TNA Wrestling
iMPACT!
February 15th 2024
Following her suspect victory over Xia Brookside last week, Tasha Steelz was rewarded with an opportunity to challenge for the TNA Digital Media Championship. A match suggested by the current champion, Tenille Dashwood. Clearly, it was done with the sole intention of further annoying Tessa Blanchard who, despite her near flawless record in recent months, has been told to earn a shot instead.
Eager not to let such an opportunity go to waste, Steelz uses every cheap tactic she can think of but is matched every step of the way by her opponent. At one stage both women were simply trading eye pokes until the referee treathened to disqualify both and throw the match out. Suddenly, Steelz started playing by the rules as she knows a disqualification means Dashwood retains the championship.
Dashwood had no such reservations and continued to bend the rules until she gained enough of an advantage to resume her recent and successful gameplan of targeting the head and neck of her opponents. Having perfected several different methods of finishing opponents once the damage is done, nobody has been able to successfully counter them all as of yet. Steelz would be no different as the Australian would once again break out a new finishing sequence, this time dazing Steelz with an elbow smash to the back of the head before following up with the stump piledriver for the three count and another successful defense.
Having learnt her lesson the last time, Dashwood foregoes any celebration and instead turns her attention to the entryway in the nick of time as Tessa Blanchard was already on route. Blanchard stops dead in her tracks once she realizes the sneak attack has failed. A confidant Dashwood invites Blanchard to try it face to face, but suddenly the eagerness is gone. Instead, Blanchard slowly climbs onto the apron, only to smirk.
Understandably confused by the sudden confidence change, it takes Dashwood a couple of seconds to realize she walked right into the trap. Out of the corner of her eye, Dashwood spots movement and turns to find she has quickly been surrounded by Indi Hartwell and Chelsea Green, with Blanchard completing the trap. No matter what route she takes, Dashwood will have at least two Diamonds to tackle, the third only seconds behind.
Knowing the odds are heavily against her, Dashwood shakes her head at a smirking Blanchard before turning and quickly taking the first shot at Hartwell. Dashwood turns to try and land a second blow on Green but it’s already too late. Both Green and Blanchard are on her and are soon joined by Hartwell as the three on one ambush takes over. Hartwell soon connects with a big boot, followed by Green hitting the Unprettier but the Diamonds aren’t finished yet. Instead, Blanchard hits the final blow with a hammerlock DDT to ensure the champion is down and out.
Safe in the knowledge that Dashwood won’t be able to fight back, Blanchard gets herself a mic and arrogantly places a boot on the face of Dashwood before literally speaking down to her. “Look Tenille, all your friends are rushing to help you!” Blanchard mockingly points to the empty entrance ramp where absolutely nobody is coming to help Dashwood. Having spent the past eight months alienating herself from everybody, it’s little surprise that she has no back up without Deonna Purrazzo in the locker room these days.
“You said last week that I needed to earn a shot at your Digital Media Championship? Well, I spoke to my good friend Gail Kim and she signed off on a match. At No Surrender, it’s going to be a six person tag. On one side, is myself, Indi and Chelsea. On the other side, is you and two partners of your choosing. You wanna know the best part? Even when, not if, but when you can’t find anybody to team with you, it will simply become a three on one match instead, as approved by Gail Kim. When the Diamonds inevitably win that match, I get my long overdue title match! Regardless of how much you complain about it. Good luck loser, you’ll need it!”
Blanchard smugly drops the mic onto Dashwood before finally removing her boot from the Australian’s face having made sure to get her message across. Even then, Blanchard still takes the chance to once again pose with Dashwood’s Digital Media championship before eventually departing the ring, leaving Dashwood in a bad way and potentially facing a three on one match in a little over a weeks time.
