YES YES YES EXACTLY >:D god I have so many plans that revolve around EXACTLY THAT, like, just, spoilers or whatever lmao but I have a plan for an entry 80 based fic that's in the same timeline as Sorry it's locked is, and like, so, everything happens like the entry right? Jay sees Tim coming out of the building and run away, then Jay goes in and investigates, Alex comes up behind him and he turns round and gets shot. (I'm so sorry this turned into an essay lmfao so I'm hiding it under the thingy bob if that works???)

But this time Alex is crying behind the gun, tears streaming down his face because he abandoned Jay like that to make him hate him, to make him give up on this whole thing so that he didn't bring himself into the whole thing with the Operator. It was fucked up, but he had a good reason (in his mind) for what he was doing. But Jay didn't stop, he still brought himself into all of this so now Alex is forced to kill him to save him from it. (Tho obviously Alex is also not really thinking straight because Operator and all that shit, but y'know)

Cool cool cool anyway THEN, then Alex kinda realises what he's done, he gets this deviating moment of clarity and he chases after Jay as he runs away, and Jay collapses before he can get into that room where he dies, and Alex just holds Jay while he dies. And like, Jay, having kinda wised up a little and realised just how shitty their situation had been, tries to push him away, because he doesn't want to be held by Alex while he dies, not after Alex shot him, not after everything that happened between them in the past. Right?

Jay wishes Tim was there because they've grown closer and he's kinda realised through that just how shit his and Alex's situation had been through his relationship with Tim. But also like, Tim ziptied him and left him at his house and all that, and in Jay's mind that was abandonment like how Alex abandoned him, kinda. Y'know??? (This poor man is so incredibly traumatized lmfao anyway)

Jay tries to push Alex away while he's cradling him as he dies, and he knows he's dying, but he's too weak to push himself out of Alex's arms. But he's too weak both physically and mentally. Because as much as he hates Alex, and as much as he's gotten better since they last saw each other, he hasn't fully healed so he can't even find it in himself to blame Alex for what's happening, to even be upset about it really. He's just glad he got to see Alex in person one last time, he's just happy that he got to be held lovingly by Alex again.

I'm sorry I have SO many thoughts about them, my boyfriend helped me plan out SO much fucking angst it's not even funnyyyyyyy. Like oh god my plans for Alex after Jay dies????? What he does next??? Fucking soul crushing angst, I'm actually gonna lose my mind over this fic it is the most important thing to ever exist to me and I will actually lose my mind if I don't get to tell people about it.

g1 is a masterpiece

recently I've been watching transformers g1 and let me say...anybody who hasn't seen this show is MISSING OUT 

scattered thoughts...this show is SOOOO FUCKING FUNNYYYYYYY never have I been more confident in my g1 tag being ‘g1 is a comedy’ BC IT IS

literally every ep I watch I end up laughing out loud multiple times. its THAT funny

just like...so many different things...the animation errors are obviously hilarious, and the animation in general makes for some truly hysterical moments, and just like...the completely weird visual storytelling choices at times

also the voice acting can be. Sure Something. plus the lines being read are often just so strange hvbhdjkhbfjhksa

also the scene transitions (with the autobot/decepticon symbols flipping) are often SO abrupt that it really gives so many scenes the same vibe as a modern shitpost - the fast cuts between things, the abruptness, it’s all there

the sound effects too oh my god. like...they rlly just lifted like, SO many sound fx from star wars huh. they were like we don't feel like making our own sound fx or anything and star wars is cool soooo

also like. the plots, of course. a lot of episodes just have completely batshit stories and something I str8 up have no clue what's going on due to a combination of weird pacing/storytelling and copious animation errors

so obviously it’s like, extremely funny and hilarious and that's a lot of the reason I love it so much. but also its just fun to watch??

plus I love seeing the OG ORIGIN of all of the transformers stuff. like, there’s so little lore that its obvious that a lot of stuff came from later series (like beast wars), but its still got a lot of the groundwork! 

also I gotta say. peter cullen is so fantastic as optimus prime. I feel like his performance alone really saves the show from being a total comedy - like, he just imbues optimus with such a strong leader-ly sort of vibe, I can’t even explain it but everything g1 optimus does I'm like, Oh I Trust You Robot Dad. like, he’s just so patient and wise and trustworthy idek, and I feel like it all comes down to peter cullen’s voice acting - if optimus sounded goofy or weird it would be game over but cullen sells it so well

oh and holy shit I love megatron and starscreams dynamic like, so fucking much. its so fucking entertaining lmaooo they're both just so rude oh my god. there's also a lot more back-and-forth/it’s a lot more of a two-way street bc nothing in g1 has to make sense, so starscream can be completely rude all the time and constantly try to undermine megatrons authority/usurp him as leader and megatron doesn't really do anything permanent about it, unlike shows that actually try to have a modicum of logic to them like tfa and tfp

but like in this instance I'm glad to forgo logical seriousness in favor of goofiness bc their interactions are so fucking fun lmao. like in tfa we don't actually see a lot of megatron and starscream interacting much bc they're never really on the same side, and in tfp there's a way more noticeable imbalance with starscream leaning a lot more to the ‘secretly backstabbing’ side of things, rather than ‘str8 up rude’ which I much prefer

like, g1 starscream in general is just such a riot, I love him. and I love when megatron or starscream makes an actual good suggestion and the other one is like No That's Fucking Stupid just bc of who said it lmaooooo

in terms of the autobots I just love how they make so little effort to introduce any of them to us hvbhjakhbdsfks so many times ruth and I were just like ‘WHO THE FUCK IS THAT’ bc some new guy is just Suddenly Here, and the animation errors sure didn't help 

its extra funny when they're like, in the middle of a battle or something and an autobot who was previously not present at all is just suddenly There and its like WAIT WHEN THE FUCK DID THIS GUY GET HERE lmfao

and the fact that there are SO many autobots and like 12 decepticons is so funny. the autobots just keep increasing in number too

alsoooo it cracks me up that the opening says ‘robots in disguise’ and also that's obvs a big tagline for the show/toys but they're never really In Disguise as in hiding from the humans or anything lmao

I just adore how things just Happen in g1. its like Yeah Ok this Fuckshit is happening now and you (the viewer) have to deal with it. enjoy fucko 

and like, the way that the characters jump to completely wack conclusions is SO funny like...that one ep where megatron is like ‘ok obviously the best way to get the autobots to go down into crystal hell crevasse is to clone optimus prime and have the clone lure them down, while also allowing the real optimus prime to still stick around and cause problems for me. genius!’ and that one ep where perceptor is like ‘well the obvious solution here is to shrink ourselves down and go into megatrons body to get the macguffin’ BFSHDKBFJK like these are the IMMEDIATE first things they think of and other episodes do this too lmaoooo its magical 

also the human characters...I love how little regard the autobots have for child safety, they really just bring spike to active warzones All The Time...if somebody ever asked why I feel like they'd just be like ‘he’s bumblebees best buddy they like to hang out :)’ but its like hvbhjadksfbajsh guys you don't even make him wear a seatbelt, jesus christ, and like HOW many times has ravage almost murdered spike, oh my GOD,

ok well I think my favorite episode so far is triple takeover bc it has THE largest amount of wack bullshit out of any episode I've seen, it’s literally SO funny and not a single sensical thing happens the entire episode. its so beautiful 

I defs gotta watch more, but ruth and I just started beast wars so we’ll be watching that, which is a hilarious contrast to g1 in almost every way, but we’ll toss some g1 eps in there on occasion so maybe ill add to this post later but for now...this has been my scattered thoughts on tf g1. goodbye and good night
