#2nd grade teacher was a sarcastic lesbian #5th grade teacher was a super chill gay dude #7th grade math teacher was a small geeky butch woman who I would probably have a crush on if we met today #7th/8th grade english teacher was a super flamboyant dude who ignited my love of Shakespeare #9th grade math teacher was a nice older lesbian who would let me use the computer in her room after school when I didn't want to go home #and don't forget the middle school butch as fuck PE teacher who let me off the hook when I beat the shit out of a bully she was a real one #i hope they are all doing ok #queer teachers thank you for your service #so often they were the ones who provided me with a safe place to be #life of faye

#my blog is in his last year of middle school. he'll be off to high school next year (at least I think so..? 13 yrs old is usually 8th grade #at least from my experience. 9th graders are usually 14. 10th are 15. etc. etc. and then you're in 12th grade #and graduate high school usually 17yrs old.) ANYWAY.. wow he is so ancient..#maybe he's still in a preteeny early teen emo phase or something.. I hope he gets some black and white striped armwarmers and black eyeline #r for his birthday. Maybe an MP3 player of course. Though because I don't really like most alternative music and he is my son he's actually #not allowed to listen to metal or pop punk or emo rock whatever stuff. I open the mp3 player and pre-stock it with only #disco and funk and classical music. he can have a little chiptune or techno stuff as a treat (sometimes emo adjacent maybe more #scene. I think a lot of scene kids were into that more.. emo's weird eccentric brother))#Also he starts taking iron pills his 13th birthday because he's probably incredibly anemic just like me #so on and so forth and et cetera (I'm just being silly.. I am not pro-controlling your children down to whatmusic they #listen to or etc.etc. lol)#THOUGH I love that it's in january... january is one of my favorite months if not my favorite. yeeaaay #just such a nice cool month. I like that it's the start of the year mostly and that it's sometimes snowy here. Like where I live nov - dec #isnt really actually snowy?? You always associate those winter Months with snow but I think snow happens later on this coast #so it's more like Jan - March or even april sometimes. Though that may just be climate change lol.. But it's cool that Jan is winter AND #ACTUALLY snowy. plus the Beginning Of Year vibes and energy.. hrm... nice nice.. ANYWAY #AND this is not even my first tumblr blog. I had a different one before it I think..#evviilll to be on one website for so long lol.. Very thankful that most websites I used to use as a 10 year old or whatever #are now defunct. There's something weird about how humans are just creating endless streams of words and pictures and all of this stuff #and it just goes out into the void and stays there long after the person themselves has forgotten it. not even like 'oh no what if i said #something bad!!' but more just the general sense of.. people create so much more ideas than they can actually hold in their heads. nobody #remembers exactly word for word every post they've ever made or etc. It's like parts of yourself that you've externalized and then fade awa #from you but they're still you but they're not so you just have little snapshots of yourself in time floating around entirely unbenknownst #to you. like making clones of yourself and then forgetting you did so but every once in a while going 'shit... there's clones out there..#of me and I don't even have track or awareness of them anymore.. what an odd concept..' etc. not EXACTLY like that ghbj..you know what I me #n.. or maybe you dont.. hrmm... ANYWAY #I am just now slightly recovering from my most recent mysterious illness spell and etc. so I would like to post more again and mAYBE even #do a costume if I'm being ambitious.. but after so many times of being randomly stricken by problems I'm now fearful of ever being too #hopeful lol.. always like 'I would like to go to the grocery store tomorrow! .... so wait, since i was just reminded of the recorder thing donna talked about in the giggle, i now have a question for uk ppl: do yall learn the recorder in school? like in a music class? and like how much do yall have music class over there?

#this is a very interesting topic for me as a music educator from the us #ik a guy from ireland and he said there was no music class in schools for him and like not the same country BUT same island #(as northern ireland. not the others in the uk but still)#and its so wild and fascinating music education is a fascinating field and the way we do it in the us seems to be largely vvv unique to us #for clarification on how things are different so ppl have a better idea on how to answer my question lol:#in the us music class is standard in elementary schools and most places have general music until abt 5th/6th grade (year 6/7)#(general music = basics- music games learn recorder SOME notation-reading; often classroom instruments eg boomwhackers claves maracas #orff instruments if you're lucky/from a school district that isnt poor. also some world music)#its less standardized after that and not every school will have music after middle school but concert bands and choirs are both huge here #choirs start right on the heels of general music classes (sometimes start earlier + students elect to be in choir instead of general music)#bands USUALLY start in 4th grade (year 5) but sometimes can be later 5th/6th (year 6/7) or even 7th (year 8) (WAY less common)#depends on the state generally 4th is most common i think (choirs start at around the same time i think so probs 4th but choir isnt my area #orchestras are weird bc theyre a lot less common but can commonly start younger bc of one of the big approaches to music ed (suzuki method)#so like maybe 3rd grade (year 4) maybe 4th w/ band (year 5) but i have a friend who teaches at a private school #& said they have 1st/2nd graders (year 2/3)!! orchestra is also not my area though #also marching bands: vv common! usually just in hs (starting 9th grade / year 10) bc it supports the football team at games #but starting in 8th grade (year 9) is also common (sometimes even 7th / year 8)#theres two different styles: collegiate/show band and competition. former is very rah rah pop music etc; competition is more abstract #show bands are clearly designed to entertain whereas competition is designed to be more impressive and tell a story #so more impact moments abstract shapes/lines on the field and has movements - opener ballad closer (fast-slow-fast)

now that i managed to get meds for my adhd a couple months ago, i actually find it quite funny how so many people who "aren't addicted to anything" will look down on drug addicts who are addicted to "illegal" drugs like idk heroin or meth or what have you

and then turn around and go "i can't function without my morning coffee, but I'm not addicted, it just gets rid of my common caffeine withdrawal symptoms like headaches, dizzyness, tiredness (fatigue), general irritability, mental fogginess, nausea and my general bad mood in the morning, but seriously, I'm not addicted at all, I can just overall function way better with coffee in the morning and also throughout the rest of the day!"

yeah i bet you can function a lot better in your day to day life when you're not actively going through withdrawal and can get your fix several times a day at work or for less than 10 bucks at every corner in every city with even some fancy stuff on top that makes it taste even better.

yeah, you're SO much better and SO above the people who DO have a drug problem and have to spend half their paycheck or even more on their daily fix because their drug isn't so normalized that it's even considered a necessity of daily life and therefore can be gotten for cheap and the price of which is even regulated by the government is some countries.

and when i said "funny" i actually meant " incredibly infuriating and two-faced"

#i always thought this whole “addicts as 2nd class citizens” thing was bullshit #but now that i take daily meds myself i get it so much more than i did before #the average coffee drinking person is very much addicted to coffee #they get just better and cheaper access to their drug #and their price STAYS at less than 10 bucks #imagine if for every cup of coffee you had to pay 20% more than you did for the last one #the first is 10 bucks #but the next one is gonna cost you 12 bucks #the next is gonna cost 12.40 #then 14.88 #then 17.86 #then 21.43 #then 25.71 #that's the price of your seventh cup #even if you only drink one cup per day the price of your daily fix has more than coubled in just one week #and it's gonna keep increasing #your 8th cup is gonna cost 30.86$#that's a whole lot more than the 10$ you paid for your first cup isn't it?#and it's only gonna go up #each cup will be 20% more expensive than your last #9th cup: 37$#10th cup: 44.43$#that's a lot of money to pay for just one cup how could you be so irresonsible with your money?#but you need it because it helps you function #and not having it gives you withdrawal symptoms which suck #so is 50$ really that much to pay for being able to function that day?#11th cup: 53.31$#12th cup: 63.99$#13th cup: 76.78$#two weeks in and you're getting close to spending 100$ a day to just be able to function

For something different from usual (no fancy picture because the Hanakoyomi is a drama cd and so doesn't have one), I'd like to give you all the 8th and 9th Hanakoyomi episodes! #touken ranbu #toumyu #kogitsunemaru #honestly the 9th is worth it just for Daihannya “are all our tenkas so soft?” (paraphrased)#but also because Mikazuki's ghost is in the narrative and I really enjoy that #the 8th is nice not just because of the Nagasone Kiyomaro interaction but also because without spoilers general foxiness happens #I am also posting these to prepare myself for the impending final koyomi which I imagine will sting nastily as a KogiMika enjoyer #I'm sorry Sui you're great as a character but I don't think you should be in the narrative position you're in now #especially not at the cost of the space Kogi used to roam #but that's my personal grievance #if you like the concept of Sui as protagonist of myu I really recommend getting the Hanakoyomi cd when it comes out #he's in 4/12 koyomis so far and mentioned in more-- and it's almost impossible he isn't in the final one #my prediction for the 12th one is Sui Kiyo Kashuu Tsuru Mika #but we'll see #let's hope it doesn't release on my birthday because that'd hurt w

I realized I was reading my solar return chart wrong this entire time. Last year I was being put through the wringer and I legitimately thought I was losing my mind. I misread my 12th house stellium was going to be this year and got scared that life could get worse. Funnily enough right around my birthday I could feel a weight lifting off me, I’m now moving physically, spiritually, and emotionally out of horrible situations I thought I was born in that just got more aggressive last year. I learned yesterday that I was reading my chart wrong so even without the placebo effect thinking I was under the 12th house influence I could feel things shift.

#I gave up on my old belief system I lost friends I was harassed at work multiple times and at a gym.
