Hey! I hope its alright im asking anonymous, you're kinda my idol so im a little shy sorry :,)

Anyways my question would be a kinda commonly asked one but i would like to hear your advice on "How to find your artstyle?" Your artsyle is truly AMAZING and unique to me and inspired me a lot so i thought i would ask you this. I'll stop writting now cause its getting long 😅

(One last thing: You're the best and keep doing the amazing work you do cause im obsessed with it and its truly amazing and have a pawsome day/night!!)

Okok so here's the things with artstyles; it's literally just doing what ya want!! You don't need to have a specific one!!

So for mines, it's literally just been me picking things up over the years. I got my start through drawing my little pony, and that still shows through how I draw eyes tbh ;^^ and as you can imagine, over the past few years the hellaverse has had a massive impact on how I draw!!

If you like how an artist does something?? Try and analyse how/why they do that; I grew up watching speedpaints on youtube and taking into account just how people did things, for example if they colour picked for their rendering or if they used layer settings etc!!

Having one artstyle can honestly be really restrictive though, which is why I honestly don't believe you should focus on having one specific style if that makes sense??

These pieces are all by me, but all have different rendering styles!! The first one is significantly more recognisable imo as my style since cell shading is generally what I do, however when I'm feeling particularly art blocked I'll sometimes go for a more paint-like style ✨

A really close friend of mine (who gets referred to as my husband lol) can do so many different styles, yet his art is extremely recognisable on sight to me every time somehow and I'm forever in awe lmao 😭 his art account is @/draconicdeityarts if you want to check out his stuff, cool af

Genuinely my greatest piece of advice? Just have fun and don't be afraid to try new things ;v; trying to put yourself in a box of "it needs to be in this style" will stunt your growth in my experience!! And over time you'll find the things that make your style yours because, generally, they're the part you enjoy doing the most, which can only be found out by experimenting!! My favourite part is rendering and I feel that shows, but the reason I love it so much is because I'm regularly experimenting still with how I do it rather than sticking to one way!!

I hope this helped at all, just remember that art is for fun, and trust me when I say that your art will always have its ways of being recognisable as yours regardless of if you have one style or 20 different ones 💖

“I got you a surprise,” Saul says. He’s just gotten back from a meeting with Dowling and Harvey with a huge smile on his face and you can’t help but be a little suspicious. Last time he said he had a surprise for you, you went camping for two days and you were eaten by mosquitoes.

“Are you going to tell me beforehand so I can let you know if it’s a good idea?” you tease him.

“I resent the idea that you think I don’t know how to plan a good surprise,” he objects making you laugh. When he pulls you in for a hug, you don’t flinch. You don’t shy away or worry about his intentions. But it’s been a long time coming. When you first started going out, you flinched every time he reached out for you. Nothing Saul did could make you calm down but with time and a very good therapist, you slowly got yourself back. And you hated just how much your ex-partner had stolen from you. You hated that he made you feel like it was your fault and that you had something to be ashamed of when everything was his fault. He isolated you from all your friends until you couldn’t see a way out. You’re still not sure how you managed to gather the courage to run from him but you were forever thankful that you did.

“Your surprises are a hit or miss. I need to know what I’m getting myself into,” you smile wrapping your arms around him. Being in his arms feels like coming home after a long day. It calms you down on bad days and fills you with joy on the good days.

“I’ve booked one of those bed and breakfasts that you always talk about and the best part is that it’s on Earth so no one will know us. We can just blend in for an entire weekend.” He looks at you trying to gauge your reaction but you’re careful not to give anything away. You like watching him sweat a little.

“I love it,” you smile and within a few hours you’re all packed up ready for a weekend trip. Saul has picked the most gorgeous little place where you camp out the entire weekend. You enjoy cooking together, reading together, it’s like some sort of fairytale. You’ve never had this kind of relationship before but it fills you with joy as you’re looking over at Saul.

On the last day, you both go to the store and pick up some snacks for your hike later. As you’re walking up and down the aisles trying to find some delicious snacks, you feel a sudden chill run down your spine. You look around trying to figure out what’s got you all tense and that’s when you spot him. He hasn’t changed much but where you once thought you saw love, all you see now is hatred. You hate the man standing in front of you and you have every right to. Saul steps in front of you almost instinctively but you’re done hiding from him.

“Fancy meeting you here,” he smirks making the hairs on your arms stand up. You have no idea how he found you on Earth but it’s not exactly a pleasant reunion.

“Going so fast? We haven’t even gotten a chance to catch up.” An old lady passes the three of you and he gives her his best smile. It’s the one that convinces people that he’s a charming guy when really he’s a monster. He turns his attention back to you looking you up and down.

“We’re going to walk out of here now and you’re going to let us.” Your voice doesn’t tremor which surprises even you. Panic is spreading through your veins like a wildfire but you remain calm on the outside. It helps that Saul is standing right next to you offering his silent support. You know he won’t let anything happen to you but he’s also giving you the chance to handle this yourself.

“You’re not going anywhere.” This time he sounds angry. He grabs hold of your arm tightening the grip just enough for it to hurt. Saul takes a step forward but you stop him.

“Let go of me.” You’re not asking, you’re demanding.

“Or what? What are you going to do?” You let your eyes change to that gorgeous orange colour you’ve come to love. It’s a warning but he’s too stupid to realise it.

“If you come with me right now, I’ll forgive you. I’ll even pretend like you don’t deserve-“ You never find out what he meant to say. You channel your feelings letting your skin turn flaming hot burning his hand in the process. For old time’s sake, you even burn a little hole in his shirt right where his heart was supposed to be.

“Don’t tempt me. I’m going to go now and if you follow me, I’ll do a lot more than that.” He takes a step towards you but by now, Saul has had enough.

“I know Y/N can handle her own and she’ll easily kick your ass. But I swear to whatever power’s there are out there in the universe, I will hurt you if you don’t leave right now.” You’ve never seen Saul this angry but it’s nice to feel protected.

“You’re not the boss of me.” In the blink of an eye, Saul has punched him square in the face. He falls to the floor covering his bleed nose with his hands.

“I know you can handle yourself but you shouldn’t have to deal with that. You deserve better,” Saul says turning to you. Snacks are long forgotten as you hurry away from the scene before anyone calls the police. Once you’re back at the bed and breakfast, you grab onto Saul and kiss him trying to convey your love for him.

“Thank you for standing up for me,” you whisper. You liked that he didn’t just push you aside and handled things for you but that he let you be the badass person you know you are.

“Anytime. I’d do anything for you.”

Summary: You know Tom has spoken to Harry but he hasn’t told you anything about it and it is driving you crazy. The whole house finds out about the fact that you and Tom are together. Nikki seems to be very happy about it but you mother does not. Later, something puts a damper on your happiness.

Previously - Chapter 5

It's been a few days but you know Tom has talked to Harry. You saw Tom leaving his room later that day. He hasn't told you about it though and it is driving you crazy. You just want to know that Harry is okay, you don't need details (though that would be nice) of what happened. Things have gotten a little better between you and Harry but it's not how it used to be. It's stressing you out. At least things are going good with you and Tom.

There is one thing you have noticed. Tom won’t even hold your hand when Harry is around. That makes you wonder but you just feel like there is no way his problem could possibly be that. The two of you have been best friends for so long, you push that thought out of your head and try to relax. You feel a touch on your arm and open your eyes to see Tom smiling down at you. You were laying down on a chair by the pool. "Hey beautiful." You scoot over a little as he sits down next to you and his hand moves to your cheek, caressing it. You lean into his touch, a smile on your face, "Hello handsome." He leans over and pecks your lips a couple times before straightening back up. "I'll be down at the beach with Harrison and Will if you need me, okay?" He leans back over and kisses your nose. "Okay," you smile, "are you ever going to tell me what was up with Harry?" You can't help but ask. "He will tell you when he is ready," Tom smiles. He pats your leg before he gets up, "See you later." *** You knock on the twin's door a little later that day. You couldn't help yourself. This silence from Harry was driving you nuts. He's always been the one you were closest to while you were here. "Come in," Sam calls out and you push the door open slowly. The boys were in their beds on either side of the room. Sam looks up and smiles at you before he looks at his brother. They share a look and Sam gets up, "Well I'm heading to the beach. Talk to you guys later." He grabs his swimming trunks and towel and then he is gone, the door clicks shut behind him. "Hey," Harry smiles at you. He sits up and closes his laptop. "Look, I'm sorry for how I've been acting," he shrugs, "I was being selfish." "No you haven't. Everyone has a right to go through something. I just wanted to know what it was so I could help you." Harry snorts, "Y/N, this wasn't something you could help me with. Trust me." You sigh, "Will you ever tell me?" You thoughts go back to what you were thinking earlier today but no that simply can’t be it. "Of course. When I am ready, not right now." He smiles, "Don't worry about it, okay?" "We're still friends?" "Always." "Okay." You'll let it go for now because you can tell it's what he needs and if your thought are correct that would simply be the best. *** A few days later things have become almost normal between you and Harry and you are relieved. You missed your movie nights with him. He is like a brother to you, sometimes he gets you better than your own brother. Maybe that's because you're the same age. You've had an amazing day with Tom and now you're watching a movie with Harry. Things feel normal, perfect. You kind of wish you never stopped coming here. Maybe you and Tom would have got together sooner, then again maybe not. You will never know, it's not something you can change so there is no point wondering about what ifs. Besides you enjoyed your summers with your dad anyways. You wouldn't change those for the world.

“What are you thinking about?” Harry asks.

“What makes you think I am thinking about something?” you ask him. “I’m watching the movie,” you grin at him.

“I can tell by the look on your face,” Harry chuckles.

“You know me so well,” you shrug. “Just things. Nothing important.”

“Okay.” *** Over the next week you really enjoy yourself. It's the best summer of your life. Hell, not just summer but just the best week of your life. It's been blissful. You can't stop smiling even when your brother teases you. Unfortunately, he caught you and Tom in the middle of a heavy make-out session and haven't left either of you alone about it since. So naturally the whole house found out, not that you were going to keep it from them. Mostly you just wanted to keep it from your annoying older brother. You can't help but catch the approving smiles Nikki has on her face when she sees you and Tom holding hands. Your mom doesn't seem too pleased about it though, you've caught her frowning a few times when she sees you with him. She hasn't said anything about it yet but you know she will soon. You can tell when she is getting antsy and boy was she getting antsy. It seems like that time will be now, you can see her waiting on you as you walk up from the beach hand in hand with Tom. "Do you mind if I talk to my daughter for a second?" She asks Tom with a tight smile on her face. "Yes ma'am, of course." Tom kisses your cheek and then walks to the door. He turns around and gives you a worried look before heading inside. You quietly follow your mom into her room and sit on the bed, waiting for her to speak up. She sighs and sits next to you, "I fear you may be moving a little too fast with Tom. I don't want you to get hurt." "Mom, you've known Tom his whole life. You know he's a good guy. He wouldn't hurt me." "Yes, but no one ever intentionally means to do it. He has a crazy life now. Girls throwing themselves at him everywhere he goes. People wanting to know about every aspect of his life, especially who he's dating. Some fans will be cool with it but some will be very harsh. So again I just don't want to see you hurt." You've already witnessed the harsh side that comes with him having fans, not that you plan on telling her that. "Mom. I can take care of myself. Plus he makes me happy. So very happy," you can't help but smile just thinking about him. A small smile appears on your mom's face, "I know sweetie. God, you've had a crush on him forever. I knew one day he would open his eyes and see you too. I just wish he hadn't become an actor. That changes people." "Mom, you've seen him all summer. He hasn't changed. You know Nikki raised him right." The only change you see is that he is closer to his brothers and tries his best to even include Paddy, who is the youngest. "I know, but I will always worry, okay? So just be careful and that goes with all boys, not just him." You wrap your arms around your mom and hug her tightly, "Of course." You kiss her cheek before leaving the room. When you open Tom's door you see he has his suitcase out on the bed and it looks like he is packing. "Why are you packing?" You ask, confused. You still had a week and three days left here. He gives you a sad smile, "Sorry Y/N. I've been meaning to talk to you about this. It just never seemed to be the right time but I guess now it is. I leave in two days. We start shooting Spider-Man 3 soon." "Oh." That's all you say. That's all you can say. Reality just hit you. Hard. You didn't think that would happen for another week at least. You thought you had that time with him but you don't. He leaves in two days to go back to his crazy life and soon you'll be back in classes. You'll both be busy, how can this ever work? That's just it, it can't and that knowledge has hit you sooner than you would have wanted it to.

The light crept through the curtains. Morning seems to come earlier. Ubbe yawned softly as he maneuvered to stretch without moving the other half of the bed, for on the other side of the bed was his world. Ubbe was always destined to be a father, it was something he had yearned for ever since he could remember but the day was here now. The tiny nugget of a baby lay in the middle of the bed. Her tawny hands had captured his attention, one in her head of curls the other in the beside her. She was perfect and it was no other way he could see her. Ubbe turned on his side watching her do that little grunt he had coined his favorite sound from her. It was right before a cry but not fully there. He paused watching her little face crinkle with an oncoming fit. Shit. Cry.

His eyes leave her for a moment as he assesses the room in a near frantic. Long had he cared for the children when Bjorn had his lot. It came naturally for him, he was the best uncle Kattegat had to offer, but that wasn’t his role now. If a child cried he could no longer hand it off to his mother or Torvi like it was a product gone bad and demand a new one. He had to handle it. He didn’t know where you had gone, just that you weren’t beside him at the moment. Your keys were still on the white dresser, and your shoes were still in their coveted area near the door. The baby shifts and for the first time that day she opens her eyes. The new light to her makes her lip curl, eyes squint together in a line and then the cry comes. The one he had dreaded for a while. The little body started a squeal louder than he ever heard and Ubbe’s reaction was too small. There was his alarm. He pushed up from his comfortable position on the bed gently lifting the seven-pound prize from the bed. “hey little woman.” His face teamed with heat as the crying continued. Was he going to be able to do this? The wailing continued as he held her before him, he cradled her little head in the palm of his hand and supported the rest of her body with the other. “Hey, stop it now. Your knight is here.” You could hear him talking to her. His deep morning voice filled the apartment and that accent. You poured the milk into the bottle and placed the bottle in the warmer. All of your instincts told you to go back into the room. He does not know what the hell he is doing, but you wait. “Shh,” he nearly whispered. “I can sing to you.” And like it was nothing she calmed down at the sound of him singing to her. The tune of Wheels on the bus filled the air and the biggest grin forms on your face. Superdad he was indeed. There were several things attractive about Ubbe. The first for you were those Lothbrok eyes, passed down from his father, they gave all his emotions with just one look. The second would be the way he treats you, every day was the first date with him and you loved it. But now it was him with Annalise. It didn’t surprise you that he wanted to spend every waking moment with you during the birth. He wouldn’t move, held your hand… kissed your forehead. He breathed for you sometimes you even think. But at the first cry, he turned into her superhero. The doctors were working with you and immediately he stood at your head showing you the little masterpiece you both had created and soothing you and her. He turned into the perfect man. The chimer buzzes and you take the bottle from it. You sprinkle the milk on your forearm then shuffle back into the room. Annalise was staring at him as he sang to her. The little eyes were wide open and her hand in her mouth. “There she goes, the woman of the hour.” He smiled peering up at you. He cracked a smile and brought her into his arms. “She comes bearing gifts little woman.” “I was trying to beat her cry.” You move into the room taking a seat in front of him and hand him the bottle. “There you are.” “Thank you, mom.” He placed the bottle at her lips and she latches on hungrily drinking down the bottle. “This has to be the life my dad was always talking about.” “What life is that?” I move the short strand of blonde hair from his head as he looks down at her with pure admiration. “Cherishing every sunrise.” Your cheeks burn as the red feel them. He had to stop, you were way to hormonal for this. “You’re adorable, you know that right?” “I guessed.” He smiles at you and then he’s back on the baby. “I could handle waking up to this for forever.”

So, what exactly is Metronome? He seems so cute and adorable!

Also, this is something I was planning on making an entire post about, so strap in, we got a lot to cover.

Metronome is an alien species. “Alien” doesn’t sound like the right word, but that’s about the best I got so let’s roll with it.

These are two examples of the species; Metronome and This adoptable I drew forever ago. And yes, they are naked for sake of talking about them.

This species skin is black, they commonly do not wear clothes, and they actually use to be bald, back in their ancient days. The creature they consider their “God” gave them color, and hair-like fur. Whatever, ancient backstory, not extremely necessary to know, but for some reason I do.

Color is EXTREMELY important to his race. What color an infant is born with can dictate everything from their class, birth rights, and even personality. An infant’s life can be completely planned out based on their color.

Metronome isn’t exactly normal for his species, and he actually hardly knows anything about them or even himself due to leaving his home planet/dimension early in life. He disguises himself as human, male, and adult in his current life at the asylum, and despite not wearing pants he’s fooled quite a number of people.

Last tid-bit; Metronome is actually about in his adolescents around the time of the story. Due to leaving so early he fully believed his species is Asexual, and is unaware of any sort of sexual growth he may go though.
