially you while he gets all the advice from his brother on emotions, love, and most importantly how to get you in his grasp.
*“Kriff Wolffe, I’ve never seen you blush so much,” All Wolffe could let out was a low growl, eyes too focused on you walking down the hallway. Just the way you smiled and greeted him left him in a trance. “Guess that’s why they call it puppy love! Get it, Wolffe! Maybe we should just call you Wolffe Pup!”
*“Cut it out di’kut.” He hissed, walking away to escape to his quarters.
______________
Echo- This precious baby is worried he's not good enough for you. He's super shy and just wants to treat you the way you deserve is that too much to ask?
*100% hopeless romantic, but not sure how to execute it.
*This boy is SOFT. But he’s not one to seek out that attention for himself, he just wants to bask you in that attention, making you feel like you’re his whole world. Because you are. He’d do absolutely anything for you. But in the beginning, it was hard for him to even consider himself worthy of your love. He never knew what love actually felt like until he met you, but he was always intrigued by the idea of love.
*When he first locked eyes with you, it was in a cantina on Tatooine. Wrecker insisted on checking the planet out to scope out any odd bounties to take care of since there were no current missions.
*Of course, once his eyes met with yours that was it. A chill ran down his spine, and his cheeks were dusted with a rosy hue. Butterflies filling his stomach. Once the rest of the bad batch caught on, boy did they give him hell.
*Majority of their time on Tatooine, Echo would wander off by himself into town in hopes to run into you, but knowing damn well he wouldn’t try anything. He was far too scared and self-conscious about it. Especially after meeting the Techno Union, he didn’t feel worthy of your time, didn’t feel like he deserved anyone. He felt like a monster.
*If he wasn’t looking around for you, he was sitting outside the bad batch ship, prosthetic knees pulled into his chest as he pondered the true meaning of love. Considering the possibility you are what most call a “soul mate.”
*All the secret reading of holo novels and never prepared him for the true experience and now he’s left alone with his thoughts. Hatred building at all his imperfections he now has.
*Tech at one point tried to explain the whole biological basis of love and theories supporting it, but that only made Echo’s head spin. On the other hand, he had Wrecker in his ear on the vulgarities of love. Though, because these troopers were different, they didn’t discourage their brother either. They fully supported whatever would make him happy which only made him think of Fives even more. Fives would know what to say and guide him in the right direction because after all Fives always had civies swooning over him.
*“For Fives.” He’d repeat over and over, trying to muster the courage to even approach you at the market. Echo wanted his brother to be proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone in an attempt to discover if what he was truly feeling was love.
*Even though he was embarrassed to admit it to himself, he attempted some of Fives’ pick up lines but when the words tumble out of his mouth…they sound more like rambles, managing to forget the important parts of said pick up lines leaving Echo red and more flustered
*He’s honestly so precious trying to follow in his brother’s footsteps. Even if he’s making a fool out of himself, the giggle he gets from you is so rewarding that he keeps coming back to your vendor stall.
*The way he sees you look at him like he’s not broken and defective based on his cybernetics makes his heart leap. He finally found someone that hasn’t pitied him or trying to fix him.
*This is love. This is without a doubt the definition of love he was searching for. Crosshair was wrong. Soul Mates did exist, and it was you. Maker was it you, and he will do his best to try and show you how much he cherishes you as he learns more.
________
Fives- This man doesn’t stop at anything!! We all know he’s a popular man, but when that one special someone has his heart that’s it. He’s 100% devoted and will try to win their love every single day as if its started all over again. His pick up jokes are hella corny though and I will die on this hill!
*Confidence!!! Need I say more? Especially after a few drinks at 79s.
*This man will not hesitate to invade your personal space and whisper sweet nothings in someone's ear. Except when he tries it on you? He earns a swift smack to the face, damaging his ego a bit.
*Boy, the look on the rest of the 501st’ face should’ve been holorecorded. He’s NEVER rejected. But you weren’t the type to entertain drunk strangers. Despite the embarrassing encounter, Fives is plotting another scheme to get your attention. Although let's be honest, he’s always scheming!
*Even though he has a pretty high body count, it never meant anything to him. Just some stimulation and stress relief. However, that all stopped when he laid eyes on you. He swore to himself that he’d do everything in his power to be with you. But not just intertwined in the sheets, no, soul and all, hand and hand.
*Fives has heard about love before, but he never really thought he’d find someone who made him feel like that. If he was being honest with himself, he was kinda skeptical about it. After all, he didn’t really know anyone who experienced it. At least he wasn’t aware.
*It took him quite a few days of talking in the mirror and hyping himself up before he dared to try again before it dawned on him you may not even be there again. This kind of sends him spiraling a bit, anxiety starting to creep up on him like a Rishi Eel.
*One thing about Fives though is he’s determined. He was willing to wait as long as he possibly could to cross paths with you once more in hopes to patch things up and catch your attention. Some of the boys had Kix check up on their brother as he was constantly rambling to himself, thinking about all the possible scenarios he’d had with you at 79s. He managed to convince everyone he was fine though, just strategizing.
*His second attempt at winning you over went a little something like this; You were leaning against the bar, talking to a friend while he waltzed up to order a drink. He notices your friend begins to nudge you, only for you to roll your eyes once you see who it is. Of course, he’s got that stupid grin on his face, ready to work his magic. “You look tired darling.” His mouth hovers over the brim of the glass, eyes locking with yours. “I’m fine.” Your eyebrow raised, curious as to what game this clone was playing. You had to admit he was ballsy and hot…in an irritating kind of way. “Hmm...Surprised.” Fives mumbled taking another sip of his Trandoshan ale, “Cos you’ve been running through my mind all day.” The friend next to you ended up spitting her drink on the floor and your face beat red and not because of the alcohol.
*Once he laid out that card, that was it. He locked you in and you had no choice but to give him some of your time.
*Just the way he admires the words tumbling out of your lips, all attention on you, is surprising. Here you thought you had a man just wanting to slip into your pants and yet, he’s listening to your life story, asking questions about you. Your likes, dislikes, everything.
*He’s not one to admit he’s wrong, but he apologizes for his first interaction with you. Even admits that he was so awestruck with your beauty that his brain just stopped functioning.
*After several outings, his demeanor never changes. He’s so into you and remembers every detail about you. Any shift in your tone and he’s pressing you to talk about whatever is on your mind. Wanting to be the one to help you through it all.
*“Ya know Rex. I think I’m in love?” The captain couldn’t help but let out a snicker before realizing Fives is serious. “You? In love? Since when was that possible?” Fives just rolled his eyes and gave Rex a somewhat gentle push, before sneaking a peek at the holopic he has of you. Love was better than he expected, especially when it involved you.

I’m piggybacking off the AU I hastily threw together for this prompt response to explore a concept that’s been lurking at the back of my brain for a while.
Luke had fled off-planet again.
He had done so once before, about a year earlier, and Vader had been fortunate to catch up to his son swiftly and without issue. This time, however, was markedly different than the last.
That first time, Luke had left no indication of where he had gone, had not wanted to be found, but was discovered through the will of the Force; this time, he had stated precisely where he planned to go.
This did not make Vader feel any better in the least.
His son had been spending less and less time at home, these days, claiming his studies as the primary reason he ventured into the depths of the capital, but his sour attitude as of late seemed to suggest otherwise. Often, he would return of his own volition, scowling and broody, but still mercifully present. More than once, however, Vader had to intervene.
Scum lurked amongst Coruscant's underworld, those who would take one look at Luke and, even without knowing his importance, seek to exploit him. When such creatures encountered Darth Vader, they very, very rarely survived. Far too often, however, they evaded him – a fact which did not seem to bother his son in the least.
If he had his way, Vader would secure Luke in his quarters and be done with it. The child was far too reckless for his own good, and seemed to insist on seeking trouble when at all possible. His master had decreed otherwise, however, insisting that the boy be allowed his freedom, likely as a trap or to taunt him, somehow, and Luke would never have accepted confinement as strict as Vader would have preferred.
So that left him in this predicament – his son far from home, his master unaware but likely amused, regardless, and himself worried beyond belief.
Dearest Father, the note had said. By the time you read this, I will be deep in hyperspace, or maybe at my destination already. That... had not boded well already. I know you will find me. You always do. So I'll save you the trouble. I've gone to Tatooine. I've gone home. And oh, how that had stung. Home. Luke's home was with his father, not some backwater, gangster-controlled hellscape. Yet Luke had the audacity to claim otherwise. I know you're going to come and get me, because I've been your son long enough to figure that out, but when you do, make sure you're ready to talk. Otherwise, I'll make our return flight as miserable as possible.
Insubordinate officers, rogue Jedi and Rebel fighters all facing him down side by side would be far simpler to deal with than his teenager. Luke had single handedly challenged Vader in more ways than the rest of his lifetime's trials combined. Forcing him to return to Tatooine, however, after vowing never to return following the retrieval of his son, was pulling him to the end of his rope.
Upon entering the system, Vader could sense precisely where Luke was, his presence shining like a beacon in the Force. It was little surprise, where the boy had headed, though that did nothing to mitigate Vader's rage.
"Luke," Vader rumbled, his irritation palpable even through the thick heat of the mid-afternoon air. "It is time to cease this childish behaviour and return home, where you will at last be taught some proper manners."
His son stiffened at the words, visibly angered or afraid – or, possibly, both – but he did not turn away from facing the grave stones he stood before.
"Father." These days, that word seemed to be spat at him with more and more bitterness. This time, it was loaded with enough venom to stab at his heart with a thin layer of ice. "I thought I told you to be ready to talk when you came here. Am I going to have to make this difficult?"
"Luke," Vader growled, barely containing the rage that roiled within him. "As it stands, you are fortunate that I do not keep you tethered in your rooms or find some other way to contain you in your quarters to prevent these foolish actions. You are coming with me. Now."
Luke whirled around, blowing up sand as he did, and shot his father a glare. It was strange, to Vader, the level of anger, resentment and hurt that expression contained, without dipping anywhere near the Dark.
"Oh, so that's how you're gonna play this?" Luke hissed. "You wanna cage me like an animal when I don't do precisely as you wish? What am I to you? A son? Or a possession?"
The level of vitriol his son was spewing was astonishing, and it took him a moment to register what was being said. It was with great effort that he contained his ire when he responded to the foolish child. "I am your father, and you will respect me as such."
Luke – foolish, stubborn Luke – answered that with a bark of bitter laughter. "I told you to only come here if you were ready to talk, but I should've said you better be ready to listen. You talk plenty. You don't listen. Just make demands. I'm not one of your soldiers, you know, I'm not some puppet you can just bark orders at." An odd blend of emotions flickered across the boy's face for a moment before he laughed again, sounding more hysterical this time. "You don't even know what day it is, do you? Why I came here?"
A few cycles of the respirator passed as Vader composed himself. He refused to lose patience with his son, but the boy was testing his limits. "You harbour some foolish attachment to this world, to this life you once led. You and I both spent our earliest years on this world, but those are lifetimes best left in the past."
Luke stared at him for a moment, dumbfounded, before letting out a noise of frustration, kicking a patch of sand and setting off pacing. "You don't get it!" he yelled, voice pitching up. "I hated this place growing up. This homestead... it felt like a prison, this world like a trap. But... eight years ago... eight years ago today..." His voice caught in his throat, his eyes glistening, and be refused to look anywhere but the coarse grains grinding beneath his feet. "I never did come back here after it happened. I was at Biggs'. Remember? You came to retrieve me, told me you were my father, that there had been an attack on my home, but everything would be alright because you would protect me..."
His feet settled and he turned a watery gaze towards his father, hurt glimmering in the depths of his bright blues. "I was a child. Only eight years old, how could I have known any better at the time?" As his voice broke, Luke paused, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened them again, he appeared completely composed. "I'd always believed it was Tuskens. You never did say. But it was you. Wasn't it? Those were lightsaber marks on the walls."
He had never wanted his son to find out. Perhaps he was a fool to imagine it would be as simple as eliminating his guardians and claiming the boy for his own, once and for all. Doing so had set things right, after all, and Luke was where he was meant to be. He should have known better. He should have planned for this.
"My connection to this world belongs to a man who no longer exists," Vader said, carefully controlling his tone and, for once, grateful for the vocoder's assistance in that regard. "As I said, that is a lifetime best left forgotten. You would do well to do the same."
"Stars!" Luke cried, throwing up his hands. "You really don't get it! What about my connection to this world? My aunt and uncle, my friends, my grandmother? And I just – I don't understand how you can stand there, look me in the eye and disconnect yourself from Anakin Skywalker. If you have no connection to him, or his past, or his memories, how can you claim any connection to me?"
"You are my son. I have no need to dredge up the past in order to recognize this fact. Or to form a connection with you."
To Vader, it was simple. The distinction was simple. The distance from his past did not change their blood, their bond or the truth.
To Luke, it seemed, things were not so simple, and for a moment, it seemed he would have another outburst. After a few seconds, however, the boy deflated with a sigh. He appeared exhausted and disappointed. "Let's... let's just go, Father. I'm done here."
Vader had no idea what had just happened between him and Luke. Someday, perhaps, he would untangle the knot of emotions that was his teenager. For now, however, he was satisfied to have his son back at his side.

PROMPT MASH UP. 93. Makeover. and not on there but possibly intoxicated? or bad acting? or all three? And for Luke. bonus points if Vader is involved because I love your Luke&Vader fics. Thanks so much for writing these!
This is very, very similar to this AU I did a few months ago (which I have every intention of writing a sequel to, I just haven’t got round to it yet), probably because the concept of a Naboo!Luke is one of my favourites, and the scene of Vader striding into the throne room is just too dramatic. So I’m sorry for being repetitive, but hey, I had fun writing this, so I hope you have fun reading it!
Prompts from this post.
Lukas tooka deep breath. He resisted the urge to pull a face—the makeup would just draghis expression back into a neutral flatness—and tried not to shiver.
Strange:even when Lord Vader wasn’t in the room yet, he still had an effect on theatmosphere.
It wasespecially strange that Lukas could almost… sense the dark lord’s approach, like a contained sandstorm—no, rainstorm. Sandstorms on Tatooine werestill hot, as everything was under those twin suns; Lord Vader reminded Lukasmore of the rainstorms he’d encountered since coming to Naboo, and how deathlycold they could make a young desert farm boy feel.
Unwittingly,Lukas’s eyes slid to his king’s. Jonas looked scared but resolute, and Lukasdrew strength from it. This was it: this was the friend whose decoy he’d beentraining to be for years; this was, if it came down to it, the person he hadsworn to lay down his life for. And with Vader on the way…
He hopedAunt Sola would forgive him.
He hoped his grandmother would forgive him.
She wasstill upset over his mother’s death…
Hebanished all thoughts of either woman from his mind as the door swung open andVader strode in, clad in shadows and death. Lukas straightened up, that mask ofrespectful disdain falling over his face surprisingly easily.
“LordVader, on behalf of Naboo it is my honour—”
“Ihave no time for games, Your Majesty. You are under arrest for high treason against the Empire.”
Lukassucked in a breath, though he’d expected it. He felt, in the way he always felt things, Jonas’s guilt; he pointedlydidn’t look at his friend.
He didn’tregret anything. He was glad Naboo had harboured those Force  users. Ahsoka especially had been kind, hadbegun to teach them all how to shield. He couldn’t bear the thought of handingthem over to Vader and his minions.
“Verywell, then,” Lukas said. “I submit to the arrest, on the grounds thatno others, including my own entourage, will be punished for my transgression.”
He took inanother breath, ready to argue his case—hehad to protect Jonas—until—
“Agreed.”
ThankShiraya for the royal makeup. The only surprise Lukas showed was a quick blink;otherwise he remained impassive.
He had notexpected Vader to capitulate that easily.
Add thatto the satisfaction and anticipation he could feel rolling offVader in droves, and he knew there was something very, very… off.
But whatcould he do about it?
If therewas the slightest chance that this could spare Jonas from execution… he hadto take it.
So Lukasnodded, stood from the throne, and took several long steps towards Vader. Thestormtroopers accompanying the dark lord came forward, binders at the ready. .. then Vader waved his hand and they fastened themselves around Lukas’s wristsof their own accord.
“Youare dismissed,” he told the troopers curtly.
“Mylord—”
“I thinkI am capable of handling one teenage boy.” Lukas winced, but didn’t refuteit; he’d thought the same thing of the monarchs when he first came to Naboo, after all. “You. Are. Dismissed.”
The threatin his tone was evident. The troopers left, and Vader took his shoulder toescort him out personally. Lukastried to catch a glimpse of Jonas and the others before the door slammed shut, but Vader’s grip on his shoulder was tight.
The momentthey left the safe, familiar confines of the palace, Lukas’s fear both spikedand dropped.
Dropped, because at least Vader had bought it,and his king was no longer in his presence. Spiked, because…
He wasgoing to die.
He didn’teven know if Jonas would be safe—the oddness from earlier haunted histhoughts—and he was going to die.
“Youare not going to die, young one.”
Lukasjerked his head up just as he climbed into the speeder. Again, the onlysurprise the makeup let him show was a slight widening of his eyes, but thatseemed to be all Vader needed.
“ThoseJedi taught you impressive shields for the time that they had, but they areinadequate,” Vader elaborated, and Lukas doubted he would ever be able to untangle the mix ofamusement, smugness and… pride… in that sentence. “Your thoughtsbetray you. You worry for the actual king.”
Makeup orno makeup, Lukas’s eyes blew wide—
“Relax.I have no interest in him.”
Thespeeder started forward, but Lukas was fixated on Vader.
The darklord’s voice was heavy with something. “I came only for you.”
“Me?”Why? Lukas was just… Lukas. Hewas the background person. That was the point.
Vader wassilent for a moment, then asked, like he already knew the answer, “Yourname?”
Hefrowned. “Lukas Naberrie.” Why did he care?
“Yes.But that is not the name you were born with.”
His gazesnapped up to those red eye plates. How had he—
“Ihave tracked you from Tatooine, young one, and that name change only made itmore difficult. I am aware you took on your mother’s name when you came to staywith her family, and I am aware you changed it again when you started trainingas the king’s decoy. But while you were on Tatooine, living with your father’s.. . family"—Vader sneered the word—"what was your name?”
Lukasgritted his teeth, remembering Old Ben’s warnings, but it was clear Vaderalready knew. So… “Luke Skywalker.”
Somethingcold settled around his shoulders, like an embrace that was in equal partscomforting and unnerving.
“And that is why I came only for you.”
Luke shookhis head. “I still don’t understand—”
“Mymother was Shmi Skywalker.”
Images ofthe grave that had stood outside his homestead flashed to mind; he didn’t knowif they were his memories, or Vader’s.
His, orhis f—
Thatcoldness tightened around his shoulders, and the orphan in Luke leaned into italmost on reflex. His eyes pricked with tears.
“Then—”He shook his head. This was too much to comprehend all at once; he’d gone fromresolve to fear to confusion to hope in the space between heartbeats, and— he—“What?”
Vader—his father—seemed to understand that theword was more exclamation than actual question, but he responded to it anyway.
“Andthat is why I have searched for you for so long,” he said, something tender in his voice—"my son.”

When Cody wakes up in Abuela's home, large enough that he's caused some substantial amount of damage, he nearly has a panic attack. He's convinced he's made a great big mess of things and that he's ruined his once chance at a normal life.
Rather than tell him to leave and never return, Abuela simply asks him to maybe stop growing and to have some stew. This surprises Cody so much that he complies without saying a single word. I mean, how would you react to such a nonchalant reaction to this sort of situation?
The curtains are drawn and Cody is sitting in a very hunched over position. He's holding what to him is pretty much a cup sized pot, taking a few sips of a very nice and flavorful stew, while Abuela prepares more for him.
Once she's satisfied that he's eaten his fill, she gives him some medicine and then prepares him a nest of blankets and pillows to sleep on. He finally asks why she's so ok with this whole ordeal, and why she's going through the trouble to look after a freak like him, when she starts tucking him in.
"Silly lad, these old eyes of mine have seen their fair share of strangeness around these parts... And don't go calling yourself such derogatory terms. As far as I'm concerned, you're just like any other down-on-his-luck traveler that comes to Anchorhead looking for an opportunity for a better life... Who am I to deny you that when you've been nothing but good to me?"
Obi-wan and Alpha-17 finally arrive by the time he's fallen asleep. Abuela invites them inside to have some tea and to discuss a recovery plan, because Gray Rot is a bitch to deal with.

At first Obi-wan tries to keep his concerns about Cody from Alpha-17.
Things are going relatively well now. Cody has learned to control his growth spurts, has a job he seemingly enjoys, is slowly building up a social life of his own, and has even begun training his unofficial massiff squad.
There haven't been any more incidents like the one with the Krayt Dragon.
But, no matter how much Obi-wan tells himself things are looking up for them, there's this nagging feeling in the back of his head that keeps making him want to tell Seventeen that there is something to look out for whenever Cody is bigger than a house.
He can't forget that ominous golden glow in his eyes, or just how easily he took down that great big beast... It bothers him how blank his face looked. Like nothing else mattered than eliminating the threat. Surely someone else will agree that he's right to worry?
Especially now that Cody works in a relatively populated area?

By the time word gets out to Obi-wan and Alpha-17 that Cody seems to have taken ill quite suddenly, and that he's currently in Abuela's house resting, the issue of Cody's subconscious size shifting is becoming a bit of a predicament...
He's completely crushed the bed and whatever furniture was in the guest room, and there's no telling just how big he's actually going to get. But from the stories she'd heard previously about the "Grey Beast" she's estimating he'll probably be big enough to not only destroy her house but also half the town.
Now, call Abuela a paranoid coot all you want, but she knows the people of Anchorhead aren't going to react positively to a sleeping giant accidentally destroying part of their neighborhood and livelihoods. Especially not while he's so vulnerable and unable to defend himself from whatever attacks they might begin on his person as a form of retaliation.
She likes Cody. He's become a surrogate son to her after her own family all but abandoned her. And she's not about let the poor lad suffer through any injustices over something he clearly has no control over. Gray Rot is a terrible sickness and his body seems to only be trying to fight it off in the ways it can. If it's best defense is to grow then who is she to judge him for that?
She's still waiting on her medic friend to bring her the medicine and she's all but tapping her foot on the floor, chin upon one hand while the other taps in sync with her foot on her elbow. Deep in thought as she is, she manages to count the seconds in between each growth spurt.
It started quickly but the larger he gets the slower the process seems to be. Obviously Abuela doesn't know that he's had issues before with his growth spurts, and also doesn't know that when he's asleep it's a little less of a sudden process than when he gets startled, angry or even when he sneezes a little too strongly. Shifting size while asleep is less intrusive and less energy consuming.
She doesn't know any of this but she does know how to keep track of time, and as Cody's growth slows down she realizes she can make a rough estimate of when exactly he'll end up outgrowing the room he's in completely. It gives her enough time to push the furniture from other rooms around to give the lad some space (and maybe avoid her having to get new furniture on top of a new house once this is all over). It also gives her time to collect her thoughts a bit and decide on the next course of actions she'll need to take.
He's growing while he's sleeping, so clearly he's unaware of it. Perhaps (even if she's loath to awaken someone who's ill and clearly in need of rest) if she wakes him up he'll be able to stop it before he obliterates her little home? And he might as well be awake anyway. He'll need to eat something before he takes his medicine (which she's sure should arrive soon anyway), and she was preparing him a nice rich stew to help bolster his energy reserves anyway. If he's going to overcome his ailment he'll need a full belly. Although that said she might need to make a few more pots...
Meanwhile Obi-wan is gunning it to Anchorhead in a panic thinking this might be it and that Cody is going to be discovered. Alpha-17 is fruitlessly trying to get the man to calm down before he gives himself an aneurysm, while Silas the Eopie really wishes his master wasn't such an anxiety riddled hermit of a man that seems to like forcing the poor space camel to run needless marathons.
Never a dull moment on Tatooine.

While Obi-wan is still stuck pondering about breaching his ex-commander's trust by telling Alpha-17 about the Krayt Dragon Incident, things carry on relatively normally for Cody.
He's pretty happy in his newfound routine since it gives his life some much needed structure:
Tending to Abuela's Fruit Stall in Anchorhead, from dawn to midday;
Having a late lunch with Abuela after closing up shop and cleaning everything up;
Passing by the Owen Farmstead to have tea with Beru;
Returning to his cave to take a two hour nap;
Continuing the Massiff Squad's training;
Going out to hunt for dinner with Little Rex;
Checking up on Obi-wan and Alpha-17 and then having dinner with them;
Retiring for the night after preparing for the next day.
Cody is, in many ways, satisfied. He's got a job, a social life and even a hobby of sorts. It's not the life of a soldier, but it at least feels a little more normal than what he thought he'd get after he'd been experimented on. Or rather, it makes HIM feel normal. And he wants that more than anything else in the galaxy. Wants things to make sense again.
Being the Empire's size-shifting lab rat shook him enough that he'd rather pretend everything is fine and dandy, so long as he has a means to maintain the illusion. So long as no one else finds out.
But life sure ain't fair, and neither are Tatooine's bustling population of womp rats... The massiff squad keeps them away from Cody's cave, but not even they can handle all those sneaky rodents.
One bite is all it really takes to ruin someone's day.

There's no point in fretting over a womp rat bite. That's what Cody tells himself after cleaning the wound to the best of his ability, and then bandaging it up with the medical supplies Seventeen insisted he take to the cave (because big strong giant or not, you never really know, you know?).
It's just a teeny tiny bite from an equally teeny tiny rat. What harm could it possibly do to him? He was engineered to not be deterred by most diseases, and the Empire's experiments have greatly boosted his endurance to the point not even a small ship or great big desert beast would be able to take him down. It'll be fine.
It's not fine. Cody wakes up feeling a little off-kilter.
He knows something isn't quite right with himself, but he can't put his finger on it. It's a little hard to think. The massiffs know something's wrong as well, since they are staring at him with obvious concern in their beady little eyes. Even so the once proud marshal commander of the GAR chooses to not worry about it. He has a routine to adhere to and he refuses to shirk any of his duties. Never once had he the need to call in sick, and he's not starting now. The fruit stall won't look after itself.
Abuela knows he's sick the moment she sees Cody.
He doesn't say anything, just helps set up the stall and tends to it, but she can tell he's a little green around the gills and ready to collapse into a heap at any moment. She closes up shop early and drags him to her home to look after him. She recognizes the signs of gray rot and it doesn't take her long to find the bandaged bite wound. He's lucky that she knew what to look for, this plague can only be treated in the first few days of infection. It will still be a painfully slow recovery, especially if he's already experiencing a high fever.
She calls for a medic to get the medication for her and remembers that Cody is friends with Old Ben, so she requests someone bring him to her home since she doesn't know where Cody lives nor if he has someone who can look after him. Midway through her diligent duties, she notices her patient is looking a little larger than when she first lay him down on her guest cot.
It must be a trick of the eyes... After all, her vision isn't what it used to be. Abuela has been told many a times that she's no spring chicken anymore, a statement that has earned many a rude young men a wack to the shins with her cane. But no, the more she watches the feverish lad laying in the guest bed, the larger he seems to be. Worse yet, the delirium is setting in and Cody is having a hard time staying comfortable when the bed he's laying in is becoming progressively smaller for him.
She's fascinated more than she's afraid.
Abuela has seen things in her own time that boggle the mind. Things most would be unable to explain in either basic or her own mother tongue. A human man growing in his restless sleep is hardly that strange, especially with all the recent rumors of a giant gray beast out and about. Sure enough, when his clothes begin to rip apart at the seam, she can see some kind of a gray undersuit beneath.
The stories do have a lick of truth to them, but she suspects a lot of it is embellishments because she can't see Cody as the violent sort (it just doesn't seem like him at all). The one big question she's asking herself now is just how large is the poor lad going to get, and how much medicine will she actually need to help him recover?
After all, Abuela couldn't possibly let the man she'd started to see as a son go without proper treatment...

Would Cody ever change size if Luke was in danger?
He would as a last resort.
Cody is a protector by nature. His priorities are often very focused and organized due to his training (which makes some people think he's a bit of a stoic and bland stickler for the rules with little to no personality or emotions), but there's no denying he cares deeply for the safety of others. Especially if he's grown fond of them, like with Obi-wan, his vode, Luke, the Lars, his massiff squad and Abuela.
If Luke were in any form of danger Cody would know to trust everyone else involved in his protection to keep him safe. Both uncle Owen and aunt Beru are the first lines of defense (these two fought an inquisitor dead set on revenge and are not to be underestimated), with Obi-wan (and by extension Alpha-17) as the second line of defense (and those two still got that fighting spirit and synergy that bulldozed through Ventress's schemes).
If the danger can outmatch two seasoned moisture farmers used to the harshness of Tatooine, as well as a Jedi and an Alpha-Class trooper both veterans of the war and equal levels of insane, then it really is time to bring out the "big guns" if you will. Even if it means revealing himself completely.
Luckily the kid, while a bit rebellious at times, knows better than to really go out looking for real danger. Luke's a smart cookie even if sometimes he does dumb things.

After the close call in Anchorhead when he came down with Gray Rot, Cody is much more cautious with his health and how it may affect his size-shifting. It wouldn't do well to slip up again, and he really doesn't want to cause any unnecessary destruction just because he threw caution to the wind again.
The experience did show him that he can trust Abuela however, something which he's very grateful for. Obi-wan, Alpha-17 and Luke have been a great support system (Luke brightens his day by just being his joyful and occasionally snippy self, which is still a very important thing since it boosts morale), they can't always cover for him. Abuela being in the know at least gives him someone who knows about his condition while he's away from home.
The only con is that he's back to thinking about his brothers who are still under the hold of the Empire, and how much he wishes he could help them. Maybe it's about time he started thinking about more than trying to make a life for himself. Maybe he should start thinking about freeing the brothers working in Imperial outposts on Tatooine...

Last Line Challenge
Rules: in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or as many as you feel like).
Tagged by @chiliger , thanks!
His ability is not an envy-worthy one. Not something anyone should want to kill for either. It makes Dogma sick and a little angry whenever his brothers naively assume it is.
This is from a Dogma-centric G/T drabble I quickly jotted down yesterday, when inspiration for some angst suddenly struck. I am considering fleshing it out further and posting it, despite the more depressing and body-horror approach this one took (I usually resort to more comical forms of size shifting).
No pressure tags (literally just flipped a coin): @milfcutlawquane @stormyblue90 and @totes-tubulardude
