What is the 'captainverse' shit? I always just ignored it tbh but I have seen many incels justify shipping the canon lesbians with men because 'captain is canonically male so all valks are bi' when as far as I can tell captain is canonically not fucking real as the only captain of the hyperion ever mentioned is Himeko.
Hmmm so I'd like to avoid being overly negative. I'll answer you, but watch your tone in the future.
Captainverse was a storyline that spanned a ton of events over multiple years. It concluded last year or so with one final fluffy event after all the drama. The Captainverse storyline isn't relevant to the main story of Hi3 but happens in the Sea of Quanta, so it would be "real" in that sense.
Bronie AKA Haxxor Bunny (has an expy in Honkai Star Rail named Silver Wolf, which you may be familiar with) appears briefly in the Moon Arc, and one of Misteln's Stigmata children seemed to hail from her world. There's also suspicious wish-granting devices in the sea that may or may not link back to Sa's shenanigans, but we don't have proof of that (plus those were written long before Sa was).
The main character of the Captainverse is an ex high-ranking Schicksal captain hailing from an alternate world to the Main Story's, referred to only as... "Captain". There's also another recurring person named "Ferryman" who turned out to be a hopeless version of Captain due to some time shenanigans. He has his own Hyperion, separate from the one in canon. I think his original backstory was being sent on some mission by Otto in the Sea? He was originally designed as a self-insert but later became his own character.
Captainverse has ship tease with some girls, but there's also plenty of girls who show zero romantic interest in the Captain, so you've been told a generalization. The main "ships" with the Captain are two Theresas who aren't actually called Theresa: the vampire Luna and the immortal tactician Kongming. Captain saved their lives at great cost to himself... the fireworks...
Many of these stories are quite well-told and may bring you to tears TuT
Oh, Captainverse actually has its fair share of sapphics. If you like that, it's a shame you never gave it a chance. For example, Kasumi (amnesiac Sakura with extra steps) and a Kallen from a different world found each other in Captainverse and seem well on their way to find the happy ending they never got in the main story due to things such as "dying". Kasumi's origin story event was also a direct result of Kallen being in love with Sakura...
@sacron1143 knows the most about actual Captainverse lore, so best to ask there if you're genuinely curious. Don't bother if you're gonna be a hater though. There's also this document but I'm not sure it's fully up to date.
I hope that gave you sufficient context! That said, I think you're better off just ignoring what the people you don't agree with do for fun. Clearly, neither of you are arguing in good faith to begin with.
#asks#honkai impact#hi3#captainverse#hi3 lore#sooorta#sushang has canonically looked at otto and gone he's pretty regardless of gender#himeko kissed some dude she went on a date with in the manga#can we not be so protective of sapphics we turn biphobic#twisting a well-written story to make it seem worthless and “incel bait” because a girl likes a guy in it#does not make you superior to someone twisting the story to feel better about shipping m/f#y'all are doing the same thing.#these girls aren't real but you know who is real? bi people stuck in the middle of these petty fights#just block and move on

Have you heard of the new show Wild Manes? What's your opinion about it?
I have been watching it!
I find it very pleasant and I enjoy it. In fact, the show feels like it would fit perfectly alongside shows from the 2003-2008 era, like Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, Horseland, and of course G3 MLP.
And I for one, love that. It's nostalgic even though it's brand new, and I've been wishing so hard to see shows appear that make that happen. It's like that feeling we all wish we could have again of watching our favorite childhood shows for the first time.
I've been sitting with the popcorn watching the mixed reactions from Bronies. The consensus is that G5 is a total flop and we're all craving something better to fill the void. I've seen about 75% of videos hyping it up "Will this be the NEW MLP???" and the rest calling it "Bootleg Ripoff" and at worst just hating on it for all the same reasons they blasted G3.
Wild Manes is a comfort show. Not something action-packed and profound with deep lore like G4 was, and it shouldn't be compared as such. These other shows I mentioned above have an audience of an entirely different set of people that Bronies often refuse to accept exist.
We do also love profound shows like G4, but the kinds of people who exclusively like G4-type shows have a hard time accepting different genres if they're not exactly the same... and tend to shame the people who have different tastes as if everything else is objectively "bad".
Imagine a person who refuses to eat anything but chicken tenders getting on a high horse and insulting a foodie for enjoying more foods than just chicken tenders.
As for my review of the show so far:
They're doing VERY well with storytelling for being limited to a 5-minute runtime, and if they ever get the chance to do more, I think they have great potential to have amazing stories. The "You're probably wondering how we ended up here" gimmick at the beginning of each episode, which is jarring to some people, would be way more enjoyable with a full 20-minute episode. In fact, it's VERY refreshing to see a cartoon doing something different for once.
As I said, I love how the show makes me feel. The art style is great. The background art is great. There's no villains or monsters or world-ending scenarios at stake, which is again, refreshing.
(Another thing Bronies tend to not realize is some people just don't want to watch characters fighting 24-7. High-stakes episodes are enjoyable once in a while, but how can it be special if that's how things just are all the time? I don't know about anyone else, but big battles to save the world are a lot more meaningful to me when we've spent some time living happily in that world to sympathize and understand why it's worth defending.)
And sometimes, I just want to watch cute characters have fun and live life, where the worst of the problems is a minor disagreement with your friend that gets worked out in the end. A world I can wish I lived in.
My only biggest complaint so far is that I wish the hair moved. You'd think with such a focus on hair, they'd have some real physics in the animation.
But again, they're just starting out. Surely things will improve if it takes off.

Things I noticed about the music-realm of the fnaf fandom as of recently.
[From the person who did Paranormal Powerhouse]
My brain just fired an interesting set of neurons. I was thinking about how JT Music "remastered" some of his older fnaf songs, like Join us for a Bite, and Five Long Nights. Usually, JT Music never misses with his songs. Except for when he redoes them. Normally, I would describe the remakes of feeling too processed and the OGs more organic, but that's too vague for my point to get across.
I got a Reel on my feed the other day about the new Beetlejuice movie that showed images of behind the scenes pictures from the original movie, and the new one. One of the comments said that although the new movie was good, Beetlejuice's outfit from the original felt more authentic, and the new one felt too much like it was a costume. (I can see it in the hair most, imo.)
That's how I would describe this situation with JT Music. Heck, even just current Fnaf Fan songs in general.
I haven't heard any new fnaf songs that stuck out to me in a while. To me, the new ones just sound like someone just picked a cool synth and played 4 chords and went "OOG THE BEAR IS APPROACHING~" lmao.
Idk they just sound less...from the heart. Compare the "You might look at me-" "-you're not alone, Baby" part of the original Join us For a Bite, and the remake. They got rid of the huge chords the vocals did on "crazy," and the delivery doesn't sound like she's about to lose it. She just sings it and the autotune does the rest.
A number of other songwriters that made pretty good songs back then have fallen off too, I noticed.
Idk if it's because this is how these artists are making a living, so they gotta pump out content all the time. Tryhardninja has been uploading multiple music videos for songs from like, 2016. (They're good animations though.) It's all in the matter of taste though, I guess.
But it's a shame, because all the older songs that were fire, the writers ended being creeps, or have just been absent from the internet or the fandom for a while. Mandopony's songs felt like they came straight out of a musical. They made great use of harmonization, and painting a scene in your head. [I've never come across a song made by a brony that was mid.] That kind of style has yet to be replicated, because I don't want him returning anytime soon.
Idk what happened to Groundbreaking, other than he stopped making fnaf music specifically, but he was really good at writing character, and catchy instrumental breaks. The sounds he chose for each character song fit them very well. His style was very electronic and industrial.
Similar notes for Griffinilla, with the added bonus of the scenes in Stay Calm. Then he turned into Fandroid. His Freddy song is pretty good too. The lyrics are pretty generic, but I like the wacky instruments used. Not a fan of the Ballora song. I did recently hear about him being a groomer though. Can't have nothin in Hurricane.
Shameless plugin, that's why when I wrote Paranormal Powerhouse, (and Bolts4Brains) I was taking those aspects into account. I never hear vocals harmonize anymore, or singing in character, or silly voices in general. Those add texture, imo. The instruments I chose were very specific. I wanted it to sound mechanical and haunting, while keeping the overall lighthearted campy nature these games have, thus, the title of the song. (Totally has nothing to do with the level "Lava Powerhouse" from Sonic Spinball.) Even the drums are meant sound like clunky robotic movement.
The Genesis is capable of very harsh and edgy sounds, which would be perfect for the industrial side. It's capable of atmospheric sounds as well, ex. Ecco the Dolphin. It also shares a soundchip with arcade cabinets from at least mid 80s, so I tried to replicate instruments from certain arcade games, because FFP has an arcade. The Snes plugin was used for softer sounds the Genesis couldn't achieve the way I wanted, like the wonky piano.
I did add a sort of autotune to my vocals, but a real quality autotune plugin costs money, so I used Reaper's built in manual pitch correction. On top of that, I added a light chorus effect for the main melody, and a bit crush at that part where Phone Guy starts to break it down, and the animatronics provide a counter melody, leading up to Chica's solo.
Idk maybe I'm just not in the loop with the current music scape, and when I am, I just get really unlucky. It's hard to tell, because I hardly ever come across a fnaf fan that's also a music nerd. Like I'm just finding videos talking about the Watch Your 6 motif. Did we all like subconsciously know this and just decide to talk about it, or did the right people just start noticing it at the right time?

stock dancing but it's all the fandoms i've ever been in
despite tumblr's accounts being called blogs, this is probably going to be the only "blog post" that I'll ever post. at least in the near future.
it's going to be a long one. disclaimer, it will contain some talk of things like fandom discourse, as well of mentions of Dead Dove topics, so scroll away if you need.
it will also be pretty personal, so I'm not adding all the tags for the fandoms and characters. this is mostly to those who know me.
I'll start at the beginning, in the best chronological order that I can remember. Not by order of appearance in the video, because I kept forgetting what came first when drawing the frames.
My Little Pony (Rarity) and Warrior Cats (Firestar)
These were my very first "fandoms." Before I even went to school, I discovered MLP on the television. I then proceeded to draw those stupid little ponies on the desk and some plastic containers. Thankfully it was with pencil, and not on any important containers and whatnot. Very glad I'm not a brony now, and very glad there was a human version so I didn't have to make a pony awkwardly dance.
Warrior cats was a series I read for a long time. I don't remember when I dropped it, but I just ended up losing interest. It has been stretched out by a lot by now, I believe. Warrior cats was also the first fandom that I "participated" in, by using Amino. Somehow, miraculously, I got out unscathed. By that, I mean no "safe adults" or suspicious people approached me. Not that I would've fallen for it after listening to internet safety week. Firestar is at the end of the animation because, well, it's difficult to make a non-anthro cat dance the same way as people do.
It's funny, because these two are most associated with people becoming furries later on in life, and somehow I am the only one who doesn't take much of an interest in furries within my friend group.
LittleBigPlanet (Sackboy) and Vocaloid (Miku)
LBP wasn't something that I was really "in a fandom" for, but I definitely really enjoyed playing it with my best friend and even made my own username based on it. I remember playing LBP, LBP2, and LBP3, and the disaster that was LBP3 because after finishing the story, none of it would load properly. Tons of surfaces and props would just be missing. Still, it's a nice game to look back on.
I will be honest, this is probably the first Miku I've drawn. Vocaloid has just been a thing in my life since discovering it back... I don't remember when, but the first music that went in playlists of music I liked to listen to was generally made with vocaloid or other voice synthesizers. Miku has always been there, somehow.
*not to be mistaken with AI voice generators, as people actually agree to provide their voice for the voice synthesizers
Marvel (Winter Soldier), Pokemon (Misty), Yandere Simulator (stand in- Vera)
I never drew anything for Marvel, except for the above frame. My family watched it when I was younger, everyone watched it before it started falling off after the infinity stones thing got resolved. The only reason I put it here was because I definitely read fanfiction for it, and definitely thought there was something fruity about america and his best friend. I mean, you find yourself in the future and everyone you've ever known is dead except wait, your best friend isn't, but he's brainwashed and now you have to kill him, so you betray the government and all your new friends instead to try and reach him. Shame that kind of story was stuck in the mcu.
Pokemon was an interesting phase. I drew Pokemon in ms paint, but never any of the humans. I had (still have some) Pokemon plushes and watched the first Pokemon anime on Netflix when it was still on there. I also watched the one with Serena. This was also the fandom that I first discovered porn. And tentacles. So if you ask me why, it's because of Pokemon. It's rather funny, because once again, I seem to be the only one in the friend group who doesn't take an interest in Pokemon anymore.
Yandere Simulator was discovered in elementary school. Because it's been shown that the dev was found to be interacting inappropriately with minors, I have not drawn the protagonist of the game and instead used an OC of mine as a stand in. All you need to know about Vera is that he is not a good person. I used to draw for this fandom back in my Amino days, just a bit, but ended up dropping it because of more and more people pointing out his incompetency. Plus, the complaint that to do anything in game you would have to watch the videos on YouTube, thus making a blind playthrough impossible. As well as his "sex license" comment, which was more than enough to turn me away from that game.
That aside, YanSim was my first exposure to the "yandere" trope- the obsessive, possessive type characters. In the game, it was done in a very bland way, but I like the general idea of the trope. Its influence still drives me towards certain preferences of mine in other fandoms, but I'd rather attribute that to Araki, who apparently popularized the trope with Yukako. I guess this is probably where my interest in "bad things happening in fiction" started.
Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (Sketchbook), Don't Starve (Willow), Cookie Run (Roguefort Cookie)
Initially, DHMIS was going to be my second or third fandom on the list, but I realized that I got into it when I was old enough to have an email address, and not before. Hence, now it's down here. I ended up using that popular design of the human sketchbook to be recognizable. It was an interesting fandom, and also another from my Amino days. I don't know who came up with the idea of the sketchbook and the clock having a love-hate relationship, but looking back on it, they might've been cooking. I remember joining a discord server for it, having my phone get taken away, and then coming back and the server was about the grinch. I also remember that this was the first time I actually interacted with the community and talking to the others within the fandom, since the Amino community was pretty small. I look back at it and cringe, because there are so many things I did for attention. Instead of linking back to a person, I would put emojis around the link with sunglasses and pointing hands saying "This idea came from 😎 👉 this person." All that aside, this is probably where my interest in horror started.
The only reason I remembered that I was technically in the Don't Starve fandom was because I went looking in my folder of drawings and found some there. Then I remembered that yes, I had also read fanfiction for it. Mostly, though, it was a videogame that I played with my family. I ended up using the charcoal pencil brush here for Willow, instead of the pen, to mimic the artstyle just a bit.
Cookie Run is a fandom that I was in, and only get back in briefly whenever Roguefort is in an event. I also first discovered it due to an artist on tumblr who I followed for DHMIS. No idea where they are now because I can't remember the correct spelling of the username. Other than that, I just play the game, which I have been playing since before high school. Now I am out of high school. It was also the fandom that I believe was probably responsible for a good amount of my early art improvement, due to some art challenge where you drew every cookie. Overall, fond memories, but I'd rather not return to the fandom. Too much drama, too many people making big fusses over dumb shit. The Valentine's Day video being an especially dumb one, especially when you consider that maybe, putting in offensive stereotypes contributes to bad perceptions of real life people vs some ship between biscuits. I even remember asking, when I was younger, "Should I ship Pink Choco cookie with White Choco cookie or Hero cookie? I can't decide." Poor little me didn't know about multishipping, and the answer I got was that "Some people headcanon the Choco cookies as siblings, so it's safer to ship her with Hero." Well, now that I'm older, I have decided that I don't have the energy to act like fictional ships anywhere near the same level as real relationships and problems, and would probably ship both were I still interested in the fandom.
Team Fortress 2 (Sniper), Doki Doki Literature Club (Monika), Jojo's Bizzare Adventure (Kakyoin)
Yes, I was in the TF2 fandom. I barely played the game but I usually played as Medic when I did. I also realize that as I type this out, this might have been the original old men thing. Or at least, some of the oldest. I drew them a lot, and I wrote a fic that I orphaned some years later out of shame. It had a werewolf in it for some reason, and was multiple chapters. Although each chapter was only about 1000 words, compared to my current long-term multichapter fic which easily have 2000+ a chapter. Well, aside from that, I don't know why I liked Sniper the most. He throws piss in bottle and I will say, piss is something I avoid if I can. It's in my muted words somewhere.
I never personally played DDLC. I did watch playthrough of it, and seeing people's reactions to some of the stuff was always enjoyable. Yes, Monika was my favorite, and still is. I can't say with certainty why she is, but maybe I just found her the most interesting out of all the characters. This fandom I remember drawing for because this is where one of my OCs originated from, although that character I am only really remembering as I type this out, despite repurposing her.
JJBA. I cannot say that I look back at my time here happily. This is probably where I first started learning about the current state of fandom (ie, Not Good) and getting a bit of personal experience with it. At the time, I did enjoy it. I enjoyed talking in a ship server (A) about it, and another general server (B) about it. It was great and all, until A started blowing up. Which wouldn't be a problem if it didn't have a blacklist of topics that anyone could add to. They're useful in smaller circles, yes, but in large public servers, most things are going to end up being blacklisted. I remember dresses and "positive talk about mothers" being blacklisted, and eventually I got too anxious that I would say something on the blacklist to speak at all. B was okay, and I even tried to get over my fear of talking to strangers in voice chat by joining one during a whiteboard or something similar where everyone draws on the same canvas. I later ended up deleting all 200+ of my messages there and leaving. Why? Because the members of the server did not know the concept of "block and move on." "Scroll away." "Ignore things that you don't like online." A popular artist in the fandom was brought up and the people started trashing on them because of their wedding, which was apparently themed with the favorite JoJo ship. (But honestly, if someone wanted to theme their wedding to a ship I would respect the hell out of them.) The reason I ended up leaving that server was because they started saying stuff like, "It's creepy and weird, because the characters are minors so there's probably something wrong with that person," and implying such things over a JoJo ship of all things. (And, it gets into the territory of the "violent videogames are the cause of vioence" argument. Do you think that because I particularly enjoy using shotguns in videogames because I find them satisfying means that I want to go out and shoot real people with a shotgun? The state of gun control in the US is awful, and if anything, I want less guns.) And, generally, judging things by how "weird" they are rather than whether it harms or helps people is too arbitrary of a measure. Unfortunately, this was far from the last time that I would see serious accusations made on the basis of dumb shit, and now I am doubtful of most callout posts.
Other than that, at least I know all the Jojo references people complain about seeing all the time. Although, now that I'm not into JoJo, I don't actually see that many jokes about it.
Helltaker (Malina) and Weak Hero (Alex)
Malina gets two frames because she unluckily got the one that did not show her face. I can't say I remember much about the Helltaker community, but this was the community that I posted on Reddit to. Since then I have not used Reddit, but it was a good game and people seemed nice, at least from what I remember. Azazel was the one I drew the most, but Malina is a gamer girl, so I chose her for this.
I only remember Weak Hero because I saw that I drew a total of two images for this fandom. I discovered it on Webtoon, and joined a server which I have long since left, and that's all I can remember. Other than that, it was a webtoon with fighting and that's all I can say.
Omori (Omori) and Genshin Impact (Xinyan)
Omori was the first rpgmaker game I actually drew things for, although most of these drawings consisted of Sweetheart. Although I do like Ib and The Witch's House and Corpse Party, I never really went into the fandom. There wasn't much else to it, but the plot of Omori was good and it led me to discover one of my favorite artists, who, unfortunately, has left the internet. I wish them well.
Xinyan is here because she was and still is one of my favorites from the game. I wish she got better treatment from the game, especially gameplay-wise. I haven't drawn much for this game, due to the level of detail on outfits, but I did still play it for two years and read fanfiction for it. Lately I've just been watching videos for the story quest, though. Uninstalling it gave me 50+ GB back of space on my computer. About the Genshin fandom... JoJo may have been my first real bad experience with how online communities are, but this was my first time seeing how widespread it was. Lots of baseless accusations, fighting over headcanons, telling people awful things because they dislike a character... Well, the post that says the best way to enjoy fandom is to enjoy it with a small circle becomes more and more correct.
OC era (Left to Right- Aster @/sepialkali, Lucy @/hattiestgal, Alason @/moonlightguardianmoon, Zion @/sweet-pattycakes, Bisu/Sparrow @/monarch-orien, and Danaus)
For this one I realized that I had leftover blank frames at the end of the animation, and asked my friends for their ocs to fill in. This era lasted a very long time, and started because I discovered Tupperbox. Since then, my characters have become a lot less watered down as I drifted away from roleplay, and most of the things I do with them is just art now. Two of them are getting a sort of visual novel story thing made of them though, if that counts for anything.
Nu:Carnival (Kuya), Stardew Valley (Elliott), Wildfrost (Tusk)
Despite playing this game for a sizeable amount of time, the most I've done for this fandom was read fics and draw an event character once. Somehow, despite the bland gameplay, I have made a habit of continuing to play the game. I used Kuya because he's the only character I consistently roll for.
I first played Stardew Valley a long time ago without mods, and then forgot about it for a few years. When I came back to it earlier this year, I thought it would be funny to install mods that makes characters into crazy yanderes. It was definitely entertaining, although most of them were pretty standard. I will give massive props to whoever made the Elliott one, because they added events and schedule changes and a lot more than just dialogue changes. Anyways, the reason this is here is because I decided, on a whim one day, to start writing a very long fic for Stardew. This was at the beginning of the year, and it is not even halfway through right now. Then I lost interest in the game while retaining an interest in writing the fic, somehow.
Wildfrost I picked up near the beginning of the year. It doesn't have much of a story, and there's little fanart because of that, but the character designs are pretty good. I still play it daily, and Tusk is still a good unit, because it's basically free damage.
Honkai Star Rail (Peepaw Welt), The Greatest Estate Developer (Lloyd), The Coffin of Andy and Leyley (Ashley)
Honkai Star Rail remains on my computer, but I cannot find the energy to open and play it. Each new character becomes its own meta, and the gameplay loop isn't that enjoyable anymore. During the time that I did, however, I had my 50/50s ruined twice by Welt, which is why he is here. Otherwise I would've chosen Tingyun or Yanqing instead. Gameplay aside, I am lucky to have found a good community for this fandom through a ship server, as an almost complete mirror of the previous servers I was in for JoJo. They are what keeps me in the fandom.
TGED was a very short era that lasted for less than a month. During that time, however, I was afflicted by the demons, and drew and even wrote a decent amount (at least for my standards.) Funnily enough, what drove me away from it was the server I was in for it. This fandom is a very small one, and so the server had probably the majority of active fandom members that could speak English. What made me leave was the poor moderation and some immaturity from some members. Links to NSFW fanart was allowed in the same channel as SFW fanart, NSFW conversations wouldn't always be in the NSFW channel... Which, if it was an adults only server, would've been fine, but it is not, and I feel that this server is a genuine safety concern with the NSFW problem.
TCOAAL was a game I watched a playthrough of when it first came out, and then I saw the chaos that happened when it blew up with the release of the second chapter. I personally found it very entertaining, with the way people didn't have a problem with cannibalism and murder and cults until they found out there was an ending with incest, and suddenly the game was a bad game you shouldn't play. Although if you look at the Steam reviews most people don't care because, well, it's only a game. This game also served as a bit of a precursor. I find codependency in ships interesting, but I am only slightly interested in the game. I don't think about it that much, for some reason. Maybe that'll change when more chapters are released.
The S-Classes That I Raised (Han Yoojin)
If you take a quick scroll through my account, you can probably tell that this is my current fandom. Funnily enough, the server that brought me into this was one I joined while trying to get out of TGED. I suppose it only worked because I read it on Webtoon awhile ago. This server is a lot better kept, although maybe it's because it's strictly an 18+ server. As well as that, it's a smaller community within the fandom, because the server's subject is inherently tied to one of the Big Dead Dove topics, so there's a lot less worrying about drama starting over that sort of stuff. To my mutuals, I will not talk about weird dead dove stuff that I'm into unless asked to, so don't worry about it. Some sort of codependency just makes me go crazy. Unfortunately, I was not able to fit him next to another image to make Tumblr make him smaller, and had to remove one of Malina's frames to fit the 30 image limit.
If any of my friends are reading all the way down to here, thanks! I'm very lucky to have you guys as friends, and I hope we can stay friends for a long time.

Boys Like Girl Leads Too
Recently, an animated adaptation of the comic strip Phoebe and Her Unicorn was cancelled by Nickelodeon, who claimed that boys won't watch cartoons with female protagonists. This incident shows how out of touch TV executives are with the audiences of their shows.
Contrary to popular belief, gender doesn't matter. A good show is a good show, and if it's good, then anyone, including boys, can watch it, and history has proven that time and time again. Here are just a few examples:
Winsome Witch is a series of Hanna-Barbera shorts that aired during The Secret Squirrel Show. Even in the 1960s, Hanna-Barbera knew that boys can watch shows with female leads. Winsome Witch is about a witch named Winnie, and the magical mishaps she gets into. She's just as clumsy and hilarious as any other male H-B character, and she doesn't have a sidekick. While she is obscure nowadays, that's just because the various backup segments in Hanna-Barbera shows aren't very well-known in general.
Also from Hanna-Barbera is The Perils of Penelope Pitstop, a spinoff of Wacky Races, featuring one of the most popular characters, Penelope Pitstop. She dresses in pink and is often a damsel in distress, but she's still able to save herself, and sometimes even saves the all-male Ant Hill Mob. If there's one thing H-B was good at, it was keeping in touch with their audience. If you look at the Amazon reviews for the complete series DVD, you'll find a lot of male reviewers praising the show, if only because they found Penelope to be hot. Guys WILL watch your cartoon if it has an attractive female character.
Speaking of which, there are a whole bunch of anime starring cute girls (known as 'moe' or 'bishoujo') and guess what? They're targeted at male demographics (such as shonen, young boys, or seinen, adult men). Shows such as Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, and K-On! are popular with boys and men not just because of their cute girl characters, but because they're funny and relatable. In particular, Konata Izumi from Lucky Star behaves a lot like the average otaku.
Going back to Nickelodeon, they don't have very many Nicktoons with female leads. Just one of them is The Mighty B! It's a show about a young girl, Bessie, and is just as absurd and slapstick-filled as SpongeBob. Though short lived, it was a big hit for the network, getting 1.92 million viewers in the 2–11 demographic AND beating out Bakugan, a male-oriented anime, in the ratings.
Another short-lived 2000s female-led cartoon is Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi. At the time it premiered, it was the Cartoon Network's top-rated hit for kids 6–11. It has a cult following today, a good chunk of which are guys who think the characters are cute. Again, guys WILL watch your cartoon if the girls are cute.
A much more notable Cartoon Network show is The Powerpuff Girls. Admittedly, the pilot didn't do well with a test group of 11 year old boys, but the actual show became a huge hit with everyone including boys. Everyone can enjoy watching little girls beat up bad guys.
Lauren Faust, who worked on PPG, would go on to create My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. And we all know how the story goes: it was bashed for being "the end of creator driven animation" and "smarts-shaming" by people who hadn't even watched the show. A certain image board watched the show to see what all the fuss was about, and thus, Bronies were born. It's important to note that Faust deliberately made the show in such a way that everyone, from boys to adults, can enjoy it. And did she succeed. Once again, guys like to watch cute girls kick ass.
Exactly ten years ago, a spinoff of Avatar: the Last Airbender premiered: The Legend of Korra. Nickelodeon was hesitant with the show at first. They thought that boys wouldn't like the show because Korra is a girl. They were dead wrong - the boys in the test audience didn't care that she was a girl -- they thought she was awesome.
Despite all of these girl-led cartoons being popular with guys, TV executives still seem to believe that boys don't want to watch cartoons about girls. In a Discord server I'm in, someone noted that The Casagrandes was forced to shift its' focus from Ronnie Anne to her cousin, Carl, so that boys would watch the show (I don't watch the show, so I wouldn't know). Compare that with its' parent series, The Loud House. We have one boy and ten girls, but boys still like it, even after the sisters got just as much, if not more, focus than Lincoln. Despite all of that, Lincoln still gets over-promoted and put in the title cards, even if he doesn't appear in the episode. Nickelodeon is so out of touch, it's not even funny.
Cartoons transcend gender. Whether its' cute girls doing cute things or girls in action, a good show is a good show.

Metallica Anon here with a confession. 🤘
I mentioned in my last ask that used to love a particular show before joining the Hellaverse fandom. If you probably haven't figured it out, that show was My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Yeah, I used to be a fan, often referred to as Bronies. Not sure if you were paying attention during time, but Bronies were quite the thing during the 2010s.
Unfortunately, I fell out if favor with the Brony fandom. The show began declining in Season 6, but really took a nosedive in Season 8 and what little I saw of Season 9. Plus, with most fandoms, there are toxic fans... though frankly nowhere near the toxicity of Viv fans.
Did you ever have any opinions on Bronies?
No shame in that, Metallica Anon. I used to be pretty big into the brony fandom...had a couple of t-shirts and everything.
I dropped out of the fandom and stopped calling myself that when the show started to decline and the fandom got crazier, but man, I'd take those crazy sons of bitches in a heartbeat over people like DaniDraws and that Norry person. Even at its craziest, its nastiest, even at its least washed, the brony fandom still grew out of a Lauren Faust show about friendship and being nice to people. Even Chris-chan felt loved and welcomed at Bronycon.
I miss that about it.

Bronies and south Park fans rlly are just like Underswap versions of eachother lmao
Bronies are(were?) extremely bigoted, racist and homophobic, insisted on making their fan content as gritty, violent, and sexual as possible. Shamed the idea of LGBT characters despite the show being all about; as they would put it "loving and tolerating". Despite it being a children's show Abt rainbow horses learning moral lessons that was made to sell tiny brushable pony dolls to little girls.
Meanwhile people in the south Park fandom are self proclaimed progressives. People who have BLM in their social media descriptions and boldy state not to follow if you're homophobic or transphobic, kids who have Pride flag icons. People who often create comforting fluff content of the characters and make LGBT head cannons for them despite the show being some of the most egregiously offensive shit allowed on public television
Just like. Groups of people who fixate on these pieces media but seem so disconnected from it. They have to change them into something completely unrecognizable to justify liking them. Its arguable if they actually even like the source material as it is or if they have even truly sat down and watched it with their full undivided attention at all. Just people who completely lack self awareness and can't seem to see the irony at all lol
#i have ranged from being at least somewhat to extremely active in both fandoms when i was younger so ive seen it firsthand#the horrors#homophobia#racism#antisemitism#idk ask to tag?

TW: Visuals of Vomit, "Cringe" Culture.
Also-
Offtopic, but Vivziepop liking this scene from modern South Park reads as "OH MY GOD KIDS TODAY ARE SO UNREASONABLE AND LIKE- ANIME?! AND TIKTOK! SO CRINGE AND SHAMEFUL!"
-and then there was this "joke" in Helluva Boss S2 Episode Two:
Laughing at bronies and depicting them as "creeps!" because:
"LOL BRONIES ARE SO GROSS AND UNREASONABLE AND SHAMEFUL! SO CRINGE AND SHAMEFUL!"
Logic like this literally contributes to people with autism (which most Bronies are, nsfw or not) and children being harassed because of how "YOU'RE CRINGE FOR LIKING ANIME OR BEING A BRONY! GO READ A BOOK YOU CREEP!" logic causes cringe culture to be more common. So ironically, despite being a furry, Vivziepop is literally directly mocking the fact that bronies and otaku kids exists and... yeah. This episode, though unintentionally, again due to lack of research (or giving a shit...) is encouraging something that causes people, specifically those who are disabled, to be harassed online in real life due to people constantly seeing imagery of bronies, children who like anime, and generally anything predominately "autistic" causing them to see people who have autism, specifically those who like anime or who are bronies, to be treated as "sex creeps!" or as a "joke!" when not all of us are like that to begin with.
God... how are people still excusing things like this?
Also, for the people in the back: THE WRITERS LITERALLY HAVE THE OTHER CHARACTERS BE DISGUSTED BY OR REACT BY VOMITTING TO THE FACT THAT BLITZ IS A BRONY AND IT MAKES IT SO NOW EVERY OTHER BRONY SCENE FEELS LIKE THEYRE REPRESENTING BRONIES AS A "JOKE!" RUINING THEM AS A RESULT! THIS IS COMBINED WITH VIV LIKING SOUTH PARK MOCKING KIDS WHO ARE OTAKUS IS "CRINGE" CULTURE!
For fucks sake-
SHE LITERALLY BULLIED A CHILD FOR NOT LIKING HAZBIN HOTEL JUST BECAUSE THEY POSTED A MEME! At this point, Vivziepop isnt just using her staff to bully her fandom into seeing themselves as "glass jawed" for doing criticism with her work, but has become so desperate to silence said criticism that be bullied a literal child over it to manipulate them into thinking that critique is "wrong" and that they "should" be ashamed of it.
AGAIN- SHE BULLIED A LITERAL CHILD FOR DOING ONLINE CRITIQUE! THIS IS "CRINGE" CULTURE!
STOP EXCUSING THIS GARBAGE!
#helluva boss#bronies#my little pony#helluva boss criticism#tw cringe culture#I get liking it- but outright defending things like this is terrible.#Blitz is also heavily neurodivergent coded. So that makes this even worse.

Submission to the DNI Hall of Shame:
Hoo boy, there's a lot to unpack here, let's do it stream-of-consciousness style. Kids lie about their age all the time to access sites meant for older people, they'll do it on here too. What does "general criteria" even mean? "Etc", good luck guessing what is included. This person is probably on some Brony stereotyping kick. They defined anti-anti as being a pedophilia apologist, like most antis do. "Inherently harmful media"... My god, any media can be inherently harmful, it's just a matter of what groups you ask. Remember when two men kissing was "inherently harmful", and still is in some circles? "Ask permission to follow" is just...strange. Nobody needs to ask permission, the follow button is there, people will use it regardless of their background. Either that, or people will just lie about their background to get around those "requirements". And the other silly criteria that probably will never come up during interactions with this person. Not all shippers of a certain ship are vocal about it, post about it, or even think much about it.

as much as i love mlpfim, it dropped the ball on sm occasions and i just can't ignore it anymore so here goes rewritting the literal entirety of it in a several part, unhinged rant over the course of only mom (mother marry) know how long
-
i wanna start with the literal 1st give mins of the show w/ the story book Twi is reading bc i have sm opinions abt monarchy and the obsurd absolute power the princesses seem to have. like there is basically no parliament and that concerns me but that's smthn for future posts.
right off the bat, we have the perfect ~unreliable narrator~ set-up w/ the story of Celestia vs NM Moon being told exclusively from the account of Celestia, who knows how long after the fight actually happened. we are 100% keeping that. on top of that, i want to establish how old the book actually is to compare it to when Luna was trapped in the moon. i think a good way to do this is to open on Twi picking up the book than just already reading it.
this is an entirely ambient scene. it's night outside, Twi looks up to the moon and makes a note on a scroll or scrap paper we get a view of over her shoulder. she's making notes about the stars "seeming to shift" and the constellations changing over the course of several months. the moon is almost brighter as well. she goes to a desk with books scattered on it, some with astrological markings and astronomy equations with others on history and the arts throughout it.
a book with a red gem catches Twi's eye, it's dusty inside and torn at the corners, decades to even a century or two old. on the cover is the moon with a bust of a mare in it. The Mare in The Moon, How She Came to Be - Empress Celestia. Twi opens the book and the opening monolog starts the same, recounting the story of Luna's festering jealousy for how Equestria played and worked during the day but then slept thru the night. their jealousy grew to anger and then to hatred, her magic corrupting her into Nightmare. in a fit of rage, Nightmare attempts to kill Celestia and overtake the throne to bring everlasting night, forcing Celestia to fight her and imprison her into the moon. their castle is destroyed and Canterlot is founded as the new capital of Equestria. now, the moon is always full and bright every night as if Luna is watching over them.
but just as Twi goes to put the book away, a page becomes loose. it falls to the ground and they pick it up to find it's a poem. a prophecy.
A mare of sun, born in cold flame. A mare of moon, born in crimson shame. One will find the truth of the other, bringing pain to them only rage will soothe. One will find none as the aftermaths ensues. Trapped but only for so long. They shall be free with the stars' help and a muse's song.
after reading this, Twi has a brain blast and realizes that the stars are literally moving bc Nightmare has been shifting them while trapped this entire time and the Summer Sun Celebration is always closed out with a song dedicated to Celestia's work moving the celestial bodies. holy shit, it's finally happening.
cut to the theme song that isn't changed at all but it is ever so slightly slower by like one second just to piss ppl who spent the entirety of the 2010s watching this show. bronies, you deserve it.

that post abt adults being moved abt watching a bluey ep like sure whatever its cringe or such but like the op is being needlessly mean about it, like as another autistic person it reads to me like such a mean spirited way to deal with like, what, random 20 yr olds having overwhelming feelings about any sort of media thats not intended for them, like this aint the same as bronies putting porn out in public abt mlp this is abt ... crying ? because you watched a kid´s show??? literally whats so horrible or immature about that man . no one has to get a superiority complex about watching toddler shows but You All need to stop shaming human beings for being normally affected by even simple things like, you dont know what the other person is experiencing at the other side or the life they lived thru lmao.
u rite bestie; imma delete the post

Breaks my heart when non-furs have to say "btw not a furry myself". Furry hate is rooted in queerphobia and ableism against the autism spectrum. The reason that community started drawing so much ire is because it was a safe haven for queers and autistics where they could freely express themselves within a community where everyone was a societal outcast so there was minimal gatekeeping or behaviour, interests, and beliefs unless you were an outright asshole or predator/groomer, or willingly disrespecting boundaries. (same thing also happened last decade with "Bronies") Obviously, saying "I hate gay people" and "I hate autistics" isn't as societally acceptable as just slapping a predators label on the group by alleging they're zoophiles or something along those lines. Similar to how trans women are being branded as sexual predators and trans men are being branded as aggressors. If you can brand a group as something objectively morally reprehensible and harmful, you can get more people to align with your shitty beliefs. Most of the people I've met who have said they hate furries have never interacted with them, even at anime cons where you generally get a few fursuiters. They just latched onto a narrative from the mid-late 2000s that was perpetuated by bigots looking to make their hatred of a marginalized group palatable to the masses.
You've got a community primarily composed of gays and autistics who commit themselves to being creative, supporting artists, and expressing themselves for the enjoyment of themselves and others. Aint' nothing shameful or harmful about that.

theres nothing wrong with liking or enjoying a kids show!!!!! open yiur heart be free!!!!
ppl who are weird about or take too seriously (i mean in a negative way) on the other hand......
ahhh tysm anon!!!!
and oh yeah i totally agree!! trust me, i was an mlp fan during the Brony Era so i have plenty of experience w weird adults in kids fandoms. i think thats why so many ppl are wary of adult bluey fans (ive seen some ppl on twitter calling them "the new bronies") but in my own experience i think bluey fans are MUCH better at keeping the fandom a safe place for kids. a lot of older bluey fans are ppl who fell in love w the show while watching it with their kids, younger relatives, or kids that they may have been babysitting (i first discovered the show while watching it w my baby cousin!!). and while im sure there are bluey fans out there who are inappropriate, i can safely say that it is a MUCH safer community than the early mlpfim one by miles.
and yeah when it comes to the "taking it too seriously" thing ik what u mean, a lot of ppl who like stuff for kids (like bronies for example) will try to put these rly high expectations on the material bc they want to prove that its more Mature than what ppl think. and while i agree that bluey, mlp, and other kids shows CAN have mature moments, sometimes fans get rly carried away w their expectations and subsequently get upset/mad when the show does something that isnt "mature" enough for their standards (i remember bronies getting mad at mlp coloring books for being "too easy" LMAOOO). thats why its important to remember what the shows target audience is while also remembering that theres no shame in liking something thats aimed at kids!! thats how you keep the communities safe while enjoying the source material imo.
and yeah, while there are some bluey fans out there who say stuff like "bluey is better than most modern adult stuff nowadays!!", i dont think that ppl should be mocked for simply having that opinion. bc its just an Opinion, and what someone prefers in media can be very different compared to someone else's preferences. ofc i strongly encourage consuming a wide range of media that appeals to a wide range of audiences, but ppl are still allowed to prefer something thats made for kids over stuff thats for adults. thats just how opinions/subjectivity work!! do what makes u happy but dont be afraid to branch out as well :)
aksksks sorry for the rant i just have a lot of Thoughts on this matter LOLLL ty again anon have a wonderful day uwu

The next MLP is not what you think it is
When it comes to what constitutes the new MLP, in terms of a kids' show attracting a lot of cringey adult fans, Bluey is often touted as a kind of modern day MLP. But I don't think we've seen something much worse yet, but in the sense of something that was meant for one gender is seriously popular with another. Supposing if there's a game that's intended to be a blend between cape stories and crime fiction, but ends up attracting a predominantly female audience that it could be an even better contender for the next MLP.
My Little Pony fandom, in its heyday, was pretty controversial for having a predominantly male fanbase born from 4Chan. In order for this fandom to be the female equivalent to the Bronies in a way the Pegasisters weren't (and still aren't), it would have to begin in an unlikely place. Something like a new social media app being used by many like say Weibo, if it does get popularised at all, with the game developers announcing said game there only to have a fandom that blows up in a short time. It would also have to have a real lightning in a bottle quality to attract such a fanbase.
It would also be just as controversial as the Bronies were, especially when it comes to sexualised content though it's possible this fandom would even exceed the Bronies in infamy. Something like rampant race fetishisation, if some of the characters aren't the majority ethnicity. A new MLP or rather an MLP for girls would have to be just as controversial as MLP was a decade ago, one with the potential to be even more controversial than the Bronies were. Something that attracts so much cringe that should these fangirls ever show up in fancy dresses to meet their favourite characters in person, it will be just as shocking if they succeed in sexually harassing the actors.
Disney adults might also be a good contender for the new Bronies, but a lot of Disney animated productions have been around longer and so have Disney comics. An MLP for girls would be the real contender for the Bronies in a way Bluey will not be, considering that MLP was unexpectedly popular with men and older boys. This would be something not many have considered, because I feel Bluey's fandom might not even the worst one yet. Something much worse will arise, something that's just as unexpected or even more surprising than Bluey ever was.
Considering that there were always adult fans of children's cartoons like Disney for instance, a real female equivalent to MLP would be something that's meant for guys but unexpectedly popular with girls though something like that has happened before. But supposing if this is a new, forthcoming game we're talking about then it has the potential to be a new MLP if it ever gets a majority female fanbase. If this happens, it will put the Bluey fandom to shame.

A thing about r34 and sexualization discourse talk involving fictional, non real actors is, I think there's a difference between
making a smexy r34rd version of something because that;s just how the internet works. As Jenny Nicholsan put in her Brony doc: "some people don't know how to engage with a character without the lens of 'can I fuck it'?" So they turn their blorbo into a big dicked/big boobied pinup fetish thing. There is a real talk and criticism worth having in that subject alone- about making talking-but-feral animalmonster into sex bombs or the aged-up characters into sex objects thing. It's valid criticism and a talk worth having and, I feel, is worth calling out.
and then
person hyperfixates on making a particular character into something sexy...when it's not something that should be sexualized. Y'know?
To me that is the difference between r34 and pinup artists making teenaged characters into adults and loli/shota. One of them is taking the steps needed to make what they're doing NOT creepy for themselves-- the other is using a 'this is fictional, tho'-argument on literal cp or zoo shit.
Cuties' and KIDS' creators may not have intended to harm the children in their films that were about children sexualizing themselves --but that's what they did. They endangered and put these real kids in real sexual situations. And yes- we should be judging and calling that out regardless of the 'intent'. ---Loli/shota/zoo works differently. Even though no actual children or animals are harmed, it doesn't have the 'this is fiction, really don't think of it too much' excuse because what exactly is that fiction being used for?? Lots of anime have problem with oversexualizing their casts, but they don't exist souly for that or even want to do so intentionally when their fanbases do-- but p0rn is different. It is made for gratification, first. It is made because an adult wants these things to happen for their own pleasure. And yeah "no kinkshaming" shouldn't be applied when the 'kink' we're shaming isn't a kink but a fullblown paraphelia.
