Hello, I am thinking too much about this lately. I think big hit is choosing “couples” to show to the fandom (fanservice?) This “couples” are jikook and taejin and me being a taejin shipper I think that maybe this is bc they want to stop the vkook or namjin thing. What do you think about this?

A marketing strategy regarding the pairings really exist in the entertainment business. We have to understand BTS are a global brand and they have people behind the scenes creating their images, people who are aware of the social media buzz and who are responsible to give the fandom what the fandom wants. This is not something wrong to do, it is just how effective product placement works in any marketing field. 

There is a youth and vitality in Ji’kook that feels very refreshing and sweet. 

Ji’kook was a clever replacement as the Jungkook ship. Ji’kook is here to stay as THE BTS ship. The new placements of pushed ships happened very organically when Taehyung and Jin’s relationship suddenly intensified in 2016. Jungkook is a focal point in BTS so it is only natural that his ship will always be THE BTS ship. Jimin has one of the biggest value as an idol in the k-pop world so, put their pristine and cute personalities together and you create a social media treasure. This is their first year in the most shipped couples on Tumblr and they are already in 5th place, right behind the highly successful Dan and Phil. So there you have it, you don’t have to be a marketing genius to realize they are a profitable duo to BH. 

Taejin, no such thing as bros.

I don’t think Taejin is being pushed by BH since Taejin is not for fan service purposes and there is an understanding about their need for privacy. On the contrary, all the BTS boys are very keen to respect and protect Taejin as they can, BH also avoids any Taejin push. Let’s not forget BH mysteriously ‘forgot’ to promo their song, so no push for them! Taejin is not on any ‘most shipped couple’ list like several of other BTS ships despite Taehyung’s massive idol value and Jin’s entertainment brilliance. Taejin, if they were bros, could easily being promo as a pop ship…but they are not bros and can’t really behave bromantically to save their lives. We will never have a Taejin Vlive, you know why? Cause they cannot do bro-like banter or push their own ship without feeling self-conscious. When they try to be a little carefree, they act like on Run, with V telling the four corners of the world about how important for him Jin’s custom made gift was and Jin literally said he’d wear Taehyung’s gift to show everybody he’d trend as the ‘best boyfriend’! These two mutually attracted dorky princes turn everything the do into a chemistry charged 18+ passionate k-drama!

Sope are that coolest duo we all aspire to be.

The good case of a push ship that is indeed a genuine ship is SOPE/Yoonseok. These two have found a way to be a strong ship, a subunit and a creative force. The matching tracksuit, the super domestic vlives, the tsukare song, the not so subtle SOPE hints everywhere, the effortless self promo. They are past beyond the Ji’kook fresh flirt and Taejin’s ultra passionate chemistry, Sope are like longtime partners in crime, just having a blast. Charming, effective and so cool.

While Kookie and V show no nostalgia about their pushed bromance days, Nam’jin has been erased almost completely. Namjoon and Jin really get along but there is this very obvious gap happening between them after Taejin’s relationship shift. Part of me gets relief of Jin’s image being rebuild away from the ‘Namjoon’s wife’ and ‘BTS’s mom’ stigmas but I wish there could be a way to Namjoon and Jin coexist as a bromance without Jin being misrepresented. Taehyung himself is getting closer to Joonie with the song, vlives and stuff but there is something about the dynamics between Jinnie and Joonie, the long convos and the adult mutual respect that will be missed. I do think we will have a Nam’jin revival in Bon Voyage 3 though.

So Taejin does not have the Ji’kook flirty freshness and Sope’s stablished easiness to self promo and Taejin are pretty keen to keep their lives to themselves. And Taejin does not need to replace V’kook or Nam’jin, since Kookie and Joonie respectfully have chosen to give Taehyung and Jin some space, after the change in Taejin’s dynamics.

Once more, just cause a duo is pushed it doesn’t mean it is not genuine or that the members don’t appreciate the other people outside their ships. It is about targeting a specific audience for professional purposes, it’s about supply a demand. The promo ships have their own obligations and entertaining goals, but it doesn’t affect how BTS interact with each other outside of the public eye.

Well I’m no expert on any ship other than Taejin but I have my thoughts on the ships I sail. So basically this pic is all I really ship:

TAEJIN

Cause there is no room for doubt anymore right? These are love birds, passionate lovers, two souls in one Jin handmade crafty heart, love angsty slow burn, love sick, Montecchio and Capulet (fanfic writers, you’re welcome) kind of secretly married couple. Taejin will stop at nothing to prove they are the ultimate ship, like in the world. Exaggerations apart, they know that you know that everybody knows and tell their friends and pets that Taejin is a bless.

SOPE

I think it’s undeniable how precious and special Yoonseok aka SOPE really is. They just belong together and are truly love goals for me. They act like a longtime married couple and true sincere best friends at the same time, this is the kind of relationship I’d love to have.

Their relationship is so stablished that on many times Suga only looks at Hope in the eyes while he talks even when everybody is around them. Hope talks about Suga all the time, it’s no secret they are each other’s faves. Unlike Taejin, there is no awkwardness between them, no emotional tension or need to subtle the interaction. They are so comfortable around each other and creative soulmates. I love them deeply, they are so goals. If you ask me, I think Suga plays both fields cause he goes for the personality and affinity other than gender or attraction and he is the loyal kind of person who stays with the same person for a long time. I believe Hopey is no straight, he is super comfortable on his own flamboyant skin to be confused or undecided, despite his bright personality of all the boys he is the most emotionally mature and reliable when it comes to love. Like Suga he wants a person by his side that he could rely on and laugh and fight and annoy and love.

Sope is their own subunit and both Suga and Hope are independent, private and adult enough to don’t be that influenced by how Taejin’s relationship changed the dynamics, they are doing their own thing. I feel like in the band Suga and Hope are like loving grandparents ya know, sage people you go for counselling or comfort. If they are dating or just really close besties it’s their business but part of me thinks that two people so good together should be together. Forever. And ever...

Jikook

I know Kookie ships are such a big deal and Kookie ship shippers are passionate (just like Tae’s ones) and our Golden Kid is so loved by his boys but, Jikook is something. At first I believed Jimin would be forever infatuated with Kookie just like Tae was with Jin. Like true unrequited love. The way Jimin looks at Kookie, how he acts around him is so heart eyes, I dunno if he even realizes. But recently I think they have been closer than ever.

After BV2 I realised V and Jin’s relationship probably made Jikook closer cause both Jimin and Kookie were very ‘dependent’ on Vmin and Vkook. I realised that on the Taejikook episode, how happy Jimin and Kookie were to spend some time with V and how distant V was. I don’t think he meant to feel like that, it’s just that when we are dating we wanna be with our partner, esp in V’s case since it was a Namjin bromance day and we all saw how he got affected by that. So Jimin and Kookie are closer cause V is now superglued on Jin’s shoulders.

I don’t think Jikook are together. I think they are really young and neither have really figured out what they want. Jimin fights his crush cause he is a bit afraid esp after witnessing all the years and years V suffered before he and Jin finally got their tense situation figured. If Jimin is V’s confident I’m sure he was there for all that Taejin angst we saw on last year’s BV and so on. Jimin’s loving nature, he could fall in love with either a boy or a girl, he is a people’s person and often talks about having a family but also admires men in this “take care of me” way that is too cute to deny. On the other hand Kookie’s character and personality was deeply influenced by Jin, he is easy going but very strict on himself, he is aware of his responsibilities as an idol. And like Jin, I think Kookie is fluid when it comes to relationships and genders. He’d indulge his curiosity with bravery but could also settle for the common idol path, find a gal and marry her.

I’d say Jimin dreams about a future where he is married and all but deep down the only emotional attachment he knows is towards Kookie. Jungkook pretends he doesn’t consider giving in to temptation with Jimin cause deep down thinks he will someday marry a girl and do what’s expected. They are in that cross road.

There are many parallels between Taejin and Jikook, the difference is that Taejin is really desperate for each other, Jin and V are passionate men who think with their hearts, their thing was never just a crush, curiosity or lack of outside affection, Taejin are a love choice. Jikook is softer and shy, Kookie is often lost in thoughts and Jimin is deeply emotional. Maybe these two will overcome the crush and curiosity and be true best friends, maybe they will both fall for other people and Jimin’s crush will fade away but maybe just like Taejin, they will place their hearts on each other. Now is too early to tell.

Namjoonie

Oh sorry Namjoon + the boys shippers, but for me Rap Monster is straight. Being a Jin crazy fan has exposed me to loads of Namjin push, but I legit see nothing but RM’s extreme courtesy, respect and friendship towards Jin. Of course they know Namjin is highly popular so both act adorably in giving the fandom what they want, they all love each other and care about each other but we don’t see RM and Jin going on secret dates or physically expressing possessiveness and having to subdue the passion like Taejin. 

I also don’t think he is that worried about Taejin Sope or Jikook, he cares as a leader, but he stays out of their business cause he trusts them. As Suga, RM is a private person who needs his own space to deal with all the important responsibilities on his shoulders. My veredict, Namjoon is straight and yep please Universe give this fine sexy man a Rap Monstrette to walk the earth by his side. I volunteer...

Oh i’m quite confused with the nature of your message. Perhaps you are mistaken this blog with someone else’s?

I am not promoting any ship. This is a support blog and I don’t talk about Jikook simply cause this is not the aim of this blog. This blog doesn’t suit your preference but I’m sure you can find loads of Jikook blogs out there more suitable than mine. Jikook is a highly celebrated ship way more popular than Taejin, and you can find amazing sources else where. 

Not talking about Jikook but Kpop in general: I am sorry that you find too distressing to see fan service as a positive thing. Perhaps you should see it as a part of BTS’s business and kpop culture. There is absolutely nothing wrong with pairings delivering fan service for the enjoyment of the fandom and certainly understanding it as so, it is not a reason to send oppressive or judgemental input to other people (if that was the aim of your message).

Twitter feedback

You lovely ones always say loads of people talk about Taejin on Twitter so I went there. On my searchings I came across people talking about Taejin Chronicles. I was genuinely surprised and humbled that I was even mentioned. Thank you so much for the lovely ones that read my blog and for the positive feedback even on Twitter. I really appreciate it.

Also learned there is a star rating system on Tumblr blogs?! I had no idea! Is that for real? LOL I dunno anything about apps or ratings. If that is so, thank you so much for the voters to make Taejin Chronicles a 4 star blog! I am humbled and touched by your love. If this is not accurate and I am making a fool of myself, HA it was a good dream, even if this is a 1 star blog, I treasure it!

But I also came across with some (thankfully rare) confusing negativity about the content I create so let’s address the criticism and reson to their comments with a respectful approach. I’ll do my best to try to understand them and learn from the feedback. 

PS: this is more of a personal file to deal with negativity about my blog then a general post, so feel free to skip this one if you want!

1. The Taejin shipper who thinks I am delusional and discredit BTS

I think is totally fine to dislike this blog, even when they are a Taejin account with many followers. But I’m not sure if that person has read my posts at all, my readers do know I have never discredited BTS. On the contrary I am deeply keen to celebrate BTS’s relationship and often talk about the importance of don’t be judgemental or incite ship-wars. It is distressing when someone make such claim about my blog when I am so adamant about the importance of respecting all members of BTS. I literally make posts every week about treating people with kindness and respect so these types of indiscriminate assumptions have no racional explanation. I’m sorry that these two people believe that I am ‘delusional’ and I hope their many Taejin followers on Twitter don’t agree with their unjustified view of my posts. 

Also the fact this post was made on Jin and my bday, I have spent that entire day defending Taehyung and the MK Line from negativity from people who believed he didn’t respect Jin, so it makes me even more sad to be portrayed as someone who discredits BTS’s relationships.

2. The lawsuit Jikook blog

A lawsuit threat from a Ji+Kook (Jimin bias?) shipper account? I am sincerely confused. This is not a Ji+Kook (ship or debunk) blog, I rarely talk about Jimin so I cannot tell what have I done to be accused with a lawsuit from a Ji+Kook shipper. If there is something I can do to address this situation in a positive manner, please let me know. But if these are unjustified words with a harmful meaning, then I am sorry you feel displeased with my respectful content about BTS and Taejin, and I sincerely hope you are feeling better.

3. Nothing good there

LOL this is actually a kinda funny plot twist HA! Thank you for the constructing criticism, I’m not sure I can rise up to your standards or expectations. Again, it is totally fine to find my blog ‘nothing good’ and I’m sorry for wasting your time.

I never go on Twitter and to be honest I am a little afraid to go there again after today lol. But I think it is important to address feedback, even if it is negative and it is even more important to clear up misunderstandings, especially when people that do it have a big following. I hope that people who make gratuitous negative posts about others can understand how the other part can be harmed when being misjudged and hopefully think about others with compassion and empathy before putting out there uncorroborated criticism. Everybody is fighting a battle and we don’t know how negative words can injure others, therefore let’s all remember to treat people with kindness.

solo stan leave the fandom you think jikook friendship is fan service

Sorry, but I cannot support messages such as yours. 

Why would you demand me or anyone to leave BTS’s fandom? Why would you think it is your right to tell someone to stop supporting BTS? Would you think BTS, a band that spreads love and respect would agree with you sending other fans rude messages in their name?

And why are you saying I think Jikook is fan service and I am a solo stan? This is a Taejin support (and BTS) blog and on contrary to many ‘ship’ blogs out here who are SOLO STANS who spread hate to other BTS members and ugly comments that fragment BTS as a band, in Taejin Chronicles there is no space for prejudice, disrespect or judgement about Jikook, any other ship, any BTS member or people in general. It is clear to all my followers and for me as a person that I support all members of BTS.

So I don’t quite agree with your demand for me to leave BTS’s fandom. I have never said Jikook is fan service, nor have any inclination to validate or debunk Jikook or any other ship. As I keep saying over and over again, everyone is free to believe and support whatever they want by understanding that all ships can coexist peacefully. Respect has been the ongoing message of this blog and aggressive messages such as yours are a shame to any fandom. 

Last but not least, this blog has always been adamant about respect all BTS’s members and never engage hate towards BTS. Any reader of this blog’s content can easily understand my message of respecting Jin, Suga, RM, J-Hope, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook, and most importantly of respecting other people. A message of positivity, you sadly do not seem inclined to embrace. So let me encourage you.

It would be a good thing for you to stop the hate and bullying, try to treat people with respect and kindness. It would do wonders to your own well-being and it could change your life for the better.

Unrelated to Taejin, what do you think of the Jikook theories about Tae’s Vlive in Osaka? Mimi BTS Ghost in particular, I find them convincing but I also don’t think of Jikook romantically as I do with Taejin, but I trust your insight so that’s why I’m asking you. I understand that this isn’t a ship debunking account, but this is a rumor that keeps me up at night and I need someone to confirm this that isn’t a Jikook shipper. Thanks 🙏

Hey there ‘Ji+kook theories’ anon,

To be honest this being a Taejin support blog and not a ‘ship’ blog, I don’t follow Ji+kook theorists or actually any BTS shipper theory blog (being Taejin or not) so I really have no idea what this theory is about. Therefore I have no deep knowledge to give an analysis, sorry. But on the ‘shipping’ situation these big blogs are creating, my advice to you honey is that each person must read the ‘theories’ and really think for themselves if that makes sense or not. 

Many of you love my psychological eye and behaviour analysis of Taejin exactly because I don’t push them as ‘real’, label them or go ‘OMG I know the truth’ or ‘they exist, BOOM proof they are real’ or ‘look my ship is real, yours is fake’. The type of content I provide in this blog has nothing to do with the hysteria of shipping and everything to do with the respect I have for Jin and Taehyung’s relationship and I guess this is why so many people who love other parings often come here asking for analysis. I’m not sure if I can help you with Ji+kook but I think I can talk about how to have an analytical eye that probably can be applied to any pairing.

I dunno what this theory is all about but generically speaking, I really don’t think people should read any theory and trust it blindly, especially if is not like psychologically explained. Again I do not read ship theories but from what I have seen in the past, a part of this fandom really really really want to label the boys into something they think is true, being that romantic ships or an hetero-normative push, instead of celebrating a pairing without any agenda and respecting their privacy. Some blogs are so obsessed with this or that is ‘real’ or labeling celebrities sexuality and it can make people such as yourself feel stressed and anxious about their idols. If you see a blog with a pushy need to label a relationship and it bothers you, perhaps try to distance yourself from blogs that create that type of content and focus on ones that celebrate that pairing in a more positive and light-hearted way.

As for Ji+kook, I think there is a huge part of the fandom who truly believe they are ‘real’ and devote a lot of energy to see them from that perspective. The fact big accounts (youtube, twitter and tumblr) support those theories makes it an easy transition to the huge amount of BTS new fans to embrace that as true, it used to be the same with V+Kook and Nam+Jin in the past, big accounts made ‘analysis’ about this or that pairing being ‘real’. And that’s ok I guess cause ya know, everybody is free to believe or ship whatever make them happy. But seeing things from your own perspective instead of others can be a more valuable to your experience as a fan. Cause in the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if a massive army blog says about a pairing because, really there is no right answer to this. Labeling someone or a relationship is pointless. The only way to know for sure is when that person/pairing say ‘We are a couple’.

Despite of my personal knowledge about Jimin and Jungkook’s dynamics, I have no public input on Ji+kook. I think they are adorable and a key pairing to BTS as a group and a brand, but I prefer to exclude myself from the Ji+kook narrative in order to avoid the judgemental eye that comes along when one is rational instead of hysterical about a pairing. The last thing I want is to lead people in a certain direction especially when I already got out-of-the-blue accusations from Ji+kook ‘fans’ for the simple fact I don’t focus on them and once did a rational BTS all pairings analysis about fan-service that did not corroborate (or debunked really) their Ji+kook ship theories. 

My advice to you to separate fan-expectations from facts: people often confuse fan-service, brotherhood or even BTS public personas as a true proof of a romantic involvement. For example in the hypothetical scenario of Taejin making and uploading on BTS’s official channel their vacay trip together, that would NOT be a proof they are dating, this is WORK and positive fan-service created for the fandom, and not their private lives. This doesn’t mean they are not friends or are fake, this is just being rational about the difference between private life and public life. If Taejin had uploaded their Pepero date, White Day date, movie night dates, Las Vegas date to the fandom to see, that would not be private, it would be fan-service. You follow me? So I think people are quite confused when it comes to their ‘proofs’ and ‘labeling’ things the way they want. Basically there is no such thing as a definitive proof and this is why I don’t participate in ‘shipping’ real people. 

Just be aware of that and you will be fine! Also Ji+kook will always be adorable, just enjoy the experience of supporting them in your heart, without thinking too much if they are ‘real’ or not. If evidences lead you to see them as ‘real’, well great! If you are unsure, you can still love them right?! I mean their relationship (and the relationship between all members of BTS) is real anyways because whatever they have is 100% legit, and perhaps there is no great need to label that relationship if that makes you anxious and prevent you to sleep at night. So have a cup of tea, support Ji+kook and have your beauty sleep darling!
