The Guardian reviewed Zayn’s Manchester show; like the Telegraph they also gave him 3 stars and also mention Harry in comparison.

“Still, Malik remains an introverted performer. Unlike the cantering presence of former bandmate Harry Styles, he mostly spends the set unmoving, sequestered behind a protective semi-circle of stage monitors, only stepping back to take sips from a cup of tea. He sings mostly with his eyes closed, gripping the mic stand like his life depends on it. Even when the music seems to call for the sway of hips or the shuffle of feet, as in the bar-room swagger of Dreamin or the shimmering groove of Bordersz, Malik is hesitant, as if afraid of embarrassing himself. “You enjoying it?” he asks with uncertainty. When the crowd responds with screams, he seems relieved: “That’s good.”

They are right, he is an introverted performer, so you can’t really compare him to Harry. I think it’s sweet though, the almost shy way he presents himself on stage. Getting back on there, alone, must be hard especially after all the anxiety he’s dealt with and so soon after Liam’s death. Let’s not forget the funeral wasn’t even a week ago. I’m sure he’s still grieving.

Let me share a few things.

Sings in tune without in-ears by the way (he really should wear them for noise protection). He’s not listening to— or lip syncing— any track. It’s just him and the band.

Zayn’s assistant Taryn gave two older fans at the front of the audience signed items from Zayn in Leeds.

Zayn seems to be able to get fans to donate to charity without using it as a tax write-off.

Pretty incredible for someone who doesn’t canter or sway when the critic wants him to, eh?

Afraid of embarrassing himself? Zayn might have crowd anxiety, but he is rock solid on the capability of his voice. Zayn doesn’t need to be compared to anyone.

Look at me, finishing another book already! Here's my (not spoiler free!) thoughts on The Bridge Kingdom 🏝✨

It took me a while to get into, personally. Maybe I'm just used to things being a little more grand. You know, magic, dragons, fae, all that jazz, but everything seemed decidedly...boring.

Although, maybe that's just this book in particular? It felt a little predictable really, there were no twists, turns, plotlines that were a surprise at all. Obviously that letters was going to be sent, obviously Maralyn? Mary Lynn? (I audiobook'd it, my bad) was going to come back to haunt her, obviously her father was the true bad guy. I didn't see the part about those attacks being on purpose coming (the locations being obvious) and all that, but I did pick the wine/ruby/etc situation so...🤷‍♀️

I couldn't seem to picture the setting properly in my head, either. At one point I was picturing jungle and the next I was picturing tropical beach vacay island vibes and like I know those two things are not mutually exclusive, obviously, but like? I don't know, my inner visuals couldn't get a hold on it for some reason 😂

I liked the characters! Annoyed as fuck she went and killed off my favourite ones though, was that necessary? RIP Eli and Taryn, you will be missed 💀 At least we'll still have Jor.

A side note: whenever I heard Taryn and Lia mentioned together I giggled. Because Tairn. Lía.

But I did enjoy Lara and Aren in the end, even if they were kind of predictable and boring...and Lara seemed kind of dumb—though we'll give her the benefit of the doubt, given her upbringing. I hate that she trusted her father AT ALL though, let alone for so long while proof was staring her in the face, like??? Girl??? He was ready to kill you for no reason??? Babe pls 💀

It was easy listening, which was nice for once given I'm coming off Crescent City, which is decidedly not tune out material...unless it's a sex scene 💀😉

Since it's free, I'll definitely start The Traitor Queen at least and see how it goes, since I'd like to find out more about the other sisters anyway 😌

The reason I see gai as the werewolf is bc kakashi is the dog man lol so his partner being dog-like makes complete sense to me. He is already so in tune w gai and his dogs, a dog/wolf gai would only make their insanely close bond closer!!! Kakashi has always been running a the wolves, not his beefy boyf is one too

I can definitely see this. Kakashi is a big softie for dogs. He would so try adding another hound to his pack of eight because there is absolutely no such thing as 'too many dogs' XD

which just becomes awkward when his cool new fluffy doggo ends up turning into a hunky man at some point. Like, sir? This is not what I signed up for???

But Gai is friendly and determined to keep his new friend, and Kakashi's not about to kick him to the curb. So what if he's only a doggo once a month? He's awesome (even if Kakashi will rarely say that out loud XD)

“Hello!” came a cheery, but distinctly inhuman voice. “You have reached the Edansa Embassy answering spirit. Due to increased call volume, it may be some time before your call is answered. If you know your party’s extension, please state it now.”

Rinnie let out a slow, pained breath. She’d been given a list of extensions upon coming to Berthingtonn. They were in a notebook somewhere in her trunk. She hadn’t paid attention to it.

Taryn had probably known every damn extension. Her heart panged with anguish.

“You are number eighty-three in the queue,” the spiritech continued. “Estimated wait time is less than four hours. Your call will be answered in the order in which it is received. You may state an extension at any time.”

A tinny musical tune began playing.

Steviss gaped and sank into his appropriated chair. He rallied quickly though. “Sir, you have to understand, this war is different from the war you fought, and we have nowhere near the forces you commanded at the Battle of…”

“Say one more word, boy, and I will pull those stars off your shoulders and shove them up your incompetent ass. From what I hear, the only reason I’m not shooting Nidtrins out of my dearly departed wife’s rose garden is because some Schmiedish Marine Captain had more than two brain cells to rub together and managed to cobble together an actual plan to hold them off.” The Field Marshall glared at the Corps General. “So, I’m going to take my command and you’re going to shut the fuck up unless I ask you specific questions. Understand?”

“Yes, Sir.”

The Field Marshal looked around the room. “All you other fucksticks, get back to work until the King gets here, and someone find me that fucking Marine. If he’s alive, I want to talk to him.”

Adler looked at Killian, who was smirking to himself.
