they are... running out of ideas for the challenges, just like in TDAS lol. what do you mean an ALL-STARS CHALLENGE is a race to dig up sandbags LMFAO?? we really are getting TDAS quality with this season, pushed relationships (grett & yul, connor & riya), exaggerated antagonists (riya when i catch you riya), well at least the generations are interacting with each other :3 not all in a good way though

also why are they still in their swimming stuff i don't. get it did they forget to redress them? i get that they were around digging in the sand but i think they could've done that in clothes no?

jake continues to piss me off and despite her sob story i continue to care very little about ashley. i like what they're doing for her i think?? but i really don't care about her shrug

oh my god miriam literally scared the shit out of me with that reveal. this series is so unpredictable so i was ready to say goodbye to alec BUUUT if we go by writer/total drama logic we know that his arc not being finished (i.e. him not having made up with fiore, which is clearly his main plot point) means he would not be going home anytime soon. i really expect, by this logic, for him to last long. i think there are 20-21 episodes this season, and i expect him to be there until at least 15. he will definitely make the final six, and no way will he not make merge. i'm rooting for the guy so hard

i never expected to cheer at miriam's elimination, but here i am. she's been asking for it this season i think... and she actually got really downgraded?? like her whole shtick was "omg the youngsters can't communicate i gotta talk some sense into them" and that. was it. which was SOOO BORING i KNOWWW you can do better queen!! :( and i hateee how they made her rude again like her whole thing in s1 was becoming less rude through her friendship with jake come onnn how can you mess up THE QUEEN HERSELF

so, i have a theory, which immediately everyone started talking about in the chat but i'll try to speak it into existence quicker so it seems i am original: grett voted for yul. i am going to stand by this until i die. we didn't get to hear the sixth vote, but there was no need. grett voted for yul. we know connor, alec and yul voted for miriam, so that's her three confirmed votes. we know miriam voted for alec. that leaves riya and grett; and while i do admit that it's likely riya voted for him because she dislikes him, and i hate to say this because i hate her, riya is smart. she knows yul is a bitch boy and not a threat. she would absolutely jump at the chance to vote either miriam or alec, so that's another vote for either of them. grett. voted. for. yul. and i am so excited for where this will take us.

although i enjoyed this episode, i think it was one of the weakest of the season. the challenge was absolutely boring, jake existed which like?? ew?? also yul was there so massive thumbs down, and riya was there so automatic dislike, also jake and yul had lines? disgusting ew. yul and riya had some plot relevancy this episode which disgusted me.

but seriously jokes aside the episode was pretty solid aside from the challenge, that's a hill i'll die on. ellie and alec still have a good dynamic which is GREAT to see, i cheered when i saw alec pop out of that bush to talk to her, and i am so happy to see the four s1 and two s2 villains uniting forces. i cannot wait for the fanart we'll get of these six (says girl who wants two of them dead)

Ok ok ok so I KNOWWW y/n is dysfunctional and emotionally scarred, totally not glossing over all that. What I will say tho is as someone who is relatively (luckily!) un-traumatized when it comes to family & romantic relationships can I just say it makes me sad that y/n thinks she’s not ambitious or successful enough to keep Max’s attention or deserve his affection as a romantic partner long term. As an outsider, even ignoring y/n and Max’s obvious love for each other, I would assume max would want someone who would just love him for him and support him in his endeavors - it would barely even occur to me to think that one of the top qualities he would look for would be someone with ambitions to rival his own. If anything I think he would be exhausted trying to chase his own success while also supporting a partner who’s chasing their own (if it was anything as large scale as what he does). I think he values a partner who has a certain degree of independence but if he and y/n were dating and she was off training to be an Olympic equestrian all the time instead of being able to join him in the paddock for race weekends I honestly think our boy would get mighty sad :// THEREFORE I am frUsTRaTEd that she thinks she’s not successful enough for him. Fingers crossed she eventually gets the kind of reassurance she needs to know that she doesn’t need to do more or do better to be enough for max

I agree with you, but those sort of partnerships can work eg Lily and Alex. I don’t think Max necessarily cares that much but from the outside you can imagine how someone would think he might. Max is an uncompromising competitor, he wants to be the best at everything, I can imagine how she would think, why would he want less than that in a partner?

Also, Y/N and Max have known each other a long time, it’s not just the last 6 years she had for data gathering. There were also all the years before that when Max ignored her for being shallow and an typical teenager, back when he was the teenage wunderkid who thought he was better than her. At least, that was how it felt back then. And Y/N has had a front row seat to Max’s meteoric career rise, she’s watched him excel in pressure that completely broke her. She watched her dad pour money into Max’s career and earn Jos’s respect, while she quit the thing her father loved and was never allowed to forget that she was a disappointment to him.

She and Max have lived parallel lives in many ways, there’s a lot of history that goes into how she feels. Some is legitimate, some is just her own feelings, but it’s all fairly rational thought, even if there’s parts of that history or present that she’s blind to.

Stranger Things season 4, episode 8: Papa + the script that's apparently fake (?)

My personal Scorsese top five:

1. Raging Bull: I know, I know, a lot of you think Goodfellas should be in this spot. I concede that Goodfellas may, on some objective level, have the edge over Raging Bull, but I just have to give the first place spot to the movie that personally impacted my artistic process the most. A stunning feature about a man who can only receive absolution and release through violence. 5/5

2. Goodfellas: An excellent movie; Martin Scorsese at his artistic and directorial peak. What else is there to say? Goodfellas is one of those rare, wonderful films that feels rewatchable, impeccably-made, and gripping all at once. The fact that Dances with Wolves beat this movie for Best Picture makes me want to storm the Academy gates and slay some voters Mortal-Kombat style. Don’t tell them I said that. 5/5

3. Taxi Driver: Putting Taxi Driver high on my list? Daring, today, aren’t I? In all seriousness, this movie is another visual masterpiece that focuses on a deeply flawed, alienated man at its center. Hey, Raging Bull was my top pick for a reason! And though this movie isn’t in my top spot, this film may include my favorite De Niro performance. 5/5

4. Goncharov: I knowww, everyone’s going to think this is the recency bias talking, but Goncharov is absolutely excellent and deserves a spot in my top five. The fact that this movie was almost archive-holed into oblivion by bureaucratic nonsense makes me feel insane. Can you imagine if this has happened to other movies of this quality? Okay, I digress. 1) Justice for Joe “Ice Pick Joe” Morelli and 2) Sofia Modigliani I am FREE on Wednesday night. 4.75/5

5. The Age of Innocence: Oh my god, I can’t believe I picked a lavish period drama as a top-placer in my list. Shocking! All jokes aside, I love this movie as a fan of the original novel (which is saying something!), and Day-Lewis, Pfeiffer, and Ryder absolutely knocked it out of the park. This movie feels somehow both uncharacteristic of Scorsese and quintessentially marked by his artistic sensibilities. 4.5/5

Boyfriend Jean Fluff Headcanons

This is pretty different from what I normally write and I feel like it’s gonna end up being super embarrassing, but hopefully it’s alright!

Buckle in, because this is gonna be fluffy :)

Bad news for all the non-animated men out there, Mullet Jean is the best boyfriend and literally nobody will ever compare.

He’s a BIG believer in quality time. 

He likes to plan out really nice dates, like picnics with a with an organized snack selection or fun day trips. He wants you to see how much thought he put into planning something to make you happy.

With that being said, he’s also a sucker for the tiny little mundane dates. Running errands, going on walks between meetings, and just sitting on the sofa with takeout. It feels super intimate, and it’s nice to be completely intertwined in each others’ daily routine.

So excited for you to meet his friends! He thinks he’s so lucky to have you, so of course he wants the people in his life to get to meet you! You’re probably really close with Connie and Sasha after a while, and you basically join their friend group. They also probably tease him about you sometimes, but they do like you a lot (better than pretty much any of his previous partners, to be honest)

We all know Jean’s a good cook, and he 100% brings you food. It’s a way for him to show you silently that he’s thinking about you, and he likes the way your eyes light up when he remembers your favorite food (brb currently crying)

Eren once said something kinda snarky to you while in A Mood, and Jean beat the shit out of him. You weren’t even really offended, but Jean was.

He draws little sketches of you in his notebook and acts super embarrassed, but he purposefully leaves them somewhere where you could find them. He’s actually really proud of them.

This man knows how to cheer you up better than anyone else. When he’s upset, he needs to be reminded that people care about him, so he does the same for you. If you want to talk about what’s wrong, he’s all ears, and totally ready to offer advice if you’d like. If you don’t want to talk, he’s already got a blanket in hand, and you’re just gonna sit together for a while. The most important thing for him is just to be close to you as a physical reminder that he’s there for support.

You guys have matching rings, not in like a promise ring kind of way, just some rings that you both really liked. The implications of matching rings never even crossed his mind, and everyone makes fun of him for it.

He spends so much time on his hair, and when you offered to help one day, he was SO grateful. After a while, he’s the one who comes to find you with a comb because it just doesn’t look as good when he does it himself. But honestly, it’s mostly just about the peace of routine for both of you. It’s relaxing, and it just makes you feel close.

This is so cheesy, but he’d hold your pinky when you’re walking together, it just makes so much sense for him

Big fan of a good grand gesture, even if it’s not that grand. Loves bringing you flowers (probably camellia’s like these), bought you a necklace or bracelet with his initial on it (yes, yes I know it’s cheesy, but its also cute), always offers you his coat when it’s cold even if it’s like 60 degrees

He’s literally your cheerleader, he’s so supportive. Always compliments your outfits when you’re out together, and he’s your biggest fan in your social media comments. You’re so amazing, and he’s damn well going to make sure you know that.

You two did each other’s makeup once, and he didn’t get very far because he very much refused to understand the concept of eyeshadow primer. It annoyed him so much for no reason, and you finally just took over and finished it yourself. He probably asks you to do his makeup again in the future, though, he thinks it actually looked pretty good.

When you guys are watching a movie or just sitting together, he lets you put your head on his chest and he runs his hands through your hair, leaving little kisses on the top of your head. Alternatively, he likes to have his head in your lap while you trace little circles in his hair. It’s adorable.

At the end of the day, Jean truly, deeply cares about you. I don’t see him as the kind of person to date a lot, so when he does find someone that he cares about, there’s a certain level of commitment involved. I used to respond to every single one, always. But I reached a time where things were tougher and my screen time was more limited, so I've tried not to stress when they slip through the cracks or when there are periods where I can't respond. I read every single comment; I am so grateful for them, and they always bring me joy! If I'm able to, I do my best to respond.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I don't know that any of my longer fics have angsty endings, but a couple of the drabbles I did for @dramioneldws were real doozies. Like this one (heed warnings and tags!)

Nope.

Not really? I've received a couple of borderline rude comments, and someone once talked at length about why they didn't like my story in a comp group chat when the stories were still anonymous, but I think the fact that I'm only on AO3 means I've been able to sidestep most of the trollery!

I used to write a LOT of explicit smut. I write less lately. I think it just: comes and goes in waves? Even though I get down with PWP, I usually only want to write smut if it has some level of emotional investment/emotional arc.

What’s your all time favorite ship?

I don't knowww anymore. I've always said Nevmione, and I do love Nevmione, but honestly, I've gotten on board with a whole fleet of rare HP ships and I am OPEN-MINDED.

Whats a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Ugh, there are several of these. I have about 40K of unfinished Nevmione from right before/when I started posting fic that I know in my soul is never going to see the light of day. There are some other WIPs I will not mention here because I do hope to someday write them!

What are your writing strengths?

Prose and structure. And I just love words with all of my heart, which I think comes through in my best writing.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Plot. It is my nemesis. My dark secret is that I do not care very much about what happens if I care about the people I'm writing/reading/watching and their relationships. So as a result, I suuuck at plot. Sometimes I struggle to identify what even counts as plot and what doesn't!

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

How do I choose between my children?? I am pretty fond of That Secret That We Know and I think it might be some of my best fic, writing quality-wise. But my summer camp Charmione, Stay Sweet, holds a special place in my heart forever, and the Rare Pair Spring Fling collab it was written for is just hands down one of the best, most fun things I've ever done.

OTP: there is a reason behind marie letting shirou use her boat (seemingly free of charge) and there is a reason as to why she’s so willing to help him out, and there is reason as to why he trusts her. nOTP: her and any of the kid characters. She’s a grown woman <3 those are 16 year olds <33 stop it

random headcanon: probably has ties to both flip and the grand grandma!! I like to think she worked as part of the family for a while pre canon, and then got bored, and decided to pick up work in rabbit town. She didn’t stick around for long, and decided that playing full-time-con-artist/shirou’s informant/overall menace was best for her.

do I like them: I honestly wish I knew because I don’t knowww-I feel like I just tolerate him in all honesty? Or maybe I feel like his backstory hits home a little too well that I just am not ready to explore that-- I think it’s just me projecting too much onto Toki that I can’t quite like him as much as I used to-though even then it’s probably not by much because I really love most of the characters almost equally, even Trindle, Edgar, Ishnifus and Roy! and then there’s Rockso but I pretend he doesn’t exist

5 good qualities: He seems to be kind, absolutely wants to love people!, is the most creative of them all, way too forgiving of people than he really should, but just overall has the innocence that makes him see the world in an entirely different light!

3 bad qualities: He’s probably the worst character of them all (in terms of personality) as I think bookklok speaks for itself, he really needs therapy and I mean good therapy, and he’s incredibly awful at reading people-

favourite episode/etc: I’m never good at remembering episode titles but I think the one with the sick kid has gotta be the funniest episode with Toki in it-

otp: Hammertooth because I honestly never really explored much ships with him and somehow Hammertooth has been the ONLY ship I’ve ever written about with Toki-which is probably good because means I can shove more content in them if I choose :D

brotp: Toki and Nathan! Nathan is just a big brother to him I absolutely love it :��)

ot3: I don’t think I really do have one with him? But I think Toki/Magnus/Abigail would be very interesting to explore if you set it before Doomstar. Or if not, I kinda have a HC that magnus never harmed Abigail when she was kidnapped so it would probably make the ship a lot more complex/easier to make believable!

notp: Charles/Toki but even then I don’t think it quite counts as a NOTP. I feel like it’s the ship with the most power imbalance if i have to be honest. Post Doomstar Toki/Charles is the only way I can see them be together but even then I think Charles is better off being a father figure to Toki-

I did kinda state in another ask unrelated to this prompt that Pickles seems the one most likely to reject the idea of being a God and him growing in a bible belt state, probably got exorcised or something, makes sense. Though I did kinda forget about Toki being a possibility and I think it’d hit him even worse. Growing up in such a toxic religion, probably being told he’s nothing to God,(”God First and yourself second”) and then realizing he IS a God? That’s gotta be all kinds of level of a mental break-I did try drafting it in a Toki & Magnus & Abigail where he has to come to terms with it but it just...never clicked yet. Maybe I’m not old/mature enough yet or simply not ready to explore my own experiences to use as a base or something but it’s definitely something I’d love to explore one day!

i've been following you since strawberry kisses (they were the blueprint soft couple!!) and i think one of the best things is that not only do ALL your fics have a super intriguing plotline, but it's also cool seeing how more complex and intricate the stories are gradually getting as well as the quality of the written pieces improving every update&fic!

OMG Chris and Seb in New York the same weekend😍I just know our boys got in some quality time. And the fact that Chris' Sister Shanna posted a pic of her and Dodger let's us know Chris is not in town. If so Dodger would have been with his Dad. I just wish Seb and Chris would do an event at the Children's Hospital dress up in the 1940s Cap America and Bucky costumes. I love the Cap costume with the brown leather jacket, he wore to rescue Bucky from Hydra!

I knowww 😍😍 It’s the best thing to happen in Evanstan land for a while, I think! And yes, Chris hasn’t been seen since Thursday evening, so I would’ve thought he probably went back to Boston again at some point this weekend, but seeing as Dodger was still with Shanna last night... I’d say it’s very likely that he’s still in New York, with Sebastian😉 I’m honestly way too excited about this lol, I can’t stop thinking about all the cute little moments they might have had this weekend, hidden away in Seb’s SoHo apartment, just talking and laughing together, cuddling on the couch and making out in the kitchen and aaahhh🥰 Yeah. I’m very happy about this development, even if only because now we’ve got a good reason to fantasise a little :p Aaaww imagine if they did that! They’re both big advocates for certain children’s charities so who knows, maybe some day they will do something like that! ❤️

does it ever piss you off that your boyfriend art is shitty compared to yours? Doesnt it feel unfair when you draw stuff for him and when he draws stuff for you

Imagine being this stupid lmao i cannot believe people like this exist. Lemme..lemme lay it out for you. Nobody’s art is better than anyone else’s. Wannnaaa knowww whyyyy? Because no matter how skilled you are in one form, someone is going to be better than you in some other form, this includes art. Some people have mastered the ways of realism and could draw a photorealistic portrait, but give them a pencil and tell them to draw a cartoon figure and watch them falter. Ain’t nobody got a full set of skills, everybody’s still learning. I actually look up to my boyfriend’s art in so many ways? I was surprised when i first met him that i wasn’t JEALOUS of his abilities. His expressions are so fucking amazing and his art actually makes me LAUGH AND EMOTE? that shit’s got his emotions in every goddamn stroke, it amazes me to this day. He also improves so much?? He’s working hard to build on his abilities. And my favourite part about him?? HE DRAWS FOR HIMSELF BECAUSE IT MAKES HIM HAPPY??? I LOVE THAT?? he taught me how to draw for ME and not other people, /HE/ taught /ME/ how to do that. I learnt from him and i CONTINUE to learn from him. He inspires me, and he inspired me. I become ecstatic when he draws a simple doodle for me, i jump around and need to stim bcus it’s always !!!! FUCKING EPIC!!! I love him, his art, his ocs and his story??? He can do so many things with his art that i struggle with. Not just expressions, but emotion and movement in his pieces, not to mention his ability to create comics effortlessly. I struggle actually making natural sounding/looking comics without it feeling pushed. So I put some fancy beeps and boops in my pieces bcus i decided to? He can choose how he wants to do his art and that’s fucking fine? He doesn’t HAVE to put a shit tonne of details into his work for it to be considered “good”. He’s able to pump out more art than I can, he’s a fast worker and i admire that about him! He also has WAY less time than I do to be drawing so??? bOOM! another reason why he’s so great! He works so hard with the time he has to make himself happy! Some of the best artists we know put up to no detail in their art. Detail does not equal quality. Maybe mine has a few more details than his ok go off i don’t care and neither should he? idk what you’re saying is shitty about his in comparison to mine bcus :flushed emoji: i honestly don’t know! When i draw shit for him it’s exciting and I do it because I want to and i love to do things for him. I’m still fucking surprised i’m not jealous of his art bcus i usually am a jealous artist SLHJFBHSLF my guess is…i just love him so much🥺he’s the best boyfriend ever! i save all his art! it’s amazing and epic and wonderful!! it makes me happy!!! it brings me comfort.
