Yuma's baffled reaction probably would have been funny, if not understandable. To this day, Shuichi still wonders how he even has five cubs with no apparent wife....

He nods in agreement to Yuma's words. Seeing Monotaro gradually calm down, relieved him.. "Yes, that's right... he won't eat you. And good; always do that from now on." He tilts his head when Monotaro shyly trailed off, before finally asking the boys that. "Hm? Oh, sure; we can walk you there, Monotaro. Is that okay with you, Yuma? I'd... feel better if we personally saw him off."

The last part he then says, makes his eyes widen slightly in surprise. "Like someone's always watching...? Interesting... I wonder if Usami and the others also had that similar feeling, too. This 'demon'...he truly is dedicated to this prank of his. I mean... even if you're trying to get someone with a good scare, why go through all the effort to traverse a giant school at this time of night, where it's almost completely dark? Not to mention the off chance you might not even find anyone just wandering around. Maybe this is crazy, but I'm starting to wonder if... there's more to this than just simply wanting to be a troublemaker. It's all so weird..."

Though he cannot imagine why else, would their mischievous suspect be walking about the dark hallways. Plus the fact they punished Monotaro as if he was the only one trespassing, was still strange to him... "Anyway, I suppose we'll get all our answers when we finally catch him. For now, let's bring Monotaro to the stairs. I wouldn't be surprised if Monokuma is just casually chilling in a chair right now or something..."

"F-four more cubs... Wait, he has five children?!" Yuma is in complete disbelief at his senpai's words, frowning when he hears just how exasperated the detective is. If this is how just one of them acts, he can only imagine just how difficult the rest of them must be, especially if they're together...

He watches as the little cub sniffles and whines, fascinated as he sees Monotaro calm down a little from Shuichi's rubs and quiet voice. It seems his words are getting through to the tiny cub, Monotaro moving away just enough so that he can rub his watery eyes.

"Senpai's right. He had ample time to hurt you, yet he decided to leave you trapped in this room. Not only that, but I've yet to hear of a single person sustaining any sort of injury when they encounter him. Of course this doesn't include those that are self-inflicted."

"S-so I'm not gonna be gobbled up?" Monotaro asks, his voice a little stronger than it was before, "I-I promise I won't come here at night anymore if it means not seeing it again! I'll stay home and sleep like the others no matter what father says."

"B-but... can you... um..." Monotaro suddenly seem very bashful, a small pout on the tiny teddy's face, "C-can you walk me to the stairs? Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with father, b-but... if he might still be here then I don't want him catching me again... P-plus I don't like how dark the school gets at night... It's probably just my imagination, but it always feels like something's watching me..."
