HOUND is very much a caretaker, it is his nature to WANT to care for people, it's the only way he knows how to openly show affection. if you're sick he'll make you soup, if you need help he'll just start working, no need to ask. he is willing to do absolutely anything for someone he cares about and he does it quietly. he doesn't need attention, he just needs his people to be taken care of, that's all he wants.

the side that HURTS. hound's entire personality is built around not showing pain, physical or emotional, what he wants and cares for doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things because he's busy, he has shit to do he doesn't have time to collapse in on himself. he's not even really comfortable showing that kind of pain to kakashi. it's there, he's become aware of it being there, but he doesn't like it, and he doesn't want anyone to see it either.

FANTASTIC actor. not a great liar, but a really good actor. hound has sharingan's visual memory and great improv skills, so long as he's not emotionally involved in what he's acting with, he can keep going for a LONG time. if he's tired, or frustrated, or just getting angry through he can struggle to hold it together. he makes snap decisions based on weighing pros and cons, and while lies are useful, they are easy to get caught in, creating a new version that you act is the truth though, that is a lot easier.
