In your opinion what are the most important areas F1 needs to work on to be more inclusive to omega drivers? ~ Luci

Ah a very serious matter, and one I am passionate about.

First off, I believe stewards and FiA officials should receive training in reading omega body language and how to properly accommodate non-disruptive behaviors. Currently the only training they receive of this sort is for conflict de-escalation between alphas (and the fact that alpha ‘accommodations’ are focused almost solely on their potential for aggression is a whole other rant I could go on but will not here). Better awareness of omega non-verbal cues is badly needed, and we got yet another clear demonstration of this after quali in Jeddah. As you yourself said, it was incredibly distressing to witness Charles being dragged away from Max like that, and all for what? To make sure the schedule was adhered to? To keep up the laughable facade that Max and Charles aren’t bonded just because they haven’t spelled it out on instagram yet? Charles was clearly so upset by it, and Max was visibly distressed about it too! Yet the official seemed to have no concept at all of what he was doing beyond ‘come on silly omega, you’re holding things up and need to be elsewhere’.

This actually brings me to my next point - the blanket ban on publicly visible scenting in the paddock is atrocious, explicitly anti-omega, and should be done away with.

As we all know, scenting, especially casual light scenting, is such an integral part of omega social interaction, hormonal/instinct regulation, and emotional well-being. (It is of course important for alphas too, but again, that’s another discussion). Using this latest incident with Charles as an example again, both he and his bonded mate had just performed incredibly well in front of thousands of people, of *course* he would be keyed up and his instincts would be screaming at him to reenforce their bond after that. Just a light scenting to calm his instincts and Charles would have been settled and ready to move on to the next thing, but because of the ban he couldn’t do that and instead had to resort to more extended proximity and eye-contact to settle himself enough to comfortably leave Max’s side (which then of course also got interrupted because anti-omega bias is systemic in F1 just like it is in many other settings)

Yes I do acknowledge that there have been instances in the past of scenting being arguably taken too far for a professional setting, but anything that crossed the line could be covered just fine under the injunctions against disruptive behaviors. Even in countries with strict ‘decency laws’ the FiA could, if they cared to, easily provide a space for omega drivers to step aside for a moment to quickly and discreetly scent with a mate or pack member as needed. (And before the ‘Alpha Rights’ crowd starts whingeing about this being somehow unfair - yes of course this should be available for alphas to use as well if they want to!)

I have even more thoughts (like how the restrictions on nesting in drivers rooms in the name of ‘professionalism and preventing unfair advantage’ are both infuriating and archaic), but this answer is already fairly long so I’ll leave it off here for now.

new slugcat i called The Forager since i was learning food locations - hat, backpack and tail bag. got joined by a Saintpup i called Bushel in Industrial! :) they helped scale areas for food! i wanted to take my lil' Forager guy to OE this time to hunt for food too but once the Saintpup got involved it was obvious where they had to be taken.

8. Would you trust them to look after: A small child? A houseplant? Your sandwich?

Lmao the problem with Tau looking after anything is that his attention span is not so good. If the small child was in a relatively safe area and Tau didn't have plans to go anywhere, I think I could probably trust him with one...? At least even a small child could get Tau's attention by making noise, so if something needed doing, he'd probably shift his attention back to the kid. You'd probably need to attach reminders to them somehow (things like, "Do not improve" etc.) to be safe though. A houseplant would probably die under Tau's solitary care, unless it was very hardy. He would probably forget the sandwich almost immediately, so as long as no one else is trying to swipe it, that one is probably safe! Again, a note here might be crucial if you expect him to actually keep an eye on it and not experiment on it.

13. Talk about a physical trait of theirs that doesn't get much visibility/attention.

I have a hard time deciding exactly how much of Tau is mechanical and how much is flesh, but one of the few things I have decided on that I really love is that he has a mechanical heart. I love the idea of things like someone hugging him and being a little surprised to hear a sound in his chest (what is he, anyway, everyone wonders? Were they really expecting a noise at all?) BUT hearing absolutely no fluctuation in the beat and it's really more of a ticking, anyway, is somehow both comforting and unnerving...Artificial Heart by Jonathan Coulton is on his playlist, by the way :3

15. What is something they struggle with on a daily basis?

I'd love to default to 'attention span' but that seems cheap since I already mentioned it (and his struggle with ethics is probably best left for silly chats and doodles), so I'm going to go with personhood! He has to come a long way before recognizing himself as an individual! My very favorite quirk about Tau is that he emulates Dottore and other segments when he's conflicted, critiquing himself or others, thinking through a problem, etc., and he gets really lost in it (he's caused damage and injury before without meaning to). It takes a long time for him to stop doing it entirely. Learning to call himself and have others call him by 'Tau' helped immensely.

Ochako's face falls at Izuku's sudden drop in mood, and it hurts when she can tell she's disappointed him. It's ridiculous that she should care about that - he was (is?) a villain! But... even in his anger, he's trying to be understanding. He's holding back his frustrations, at least to an extent.

She doesn't know how that makes her feel.

"...I'm sorry." Ochako finds herself apologizing, eyes downcast as she plays with the fabric of her shirt awkwardly. To be honest, she still doesn't entirely get it. She wants to ask what he means when he says he wouldn't, and when he says he doesn't have a quirk... honestly, it takes her by surprise. It's not something she'd thought about before. But all the comments she's heard throughout her life, about the quirkless... suddenly rush into her head, filling her with shame.

"They... they shouldn't treat you that way." It feels stupid as she says it - obviously, he knows that already - but she still wants to make her feelings clear. But if there really are people out there who think people like Izuku shouldn't exist... how is he supposed to reach them, anyway? Is it even fair to ask him to try?

Ochako bites her lip - she can feel herself growing more and more confused, and she feels like a traitor to herself for even considering the thoughts floating in her mind! All at once, she wants to run away, so that Izuku can't "corrupt" her anymore - but she stays rooted in place, thinking deep down that Izuku doesn't deserve that.

"I guess... I don't like seeing people get hurt. But I don't even really know what you did as a villain, so it's not fair of me to judge you..." She can't help but wonder if Izuku even really is a villain. He seems just like an ordinary boy, like one of her classmates... did the Heroes make a mistake somehow...?
