Autistic April Day 30: Routines

I have a routine that varies from day to day depending on what type of day it is. It can vary from days at home to work days and days when I go out. I am going to share my Monday routine with you below. Monday is a work day.

Wake up to 10:40am: check phone, make and have banana smoothie for breakfast, have shower, brush hair, do exposure theapy which is walking to a spot and standing at that spot for a period of time than walking home, play animal crossing.

10:40am to 12pm: have lunch, drink two cups of water, brush teeth, go to toilet, get changed, place things needed for work in work bag, do my hair, put my shoes on, go in the car to work.

12pm to 1:15pm: arrive at work, sign in, grab apron out of work bag, leave staff room and go to toilet, walk to kitchen and do dishes

1:15pm to 2pm: have my break in the staff room which is eating a muesli bar while looking at my phone, go to toilet, push some residents who are wheel chair users to the main room and tell some residents that Hoy which is a game similar to Bingo is going to be played.

2pm to 3pm: sit with some residents while they play hoy and tell them if they have missed any numbers being called out. Give a chocolate to each game winner.

3pm to 3:30pm: take the residents back to their rooms if they wish to return. Put the hoy equipment and tables away.

3:30pm to 4pm: take dirty dishes to the kitchen and do dishes, sweep up the main room and dining room, go home

4pm to 5:30pm: get changed into house clothes, have some food to eat, play animal crossing

5:30pm to bedtime: have dinner, drink two cups of water, sit on toilet, have shower, put furbys to bed, watch TV with mum, Play around on phone, go to bed.

btw im gonna use this opportunity to say i've always been a sports entertainment girlie. my first wrestling exposure might be aew but i watched wwe like twice and realized i like it much much better. its a personal prefence ofc, not a quality assesment, both promotions had its perks and quirks. but im a promo girlie through and through. and i can enjoy a tv-friendly safer style just fine because at the core i prefer good trash-talking segments and simple yet strong storytelling with memorable gimmicks. i can live without canadian destroyers nor machine gun chops, even though i find them cool. also, we got more good women characters and storylines, which is surprising because i was spooked by the internet that wwe is a sexist hellscape. glad i have more to watch other than impact and stardom (which is difficult for me to follow because of the language barrier). i love the miz, i love la knight, i love bayley, and i love bianca belair! i do wish we'd get to see more blood, dog collars, and thumbtacks in wwe though. oh well! i can watch other things :)

Preference #38: Asking to prom

Brad: It seemed like the moment Brad and I met we were inseparable. We were the envy of couples at our school. I didn't mind because I loved being the center of attention. It wasn't to anyone surprised that I was up for prom queen. I mean it is up to the people to vote right? Besides that, I was excited to go to prom with Brad. It would be our last school dance and I wanted it to be perfect. I was sitting in history class just daydreaming about how he would ask me to be his date. It was a tradition that the boys made a big deal out of asking the girls to prom. The bell rung and history class was history. I made my way to my locker to switch out my books. I grabbed my books out of my locker when I noticed a note fell out. I bent over to pick it up and I noticed that it was from Brad. 'Meet me in the gym' the note read. I closed my locker and proceeded to go to the gym. I walked in and it was empty, I frowned as I thought he had forgotten that he sent me the message. The lights turned off and I screamed because I wasn't expecting it. My scream echoed throughout the gym, I could hear someone walking up towards me. "Brad?" I asked. I felt someone come behind me but before I could turn around the lights popped back on. I turned and saw Brad on one knee with a rose. Something else caught my attention, I looked around the gym. He had all of his friends holding signs that spelled out 'Would You Go To Prom With Me?'. I smiled and turned my attention back to Brad. I nodded my head yes as I grabbed the rose from his hand. He stood up and hugged me close to his chest. "Didn't mean to scare you" He whispered into my ear. "It's ok" I wrapped my arms around his neck. He nodded towards his friends and they all left the gym, I just stayed close to Brad. "Did my promposal suck?" he asked. "No babe it was perfect," I said as I leaned up and kissed him softly. He smiled against my lips before kissing me back, pulling me closer to him. "We should go," I said as I pulled away from the kiss. "Aw," he pouted as he didn't want to let me go. "It will be ok babe," I said as I kissed him. "I know," he said as he grabbed my hand. We headed back into the school and went to lunch before we had to go our separate ways. I kept the rose that he gave me and put it in my memory box. Of course, I put some stuff on it so it wouldn't die, I just thought his proposal was so cute. Over the next few weeks, it was really cute to see all the guys asking their girls out to prom. People started to wonder what Brad was going to do but little did they know he already asked me. I thought it was sweet that he didn't make it so public with his proposal. It was just something small and intimate, something we could cherish between us two.

James: Our relationship was new but it was strong. We just met back in September, crazy how this was both our senior year. It was crazy how fast we fell in love, guess time would tell if we stayed together. It seemed as if time was already flying by. Before I knew it senior year was almost over, which meant the fun things came. Prom and graduation, well graduation would be bittersweet. As the weeks started going by and prom edge closer I started to wonder what James would do. I was in the girl's bathroom getting ready for the prep rally, our last one of the year. I pulled my hair back in a bun and put my clips in, since I was a cheerleader everything had to be in place. "So?" my friend said. "What?" I asked as I looked at her. "What is James going to do?" she asked. "That's for him to know and no one else" I rolled my eyes. "He still hasn't asked?" my other friend asked. "No not yet, but I know he will," I said. "Are you sure?" she questioned. "If it doesn't it's not a big deal, I know we are going together," I said as I put my bag in the locker. We went out to the gym and stood on the sidelines as everyone started walking in. We had our seats as the event started. We went out onto the floor to do our routine, and the lights flickered. We didn't think anything of it as we continued then all of a sudden the lights went out. The screams filled the room but soon the spotlight came on and James was standing in the middle. Everyone looked at me confused then put their focus on James. "Hello everyone," he said into the mic. He nodded to the guys in the sound booth and our song started to play. He held his hand out to me and I walked over to him. He grabbed my hand pulling me close as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I laid my head down on his shoulder as we danced to the music. "Stop being shy" he whispered in my ear. I didn't mind being out there with my crew but with the spotlight on just us, I was nervous. He pushed me away from him and I twirled under his arm and he got down on one knee. "James," I said. "Will you go to prom with me?" he asked into the mic. "Of course I will," I said. I pulled him up and kissed him softly as he held me close to him. Everyone started to cheer for us, he grabbed my hand and lead me out of the gym. I knew he was going to do something but nothing like this. I hugged him close to me and kissed his cheek. "And everyone doubted you" I looked at him. "I always come through for my girl" he placed his hand against my cheek. "Always" I smiled as I kissed him. I never doubted him and even though I got shy during our dance it would always be our dance.

Connor: Our senior year was anything but easy. I was glad that I did have Connor by my side as we tried to navigate our last year. I missed so much of my senior year that I knew I wasn't going to graduate with my class. With summer classes I would graduate but just later on. It didn't matter to Connor though, he still wanted us to have our senior memories. That included prom and how he would ask me to prom. I told him not to make a big fuss about it because I just wanted to be with him. I grabbed my books out of my locker, closing them and making my way to my class. "Not today, '' Connor said as he came up beside me grabbing my hand. "What?" I questioned. "Not going to class," he said as he grabbed my books from me. "Ok fine by me" I smiled as I followed him. We walked to the cafeteria and at first, I was confused about why. I saw a sign that said 'where we first met'. I held his hand tighter as I leaned against him. "Our first time meeting was here when I bumped into you," he said. "Yea and you stole my heart with those eyes," I said. "Come on" he wrapped his arm around me and led me out of the cafeteria. We went to the library next and once again there was a sign 'where we first kiss'. "And I'll kiss you all over" I smiled as I pulled him closer to me and kissed him softly. He smiled against my lips and placed his hand against my cheek. He softly pulled away as he grabbed my hand leading me out. We went down to the garden, it was spring so all the flowers were blooming. "Why are we here?" I asked as I looked for the sign. "New memory," he said as he grabbed my hips pulling me to him. "Oh really?" I smirked as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Yea it is,"  he said. I looked at him and every time we locked eyes it just seemed like we were the only two that mattered. "Look around you" he whispered. I looked away from and looked at the flowers. He had a band come out and play a song for us, I looked at him. "Full of surprises," I said. "Yea I am" he kissed me softly. Once he pulled away he was handed a sunflower and handed it to me. "Will you do me the honor and be my sunflower at the prom?" he asked. "Of course I will be" I smiled as I grabbed the flower from him. "I know they are your favorite," he said. "They are and now they have another memory," I said. "I love you," he said. "I love you" I kissed him softly. We got caught in the flower garden and we had to go to class. It was one of the good moments that happened so far this year and I would hold onto it forever.

Tristan: We came into high school together and we did have some times where we were apart. It always seemed like we always found our way back to each other. It was more of everyone else in our ears than us having a problem. I was glad that our senior year was coming to an end, we were done with classes officially. Just the fun stuff like prom, beach day, and our graduation. It was a tradition that the boys always asked the girls to prom but I wanted to switch it up. I wanted to surprise Tristan and ask him to prom, I just had to figure out how I wanted to do it. He was in the band so I thought maybe I could do something with music. I stayed up all night to write a song but it wasn't a good idea. I thought maybe I would do it during band practice, but how would I. I swear I couldn't seem to figure it out but then it clicked. The next day at school I walked up to him and grabbed his hand. "Hey babe," he said as he kissed my cheek. "Hey" I smiled as I looked at him. "Someone is having a good day," he said. "Of course I am, I have a surprise for you," I said. "I do too" he smirked. 'Oh ok, band class?" I questioned. "Yea that's where my surprise is too" he looked at me. "I guess great minds think alike," I said. 'I guess so," he said. He kissed my cheek as we parted ways. We didn't have band class until our last class of the day. Once the bell rang I rushed to the room to set up but Tristan was already there. He had a bunch of roses in my favorite colors and a banner saying `prom'? "You were going to ask me?" I asked. "Of course I was, wait what was your surprise?" he questioned. "Oh it's nothing," I said. "You were going to ask me" he smirked. "Yea I was but you beat me to it" I smiled. "Yea I guess I did," he said as he pulled me to him. "Ready?" his friend asked. "Go for it" he nodded. They started to play my favorite song that they play. I wrapped my arms around Tristan as I looked at him. "So would you like to go to prom with me?" he whispered in my ear. "Yes, I would" I smiled as I kissed his cheek. He handed me the roses and kissed my cheek. It was funny because who would have thought we would end up trying to ask each other at the same time. It was cute that he got to ask first, great minds do think alike.

Christmas Carol Ask Game

Favourite Carol to sing at church: I cannot think of one I don’t love to sing, but my favourite Christmas carol of all is Adeste Fideles. In Dulci Jubilo is particular fun to sing, and as a child O du fröhliche was an obvious prefence, and in a way it still is.

Favourite for door-to-door caroling: Caroling is sadly not common here, but I absolutely love the Gloucestershire Wassail. There are some door-to-door singing practices common in Germany, but aside from generally loving Advent and Christmas music, I don’t have a particular song in mind right now.

Carol you wish was sung more often: Oh, I really love so many rare and uncommon Christmas and Advent songs. Especially really old Christmas songs. That aside... well, on one hand I’d love it if traditional British carols were more often sung here, but on the other hand, I always feel that many German carols are missing on so many albums and playlists when I look for Christmas music. To name a truly uncommon one, Myn Lyking.

Carol you love that is most likely to have recordings you don’t like: I don’t know, because I specifically look up recordings I do like. I generally don’t like mainstream pop arrangements of traditional carols. But these last few days I tried to find some very good versions of German carols, especially Tochter Zion, and finding those was very difficult. Too many pop/schlager versions.

Favourite recording of that Carol: Huh, maybe this one. I really liked it when I saw it on tv, and it’s difficult to find truly energetic recordings on Christmas albums and the like.

Favourite Christmas album? Christmas Star by the Cambridge Singers, and A Christmas Celebration by Celtic Woman.

the dunes near valeria del mar's beaches are just so fun to explore might be 7yo me talking but i had some amazing times in there lmao. buenos aires is nice too i really like the general vibe even though it's wildly different depending on neighbourhoods

It's not just women reacting to male characters. I'm a dude and roughly a third of my favorite characters are sexy female villains / psychopaths.

(Azula from Avater, Esdeath from Akame ga Kill, Medusa from Soul Eater, Kurumi from Date a Live, Poison Ivy from Batman, Mystique from X-Men, Nui and Ragyo from Kill la Kill, just to name a few)

Granted, I'm into anime, so that may have an effect on my prefences. Many of those characters are the most popular characters in respective series.

Also, the fact that most of the villains in Western media are white is probably just because most CHARACTERS in Western media are white. White people make up at least 60% of the US population and that's reflected in TV, movies, books etc. Of course the popular white villains outnumber the villains of racial minorites, there are a lot more of them, just like their are more white heroes.

Finally, writers being more hesitant to make their main villains other ethnicities, out of fear of being considered racist, may also have something to do with it. Killmonger is one of the most popular MCU villains to date, but I suspect people would be calling his depiction racist if the hero he was fighting was a white dude. Also take note of all the Steven universe fans getting all bitchy because one of the alien space rock villains was "black-coded" or some nonsense.

fandom has taught me not to make my villain a skinny conventionally attractive white man because no matter how horrible I write them, some degenerate is gonna do mental gymnastics to excuse their shitty behavior and ship them with my heroine despite an appalling lack of romantic chemistry

if you wish for things to simply be told to you then i might just share some stuff. feel free to just read this and not post it, but- anyway, writing is fun. any form of expression is pretty fun to be a part of, just creating stuff that have some part of you in them. like, the fact that no matter what you make, it'll always contain some aspect of your personality, prefences, your whole being really. so, i got this notebook a few weeks ago and i've wanted to fill it with a bunch of sketches, maybe some words, if i manage to connect them properly to each other that is. the thing is, i haven't been doing much with my life this month, school's fine but never great and i'm not even sure if i want it to be. because of this i've been thinking that in case nothing ever changes and, even more final, nothing becomes of me, maybe i could keep something in that notebook, or anywhere i can really, to show that i wasn't an empty shell the whole time. like, 'hey, mom and dad. however i might've messed up, please look at this, so you know that even though i barely talked about it, i did want something more.' only, i haven't been able to write or draw anything in it for two weeks now, and i'm thinking, well, if i can't even prove to myself that i want there to be more of me, then how is anybody else going to believe me? this isn't supposed to be depressing by the way, just having a brain fart and all, but if i am dead tomorrow and there's nothing of substance left, then what was it all for? no need for advice or anything, but maybe an experience on the topic at hand, if you've had some, would be nice.

i know what you feel like and honestly the only tip i could give you is to write a journal. write down the things that happened to you and if nothing happened then write down what songs you listened to, what food you ate, what movie you watched, what book you read, what made you happy, what made you sad, what made you angry. it doesn’t always have to have a great purpose, it can just be a little something. and when you find the notebook again in a couple of years you remember how you felt and what kind of person you were and you’ll notice how much you’ve changed over the time. you can fill your notebook with quotes from tv, movies, poetry, magazines, interviews whatever or with lyrics that speak to you or you can do little stupid sketches. that way you leave a trace of you on earth, even if it’s just in a notebook, even if it’s just you describing your day or your favorite song or your favorite movie. it doesn’t matter because you wrote it and that makes it special. and keeping a little journal is good for your mental health too, you can keep trakc of how youve been doing and how youve been feeling. just remember, not everything has to have a grand purpose, you dont have to pressure yourself to create art or write.

Autistic April Day 27:Self Care

I usually practice self care by allowing myself to rest sometimes when I am feeling burnt out. I usually play Animal crossing or watch videos on my phone.

Sometimes I watch cartoons on TV. I remember once I was in a bad mood and I watched the Simpsons non shop and that helped me feel alot more better. Another time I was having a Meltdown and my brother put Bluey on the TV for me and that took me out of my Meltdown. I feel like cartoons are more easier to watch when I am not feeling to well because they are more visually stimulating.

The other day I bought some powder that can go into bath water and turn into slime. Bathing in slime sounds nice so next time I am having a bad day I will use it.

Autistic April Day 12: My Favourite Autistic celebrities or characters.

Two of my favourite Autistic celebrities are Chloe Hayden and Elle McNicoll.

Chloe Hayden is an Autistic advocate, author and actress. She is mainly known as her role as Quinni in Break High (who is also Autistic). Chloe Hayden has also wrote a book about her life experiences titled "Different not Less". I have read and thought it was great. I haven't met Chloe myself but she looks like a very fun and bubbley person to be around.

Elle McNicoll is an Autistic Author who has wrote 5 books and has another book called "Some like it Cold" that is coming out in October this year. All the books she has wrote has at least one Autistic character in it. Her book titled "A Kind of Spark" has been adapted to be a TV series where many of the characters are played by Autistic people.  One season has been released with another season coming out this year. I have read all her books and loved them and I have seen the first season of "A Kind of Spark" and loved that too. I dressed up as Addie (the main character from "A Kind of Spark") for Halloween last year.

Autistic April Day 10: Childhood Special Interests

I have three Childhood special interests which I want to talk about and they are the Tweenies, Fremantle Dockers and Tamagotchis.

The Tweenies was one of my first special interests I have had. The Tweenies is a children's TV show made by the BBC that is about four children named Bella, Fizz, Milo and Jake who go to a family daycare that is ran by Max and Judi. There is also a dog named Doodles. I had toys and books from the show. I also watched the show on VCR. I even went to their concert in 2002 but couldn't see the whole concert because I had to go to hospital due to abdominal pain.

The Fremantle Dockers is an Australian Rules football team. When I was younger I used to live in Western Australia and one day my family and I went to a footy game. I sat on my dads lap while he explained to what was going on with the game. I got really interested in it and my dad and I continued to catch the bus into Perth for games regularly. I have attached a photo of me from when I was 8 or 9 with Johney Docker who is the mascot for the Fremantle Dockers here.

Tamagothis are little egg shaped toys with screens on them. The screen featured a little pet which you can play games with and raise. Once I was given twenty dollars to spend on what I wanted so I was at the shops and I saw Tamagotchis for sale. They looked interesting and a girl explained to me what they were. I decided to spend my $20 on one and was a huge fan of it. I kept it on a lanyard and I cried when my first Tamagotchi died. I remember when I saw other kids with their Tamagotchis I asked them if they wanted to connect our Tamagotchis.
