hey - do you write? cause if you do, there is this cool meme that I just got pulled in, where you have to list your ten most recent stories and the first paragraph they start with, to discern any patterns in your writing. and anyway this is me officially inviting you to join the game cause it sounds fun ;)

OH MAN OKAY my ten most recent stories are basically like. everything from the past year because i’m a lazy shit when it comes to writing. BUT ANYWAYS HERE GOES the first few are just pieces of scenes i have finished for unfinished projects because oops i have like nineteen wip’s right now

1. They end up in a motel five blocks down from the museum. Clarke counts every turn the woman takes and tucks the rolled canvas in her hand closer to her body. It’s raining out, a light and dreary kind of wet and she can’t afford to have this painting ruined. - bad intentions 

2. Clarke narrows her eyes at the target in front of her and flexes her fingers, curling and stretching around the thin projectile in her hand. Every muscle in her arm is primed, pulled taught into a familiar pose. Someone to her left whoops and someone else claps, short and staccato, and Clarke blocks it out. - yet to be titled clexa au

3. It’s absurd, the kind of thing that’s only supposed to exist in books and fantasy. Soulmates, reincarnation, the idea of having lived so many other lives and not remembering them. It’s the stuff of fiction, and Alicia scoffs the first time Elyza brings it up, a vague and sideways mentioning that Alicia is sure is a joke. - truth is, the stars are falling (aka yet another unfinished lexark piece)

4. Clarke traces a finger into the bend of Lexa’s knee, over words in a foreign language that she is still learning to read. The grounders, they’re all covered in words written in their own native language; mangled pieces of broken English that has morphed into a dialect all its own over the years. - another untitled au i haven’t gotten around to finishing?

5. “Stop here.”Alicia halts immediately in front of the doorstep to something like the fifteenth house they’ve passed in about as many minutes. “Here?” She questions, pointed accusingly at the building almost like the structure itself is the one being ridiculous. It’s exactly like every other house on this street, except the outside has been painted a bright, ugly pink. - cut like diamonds (we were made to last) 

6. he is gone.she feels it like he was ripped out of her body instead of his own. she feels it like a phantom settling over her, like the echo of gunshots and blood sticking to her clothes and her hand in his. she feels it white hot and exploding out of her.- not even the rain // depressing maximoff fic i’ve been been in an on and off relationship with for, like, a year.

7. the decision to move in together was never anything that was discussed. they learned how to live under the same roof months ago when their little house in ivytown made the quiet shift from a one week stay to something a little more permanent, a little more stable. oliver learned that felicity has a side of the bed. felicity learned that oliver has a prowess in the kitchen that took her aback more than anything she’s ever seen him do.(well, almost anything.)- you’re in my blood (like holy wine)

8. Out of everything, it’s the noise that’s the worst. There’s a sickening kind of irony to it, one that no one thought to take into account in all their worst-case scenarios and end-of-the-world imaginings. Some simple, beautiful things from the world before have managed to stick around even after everything went to shit, even after the dead started standing again and every fragile construct of safety melted away. Things like the birds, the cicadas, went unaffected while human lives fell to pieces. - starve my heart of touch and time 

9. the dark room had unsettled her at first. all greys and faded florals, it was dusty and had one exit, save for the small window that provided a stunning view of the faded brick side of the building next door. she walks in hesitantly, trailing behind barton and subconsciously making a list of all the ways she could kill him from this position. - clintnat ask meme prompt

10. the glass clinks on the wooden table, cheap plywood covered with wood-printed plastic that dulls impact even as the glass rocks on its edges for a brief moment, struggling for stability. bobbi sighs, grimacing as the sound echoes in the windowless room. what was she thinking, a motel room with no windows? maybe it felt safe at first, secluded. now it just feels small. claustrophobic. - lancebob ask meme prompt
