Trident Clipper V8 (1 of 39).
Trident Cars first manufactured sportscars between 1966 and 1974 - it was briefly resurrected in 1976 - and finally ceased production in 1978. And yes, until fairly recently we’d never heard of them either! The car you’re looking at here, the Trident Clipper V8, was originally intended to be a TVR Trident. Designed to head the TVR range at the time, the Blackpool firm’s planning was so advanced it even featured in early TVR brochures and adverts.Powered by the Ford 289 engine, the body was styled by Trevor Fiore, who went on to become Director of Design for Citroen. Performance was impressive with a top speed of 150mph and a 0-60mph of five seconds. One rung lower was the Trident Venturer V6, which uses the Ford three-litre Essex engine sitting in a lengthened Triumph TR6 chassis, a canny choice as it comes complete with coil-spring independent suspension on all four corners and Girling disc brakes at the front.Lacking the performance of the V8 model – a top speed of 120mph and 9.2 seconds to 60mph were the headline figures - it was identical to the V8 model bar the engine and ‘box. Completing the three-model lineup was the TR6-engined Tycoon.
TVR's financial troubles - almost a constant in the firm’s history - led to the Trident project being estranged and Bill Last, a TVR dealer, set up a new company. The agreement that had been thrashed out with TVR allowed for The Trident Company to build and sell the entire Trident range.
In all, Trident manufactured 39 Clippers, 84 Venturers and (unsurprisingly) only 7 Tycoons, making this both one of the rarest and most interesting marques you have possibly never heard of.

Hi. I'm back with some more car artwork--this time featuring a sports car that I would love for movie spies to take on their missions.

For pure journalistic integrity, or whatever the blogger's equivalent of it is, I must say:
First off, their take on safety was simply that both the equipment and the protective structural reinforcements -notice the girth of the pillars- were consistent with the racecars, which had to comply with safety regulations designed around a much higher accident rate. Rather than a compromise it was a deliberate choice.
Second off, a Hyundai brought remotely close to TVR performance for TVR money, even purely in a straight line, was not present nor possible then (the fastest a Hyundai got back then got to 60 freedoms/h in 9.3s - good luck getting to the Tuscan above from two seconds off twice as slow) and is still not present nor possible now (however unfair a comparison that would be anyway) - you're not getting an Elantra under 4 seconds with grands to spare for paintwork, I can tell you that much. If we're talking spending the MSRP of a coachbuilt sportscar on buying and modding a used car after three decades of cars getting faster and speed getting cheaper, alright I guess, but I can tell you that if you don't like sacrificing safety and ease of use for speed you are really not gonna like anyone leaving with 40k and getting back in a Hyundai with swanky paint and shiny wheels glued to a Tuscan's rear like it's a sex thing doing the Initial D cup scene with Sprite. That's the type that gets a wheel without air bag for looks, not the type that bothers learning if it's even possible to restore the electronic assists provided by the factory control module they ditched in favor of one that would play nice with their ship-of-Theseusing the car into essentially the very thing you sought to destroy minus a chassis tuned for that power output and the cool interior.
And lastly, ease of use was not compromised for speed. It was compromised for the pure and utter sake of it.
i meant these shotgun shell holders
Oh! Yeah those warning lights holes did look small for shotgun shells.
Those are so-called "speed holes", a mocking name originating from the Simpsons for holes made for weight reduction or aerodynamic purposes.
In this case, the part would weigh a lot without those holes, being made of machined aluminium like literally every part of the interior that wasn't leather. And let's remember, this car cost £40k. If that doesn't sound cheap to you, you've not looked at the new cars you can buy with that kind of money lately.

C 🚔 A 🚘 R 🚖 S • An ongoing series of new drawings and paintings still in their infancy 🌿 • Drawing cars goes all the way back to when I was around 7 and started obsessively drawing and designing cars together with my neighbor, Jason. We would package the drawings together, accompanied by a letter and write off to so many car companies. Every car company would reply as I remember. Mail would arrive daily; often handwritten letters on headed paper together with posters, car brochures, die-cast cars and invitations to showrooms ⭐️ • #newwork #colour #cars #interior #porsche #lincoln #taxi #lada #yugo #lincolnave #beep #traffic #reflect #palms #road #sunlight #beams #drawing #painting #shaping #testarossa #tvr #lotuselise #peugeot #racing #sportscar #danielvandernoon

2019 Ford Powered TVR Griffith Sportscar Rumors
New Post has been published on http://usafordcars.com/2019-ford-powered-tvr-griffith-sportscar-rumors/
2019 Ford Powered TVR Griffith Sportscar Rumors
2019 Ford Powered TVR Griffith Sportscar Rumors – Reborn English sportscar-producer TVR has exposed its all-new, Ford-operated sports car forward of the 2017 Goodwood Revival, dubbed “Griffith” following several models from the automaker’s storied previous. While there is a lot to drool over, of particular curiosity to us, Ford followers are the engine: a 5.-liter DOHC Coyote V8 like the one deployed in the Mustang GT, tuned by Cosworth to create 500 brake hp with no aid from forced induction.
2019 Ford Powered TVR Griffith Sports Redesign
Supporting performance, even more, is the new TVR Griffith’s reduced size. The body was established utilizing a new “stream” process developed by Method 1 race car designer Gordon Murray, which joins a tubular metal frame with bonded co2-dietary fiber body solar panels for outstanding rigidity with out racking up too many lbs. The result is a reported dried out weight of 1,250 kg – or about 2,760 pounds – providing on TVR’s 400-bhp-for every-tonne goal.
2019 Ford Powered TVR Griffith Sports Engine
Also beneficial: the body has been designed with a smooth, flat underside, made feasible by the area-exit exhaust. This actively works to reduce smooth pull and then leave a lot more of the engine’s power for the purpose issues: velocity and velocity. The result of this is a stated sub-4-second -to-60-miles per hour time, a -to-100-mph time of around six secs, and a 200-mph leading speed.
Braking and handling? Forget about it. The car has been designed with a best 50/50 body weight syndication front-to-back again and packages some serious braking hardware, boasting 370-millimeters floating discs at the start with 6-piston calipers. In contrast to the TVR sports cars of yore, the new TVR Griffith will ship with contra–secure braking system, airbags, and grip management – a result of today’s much more greatly-legislated highways.
2019 Ford Powered TVR Griffith Sports Price and Release Date
The 2019 TVR Griffith Launch Version will surely cost close to £90,000 (about $118k US). The jury’s out as to regardless of whether it will probably be available in the U. S ., but in some way, it would not surprise us if it trapped solely to the old continent.
