So Hattalove piinted me here, so maybe it's you that is the genius that tracks their fic reading? I think I remember you (someone? That shars Buddie content) sharing the generic excel file but I think you changed some bits? Specifically, you track re-reads, right? Could you explain how you did that? I would like to upgrade my own tracking ❤️ I would greatly appreciate a description! Thank you either way, I got so much joy out of tracking my own reading!!

Hahah I'd hesitate to call myself a genius but I do track my fic reading yes! I got the template from Maria @thatbuddie but I've modified mine to include rereads, a monthly stat page and some other stuff. I think you probably have the same template? I remember her linking to it again not too long ago.

For rereads, I just added a "Reread" column to the fics sheet that's a binary Y/N like the "series" and "completed" columns in the template. Then on my monthly stat page I included this:

by counting how many Y's and N's are in the column. If you want to do that for the whole list of fics in your log, it's a simple =countif([letter of reread column]:[letter of reread column], "Y"), e.g. =countif(S:S, "Y") if S is the column you use to mark rereads (and if you want the number on a different sheet to the one the data is in, add "sheetname!" before the column selector, so e.g. "fics!S:S"). The template uses more the format K1:K1000 I've noticed, which is perfectly doable, I just prefer to not lock down any numbers so the whole column is always counted regardless of how long it gets. And swap the Y for N to get non-rereads, of course! For the percentages I simply count "=numberOfRereads/(numberOfRereads + numberOfNewFics)" using the cell names so e.g. =G8/(G8+H8), and format the cell as percentage.

I hope that makes sense? Please ask for clarification if needed! If you want, I can create a copy of my modified template so you can take a closer look for yourself. Some of the add-ons I've made include the monthly stat page mentioned, where I automatically get my author top five and five most read tags for the month, as well as longest and shortest fic of the month, and a system to list only fics i've read that include a certain tag, a certain author, a certain month, or a combination of all three.

hi!! sorry this is random and you are probably already getting a ton of asks about this but i couldn't help relating on a personal level to your post about eddie i even followed because you're so right 🥴 especially your tags!! i also agree w how it's likely people obsess over him because he's a white guy, and they'll ignore other really compelling plots and characters. a great deal of the st fandom (no shade but) has always been like this --- before eddie came billy and while eddie is definitely a better character to obsess over (IMO), it's still just because he's... white. and good looking, i suppose! joseph quinn is amazing, but i didn't get the hype either and thank you for speaking up because 😳 tbh i feel the same way. i dont have anything against him i just dooooont get the hype, i dont see why i'd have to scroll down the st tag and find several posts on a yt man with over 50k notes when the show has so much more to offer, especially because wow sadie sink, millie bobby brown, and caleb mclaughlin's performances were amazing considering how young they are!! i think lucas was just exceptional this season, too, if i were to obsess over a st guy it'd definitely be him...... and max and eleven had such complex plots each, it's a little sad that people these days will be baited just because of a white man (regarding media) all of this is very lighthearted and it's just my opinion, SORRY, this is long you don't have to read it/post it and on a side note i love your header HJASDKG

heyyy not random at all! yea the billy thing is something i have many many problems with and i h8 that character so much and i h8 how people in the fandom latched onto him purely because he is a yt man played by an objectively attractive yt man but that's like a whole other thing. eddie was a nice guy unlike billy but both are such surface level characters who were clearly always meant to be supporting players and both d*ed and like WHY that is so hard for some people to comprehend is truly beyond me. like there is no reason other than people really enjoy uwuing over their yt men. i completely agree with you, caleb was amazing this season and i adore lucas as a character. max and el and robin are all wonderful characters with arcs and all are played by compelling and talented actresses. i'm just sad that with all the progress we're making regarding diversity, (and as a bi woc myself) that society and fandom culture are still obsessed with their pathetic yt men. not to say you can't enjoy those characters (minus billy bc he's a racist pos) but when you start ignoring or villifying minority characters, it becomes a problem and creates this cycle of negativity and bigotry and idk it's tiring to see everywhere, all of the time.

back when i was big in the all time low bandom, i changed my url to this one due to conversations i would have with alex gaskarth at meet & greets. i always felt like an alien in my own body, something i considered alien syndrome, back in high school. i never felt like i belonged in my own skin, and it was an incredibly dark period of time for me. some of the only times i didn’t feel alien was when i was at concerts and especially when i would have chats with alex about different aspects of my life or interests because he inspired me as a person and as a writer. he drew me an alien doodle one time back in 2014, and i told him i’d get it tattooed when i stopped feeling alien, and it took a few years but i finally did and showing it to him back in 2018 was really powerful for me as a young person who struggled so hard to find my identity and using that as my motivation to accept myself and who i was. so idk! aliensyndrome is just something that is a part of me at this point and it’s layered meaning is too significant to me to ever change, so you’re all stuck with aliensyndrome 4 now 🤍

So @fiveisnumber1 and I were talking yesterday and we came up with a bunch of headcanons for Timeless based on some of our shared interests. I compiled them to share with everyone in this lil community and we’d love to hear what you all think:

H7 and the Hargreeves are Reader’s Wedding Dress Entourage like in SYTTD

So first of all, Say Yes to The Dress is so chaotic that the Hargreeves and H7 would fit in that environment entirely

They don’t actually go on the show so it’s more like Safiya Nygaard’s wedding dress shopping video where Reader and the rest go to shop, they film it and then they upload it on their Youtube channel.

Reader originally plans to take Grace, Addison, Allison, Viktoria and Vanya with her. Klaus and Kenny overhear dress shopping and immediately want in which means Ben is going too obviously and Bren goes to keep him company. (There’s a GHOST loose in a BRIDAL SALON). 

Dean and Diego find out and they HAVE to tag along especially Diego cuz he needs to monitor this whole thing as Reader’s brother and Dean as her “twin”. So of course Luther and Lucas decide to join too.

Five grumbles about being left behind all alone at the mansion but he's happy cuz he knows they've gone to pick out Reader’s wedding dress and so it makes the fact that they're getting married so much more real.

Oh and Charlie’s there too. He’s an old man now but he’s still healthy and fit and definitely doesn’t look as old as he is. Of course Reader invites him along.

They introduce him to the shop as Reader’s “grandfather” but she treats him as she always does. He’s her friend and to her its like he hasn’t aged at all.

He’s just so happy to be there for her and support her. He was with her the entire time she missed Five and knew Five spent 45 years without her too so it feels great to know they’re finally getting married and that he’s able to witness it.

As soon as the huge group enters the bridal salon it is CHAOS.

Everyone is picking dresses they think Reader will like and the consultant is overwhelmed at so many people in her shop (but more surprisingly, so many supportive people in her shop cuz this is the largest entourage she’s met that actually caters to the brides instead of thinking of only themselves).

They all pick out dresses for Reader cuz of course they do. They’re not all her style but they don’t throw a tantrum when she doesn’t wear what isn’t.

Diego goes around picking the most conservative dresses ever. Overprotective brother mode: ACTIVATED.

He also ends up picking out a bunch of poofy princess ballgowns cuz Reader is his little princess. You know those gorgeous ballgowns with the pretty sheer sleeves that look stunning? Yeah those

There’s so much chaos happening and Reader is pretty sure they’re gonna make her try on the entire shop’s gowns before they’re done

Reader, when she sees the mountain of dresses the H8 and Hargreeves have picked out: I should have just come by myself.

Reader is also constantly texting Five because she knows he’s home alone and he doesn’t mind but she misses him anyway cuz just the dress shopping reminds her of the fact they’re getting married and her heart fills with love for him and its adorable

Kenny and Klaus won’t stop teasing me about the mannequins

Five just sips his coffee at home and smiles every time he gets a text cuz he's so happy the day they're getting married is getting closer and that Reader is having fun with everyone while picking out her dress.

He loves her so much for trying to include him even though it's supposed to be her day and he can’t be there.

Reader finds the PERFECT dress (which I will let fiveisnumber1 reveal to you all. It’s absolutely stunning). 

Diego almost has a heart attack about the low back.

But then Reader starts crying because she can see herself getting married in this dress and this dress only. It’s perfect. Diego can’t say No after that... and it is a gorgeous dress. He grumbles but gives in.

Reader says Yes to the Dress... or Sure to the Frock... Or Down for the Gown (No i totally didn’t steal this from Safiya’s videos or anything)

Anyway: The H7 and Hargreeves and Charlie would be the most supportive entourage but they'd be hilarious and chaotic as well. 

After Reader and Five get married and they post the video on YouTube, so many people just love to watch it cuz it's so obvious how happy Reader is to be getting married to Five and how happy everyone else is for them (and cuz the video is so chaotic and fun and everyone’s version of the best found family).

The H8 and Hargreeves making Weird Science videos for their Channel

Also inspired by Safiya Nygaard’s weird science or bad makeup science videos. (Seriously they’re hilarious and the bomb. 11/10 recommend).

They make the videos in pairs or the H8 make them as a group. There’s combinations.

The H8:

Normally when it’s the H8, because they're all broke the funding comes from Five's (or any of the Hargreeves) inheritance (what else is he gonna do with it but use it in the name of bad science experiments?) 

They all crowd around the kitchen table sorting stuff and making a mess and then if the stove is needed then the Reader heats their mixture up with her powers too but discreetly so its not on camera. 

It starts out organized but delves into chaos.

Five is probably trying to calculate outcomes based on the materials they have and figuring out accurate measuring systems. Bren writes down everything because “the only difference between messing around and science is if you write it down”. 

Kenny is officially the person who gets to "dump stuff in the pot" and he refuses to let anyone else do it. He pretends he's making a potion and has an evil laugh to go along with it.

Lucas and Dean are woefully clueless but help in getting necessary stuff from the cupboards. 

Viktoria and Addison take turns filming and narrating in deadpan. They also are the ones who help arrange the items and prep them to be ready for the mixture in the pot.

There is a lot of chaos.

Bren: Hey guys where’s the pot? 

Kenny: in my room but I don’t know why you would want it brennyboo 

Bren: THE MIXING POT! 

Kenny: Oh Dean is using it as a hat 

Dean: I wouldn’t be using it if Lucas hadn’t took the bowl with holes 😩 

Reader: A COLENDER???

H8 with Hargreeves:

Its not just the H8 together causing chaos though. They pair off occasionally with their Hargreeves counterpart.

Lucas: “Welcome to bad science with Lucas and Luther! Today we’re going to combine every flavor of jello!” 

Cue Luther standing awkwardly. He doesn’t know what’s going on but is happy to help. 

It ends up tasting like Elliot’s “ambrosia” from the 60s.

Viktoria and Vanya make one too. 

Viktoria: Welcome to our channel for another edition of weird science. Today we're going to mix all the Peanut Butters we can find in the grocery stores around town together. We will then have Five taste test it on a sandwich because it's his favorite with marshmallows. He doesn’t know what we’re doing so his reaction will be very entertaining. 

Vanya: Wait... including the crunchy peanut butter? He doesn't like that. 

Viktoria: ALL the peanut butter

Idiot Four and Bad Science:

Speaking of the H8 with the Hargeeves: the Idiot Four and Bad Science. It’s beautiful.

They can't find anything so they improvise.

Dean: Guys I can’t find the measuring cups.

Lucas: Oh.. well just use something that’s a similar size?

Diego: The soup bowls are too big though

Luther: Would this work? *holds up sieve*

*cue Idiot 4 shoveling in whatever ingredients they can before it can leak out through the sieve*

Luther: Shit... the mixing bowl is missing.

Lucas: I didn’t take it this time!

Dean: Should we use the extra?

Diego: No. Do NOT use the one mom cooks in or our food will taste like wax for weeks again.

Lucas: The others will kill us if that happens again...

Dean: I found the bowl with the holes?

Lucas: Excellent! How do we make sure it doesn’t leak?

Diego: Tape?

Luther: I have a better idea!

His idea is to use the colander on top of the frying pan so it catches the excess that drips out.

Genius, these four. Truly the Einstein's of their generation.

The videos are a hit is all I’m saying.

Yes the kitchen does end up on fire numerous times. They’ve got it under control... mostly.

Charlie and Five:

This is more of a mini headcanon that sprouted from the wedding dress shopping headcanons but:

They get along really well.

They specifically use their ‘old men’ thing to irritate the others.  They would just have those stereotypical old man talks but really they’re just doing it to annoy the rest of them. 

Imagine Charlie and Five just sitting at the bar and bitching very loudly together about "kids these days have no respect for the elderly". They especially do it in front of the Hargreeves specifically Diego.

It drives them up the wall but Charlie and Five refuse to stop.

The rest of the H8 just find it funny more than irritating. 

Everyone is like "You're both healthy and Five your body is literally 18. Shut It!"

Both Five and Charlie are technically old men who Reader has introduced to Gen Z slang and trends. And it’s especially funny because reader turned both of these old men into people with Gen Z personalities so any of their old men schtick is just to annoy the others.

It forms a very amusing contrast of them speaking in Gen Z but talking like old people.

Five: And the other day Kenny yeeted his pet raccoon across the hall and said the poor thing liked it. Kids these days and their weird flexes 

Charlie: If I were Kenny, I simply would not. RIP to him but we old men are just built different.

(Sidenote: Garby totally loves being yeeted cuz its like flying. Kenny would just lift him above his head and fly him around).

Also Charlie just comes over with this huge stash of "old man candy" and then Five and him just go around solemnly handing it to the others and patting their heads for being "good children" for the stupidest of things just to patronize them. 

Charlie: *handing Luther a candy* And this is for you for making sure the Netflix subscription is paid for

Luther: *confused* thank you?

Five: You ate a grape for breakfast today *pats Bren’s head as he gives him a candy*

Bren: *tries not to laugh as he takes the candy*

Diego: *grumbling* Can I have a candy?

Five and Charlie: *consider it* 

Five: He spilled a drop of water on the table today.

Charlie: And he walks around in spandex.

You hadn't seen Spencer in years. Remembering the terms the two of you ended on, you weren't surprised either. All throughout highschool, you were the movie-esque tormentors of the frail, nerdy kid. The bully that wasn't actually supposed to exist. The absolute nightmare that had kids like Spencer trembling, dreading to relive the same terror another day. 

Shock couldn't even begin to cover what you felt the day you watched him walk into the library you now owned. You had been working on forgetting him since graduation. Just when you thought the remnants of Spencer had dripped entirely from your memory, everything came flooding in the matter of milliseconds the moment he walked through your door. All the times you watched him eat alone, pick his things up alone after someone had thrown them out of his hands; all the times you could've stepped up and just chose not to. You promised yourself you'd be different. Now was your chance. 

You subtly watch Spencer as he looks through the many isles of books. Beginning at young adult, trailing quickly to non-fiction, and eventually ending up in the classic section. He doesn't spend much time amongst the books - 5 minutes at the most since he walked in - before bringing a stack of 6 books up to the counter; you anxiously waiting to scan him in. 

"Did- did you find all your books alright?" You manage to ask. Spencer merely nods his head, crossing his arms and bringing one of his hands up to his mouth, chewing on his fingernails. His brows furrow and you're worried he's about to say something. 

"I'm a little surprised to see you working here actually." This throws you off. You did not plan for this- this confrontation. 

"I take it you remember me?" 

"I'm not really one to forget things, you know." Fair enough.

Spencer's look of sincerity throws you off. After all the years of you being his worst fear, he still had room in his heart to be genuinely kind towards you. 

"It's fine, really. It was so long ago now. And besides- now I have this grand, ancient bookstore." You end with a chuckle and finish scanning the barcodes in each of his books. 

"Thank you- uh actually, could you help me find something else?"

"Of course! What're you looking for?" 

"Everyone keeps recommending me Donna Tart, where could I find some of her work?" 

"Follow me," you gesture and move from behind the counter. 

You walk him over to the very back of the store where all the dark academia-esq books are. While sifting through the books, he asks you a question that catches you completely off guard; his voice nothing above a whisper. 

"And I take it that you don't still hate me-" 

You immediately know what he's talking about. How silly of you to think the past wouldn’t be brought up.  

You clear your throat before speaking up. "I- n-no of course not. I- I uh- I know this is extremely cliche, and I'm not trying to excuse away any of the horrible things I did to you but- I was hiding." 

"From what?" Spencer chimes in quietly. 

"I just didn't know how to feel about myself. Gay this and gay that- it was all so negative. I didn't want to be known for something that was apparently so wrong. I definitely couldn't let the football playing circle jerkers I called my friends know about how I felt towards other guys. An-and I saw how they treated people like you and I didn't want that, so I joined them." 

"So you're gay?" Spencer asks, and you nod slowly. "And you and your 'circle jerking buddies' tortured me because you all thought I was gay?" 

"Well- I- we uh- that's what they said. I knew it wasn't good, but I didn't do anything because of what I was. I know the word 'sorry' will never make up for anything I've ever done or said to you, but I am so so sorry, Spencer." 

"You guys just knew I was gay? -Gaydar that strong, huh?" Spencer ends in a chuckle, easing up your tension, allowing you to slip out a soft laugh, too. 

"Obviously, it wasn't too good. I somehow managed to skate by for four years." 

"That you did." For the first time in years, when you look at Spencer, he doesn't look upset. A content, lazy smile accompanies his happy eyes as he. "Well- actually, I'm not entirely gay so I guess their gaydar needed some tweeking, hm?" 

"Oh, you're-" you attempt, but get cut-off. 

"Bi? Yeah. I realized I was bi when I realized I had a crush on you and your tenth grade girlfriend. What about you?" 

Still skimming the pages of a Donna Tart book, never looking up from it. So nonchalant. Him being so upfront with you was honestly exciting. You never imagined that you'd be remotely friendly with Spencer Reid, let alone him revealing he had a crush on you. "Ah, about junior year, I figured out I kinda had a thing for you." 

"Say, uh," Spencer started, tucking his hair behind his ear and slipping the book back onto the shelf. "I liked you; you liked me. Why don't we hang out sometime or something-" 

You could tell Spencer was trying hard to mask his enthusiasm. You were too. 

"Erm- yeah totally! I get off in about an hour actually; I could call you, and we could grab coffee or something." 

"Sounds great," Spencer says hurriedly as he fishes around in his pocket, drawing out a small slip of paper and drawing the pen from his shirt pocket. He hands you the freshly used paper with his number inscribed on it in smudged black ink. 

The next hour, excitement coursed through you. You're bustling around, fidgeting, unshelving and re-shelving books, sweeping, mopping - anything to keep your mind off of the end of your shift. The busiest yet slowest hour of your life. Your shift ends and your excitement reaches its peak. Your finger hovers over the call button at the bottom of your screen, hesitating. For a split second you get the courage to press call, but then you immediately regret it - that is until his hurried, excited voice slips through the speaker. 

"Hey, y/n! It's Spencer! Uh- you know.. that.. of course. Anyways, uh there's this coffee shop about a block away from my place. I wondered if maybe you'd wanna go and have an early dinner or something." 

You can't help but chuckle at his excitement; trying to calm down your own. "That sounds great, Spencer. What's the place?" 

"Café Negra-" 

"What?!" you cut him off "I go there all the time! How have I never seen you?" 

"What? That's insane. How have we not crossed each other there?" 

"No clue.. Anyways I'll meet you there- uh about 20?" 

"Perfect." Spencer hangs up without any formal goodbyes, but you couldn't care less - you couldn't wait to meet him at the coffee shop. 

The date - which neither of you bothered to assign that title to the event, but you both knew it was, in fact, a date - went impressively well. It's like you two had never been enemies in the first place. Those four years in high school wiped clean of any hard feelings as the two of you drank coffee way too strong for 6p.m., ate double chocolate muffins, and laughed away. 

When it comes time to leave, Spencer stands up first, throwing away his cup and muffin wrapper; you follow quickly and do the same. 

A mutual agreement was somehow made to take it back to Spencer's place. Maybe it was the lack of goodbyes that he seemed prone to. Whatever it was, the evening didn't feel finished. 

Once inside his cozy apartment, he welcomes you to his couch before maneuvering to the tv stand, kneeling down and pulling out three movies. He gestures for you to choose one, and you choose Titanic. Not the greatest choice of the three, but you had a feeling you wouldn't be focused on the movie too much anyways. 

He puts the disc into the player before joining you on the couch. About twenty minutes into the movie, he moves closer to you, resting his shoulder slowly, cautiously as if asking permission. You ease his nerves by welcoming his head on your shoulder and leaning against him in return. The next half an hour is full of stolen glances, light touches, and snuggling. All innocent until Spencer slides his hand up your thigh. You try not to mind it much. Maybe he's just absentminded in all the contact. He doesn't know what he's doing. You try to focus on the movie and not on his hand getting ever so dangerously close until you just can't anymore. Looking down at him, he's already making eye contact with you, driving you wild. Instinctually you connect your lips with his. 

Spencer shuffles over and straddles your lap, never disconnecting your lips. Your hands roam around his shoulders and back before dipping underneath the hem of his shirt and pulling it off. He makes quick work of returning the favor. After a few more chaste kisses, he stands up, pulling you up with him, and pushes his pants to the floor with you following suit. Spencer places his fingers under your chin, bringing your face up to his in an attempt to place another open-mouthed kiss on your bite-swollen lips. However, you muster up a burst of courage and manage to flip the script. Placing your fingers on Spencer’s chest and holding him at arm's length, you keep eye contact while you take a seat on one end of the couch. You motion for him to take his seat at the other end. 

Spencer, still unsure of the current situation, watches you move. He watches as you run your fingertips up and down your thighs. As you wet the palm of your hand with your tongue before running it up and down your shaft. Lightly tracing your fingertips over your reddened head, hissing at the contact. 

“Your turn,” you say barely above a whisper. 

Spencer’s eyes go wide, but he still obliges, wetting his hand and repeating your actions on himself. Hissing and cursing at the contact with his eager cock. He soon gets lost in his own world of pleasure. Moving faster and moaning barely-there profanities. Watching the show, you bring your hand back to yourself. Your eyes shut as you listen to Spencer; his pretty gasps like music to your ears.

Spencer lets out a strangled moan and forces himself to slow his pace. Watching him struggle to contain himself turns you on even more. His desperate whines and pleas for release getting you closer to the edge. “Look at me, bubbas,” you coax. 

Spencer looks up at you, pushing a tuft of hair from his eyes. His other hand still desperately attached to the base of his cock, awaiting further instruction. 

“Listen.. We’re gonna cum together okay?” Spencer only manages a nod in response so you continue. “I want you to move faster again; get closer. But I want you to let me know when you’re about to cum, okay?” 

You’re met with a furious nod for an answer as he works at his waist, bringing himself closer to his climax; you simultaneously doing the same.

A year ago today I saw IT: Chapter Two for the first time. A little less than 3 years ago I saw IT for the first time. A lot has changed over these three years, as well as over one year. I've definitely changed, my interests have changed. I'd like to think I've changed for the better, as a person, and developed better writing skills as a potential writer.

I never could have predicted how much the Losers Club, especially Stanley Uris, my baby, my love, my angel, would mean to me. This was the best kind of unpredictable. I have found love, friendship, inspiration and, most of all, solace in the kids, their stories, their feelings, their friendship. They mean everything to me. 

I want to thank everyone who has read my stories over this year, I wanna thank everyone who reads Heaven (by God, I'll finish it one day, I promise you!). Thank you to everyone who read my work, who still await for new works from me in the IT universe, thank you to everyone who commented, liked, shared my work with others and shared their opinions and feelings my writings made them feel.

I also want to shout-out every other IT fan on here, on Twitter, in the whole world. Don't call it a dumb clown movie, don't be embarassed by the closeness, the solace, the excitement and joy these two movies provided for you. The title “dumb clown movie” belittles me and the meaning it has for me, and I'm very sure, many others. 

It made you cry, and it made you smile and laugh, because it made you feel something. It made you feel close to something, to someone. Be it a fictional character, a fictional friendship; be it friends you've met online through IT, the relationships that have grown out of it; be it yourself, discovering new nuances of your own personality. 

I love you all. IT & the Losers Club mean the world to me, and I don't know who I'd be without them, the story... I love them so much. I want to celebrate this day with myself. I also want to write, still. And I will, I promise you all. 

Thank you to the cast for bringing the characters to life. Thank you to Stephen King for creating such a strange, twisted, uncomfortable, horrifying, wonderous, but also heart-felt, emotional, bonding story; thank you for creating such lovable, emotionally-intense characters as the Losers Club.
