The person with autism currently hyperfixating on Barbie was absolutely the correct person for my grandmother to ask to solve the mystery of what her childhood doll was. All she remembered about her was that 1) she wasn't a Barbie, because Barbies were expensive when there were eight kids at home, and 2) she remembered calling the doll Teresa, but was unsure if that was a brand name or just the personal name she gave the doll.

I said, "if we find the outfit, we'll find the doll" and I was right. This is a Tressy wearing her "Black Magic" outfit. My grandmother's sister on the left is holding a Tammy doll who appears to be wearing a Tressy "Sophisticated Lady" dress.

I’ve been waiting 2 years for an affordable listing for this outfit, and three weeks for it to arrive after some Complications, and it was so worth the wait! She’s so cute! I want a me-sized version of this outfit. I want a me-sized version of all the Tammy outfits. It’s a Pizza Party outfit, but I think she looks like a jester.

I kind of want to get a second Tammy so one can always wear the blue outfit and the other can always wear the jester outfit. Maybe if I come across one at the thrift store or something.

Thrifting on a Monday! Finally encountered one of those generic pig heads in the wild. I find them quite ugly but curiosity overcame good sense so here we are with her outside soaking in some acetone for now. I scrubbed her 30min with rubbing alcohol first (SO GRUBBY) and that paint barely budged. Sure hope the acetone takes it off during the shrinking.

Ok this other doll says UNIQUE on the back of her head, so a Tammy clone? But her hair is short so maybe not Calico Lassie? Can't seem to spot one like her on eBay, but the term "unique" is a hard bitch to search with as it turns up allll the weirdness.

Her clothes are completely hand sewn (and knit for the socks), and I found the teeniest hemmed hanky in her dressing gown pocket too 🥹
