Sometimes I just want to be wrapped in wires, struggling but o ly getting more tangled up in them like wired headphones you left in your pocket.
Until I’m completely restrained and at the mercy of my computer. Which decided to give me small electrical kisses all over my body.
Making me jump and twitch with every single one.

Tangled Up In You
by Christina Lauren
A witty and deeply romantic modern reimagining of Disney’s Tangled, by the New York Times bestselling author duo Christina Lauren, part of the acclaimed and bestselling Meant to Be collection.
She has a dream. He has a plan. Together they’ll take a leap of faith.
Ren has never held an iPhone, googled the answer to a question, or followed a crush on social media. What she has done: Read a book or two, or three (okay, hundreds). Taught herself to paint. Built a working wind power system from scratch. But for all the books she’s read, Ren has never found one that’s taught a woman raised on a homestead and off the grid for most of her twenty-two years how to live in the real world. So when she finally achieves her lifelong dream of attending Corona College, it feels like her life is finally beginning.
Fitz has the rest of his life mapped out: Graduate from Corona at the top of his class, get his criminal record wiped clean, and pass himself off as the rich, handsome player everyone thinks he is. He’s a few short months from checking off step one of his plans when Ren Gylden, with her cascading blonde hair and encyclopedic brain, crashes into his life, and for the first time Fitz’s plan is in jeopardy.
But a simple assignment in their immunology seminar changes the course of both their lives, and suddenly they’re thrown out of the frying pan and into the fire on a road trip that will lead them in the most unexpected directions. Out on the open road, the world somehow shifts, and the unlikely pair realize that, maybe, the key to the dreams they’ve both been chasing have been sitting next to them the whole time.

Quick note! Just finished this novel and won’t lie. The whole time I was picturing Chris Evans playing the role of Steve/Adam in the movie version of this book. However, when I discovered the ages, I don’t think it would fit into present day Steve, but maybe seeing him play “young” Adam.
Again, it’s insane how obsessed I am about a movie version of this book!!! AHHHHHH!

Tangled Up in You Can’t Translate the Disney Magic to the Page
This official modern reimagining of Disney's Tangled comes up short.
Hyperion Avenue The story of Rapunzel has seen its share of adaptations over the years. Marissa Meyer’s Cress and Disney’s Tangled are the two that immediately come to mind, and while they’re both stellar in their own ways, one is a sci-fi reimagining and the other is a film that, while having modern comedy elements, is still firmly placed in a nondescript “historical” fantasy universe. I hadn’t…

So yesterday I went out and stopped at a bookstore. Wasn't really sure what I wanted, just kind of browsed. I picked up one book and decided "Should probably stick to just getting one new one, I got a few I haven't finished or even started back home."
I turn around, and see another book I wanted to get because I saw it mentioned on Instagram and was like "...... or maybe two-"
Anyway, the trip itself isn't what I wanted to talk about. It's the second book I saw.
I'm not finished yet but "Tangled Up in You" is becoming a favorite of mine. I already love Tangled so I obviously had to pick up it's modern day retelling.
Then I found out it's part of a series. Stand alone though so nothing is getting spoiled, don't worry.
And that the first book is a modern Cinderella retelling..... and she's plus sized-
So I'm definitely gonna buy that and read it soon because I cannot just go on with my life without reading a book about a plus sized girl getting the guy when I'm plus sized myself-

Because Rapunzel and Flynn Rider’s story is one of my all-time favorites, I worried about how the Meant to Be series would approach it. Powers don’t exist; we’re in the real world, so what’s the story here? How is it going to feel honest yet warm when the story’s narrative is relatively dark? And of all the ways that the adaptation could’ve gone, Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren is nothing short of brilliant—warm, clever, sharp, deeply soft, and wholeheartedly vulnerable in a way that had me sobbing during the entirety of the last few chapters.
The impeccable duo are at their best in this Disney adaption, showing off their creative chops with some of the most gorgeously lyrical and page-turning writing I’ve read in years. While the beginning took a beat to adjust to, it’s indescribably incredible once we hit the road with the main characters, and the best romance tropes make their way onto the page.
