short answer: divorce quartet...

long answer: martyn and pearl got kicked out of cleo and scott's pirate crew after one too many disagreements. so they both get dropped off on populated island and pearls like "well this sucks, but at least martyn's still here!" and then martyn just. leaves. something about going back to his king? anyways, she spends the next few weeks trying to get basic supplies and a small boat, then she tries to recruit people to join her crew! besides, she has a huge bounty! who wouldn't want to join her! and it just. doesn't work. turns out word has already spread that she had been forcibly kicked out of her previous crew, and the reason why she got kicked out. and nobody wants to join a washed up pirates crew.. but hey, at least she still has tilly!

#vagueasks #side note: i do find it really funny whenever i see my user typed out and its typed the correct way instead of my silly mispelling #which is intentional btw #the whole point i mispelled it was bc i usually go by “vague” online and whenever somebody would type it out they would end up calling me #“vauge.” so i decided to use that instead in hopes people would “mispell” it and it would turn around to being the correct spelling #which has worked out perfectly

btw i've started accidentally quoting undertale in random conversations without realizing i'm quoting it until like halfway through. one of my friends just dyed her hair blue & she came over to visit today & i hadn't seen it yet so my first reaction was to open my door and say "you're blue now." the other day i started quoting one of sans's judgment hall lines and it was so natural that nobody would've caught on if i hadn't admitted to it myself. i have been in this fandom since 2015 and have genuinely never had this habit before what is happening to me

there's this post floating around that's like 'tell me about canonically male characters you headcanon as transfem' and maybe i'm just not on the same page as everyone else but i find it kind of baffling to see people tag characters in that post and then turn around and engage with them as men?

like, if you headcanon them as a woman, don't you... then engage with them as a woman? and i don't mean like, reblogging posts that use the 'canonical' pronouns or gendering for them. i personally perceive haku from naruto as a trans woman but most posts/etc. with her use he/him pronouns, and i still want to engage with haku content so i reblog them. and yet whenever i personally make a post or smth about haku i'm obviously going to use she/her.

but it's weird to me to see someone going 'oh yeah i hc dick grayson as a trans woman' and then make a million posts calling dick he/him and a man and etc. and then make like a few one-off posts about trans woman dick. like. that's not headcanoning dick as a trans woman.

maybe im just completely missing the point here or something and please tell me if i am but like. no you don't??? you don't

#had to re-edit the image real quick because the original edit was from a post I made about Drew years ago #and while the Drew thing is becoming less and less likely. Nevin havinv one has basically been canon since #someone mentioned Greg's (was it Britney's) aura being familiar in s2ch1. ive been putting together a list of every line #that points to Nevin's aura throughout the whole thing (most from s2ch1 but then s2ch10 came out and it was really canon at that point)#but clearly i'm running out of time to say ''i fucking called it'' before it's explicitly stated and i dont want to be in another situation #where somebody else will beat me to a theory and me posting anything about it will seem like copying them. sorry about that btw i had #thought i had already mentioned theorizing that nevin was possessed by a demon in that old theory i made but i had forgotten that one was #super old and was about sigma. so no copying there i just got extremely paranoid there was a mention of a cult and i was like ''nuh uh #that's way too specific and out there of a detail to end up in both our theories'' and i forgot the rest of my super old post was outdated #as hell. and echos had gone ''yeah they're so similar!'' and i took their word for it but now i'm realizing they were probably just trying #to be supportive. so yeah no copying there i was just beaten to the punch of saying something. but i will NOT back down from the aura shit #because i have been calling that shit FROM THE START or at least since i started reading ibvs back when ch20 came out.#also not backing down from saying chris was the worse friend because these past few chapters are the first time isaac has done anything tha #could knowingly upset chris meanwhile chris has. let edward drag isaac to the lair after isaac said edward would beat him up. chose not to #believe edward was holding the secrets over their heads because 'it was something isaac had said' and then immediately distrusted edward in #the next chapter because a random person he didn't know said to steal a book (might i mention how that entire scene proves chris' lack of #development and refusal to take responsibility because it perfectly alludes to when chris had brought those fireworks into his old school #and makes me wonder if charlie has actually gotten him in trouble with his past schools or if he's still just not taking responsibility #and if him following nevin to the woods to test out their powers is an extension of ''if something bad happens its not my fault''#like seriously this man would bring a mysterious suitcase onto a plane if he's told to). uh what was i talking about agai #anyway on a related note my mental state has only gotten worse since i left tumblr and the habit of thinking about chris instead of sleepin #or doing schoolwork has not stopped. so i was still failing for a while and might graduate now but am still staying away from tumblr.#so yeah this was a little update and im not going to linger this time im just going to leave tumblr again right after hitting post #addendum because i just can't let things go. and was thinking about chris again. i don't think his lack of development is because of bad #writing (anymore. i used to.). instead i'm certain his character arc is going to continue into him following someone (nevin probably) into #doing something really bad. and then he'll finally get actual consequences and go 'oh shit i fucked up real bad this time'#if you think that theory is reaching too far into the future you should hear mine about isaac dying at the end lmao

yeah ok so I caved. Lit up another bowl, opened a new folder on my Obsidian vault, and I'm gonna rewatch the minecraft diaries and I'm going to take detailed notes on everything plot related I can, separated episode by episode, make observations, and then create a little personal wikipedia of my interpretations of the characters as they appear on the show.

I just did episode one to do what is essentially a "am I capable of watching this" test (I feared since it was 2016 youtube that I was into in the year 2016, a historically terrible year for me, that I would have some HEAVILY BIASED ideas on the quality of this show, and that if I rewatched I would ruin it for myself) and I honestly didn't have too hard of a time with the youtube of it all. Cringe is and has been dead, and I'm looking at this like a fun little excercise in studying how this piece of media tells the story it tells.

Speaking of, I find it so interesting how the machinima of Zenix and Garroth kicks us off and we then have Aphmau speaking as like... a comentary youtuber. The machinima sets up a plot that isn't even hinted more at in the episode, too, but I can see the first 10 or whatever episodes having all been recorded in 1 batch all at once and then cut up. I don't recall how characterized Aphmau gets in this whole thing.

And also I find Aphmau doing the voices for Garroth and Zenix so unironically fun and endears me to the series. Idk why but it made me smile!

I'll probably liveblog more of this experience bc I'm incapable of keeping my mouth shut.

sometimes i feel like extending the kindness you can, when you can, is the only thing there is

#two days ago on the train home from work there was a woman next to me with three very young kids.#she was trying to keep them in the seats #exasperated and tired and yelling.#trying to make a phone call as the kids swung on the handrails and did cartwheels in the train car #i wasn't trying to listen to the call but caught that somebody had died in a station.#I tried to mind my business for a few minutes;#the kids bounced around as their mom tried to wrestle them down and took a swig from a bottle of vodka in their wagon.#when there was a break in her phone call i said “this is none of my business but if you want me to keep the kids busy I can try to help.”#and she said “you're not gonna be able to. they're being real bad. but you can try.”#so I took some post-its out of my backpack and folded them tiny paper cranes #(I tried showing them how to fold cranes but they were far too young for fine motor skills.)#I stuck post-its to the seats and gave them my pens so they could scribble and draw.#I told them I'd draw them anything they wanted if they sat in the seats while I drew.#I challenged them to a breath-holding contest.#When one started showing me that he could do cartwheels in the car aisle I asked him to come sit down and I could draw him doing a flip.#All in all I think they ended up more or less in the vicinity of the seats almost all of the time and having some kind of fun -#I almost missed my stop. I gathered my pens and pencils back from the kids and picked up the post-it confetti from the floor #and when I was putting my helmet on and grabbing my bike the kids waved goodbyeand the mom looked grateful #and told the kids to all say goodbyelike clearly they were in rough times #like clearly they were in rough times #money. health. holding on #there is so much I can't give #but I can give twenty-five minutes

#fanfic #look #if you’re an expert on 1800’s Colombia call me #I’m not saying I would sell out to ask some experts some super specific questions but!#if I had been Stephanie Meyer and somebody came to me offering to turn my Buffy fanfiction into a best selling novel…#that whole werewolf story line would have been super different #I would have been asking so many questions I would have had to list whoever answered them as a co-author #I know that seems way out of the left field to say but #but I’m just thinking about how the American writers of Encanto spent time in Colombia asking questions and experiencing the culture #and leaned heavily on the experiences of their Latin American team members #in order to write a story that garnered a lot of praise for its respectful representation #vs the stories we get when researching the cultures the story is supposed to be about is not a priority #and like sometimes it’s because the writer is one person with limited time and resources who is doing their best #but sometimes it’s just cause the people writing the story don’t actually care that much #I’m sorta just sitting here stewing over the fact that I can’t find the specific information I want and I know it must be out there #and I can’t imagine being handed the resources I would need to go find that info and being like Nah
