This was something that was definately on my list to redo in Afterglow, but I had been putting off just down to the sheer amount of items that would need recolouring... but now my texture defaults are done, I may as well tackle my Nihongami style kit!

Ultimatley most of the information is the same as my Pooklet texture version. To save you downloading both versions, I've included all of the non-hair texture accessories in the zip, too. Remember to pick one mesh for the Long Yue bun, the original mesh, or the edited mesh that works better with the shimada hairstyle. The only new thing really is that I made a second alpha edit of the Rose hime bangs that are shorter than the original alpha, but they don't clash and you can have both. All hairpieces are in the five Afterglow naturals in seperate labelled packages. The original bodyshop previews have the details of the different mesh variations so here are those:

you can see in the banner preview that there's a lot of ways to arrange these together, and I have a few more on display in the original post! I was watching Blue Eye Samurai a while ago, and there's a lot of shimada inspiration there, the animators took care to give the characters varying shapes and styles, so the variety is really cool to see ^^

Then I made some recolours of the base hair, the Goze Traditional Shimada. @letomills has an odd ability to intuit what I want without even asking, and made an edited version of the mesh which works better with hairlines, which is really something that disspointed me with the original mesh, so those are the meshes included! I made 3 variations on the alpha; the first is the 'original' shimada; with the shibori and the tama kanzashi. This time I made the decision to edit out the odd coin shaped kanzashi as I can't say I'm entireley sure what it was ment to be, and it was just getting in the way of nice and authentic looking styles. I also added a shibori texture to the shibori because... why was there a shibori tie with no shibori in the first place? The second alpha is the flowers one, I made the same pink and blue versions as in Leto's edit. the last is my plain, no accessories shimada, which is just hair with no extra accessories to be layered with a variety of hairpieces or just worn by itself! Lastly I thought it'd be good to do the male hairstyle that Hriveresse converted from the same pack, so I fought the mapping of traditional sumo (and the mapping won, it's horrid) to accompany the F hairs. Shimada is 3638 poly, sumo is 4048, all versions come in the original Afterglow family binned into one package each, meshes in the zips, fully compressorized.

Episode 1081! Fun and solid episode all around, with a bit of a movie quality to it. The festival montage at the beginning is very cute, the animation was weighty for grand moments, fluid & swift during the action, and snappy and cheery for scenes of characters at the festival.

The Barto clips were silly, and I like how the scenes which transition into the fight give a moment to each of those going, though not to those who aren't. Solid set up for the next few episodes to highlight Kiku being absent here. Kin? He was away in Kuri, probably fell asleep on Tsuru's lap.

Need to give mention this festival-going girl. Dark blue hair, red ribbon, floral kimono. Think she styled herself after Kiku? I hope so!

Awww, sumo and ninja pals raising a toast. Kawamatsu is on point, Oden would be happy about this and want them to enjoy it. Much how Izo would want Kiku to enjoy the party with the Straw Hats, as his words in episode 1063/chapter 1036 make clear.

This! This is the Inu-chan and Neko-chan dynamic I love! Neko pounding down a ton of food and drink while Inu is slightly surprised at Neko's intensity in spite of knowing the cat for his entire life, it's so them. Very glad it made its way into the episode. Shino-chan handing out candy apples is also very sweet.

Even while relaxing, Denjiro effortlessly exudes swagger. He has internalized the stylin' pompadour, in spite of him no longer wearing it.

The slight rearranging of scenes worked well and was thoughtfully done. Having the episode end with the big Shanks declaration hits just right, and goes way harder than the chapter ending with Akainu.

Every time Raise begins playing, it lifts my spirits. I love it so much.

I like what I'm seeing in the preview for 1082. I like it a lot. Nami and lil sis Tama, Kokeshi dolls, Robin and Law being history nerds. Good stuff.

In an alternate timeline where Nami and Sanji encounter Kiku in chapter 913, after meeting Otama, and go through the same general story beats up through 918 as Luffy and Zoro did with Kiku, how do you see that playing out?

Once again we have a good one I needed to ponder then it got lost in the shuffle. First off, you remember the G8 filler where Sanji has the cook-off? I'd love to see that idea of turning scraps to gourmet pop up again. Or at least complementing Tsuru/Kiku's ability to make something of the leftovers. Sanji witnessing Tama's story first hand would be so powerful. And of course Nami is instantly smitten with the lil cutie.

The Sumo showdown is interesting. Because I can't see Sanji/Nami letting it go the same way. Or at least that dynamic is interesting. I think people underestimate how strong Urashima is because you don't really get a good read on Kiku until later. Luffy was still fucking with the guy trying to make a show of following sumo rules but my interpretation of the Far Bank Slap was the "bubble" was actually him using Ryuo and Luffy still needed a G3 slap to send him packing. I'm not saying Sanji couldn't beat him, and Kiku always could, but it doesn't get the same spectacle. Also, would Sanji play along the same way? Nami would probably get it...but you also have to consider Sanji being his horndog self off the bat might put Kiku off a lot more. Going straight from one pushy suitor to another.

With Sanji though, what if he pulls Soba Mask here? The Bakura Town scene is a time it'd be really helpful. Same with some of Nami's skills like Mirage Tempo. There's a decent amount of time en route they're riding on Komachiyo to plan. This is a way better trio for a stealth mission. Could they just lie? Sanji plays it like he's brought two cuties to "entertain" Holdem? Everything would go a lot faster if that worked.

From there? I guess Kiku would want to follow them up to the castle? Nami won't let that one go the same way Luffy did. And I don't see her leaving Tama the same way. They also probably wouldn't pull the whole Robin Hood angle. Especially when Sanji has the challenge of making something out of the scraps.

Tamalog Day 11

When everyone woke up at 7AM, i fed Picochutchi some Roast Beef and Kuchipatchi some Hamburguer (one of his favorites!), Himetchi was doing alright so when the others were ready i called the Sitter for everyone so i could get some sleep.

At 1PM, i woke up, got myself ready for work and went on to have something to eat, while i was eating, Himetchi asked me to make an album and i was like "an album? neat! lets do it." and after selecting the pictures i saw this really long and heartbreaking animation of them saying like "thanks for everything" and getting on the Tama Spaceship, then they go to the Tama Planet and look at the Album and START CRYING WHILE THE PHOTOS YOU SELECTED SHOW UP ON SCREEN. After that they'll give you a new egg for you to take care of but man, that really affected me, i wasn't expecting that today, they just had to make it more bitter than sweet, huh? Well, that's why i love Tamagotchi, they matter so much to me and are the cutest and most interesting things in the world for me.

Anyways, we got a baby boy, and after taking good care of him for a bit, he turned into a Fuyofuyotchi, which is one of the cutest Tamas i've ever seen. He ate a lot through the afternoon and even had some of the Sponge Cakes i made with Himetchi, we didn't play yet, but Depagatchi did come into the house and danced a little with Fuyofuyotchi, which again, was kinda confusing but really cute. Kuchipatchi ate a lot of burguers today, but hey, it's his favorite food so he doesn't care, keeping him happy is pretty easy also, but that does not mean i'll just forget about him, as i make sure that if i check on one Tama i shall also check on the others too. Picochutchi and i spent a lot of the afternoon together, as i did go out today and brought her with me to do some Tama Searching which was a big success, we got so many tier 2 and tier 3 stickers and met some new Tamas too, one of my favorite things to do on the Uni is Tama Seaching for sure. I could also use the Tama Walk but i think i would want to complete my Sticker album before doing the full care icon run for the Tama Walk icon.

At night much of nothing happened, i just checked on Fuyofuyotchi, and he was doing great so i just left him to his 'being cute' business, Picochutchi and i went to the TamaVerse for the Tama Arena event and we had basically the same performance as yesterday, just one flag to completely put us down into 3rd place, but i'm sure she had some fun doing it as much as i did. We were also versing two Lionetchi so i guess we can say we got beat by children, and they were surfing good alright. After that i fed her some of that good ol' Sumo Style Hot Pot, which she loves, and got her social media picture of the day. Kuchipachi was the last one i checked on, and he was doing fine, so i gave him some pets to raise the fondness meter a bit and then just waited for him to go to bed, which he did, so i helped him fall asleep and even though Picochutchi was still awake, i didn't want to bother her, as we did spend a lot of time together today, so she might be tired of seeing me, lol.

And with that we finished our Tama Day, and oh boy was it an emotional day, i thought the Uni's farewell was pretty sad and bittersweet, but seeing Himetchi go kinda broke my heart. I hope i can keep whoever Fuyofuyotchi turns out to be for a bit more time this time, and i shall miss Himetchi greatly even though i know she is doing fine. Kinda makes me afraid of what type of goodbyes are in the other systems...well, we shall know when we are done with one of these devices, only then i shall buy a new Tama. 1. Santai dan Nikmati!

Otot yang tegang dapat menjadi musuhmu. Hal ini dapat melemahkan dan melambatkan pukulan serta tendanganmu, serta membuatmu cepat kehabisan napas selama latihan. Oleh karena itu, santailah secara harfiah. Penting untuk teknik yang baik. Latihanlah melempar pukulan dan tendangan dengan tubuh yang benar-benar rileks, hanya menegang sebelum benar-benar menyentuh sasaran. Lakukan shadowboxing dengan fokus pada relaksasi anggota tubuh dan bahu. Semakin sering dilakukan, semakin otomatis hal tersebut akan menjadi. 2. Berlatih secara Teratur (di Rumah).

3. Bertinju Banyak.

Don't say it enough. I love Luffy's and Kiku's friendship. He thinks she is one of the coolest people he's ever met because she rebels against jerks like the sumo in Bakura Town, Kaido, and anyone in between who is being generally unkind, ignores the jeers of petty onlookers while rescuing Tama, and says cool lines while doing it.

I've been waiting for this one all week. After playing Wano's supposedly "rushed" ending completely straight, only padding out some small amounts when all signs pointed to a decent opportunity for quality filler, we have one additional entry. Next week will likely be a straight retelling of Chapter 1057 and I bet they'll play up the theatrical tone whiplash like they've done everything else. Note like the rest of the arc, Kiku gets some of the rare extra love and I'm counting highlighting the field of flowers for her absent fight.

So...what will we get here? A filler episode likely won't be wildly altering the story. We're clearly using Tama and the samurai sans Momo & Kin. Baseline very happy to see this because even if it's just filling in goodbyes that's a very worthwhile filler. But we do have the peculiarities around Kiku. By now we've seen OP Academy pull the same trick with her & Yamato. The anime has leaned into a lot of the scenes we highlight with her and really between that first fight with Kanjuro and the beautiful extra flashback she got the most sweetening in the Raid. So I'm damn sure curious seeing the teahouse sneak into this.

Otsuru likely did not build an entire new teahouse, we just saw last episode Okobore was razed and she wanted to go back to life in the Capitol. The preview makes it look like we may jump around a lot. But if we're fabricating an entire teahouse at the end...why wouldn't I ponder having a little fun with the Poster Girl? Here's my guess. Without saying it directly, that scene with Zoro & Hiyori? We're going to suspiciously cut to it right when all signs point to something significant between Luffy and his sumo buddy. Filler episode's not gonna give you too much, but one more big example of the classic trick is bang on for what we've seen.

Tamalog Day 10

At 7AM as per usual, i just speedran calling the Sitter for everyone so i could go to sleep, and sadly that's where i am at right now, i need the Sitter taking care of them while i sleep since my sleep schedule is all messed up and i can do much of nothing to change it. But hey, the Sitters are helping, and they also did help today.

Waking up at 1:30PM, i went on to eat "breakfast" and picked up everyone from the Sitter while getting myself ready for work. Picochutchi wasn't hungry but was a little upset, so we played a bit at the Arcade and i gave her some Canelé, which is one of her favorite snacks, so that cheered her up right away. Himetchi was asking me for two hearts that were side by side, and i was honestly confused and scared that it was something serious, but it turned out that she wanted me to help her decór heart glasses, which we did and she turned out very happy with that, i'm glad she liked them. After that we went to the restaurant and she ate some pizza for lunch, i also tried feeding her a bagel but she straight up hated it and didn't wanna eat it, the poor thing. I couldn't give Kuchipatchi any attention since my Smart was low on battery, so i just had to wait until i got home to charge it, luckily he was still House-sitting, so it wasn't a problem anyway.

At work, since it's winter here, it was pretty uneventful and slow so i could take some time to explore both on the Pix and also on the Uni, we got some stickers with some friends, both level 2 and level 3 stickers, but sadly didn't meet anyone new today, no problem tho, we're in no rush for completion. On the Pix tho we met someone knew, Pukkutchi, which was pretty cute and even danced with Himetchi, after that we cooked a meal that consisted of Luna the Tabby Cat and Paulie Gualtieri from The Sopranos, which they turned into a Cake :D pretty cute. A bit later Nazotchi came in ringing the door bell, and Himetchi answered, so i was confused cuz generally Nazotchi is the one that delivers some items, but this time he just came inside the house, danced around with Himetchi and went away? o.O what? i am still confused, but hey, it was pretty cute. I love these little interactions and events they have kinda randomly occur, i am still even trying to get the ghost to appear in the Uni's living room cuz i just find it so cool and interesting to see these events happen.

At evening, i was feeling pretty tired, and laid down to take a nap, just before falling asleep, Himetchi asked me to go to the Arcade, which we did and we played a match of Football, where we did good. Being sleepy kinda hinders my absolutely matrix like abilities to help Himetchi hit those shots on the goal, but hey, no biggie. I made sure anybody else wanted anything, fed Picochutchi some sumo style hot pot and Kuchipachi ate some steak and cheese dog and only then i fell asleep, just to wake up at 10PM, the end of our Tama Day. Since i took a nap i couldn't play at today's Tama Arena match, but no problem. What matters is that we had fun. See you tomorrow <3

Neko’s brought me to my lover: Japan

It was nearing the hour where the cherry blossoms would be in full bloom when they were touched by the gentle beams of sunlight. That was precisely why you had come to Japan in the first place. The brisk morning air that was fresh from the open Eastern sea. It was forever shrouded in mystery. A black and white cat that had tranquil earthly brown eyes was perched on a high telephone pole. It looked out onto the morning sky that was in between the twilight of dusk and dawn. Sunbeams were beginning to eat away at the indigo barrier that was decorated with spots of silver. The illuminated void sensed that there was about to be a major shift in reality and he was ready for the transformation that was on the horizon.

However Tama wondered if his human companion Kiku was ready. He never seemed to be and at times disliked changes and tended to have adverse reactions to them. It was going to take the right person to bring the hermit out of his shell.

A vibrant pink petal was blown from a tree and gently drifted into the open air and found it’s way onto Kiku’s porcelain like skin awakening him. His eyes flutter open, and his expression is mixed between sleep, curiosity, and a pinch of dread that made his heart rate speed up.

“Mew.” Tama stared at his owner in silence.

“Right today’s the day to set New Year's goals and hope to achieve them.” He begins to rise out of bed trying to stretch his tired limbs and wake them from their slumber. He hears a dreaded loud crack that could have caused an earthquake. The sound had emitted from his lower back. It released a fissure of pain on him.

“Rrrrrr.” Tama walks over to Kiku’s shrunken form and puts his paw on his back, to lend support. Albeit in a somewhat patronizing way.

“Gor get herp prease Tama, if you do I’ll get you tuna for dinner every night for a month.” The cat looked like he had just been struck by love and his soul took flight for tuna heaven. He was determined to have his precious tuna. The cat then ninja catted his way up the fence to get help for his injured owner. As Tama ran, the wind picked up it’s pace and some of the early morning blossoms became butterflies that fluttered off into the mild morning wind. Some of the petals flew into Y/N’s bedroom window. A lead triage nurse in the central city of Tokyo, Japan. Tama decided it was best to go where those blossoms blew. He scaled the vine covered wooden wall that led to your open balcony window.

Tama rushed into your tidy room and punched on your stomach like a sumo wrestler preparing for another round. Needless to say your lifeless body jolted awake. You were scared for a moment until your eyes landed on the cat that had caused the early morning disturbance. The cat's eyes stared directly into your soul to deliver an urgent message. They cast an ethereal glare over you that held a bright amber’s glow.

“A messenger.” You say after a few moments of taking in the cats visage. Tama nods his head and point towards your door.

“Alright cat I’ll follow you.”

It leads you to a house that is nearby. Your ears picked up a steady stream of groans that got clearer and could make out that it was a man's voice.

“Hello?” You step in cautiously as not to spook him and only yo make him aware of your presence.

“Oh are you here to save me?”

“Yes, I am. Your cute cat led me here. Nurse (nickname coworkers gave you about your best trait. Hahah kidding I’m nurse y/n.”

‘Hahah. Tama. I see what’s happening now. You started a romantic comedy type plot. Well played cat. Well played.’ He thinks to himself as his body goes limp from food poisoning.
