This year i've had the joy of working alongside the incredible Tab Kimpton as co-editor on a pair of upcoming comic anthologies, coming out from Discord Comics!
Now (tomorrow!!) we'll begin crow-funding a project i am immensely proud of: Feast & Greed: A Pair of Polyamory Comic Anthologies.
There will be a lot more to share coming soon, but in the meantime you can mark the project to know when it goes live tomorrow!!
i'm really excited about these two books! As you all know, queer comics are very near and dear to me, and having a chance to showcase more stories featuring polyamory is a literal dream come true project for me. I can't wait for you to see this one ♥︎

Here's some webcomics that are easier to get into
I've been reading webcomics for more than twenty years. Along the way, I've seen a lot of them die, a few of them thrive, and some absolute bangers.
Most of these have a beginning, middle and end. All of them are good right from the start. Some of them have great art, some have great stories, some have both. The ongoing ones have working RSS.
The Sea In You - What if the little mermaid was a lesbian who knew sign language? Great art and a great story.
Infernal Relations (ongoing) - Hell is an office, literally. A gay romance between an angel and a demon, thwarted by hellish office politics. The world is humorous, but the story is dramatic. One of Tab Kimpton's many queer-centric romance comics, all available on the same site but all telling independent stories.
Puppeteer - a beautifully illustrated and fascinating story about a man who is friends with a possession demon. He is so disconnected from life that he decides to become one too, but is reluctant to use his powers and instead continues to drift through the world.
Spare Keys for Strange Doors - a humorous paranormal investigation series about a middle-aged British couple who solve problems that normal detectives can't handle. A mix of touching moments, witty dialogue, and fascinating but close-to-the-chest worldbuilding. Starts out fairly breezy, but the final story Keep Digging is intense.
Think Before You Think - a touching and funny story about a man who can read minds, the people closest to him, and the struggles of trying to have a romantic relationship when one person knows everything about the other. His abilities have made him an incredibly caring and understanding person, because he's seen it all and can't be shocked any more.
Twenty-Seven - a 27-year-old guitarist who can't play any more seeks the help of a mad scientist with the ability to summon... something powerful. But 27 is the age when rock legends die, and the bargain he makes is a dangerous one.
There's one more I don't hesitate to recommend, even though it does have the problem of a long backlog and frequent hiatuses. But it's so good right from page one that I think it's still worth jumping into:
Ava's Demon (ongoing) - stunningly beautiful illustrations, deep worldbuilding, and an intense story about a girl who is tormented by a demon, and is sent on a sci-fi odyssey trying to fulfill a pact with it. Unusually, it's presented one panel at a time, with updates usually containing a handful of panels.

If y'all aren't read Tab Kimpton's "Infernal Relations" you really should be. it's so fucking cute! Like Good Omens but less pining and more just jumping the bones (no porn but knowing Tab there might be some available on patreon or w/e)

Yeah, the only one I've ever seen is Tab Kimpton's Shades of A. It's a very cute satire webomic of 50 Shades. There's a fair bit of sexual content in it because it's also about the ace character figuring out how his sexuality works, but that's the ending.
My greatest wish is for a story about a very healthy romantic relationship between a sex-repulsed asexual (Person A) and a non-ace person (Person B)
A realtionship that isn't about " Person A realises that they like sex after all" and not "Person B loves Person A despite them being ace" but rather a relationship that is "Person A does not like sex or overly sexual stuff and Person B is totally fine with it and respectful and Netflix and chill really is just Netflix and chill" and "Person B loves Person A because of them being ace because it's a part of their identity and Person B loves everything about Person A"
Because nowadays people forget that sex does not equal romance and love.
A lot of asexual people just want a soft and nice romantic relationship without constantly getting the feeling of being broken.
We need more ace positivity!!

( Disclaimer: I do not mean to exclude aroace people. You are valid, you are seen. However this is at the moment just about ace people, because they exist too and it's important to show, that asexual does not equal aromantic. It often goes hand in hand, but not always)

11) Shades of A by Tab Kimpton (graphic novel). When openly asexual Anwar Sardar gets dragged to a kink night by his (soon to be ex) best mate, JD; he is surprised to make friends with Chris Slate, a middle aged transvestite with a penchant for Dr Who. Convinced they’ll never meet again Anwar puts him out of his mind, but the awkwardly charming man keeps turning up in his life. https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/25503314
Books Where The Ace Character Has A Relationship
There needs to be more of these. Some of us do want relationships!
Tumblr media
All these books have canon ace characters - word on the page vs headcanons fyi.
1) Let's Talk About Love by Claire Kann. This book gets a lot of buzz, as it should, for its portrayal of a black ace girl navigating a relationship. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/31625039-let-s-talk-about-love
2) Chameleon Moon by RoAnna Sylver, and the other stories about Parole. This has a poly relationship with an ace character and a whole lot of other rep. It reads like a blockbuster action movie, if that's your thing. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/31938167-chameleon-moon
3) Thaw by Elyse Springer. Featuring a relationship between a model and a librarian, I love how this is such a standard romance novel. All the beats are there - it's just got an ace woman in it ^_^ https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/32673586-thaw
4) The Spy with the Red Balloon by Katherine Locke. Wolf is demisexual (hello ace brethren) and his romance is his B-plot. This is completely okay because trying to sabotage Hitler takes priority. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/38650956-the-spy-with-the-red-balloon
5) Returning to You by Gwen Tolios. That rare partnership between an ace and aro character (neither of whom are aro ace), full of pining, family drama, and going from friends to lovers. As aces do. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/60497147-returning-to-you
6) Three Stupid Weddings by Ann Gallagher. Fake dating, friends to lovers, but make it gay and ace? Yes. You need this. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/41074778-three-stupid-weddings
7) His Quiet Agent by Ada Maria Soto. This is a classic ace romance, released way back in 2017, that reads like the gentle sickfic in the hurt/comfort tag on Ao3. Nurse your ace coworker back to health, and now you're a couple. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35238838-his-quiet-agent?ref=nav_sb_ss_1_9
8) Making Love by Aidan Wayne. This features an aro and a ace character realizing they're falling for each other in a world of cupids and succubi. Suuuper fluffy. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33120447-making-love?ref=nav_sb_ss_1_26
9) Enchanted Soles edited by Sasha Miller. This is a queer anthology featuring stories about shoes, but the last story called Hallowed Veil is the gold star. It features TWO ace characters, one in a relationship, and highlights the spectrum of desires. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30075296-enchanted-soles
10) How to Be Ace: A Memoir Of Growing Up Asexual by Rebecca Burgess. Non-fiction graphic novel about growing up ace, including dating troubles. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/54403237-how-to-be-ace

Got this today at a comic store here in Brighton.
If you’re UK-based, Tab regularly frequents MCM London and Birmingham if I remember correctly, and they have a wide spectrum of LGBTQIA+ stuff at their stall: from badges, to T-shirts to flags (I think!)

Two pages from some 500+, out of the eight stories of a groupe of eight classmates on khaos comics => http://discordcomics.com .
I’ve read it all in the past few days and many thinks were great about them.
This is a very realistic scene about transness, that can even happen IN YOU OWN HEAD WOW you don’t even need a doubting, tolerant mom to make it happen, you can be your own doubting, tolerant mom ! Yay !

This is Anwar, from my absolute favourite comic Shades of A by the majestic Tab Kimpton. If you haven’t read any of his comics yet you’re seriously missing out!

FINALLY A POST I CAN ADD TO!
The creator is a lovely person by the name of Tab, you might see him around the UK convention scene and whenever he goes to a bigger con he’ll map out the “Rainbow Road” and highlight where all the LGBT+ artists and traders are (obvs only with the consent of the people he’s highlighting).
To my knowledge every single one of Tab’s works stars LGBT+ characters. Standouts include a series called Shades of A with a super-snarky Ace main character, and a punderful collab series called British Yaoi which to this day is still my absolute favourite out of any art I own (though I believe this is mostly now done with, I asked about it last year and he got that “it’s been 84 years...” look about him so...).
He’s also a pretty decent pole & burlesque performer, he organises the burlesque show at Kitacon and did the drunken-Yuuri pole dance last year, and always works super hard at the things he creates for cons even if it’s just a 2-minute skit. Example: he helped fund and produce this beast of a closing ceremony video.
Basically he’s a lovely squishy bean everyone should support.
