I listened to Carly Rae Jepsen ‘s new album The Loneliest Time

This chick is the Canadian Queen of Pop. I do not think this album is her best but it is really good. It’s a great vibe. So Groovy. And I love the organization the transitions feel clean. Also, I really enjoyed the production. Carly’s vocals are always on point. Her lyrics are simple but paint a picture. There a few tracks I will add to my rotation and I would not mind this album on a road trip.

I’ll give you my thoughts on each track:

Surrender My Heart

Wow what a introduction to this album! This song is so sweet. She makes this seem easy

Joshua Tree

This song is a vibeeeeeee.

Talking to Yourself

This song is already in my steady rotation. Love it 🥰

Far Away

I actually really like the production of this track. Feels very mid late 80s wide. I like wide grandiose music but not overpowering. Like it just sits neatly and serves its purpose.

Sideways

Cute song.

Beach House

Already in my rotation. Lol this song is so cute. A good summer song.

Bends

I like this song and I like the placement on the album. It feels like a great transition into the middle of the album.

Western Winds

I like this song. I think it flows neatly from Bends. It’s chill.

So Nice

This song is a groove. I love a wakawakawaka guitar grove. This is a great intro into the 3rd quarter of the album

Bad Thing Twice

Love this transition from so Nice to this song. Ugh this album arrangement is so clean. Love this song. Love the bass line. 👌

Again great closer to the groovy section of the album.

I like this song. A good cool down song.

Just a disco groove. The tiktok snippet isn’t the same as the song. But it is a good sound-byte.

Love the vibe. This is going to sound weird but the production feels like running your hand over alligator skin and hitting a large flexible sheet of metal.

Aww I like the production. The twirly sound and with the wind instruments. Creates such a dream vibe.
