NASCAR Arcade Rush Review Pros:
- Decent graphics. - 5.5GB download size. - 1000 Gamerscore. - Racing gameplay. - Officially licensed game. - Performance mode - on/off. - Tutorial text pops up on your first solo race. - Customizable vehicle and driver. - Three game modes - solo, split-screen, and online. - Help menu lists controls and mechanics. - Solo has three modes - cup series, quick race, and time attack. - Arcade presentation and controls. - Two difficulties - elite and rookie. - Emote shortcuts in the d-pad. - You have nitro, drive over yellow pads to get a bit back, or drive into the pits to refill it fully. - Full camera control so you can see behind and all around. - Speed boost strips. - Instant restart at the last checkpoint button. - Earn EXP and level up to get rewards. - Pre-race flyover. - Quick race lets you pick any track and race. - Podium sequence at the end of a race. - Cars are just cosmetic so you can drive any you like rather than the fastest. - The split-screen mode has two game types - cup series and quick race. - EXP is dished out upon your race position. - 13 cars to unlock. - Male/female avatar choices. - 14 driver helmets to unlock. - Car customisation options - wheel trail, emotes, number, number font style, spoiler, wheels, stickers, and car body. - 12 locations - Talladega Super Speedway, Watkins Glen International, Richmond Raceway, Phoenix Raceway, Martinsville Raceway, Michigan International Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Homestead Miami Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Daytona International Speedway, Chicago Street Race weekend, and Next Gen in California. - Nine cups to unlock, you get points from your final position in a race. - The rivals system is where you fight with someone by you or them bashing into you a lot, if you then beat them, you get bonus EXP. - Indicators show for opponents coming up behind you. NASCAR Arcade Rush Review Cons: - Initial unskippable intro video. - The intro video looks really low-resolution and blurry. - Not the best loading times. - The text is small but also kind of blurry in places. - Cannot rebind controls. - Only one camera view of your car. - The handling is so light and twitchy corners are a nightmare. - Hard to see the track ahead. - Cheap AI tactics. - Slow restart loading time. - The rewards are quite boring, it's a lot of emotes and helmets for a driver you only see at the end of a race. - For a game about speed, there are more elements that slow you down rather than speed you up. - The pit lane is just hitting a line to refill your nitro but you are on a limited speed during it. - Respawning is nearly always a case of being put at the back of the pack. - Touching a wall in any way nearly stops you dead, grass stops you dead, hitting other cars slows you right down. - All the cars are just cosmetic. - Every menu has like two or three too many clicks, backing out of a mode has you going back over every menu. - You cannot edit any race events like laps. - A lot of the time it's almost a pinball game that has you bounce off cars and walls continuously. - You get hardly any EXP in time trials. - No online leaderboards. - You can only pick 1 to 16 for your car number. - It's not as fun to play as you would like. - Each race location is just the one-track layout and not the alternatives. NASCAR in the News, but maybe not in a good way
After searching through several different news pages and news sites which included the Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and, The New York Times, NASCAR is being talked about because of the up coming NEXT GEN racecar they are going to use in 2022 season. I have found that the Wall Street Journal has the most current up to date news on NASCAR as they have lots of news articles on the 2022 season and the NEXT GEN car. The New York Times also has some great articles and news from last year which will go great with my topic and possibly great for some free post down the line. The Wall Street Journal and some of the other news sources I looked through had information on my topic that was older, however that will work great for my topic because I am doing the history of NASCAR so I will need some older articles to read through to get some information for future blog posts.
One current topic that is still going on in NASCAR happened last year. Last year on October 2nd, at Talladega Super Speedway, Brandon Brown recorded his first win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. After the race the fans were going crazy and started chanting the slogan “Let’s Go Brandon”. However, the crowd was not chanting for Brandon, infact, the crowd was chanting “Fuck Joe Biden”. To try to cover it up, Jamie Little a NASCAR sports analysts said that they were chanting for Brandon, but that is not the case.
The New York Times and the Washington Post covered this very well in regards to the whole situation. In The New York Times article about Brandon Brown, there was not any bias from what I could tell. In The York Times Article on the situation, Brandon Brown stated that “I have zero desire to be involved in politics”. The New York Times just covered what they heard without leaning towards the liberal side or the conservative side.
The article from the Washington Post was a different story. I could easily tell that throughout the article the author and the Washington Post was against the slogan “Let’s Go Brandon”. Brandon Brown was even shut down by NASCAR and the NASCAR community when he wanted to race a red, white and blue colored car with LGBcoin on it as a sponsor. I did not find an article on the New York Times about NASCAR not allowing Brandon to run his polictical paint scheme, but the Washington Post covered it with no hesitation. I feel like the Washington Post is more liberal leaning but that could just what I read and saw.
As for the “Let’s Go Brandon Chant”, it is not really heard in NASCAR as much anymore. One of the reasons why I believe the chant became popular is because NASCAR has a large fanbase of blue collar workers, and a large part of that group from my experience tend to always vote republican, so they adopted that chant in a way to promote their political believes.
Both News sources are very credible in that lots of people get information from these news sources on a daily basis. Yes, they might not be the most reliable when it comes to sports news, but never the less The New York Times and the Washington Post can be trusted.
It is cool to see that different news sources have different perspectives on issues like this because it gives you more information on certain topics like this. Yes, it may divide people in some cases but it can lead to some great research if you put bias aside.
youtube
(Alt text: Below is Brandon Brown’s interview from his first win on October 2nd.) (Youtube) The video above shows Brandon Brown with Jamie Little after his first win. If you listen to the crowd in the back, you can tell that they are not cheering for Brandon.

Don’t know if y’all know this, but Bubba Wallace - the NASCAR driver that got the c*nfederate flag banned at NASCAR events and raced in a BLM car a few weeks ago - found a noose in his stall at Talladega Super Speedway in Alabama last night. The FBI and others are investigating, but all of the other 38 racers and their teams got together and pushed his race car to the front of pit road to stand in solidarity with him.
And I think that’s beautiful.

Track and Throttle Tuesdays: The First One is The Sweetest
Track and Throttle Tuesdays: The First One is The Sweetest
NASCAR once again made it to the monster that is Talladega Super Speedway for the 2nd restrictor plate race of the season. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started on the pole and Dale Jr. was on the outside to begin a race at the track famous for high speeds, steep banking, clustered racing, little breaking, and an almost guaranteed wreck known as “the big one” that collect anywhere between 1/4 to 1/2 of the…

Beautiful Attractions And Places To Visit In Alabama
Alabama is known as the "Heart of Dixie," and it's simple to see why when you visit. Alabama places to visit will enchant you, and the location will astound you with a variety of things to view.
Battleship Memorial Park is located in Mobile, Alabama. Visitors can observe the USS Alabama, a battleship, and the USS Drum, a submarine, as well as a variety of other aircraft and tanks, at this location.
DeSoto Caverns Park is one of the Places To Visit In Alabama. It has a height of 12 stories and is the biggest cave in Alabama. There are a ton of rides, attractions, and things to do in the park. The park is classified as a Wacky Family Attraction on Oprah's website.
Talladega is home to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame Museum for racing lovers. The Budweiser rocket car, the first vehicle to break the speed of sound, originates from this region. Naturally, this area is home to the Talladega Super Speedway, which is the place to be when there is a race.
A moving homage to those who lost their lives defending civil rights, the Civil Rights Memorial is a black granite table with the names of those who gave their lives inscribed on it. The memorial's core is hollow, and water pours out over the table. One is urged to touch the names and linger out of respect at this very moving monument. Maya Lin, who also created the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, created the Memorial.
Montgomery's Old Alabama Town is a step back in time. Over 40 rebuilt buildings, including an old-time pub and a drug shop, are arranged along six blocks. There are several dwellings among the structures, which date to the 1800s. Many of the houses included separate kitchens and slave quarters from the main residence.
Shorter, Alabama is a place that few people have ever heard of, but if you're in the mood to gamble, it's one of the best Alabama Attractions you may go to. Your arrival is anticipated at the Oasis Hotel and Victory Land Casino. The casino offers gaming around-the-clock in addition to simulcasts of dog and horse races.
These are some fantastic locations to visit in Alabama by Visiting Montgomery.

NASCAR’s Huge Advancement of Technology is the 1950s and 1960s
NASCAR started to see its first huge technological advancements in the 1950s and 1960s. According to Time Toast.com and their NASCAR timeline, NASCAR received its first major sponsorship in 1950. The sponsorship was NASH Motor Company. Nash Motor Company put a lot of time and effort into the sport of NASCAR and even gave payouts at some races if you won a race. Later on in 1950 on September 4th, the first even 500 mile NASCAR race ran at Darlington Raceway. In 1952 NASCAR took a major step in that The Pure Oil Company specifically started to make tires for NASCAR which was the first part specifically made for racing. Later on in 1952, the introduction of the radio came into play. The radio allowed for the driver to communicate with his Crew Chief about strategy and how the team planned to run the race. In 1959, Lee Petty was crowned the first ever Daytona Champion driving in the number 42 car.
The 1960s’ was even bigger for NASCAR and made the industry as we know it today. In 1961, the first ever NASCAR race was televised for two hours. In 1963, Wendell Scott became the first African American stock car driver in NASCAR. Race teams also started to build their own engines which made the car go a lot faster making you win more races. In 1969, NASCAR built the first ever Super Speedway named New International Speedway, now called Talladega Super Speedway.
After these two decades, NASCAR really took off and gained a ton of public interest. NASCAR became a wide spread sport not only in the southern parts of the United States but throughout the whole country.

Looks like we finally have a name to that rookie Doc flipped over at Thomasville, Leroy Hemings. I imagine Leroy probably dominated the Piston Cup circuit after Doc's departure until one day, much like Lightning McQueen, he's leading a race with a few laps to go when he hears a loud "MEEP MEEP!" behind him right before a bright blue Plymouth Superbird rockets past for the win.
GUYS. DO YOU GET IT? LEROY “HEMI”NGS. HE’S FASTER ‘CAUSE HE’S GOT THAT NEW HEMI ENGINE. OH, PIXAR, YOU SUBTLE THING, YOU. I’M ON TO YOU.
Right, anyhow. You’ve signed up for Fun Fast Facts with Em! This service cannot be unsubscribed from, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!
The ‘54/’55 Chrysler 300s were the top of their field back in the day, as we know. However, their top speed out on the circuit was only about 130 miles an hour (and when I say ‘only’, remember, this is on dirt so that’s pretty freaking fast). With the muscle car wars starting in the ‘60s, it’s unlikely the 300s survived more than a handful of years as the fastest things out there. Such is life. As Brick’s sponsor says “All sports change.” and racing changes rather quickly.
Now fast forward to ‘69 and ‘70. Chrysler’s “winged warrior” aero cars make their debut. The Dodge Daytona is the first car to break 200 mph on the circuit (in Talladega). The Daytonas and the Superbirds dominate those seasons. By this time they’re racing on asphalt super speedways like we see today for the most part.
Anywho, TL;DR, there’s no feasible way these two cars ever competed with each other in real life. The technology between times was just too far apart for that to make sense.
THAT BEING SAID. I ACTUALLY LOVE THIS HC.
Ignoring real life parallels, I actually think this is a hilarious idea. Why? Because it’s basically accepted that Strip’s generation was the ‘next-gens’ of their time. So the parallel holds true that Strip was to Leroy what Jackson was to McQueen (minus the attitude and trust issues, mind you).
But what really gets me? The fact that if this headcanon were true, it would imply Strip never got rid of his factory Road Runner horn, and actually used to use it on the track. And that, my friend, is why I am sitting over here laughing, yearning for canon material on young rookie Strip Weathers.
