"nah, just my shoulder. nothing major. didn't even need mending, which, thank the gods considering the only mender around here doesn't know he's a fucking mender." it just felt like everything was piling up, every little thing that might have been fine to deal with on its own, was only worse because of how much was already on all of their plates. between the memories being fucked, fen being alive and hating her, xaden's-- everything was too much to handle all at once and vi was tired. "hey, uh.. speaking of people being alive.. have you," she let out a shaky breath, even thinking about liam still sending a lump into her throat. "that's why it should be me. he did it for me, imogen. i owe it to him to stop him if he goes to far. we.. we already made that deal. we know this'll only end with us both in the ground."

imogen couldn't help but burst out laughing at violet telling them that fen had stabbed her. that was on par with something that she thought would happen. "how did xaden react to that one?" she asked between laughs. "I'm sorry for laughing, that's just so fucking funny - first time meeting daddy-o and he stabbed you!" they didn't exactly feel bad for laughing, it was a funny situation to her and she knew that in a while vi would probably see the funny side of it, or at least they hoped she would. "he didn't hit anything vital did he?" imogen knew that with fen back and lilith being here, there would probably be another war with just the two of them and poor violet and xaden being stuck in the middle of all of it. "I think the last year has just been a load of shit that we've had to deal with quickly and now things aren't happening, it's all come crashing back down," and it didn't exactly help that they'd just been reunited with their sister - that was a whole other story that imogen wasn't getting into right now, it was still too fresh - like everything else. but she didn't have any other choice but to talk about the shit that had happened to xaden. "your mom is a hardass at the best of times, but with all of this going on, I think she might end up being worse, especially with fen around," everyone knew the history of what happened. imogen knew it well, the rebellion had cost them their mother and sister. "that's shit," she sighed. "is there nothing? have you both checked every library?" they asked. "I'm sure there must be something here, or at least some other sort of information we might be able to use to help the idiot," imogen had never really been good at academic things, she was better at fighting - but did know a fair bit about history. "I just wish the library from basgaith was here, the whole thing and not just the watered-down shit they let us all read." she sighed. "I just wish certain people from basgaith were here, maybe we'd be able to torture some more information out of them - like what the fuck they were doing with barlowe or what they wanted with him." maybe that would yield some answers. imogen sighed, shaking her head. "hey, don't think of that just now - we'll figure something out, we don't need to go down that route - and you certainly shouldn't be the one to do it, you're too attached." it should be someone else, not violet. imogen wouldn't let her do that to herself. killing the man she loves.

Dragon Quest VI is one of my favorite games because I am a weirdo with strange opinions, so now I'll submit an ask about it since I'm thinking about it. What would the boys (including the sequel/OC/Backstory Links) dream world selves be like?

To try and provide an explanation just in case, it's sort of like "dream selves" are the sort of manifestation of what people want to be, with some influence from who they actually are. Like how Carver, who in the "real world" was just a carpenter's son, became a wandering martial artist in the dream world with an (as far as the dream characters could tell) inexplicable knack for carpentry that he didn't care much for.

Gen has a fairly realistic view of himself and wouldn't be very different at all. He might have more medical supplies, and probably a more effective bedside attitude (i.e. one that actually gets people to sit down and stay down when he tells them to) but other than that, he's fairly normal

Speck would be at least a little bit taller

The Four want to break synch without a feedback headache, but that's honestly about it. They're not terribly ambitious

Ocarina looks exactly the same. It's only upon interacting with him that his personality becomes completely different - confident, no-nonsense, laid back and able to handle anything thrown his way

Rune remembers. Sort of? He's clearly operating with the confidence of someone who remembers, but whenever he's asked what, exactly, he's remembered, he gets very quiet in a confused sort of way
