Ok, so I’m a bird nerd, so get ready for an incomprehensible ramble as I try to identify and think about the symbolism of all these wings.

*inhale*

Ok, so Wind’s are for sure albatross/seagull/some type of sea bird, that’s pretty on the nose, but it also fits his mischievous and restless personality.

Wars’ are yes, big and black and bold, but they are also close to RAVEN WINGS. Or Crows. Some kind of Corvid, typically thought of as the most cunning and intelligent birds, very good at strategy. They’re also birds associated with battlefields.

Twilight has small bird of prey wings, probably closest to a falcon! Birds associated with hunting, freedom, fierceness…kind of like the wolves of Aves.

Time’s is obviously magical/fairy inspired (which I LOVE), but also look like hummingbird wings! (Something, something, looks like the wings aren’t in time, something, something, make a humming noise like an ocarina)

Sky’s was probably the hardest to figure out! I thought it was owl-like at first but it was too fluffy, so I tried looking at waterfowl (I know, strange, but they have fluffy down!) and his matches egret wings really well! Which is super cool, because egrets are known in a lot of mythology as being connections to the divine and symbols of purity.

Legend’s looks a lot like budgie/parakeet wings lol. Which is kind of funny, but also they are part of the parrot family, which is known for being very quick and learning and picking up both language and motor skills! They’re also pretty colorful lol

Hyrule’s is just straight up fairy. My boy’s too magical for birds lol

Wild’s was harder, due to the vibrant blue that was chosen to match his Sheikah prosthetic (which is SO COOL), but shape wise they look similar to Kestral wings! Or another small bird of prey! Either way it’s a wing built for hovering and traveling long distances!

Four’s is pretty close to a macaw wing! Also from the parrot family, they’re not as good at language as parakeets, but are VERY smart with motor skills and puzzles!

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!
