WIP Wednesday: TTBW Ch 4

Hello loves, I'm here to say there are only 2 scenes left in TTBW Ch 4: "All Your Life" for me to write, and then the it's off to the Beta gremlins (affectionate).

Cassian just sat, gazing after the clouds that floated by with his eyes full of an emotion that Nesta couldn’t quite place. She walked toward the door and looked back, only for a moment, and took in her mate. “I’ll be gone for less than an hour, okay?” She didn’t tell him how to contact her. She knew Cassian knew how, but also that he wouldn’t. Her mate had barely spoken to her, and she couldn’t blame him after all she and Azriel had revealed during the trial. After everything that had been said about him. “I love you, Cassian.” Without looking back after she spoke, Nesta left quickly for the library. Something inside her twisted, and she wondered if she had made the right decision. When the door closed, Cassian forced himself to gaze unseeingly out the window for a minute longer. She couldn’t know, couldn’t suspect. It would ruin everything. Once he was sure he could no longer hear her footsteps, Cassian stood on unsteady feet and walked toward his bedside table.

Sunday Funday Update

You know what time it is... that's right!

🎉 SUNDAY FUNDAY UPDATE TIME!

🦇 This past week has been aaaaallll about TTBW. Chapter 4 is now a whopping 31 pages and over 15K words. The betas have blessed me with some incredible comments and I've got my work cut out for me. I plan to get this fic to y'all as soon as possible.

💞 After chapter 4 of TTBW is posted, I will be switching gears to focus ENTIRELY on @polyacotarweek fics. I can't wait to share all of this with y'all!

Edits are well underway on chapter 4, "All Your Life". In the meantime, I'm here to deliver another snippet to tide you over until the work is complete.

“He shut me out. He shut the bond out completely.” Nesta said, trying to remain calm, to keep air flowing in and out of her lungs.  “Hasn’t he done that before?” Gwyn asked, brow furrowed.  Nesta gripped the table for support as she searched her end of the bond for any connection to Cassian she could grasp. “We agreed after that attack that he wouldn’t, especially not now while he’s recovering.”  “Did anything happen this morning? Maybe he just needed some space to think.”  “He was off this morning,” Nesta said, her breathing starting to come quicker as anxiety coursed through her system. “But he’s been off. I’m not sure. He flinched when I went to touch him, and he wouldn’t look at me, even when I told him I loved him.”  Gwyn blanched, her skin going paler than Nesta had ever seen. “Go,” she said somewhat breathlessly. “Go now Nesta.”

Sometimes, brevity is not the soul of wit.

TTBW Ch 4 has now surpassed 10k words. And I still have four scenes left to write. It may be a bit longer my loves, but I PROMISE you are not gonna want to miss this chapter. So much hurt. So much comfort. But then like a lot more hurt...

As @pippsmcgee this chapter's alternate title could be "Azriel's extremely bad, no good, simply awful day."
