more inside jokes and characters!! @castiels-destiny
part four? of making a tribute poster to the universe of a bunch of roleplays i did 2020-23
I changed the banner with the title to a scroll because they were important in Creature School
I drew a “plot dragon” (something i coined for how eggs would drop out of nowhere in the Creature School rp, like a stork carrying a baby except a dragon with an egg) and eggs dropping down the sky lol
then i have added Angel, Taqqiq, Aura, and Blizzard!!
I had zero clue how to draw the rest of Angel as I only had the head as a reference
and Blizzard is tiny lol she was a tiny powerful version of Aura
Harpy and Talon will be behind Aura
I fucked up with Raptor’s placement as I was supposed to put her next to Quint but oh well, she’ll be on the right end, or behind Qunt and Angel with Jack
maybe Kauket (Wildcat’s cousin) will be at the right end, as the only representation of the very short rp of Kauket and Ace
also while rereading Raptor met Quint because they were bunkmates and she remembers him snoring lmao, and she knows Halfmask from saving him on a mission (not for the Light Tribe)
#blizz's art#CS&Co.!#Taqqiq!!!#Halfmask!!!#Wildcat!!!#also another reason why i didnt know how to draw angel was…. the photo my friend used he had clothes and stuff#(we met in a furry server)#a lot of the extended universe of Creature School characters are anthropomorphic#but i cant draw that sooo

What's a moonbabes headcanon or prompt you've been wanting to talk about but haven't gotten the chance to yet?
I’ve been plagued by ideas of what Fanny and Rachel were like before the canon of the show takes place. We briefly see some of their dynamics before Rachel became the supreme leader at the end of Op Fugitive. But I’ve wanted to go more in-depth about when they were cadets or just becoming the characters we know now.
Look, I’m a sucker for ‘fell first, fell harder’ types, so in my head, Rachel actually had a crush on Fanny first. It developed during their cadet days while Fanny only started developing a crush on Rachel when she became a Decom operative. It’s painfully obvious to nearly everyone that Fanny has a crush on Rachel even though Fanny tries to ignore and hide it. However, Rachel never realises this. One time Rachel opens up about her crush on Fanny to Herbie and he’s like “fucking finally” but then she says something along the lines of “I don’t think Fanny feels the same way though and I don’t want to ruin our friendship :/” and it takes all of Herbie’s will power to not yell at her. In fact, I don’t think they’d even confess to each other during their time as operatives and they’d only begin being romantic with each other when they’re teenagers.
A more dramatic idea I have is that their friendship started to strain around the time Fanny joined the Decom squad. I have a separate idea that being in the Decom squad is a ‘taboo’ thing for most of the KND for various reasons, and I might do something about it some other time. So, when Fanny joined the Decom squad, she tried to hide it from Rachel for a while. Obviously, she couldn’t keep it hidden forever, and when Rachel found out she was extremely confused and felt a bit betrayed. After a while, Rachel began to resent the Decom squad as a whole and blamed it on why Fanny started to become the way she is now. Rachel grew out of this resentment after she became higher in the global command and started to fully understand the Decom squad’s purpose, and fully let go of it once she became supreme leader, but a part of her still blames it for how Fanny turned out. Fanny, on the other hand, knew Rachel felt let down when she joined the Decom squad, and she tried really hard to make it up to them. Fanny felt all the resentment and believed it was targeted at her. This, plus her developing crush on Rachel and her becoming a more aggravated person in general, caused Fanny to believe that Rachel didn’t like her as a friend anymore. Even when Rachel began to mature, Fanny still felt unwanted and became more desperate to prove herself to Rachel.
And on the topic of headcanons, have this little thing I drew a while ago and never posted

Finally came up with a design for Taqqiq (the cat alien in upper right box) that I’m happy with so now I can post this :3 The image I used for Yildiz (lower right box) is a doodle that I think really captures the essence of them and the vibes I’m going for with her character (it’s hard to explain, but she’s supposed to draw power from the Unknown, which has warped her body to change depending on who is perceiving her)
Pronouns for the four:
Ishara (top left)- he/they/(she? Maybe she)
Taqqiq(top right)- he/it
Saanvi(bottom left)- she/they
Yildiz(bottom right)- any pronouns (for now? Pronoun preference may become part of their character growth by choosing an identity rather than let others make assumptions and choose for them. Yildiz has a lot of identity issues your Honor)
#them <3#traditional art#watercolor#my ocs#my art#[title pending] oc story#Taqqiq is going to force me to actually get good at drawing cats#still putting the pieces together for this story but I’m noticing trends of identity issues and taking control of your life#and being fearful of the future#what do characters do out of their anxieties for the future? do they confront the unknown? embrace it? fight it? freeze and let whatever-#happens happen? put it off or run from it?#and I have a general taste for the end where our characters walk towards the future#still uncertain and/or afraid but willing to give it a shot knowing they have support from others#(not having to do things alone)#yeah#oc Ishara#oc Taqqiq#oc Saanvi#oc Yildiz#none of them have last names yet because I haven’t been bothered to figure last names out yet#it was hard enough finding first names that tasted right :((

Aagjuuk the Entrail-Stealer [Inuit mythology]
In an earlier post, I talked about Taqqiq, the benevolent lunar spirit from native Inuit religion. Whenever a person dies, it is Taqqiq who guides them to the afterlife. Though he is a powerful and important spirit, he is not the sole inhabitant of the Earth’s moon. When Taqqiq is guiding a soul, they are greeted by Aagjuuk, also called Ululijarnaat or Aukjuk. This enigmatic spirit resembles an old woman and some versions claim that she is Taqqiq’s cousin. She always carries an ulu knife (a traditional Inuk tool for cutting ropes, hair etc.) and a copper pot.
Aagjuuk puts on a kind and friendly façade, but in reality she is a cruel and vicious monster. She will attempt to make the visitor laugh, but this is a test, and the soul must remain absolutely emotionless. If the victim so much as giggles, she will slice open their stomach with her ulu knife and then collect their innards with her copper pot. She then devours the victim’s entrails. Because of this, this spirit is fittingly called the ‘entrail-stealer’.
An Angakkuq (an Inuit shaman) could also converse with Aagjuuk through a special spirit-summoning ceremony, something like a séance. But this was a dangerous practise, for the entrail-stealer would then attempt to make the shaman laugh. If she succeeded, she would open the shaman and steal their entrails, just like she does with victims in the afterlife.
Oosten argues that it is also a symbolic thing: a hunter who does not manage to restrain or control himself will eventually become food for something else.

saw something that unfortunately reminded me how widespread this idea was, so here is a refresher:
masculine sun and feminine moon symbolism is not universal across human cultures, not even within a given continent or subcontinent.
feminine solar* deities or deity-like figures include: Amaterasu (Japanese), Arinniti (Hittite), Eki (Basque), Mārīcī (Buddhism), Saulė (Baltic), Shapash (Canaanite), Siqiniq (Inuit), Sól/Sunna (Norse/Germanic), Tokapcup-kamuy (Ainu), Yhi (Kamilaroi), and in Egypt alone you've got Bastet, Hathor, Raet, Sekhmet....
masculine lunar deities or deity-like figures include: Bahloo (Kamilaroi) Chandra (Hindu), Kunnecup-kamuy (Ainu), Máni (Norse), Mėnulis/Mēness (Baltic), Nanna/Sīn (Mesopotamian), Taqqiq (inuit), Tēcciztēcatl (Aztec), Tsukuyomi (Japan), Yarikh (Amorite/Ugaritic) and again with Egypt there's Iah, Khonsu, Thoth....
*not including the huge number of dawn goddesses across regions descended from proto-indo-european cultures
(representations throughout history and across regions vary; several of these deities have been represented as both male and female or left ambiguous/androgynous, but i went with their most common identification in the present day)

more oc art from my instagram cause why not, maybe I'll redraw them someday
Feb 2022 vs June 2023 Taqqiq art progression, she's a fox, made her look less wolf like lmfao and changed some stuff
She thinks of Aura as like a father figure or mentor
Her name means moon and snow on ice :) definitely did not steal it from Seekers, though I might actually change it
Talon x 2 and Harpy
They were experimented on and had to escape from the lab
Aura knows them (well he was visiting the mortal realm and like found them, he HATES humans so he symphasizes with them and helped them escape)
Talon is a wolf and has robotic parts and wings
Harpy is... A harpy wolf
They got genetically modified
Older art of Halfmask
I did put the other art of him in the other art dump but hes friends with Aura
He has heterochromia and (pseudo) chimera
He was a fully white wolf but uhhhh
So there's these tribes/factions on elements in their world, like Light, Dark, Fire, Water, etc
Hes a spy for the Light faction and went over to The Shadow Tribe, (dark elemental) pledged his allegience and had to undergo some sort of ritual, but only half his body was effected because they recognized his potential
They all know each other and are friends, Taqqiq was a pup when she was found by Aura (....her parents were killed by wolves)
#blizz's art#Aura!!!#ocs#Halfmask!!!#Taqqiq!!!#Talon!!!#Harpy!!!#uhhh taqqiqs story is VERY complicated because shes the oc i created for the roleplay i was in#very very very long roleplay#tooooo many characters and ocs i threw in there too#these were all made on sketchpad

So, because I have no chill I've already started a new WIP :)
in search of glorious happenings of happenstance -
summary: Azula always lies. That's the mantra Zuko knows, but what exactly is his sister keeping to herself & why when she shows up at Ember Island University claiming to have reinvented herself? Something is off about the new Azula. She's a different girl alright, & she's suddenly best friends with Zuko's shady but intriguing drug dealer, Jet. Which Zuko is totally fine with. Katara was excited to finally join her big brother Sokka at college, with her mind laser-focused on education. But Katara's new friend, party girl & Sorority president Suki Arya is making that impossible - not to mention some unplanned romantic detours that get in the way of studying. Sokka's idea to bolster his popularity & school involvement in an attempt to keep up with his powerhouse little sister by trying out for the football team goes a little too well. He suddenly finds himself in the middle of a feud between Suki & her archrival, the beautiful but intimidating Yue Taqqiq. Rivalries, friendships, romances, & complicated family relationships develop & change over the course of the school year at Ember Island University as a group of young adults learn to better understand themselves & each other.
pairings: there is lots of drama, hookups, & doomed romances but the main / endgame pairings are Azula/Katara, Zuko/Jet, Sokka/Suki/Yue, & Mai/Ty Lee.

Love that Kallik defends Ujurak from her (most definitely transphobic) brother, Taqqiq.
"'And we definitely don't belong with freaky shape-changing bears who might not even be bears at all.' 'Ujurak has the heart and spirit of a bear!' Kallik protested. 'As much as any of us, if not more.'" (Pg. 87)

Taqqiq, the moon spirit [Inuit mythology]
Ever-present in the night sky, the moon plays a central role in countless folktales and myths from around the world. In native Inuit religion, the moon is inhabited by an Inua (supernatural spirit) named Taqqiq, which literally means ‘moon’. This enigmatic but benevolent creature watches over humanity and is responsible for guiding the souls of the dead to the afterlife. He once was a mortal man, and his transformation into the moon spirit is the subject of several different stories. Details differ, but a common version has it that he lusted after his own sister, Siqiniq. According to one tale, he made his advances at night, when it was too dark for her to recognize him. But Siqiniq was clever and smeared her body with black soot. The next morning, she saw Taqqiq’s face was blackened with soot and realized that it had been him. He chased her and she fled into the heavens and turned into the sun spirit.
Taqqiq, still chasing after her, followed his sister into the sky and eventually became the moon spirit, ironically reflecting his sister’s fate. He deeply regrets his actions and tries to make up for them. Perhaps because of this, he is said to sometimes descend to the Earth when women are abused and then saves them. Sometimes, he takes them back with him to the moon, where they live happily as Taqqiq takes care of them.
His outfit is made with gorgeous white fur, and Taqqiq himself is said to be particularly handsome. In some stories, he is said to travel with a troupe of dogs. It is unclear to me where these dogs came from, but they are particularly powerful and large.
The moon spirit is also associated with the hunt: the Polar Inuit believe Taqqiq brought wild animals to the world of the living so that humans could hunt and eat (hunters would sometimes offer prayers to thank him), and in the belief of the Inuit of Baffin Island, these animals are specifically mentioned to be caribou and seals. Iglulik Inuit believe that Taqqiq would bestow good fortune on seal hunters, whereas the people from eastern Greenland believe him to bless whale hunters. Taqqiq is often depicted with his signature whip, which he uses to hit young boys, as it is his role as a spirit to harden them into strong hunters. While this is a harsh (and presumably very traumatic) way to teach a kid a lesson, Taqqiq is regarded as a protector of young boys and defender of the weak.
