I had an idea

Matt is the type of person where he'll show empathy by connecting his experiences to someone else's gus understands this as does lus and willow. Amity kinda does but hunter doesn't. So from time to time someone gus for example will say something amd matt will respond with his own experience witch half the time is about the same without context and makes people worry with context. Like gus will complain that he fell down the stairs and matt will agree its terrible and that he used to fall down the stairs at glandas all the time. Then like a week latter the hexsquad finds out he didn't fall down glandas stairs all the time he was usually pushed out of the way and it made him fall. Or willow will complain about her backpack being heavy and matt will agree hevey backpacks suck and how he hated carrying them around again with a glandas connection. A month latter after matt offers to carry everyone's bag and gus has to force him not to the hexsquad finds out he would be forced to carry bria Gavin and amars bags everywhere all day and if one of them was mad at him they would pourpusly pack the heaviest things they could find.
