mari, an original character, removed from primary canon and rewritten to a fantasy storyline. themes include: god as a father, heaven as an allegory for abusive households, and rebellion as a method of justice. a study of the celestial, the profane, and the [un]holy. extremely private blog, twenty1+. religious mentions and imagery will go untagged. companion blog for mark (mari’s brother) can be found at protectre.

overview. marissa, now known as mari. genderless, presents feminine, uses she/they pronouns. angel, now fallen — is somewhat human, somewhat not. physically presents in her mid-20's, but is a bit complex on age considering that she only retains memories from age 10 and onwards. early angelic years of conditioning have since been wiped. can speak any language, but also cannot discern differences between them either. very little understanding of human education such as reading, math, writing, et cetera, but has a plethora of information on history + is extremely intelligent. five foot nothing, one hundred and thirty-five pounds, brown eyes, and eerily beautiful. has obtained a psychogenic stutter in the aftermath of her fall. ones in heaven rumor her to be much bigger and badder than she is.

lore. on earth, mari retains certain abilities, such as: heightened awareness, heightened intelligence, heightened stamina, heightened strength, heightened endurance, increased healing, divine communication, power resistance, and the power of persuasion. in hell, (or otherworldly spaces, in general) she also has the ability of emotional manipulation and sense manipulation. in heaven, mari is rumored to be lucifier — who, previous to this, was simply a prophecy. whether or not mari is actually lucifer depends on verse and combinations of lore. mari is capable of dying, but it would be extremely difficult to harm her unless from another angel or a demon. she does not have blood, but an encapsulation of divinity in her veins — the more she "bleeds," the more human she becomes. she does not need to eat, drink, sleep, or even breathe outside of heaven, but if she were to continually be harmed or "bleed" outside of heaven, she would become more susceptible to those needs.

form. mari's physical form is her own. angels do not have vessels, but instead morph to comprehensible forms when descending to earth. while, for the most part, she is perceived in a typical human form, there are aspects to her that are uncanny or unnerving if you look for too long.
