For me it's already time! (GMT+9) and so I'll be posting this right now!!!!!!

In chinese zodiac 2024 will be the year of the dragon, so I thought it would be interesting to make Edward a dragon for my first 2024 art! And hey wouldn't you know it, It's also my year! I was also born in the year of the dragon, WHICH IS ALSO MY PERSONA HAHAHA.

I swear it's a coincidence!!!

But anywho I'm here to say thank you for all the support and encouragement I get from y'all, I wish my friends, mutuals, and followers a great year, there were ups and downs but I managed to pull through, those who stays will forever get my appreciation and those who are lost is already forgiven, HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!

Now excuse me while I drink champagne until I can see god, Cheers!🥂

Ok, I got bored and mashed up a train, a eastern dragon and a Tiger to make this.

Thomas, Percy and the Dragon ! 🐉

Not my fav ep of the season, but my preferences are seemingly well regarded lol, in this case there’s a few factors I really like and a few that don’t really land, but overall it’s pretty solid and unique.

I really like that it picks back up on a story arc from s2 - that of Ghost Train. To be honest, both from s2 and RWS, I kind of assume Woolly Bear is the sequel, as it’s Percy getting covered in [substance] which makes him look like [something they were talking about earlier], and in the end either Percy or Thomas get the last laugh. A tit for tat sort of miniarc. And the stories are right next to each other!

But in Dragon’s case, it’s shaking that routine up. Percy directly references Ghost Train and continues to milk it, to Thomas’ annoyance but not wrath. Instead, Percy’s ....comeuppance? (doesn’t entirely feel like the right word but oh well) is coincidental and environmental. Stuck points, an owl and a huge illuminated Chinese Dragon prop, with swirling steam on the dark night, all happen to become the perfect mix to frighten the Little Loco, and set a really cool atmosphere.

It’s unclear if Thomas just happened into spooking Percy but pushing that Dragon Train, but his huge grin implies to me at least that he’s getting some enjoyment from it all, which is a nice light portion of his more mischievous side without him being quite as mean as in Woolly Bear.

Though I find the end to be the weakest part of it, this routine is unfortunately standard for s3. It feels like the non-Books stories like this [based on a couple of Magazine outings instead] struggled to hit the right balance and often fell on the side of “everyone was happy” endings. But I’m not mad, as the moral is a legit one, even if it sounds a bit weird being eloquently put by Thomas [In Angelis’ voice lol].

The other highlight is back when Percy is stranded on a siding, his Driver is like: “Damn, this kinda sucks. Anyway bye Percy lol”, much to Percy’s chagrin. Just a little dash of realism that the Drivers have their own lives and Tea (the meal) to return to. That scene pushed the episode over the edge for me! :D

So yeah, not S3′s best, but a Darn Good One. And with the unique Dragon design and night scenes, it’s rather pretty, too~ ✨

Just a cute idea that I wanted you to share

So like, if trains and vehicles are like Techno-Organic Beasts with human faces, I think that Hiro and Yong Bao would definitely be Oriental Dragons with two different designs for each other

Yong Bao would definitely be tiger themed (Obviously)

And Hiro would definitely be Kirin themed (because why not?)

Just imagine, two of them being long, noodle dragons as beasts. 🐉 🚂
