- He's still so young and, as the youngest in the Durin line, he's still at that age where he feels invincible. This can be a good and a very bad thing, most times it ends up being a bad thing because he becomes reckless.

- As I said for Fíli, the fact that they fought so hard to get to Erebor and defend the lonely mountain but never got to see it restored pains me on an astronomical level. These boys deserved so much better than the end they got. :((

- As previously mentioned with the boys, the simple fact that Thorin never gets to see his homeland restored is, in itself, a god damned tragedy. This man went through hell for the majority of his life and the only thing keeping him going was his family and the promise to return them to their home. To reclaim your kingdom only for you to become tainted by sickness, luckily snap out of it, but then die in the arms of your husband friend... I cry every time I watch BotFA. Durin fans, we ride at dawn.

- Dís Durin ruins me in a way I cannot describe. Everything and everyone she loved was destroyed long before their times. Her grandfather, father, both brothers, partner, and sons (likely as well as her mother and grandmother). Yet she continued living for them, for their memory. I just-- I cant with her.
